Title: A most wonderous occasion [[Open]]
Kaail - June 10, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
Kaail hadn't seen a day like this in years. The heat was at a normal level, bearable, and comforting. The animals stirred all around him: insects going about their tiny lives, and small mammalian creatures scavenging for food in the underbrush. Even a few larger creatures lumbered through the forest, paying no attention to the lone human in their woods. It was too nice of a day for any violence, and Kaail thought that even the animals could accept that truth.
Bending down over his open pack, Kaail took inventory. He had his cloak, used only when the seasons grew cold. And he had his trusty dagger, the same one he'd had for years. And he had his one and only scroll, one that he had yet to learn to read. Once he did learn to read it, though, it was said that he could learn a special art from it. Nodding to himself, he packed the things back into his pack, and pushed it aside with his foot.
Taking a deep, satisfying breath of the wood-scented, moisture-filled air, Kaail sat back against a tree. This was one of the only places in Taurai Woods that provided a lot of space. Kaail liked to call it his 'Paradise', for he had spent time here on more than one occasion.
It was a small clearing, with a small patch of blackened soil and rocks in the center, where Kaail usually built his fires. At the moment, he was only visiting, so, he had decided against building a fire. The clearing was littered with dead leaves from seasons passed, as well as fallen, rotting trees, and branches. Small saplings from the native trees grew in tiny groups around the clearing, and Kaail was always sure to make his way around them.
Birds chirped high above him, creating a beautiful song for Kaail to enjoy.
He took another deep breath, cocking his head to listen.
Fira - June 11, 2008 08:56 PM (GMT)
Once again, Fira Trist had decided to take her wanderings to the grasslands and then found a forest within it. This certainly was a surprise for her since she had not known that such a place of trees and plant life had existed within this place. Though it was granted that she had not taken the time out to do much exploring in this area. All the same, this place was peaceful and, even far more important in her view, it was a forest. Her place of sanctuary. Her place of home. It did not matter what type of forest it was or even the size of it; for to her the forests were all one and the same.
She walked through the Taurai Woods and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. In fact, she ended up getting lost within the confines of her thoughts and when she awoke herself from them she found that she had entered into a clearing somewhere within the woods. Being new to the area, she immediately began to glance around nervously to her surroundings. Yet Fira found that she was safe and did not feel the need to unsheath the sword that hung about her waist.
Several feet away, she could see someone who looked to be a male human with dark colored hair. Was he friend or was he foe? Fira decided that it would be kinder of her to consider him as a friend, even though she had not met him yet. Then she decided to make a secondary decision just in case he was a dark creature: she would run. This day was far to warm and merry to be spent with petty fights within a forest. She prayed that he was kind and that she could also run away from him quickly if the need arose.
With cautious steps, she approached him and said welcomingly, "Good day, my lord. How are you? Please pardon me if I am interferring with anything that you are doing."

Kaail was not at all shocked by the arrival of another intelligent being. Actually, he sort of expected it, really. The way the world was... It just made you feel sure that something would come along to ruin your time. He sighed, and opened his eyes.
Then, he lowered them to the dirty forest floor.
He had not expected to meet a female. He had expected a brute, hell bent on killing him, and taking all of his things as his prize. Cursing himself, he wondered why he always traveled to the worst case scenario.
"Hello." he replied, standing quickly, using the rough bark of the tree to move into a standing position. "And, no. You are not inturrupting anything... Well, beside my nap, but I wasn't really sleeping, anyway." he laughed, and looked the girl in the eyes.
Upon closer inspection, he relaized that this girl was half human. She must have been half elf, also, for her ears were slightly pointed, and she gave off an aura of strong intelligence.
"Ah, uhm... I'm Kaail, Mercenary." he added, stepping forward slowly. He held out his hand, the palm probably dirty. He hadn't had time to check.
He hoped she wouldn't care.

Without even considering it, Fira happily shook hands with the man. To be honest, she did not really care about how dirty his hand slightly was; for it was the fact that he was friendly that she considered being the item of consideration. One could never or at least should never, judge another based upon their appearances. It was the person’s character that matters the most. She smiled when she learned that she had not disturbed Kaail in any way. After all, it seemed to the sorceress as though this place was his to a certain point and therefore she was intruding upon him.
In a few moments of complete silence, she took in the features of Kaail up close. Yes, it was clear that he was a human and certainly a young one at that. The orange eyed woman was taken by surprise at this since the composure that she had seen him grant before she had approached him had been that of a great maturity level. All in all, he did not seem to be bad in any way. Fira could tell that he did not seem to be an evil being, which was a relief to her since she had come across so many, and she could not help but to frown at her earlier thoughts of him being someone of harm. What was the world coming to? She should have known that she could trust him. Kaail was in a forest and forest was sanctuary. The woman bit her lip lightly and thought, ’Do evil people even come into the forests?’ She had yet to meet one who had.
”My name is Fira Trist. I am really just a wandering sorceress.” She laughed sheepishly. There really was nothing more for her to say about herself. ”It is a pleasure to meet you, Kaail.”
Kaail - June 12, 2008 01:01 AM (GMT)
He watched her take him in. Smiling in tune with her own smile, he shook her hand, and let the chirping of the birds above take him somewhere else. Suddenly, he went rigid. Looking slowly around, he heard the strange sound again. He squinted, thinking, and then it dawned on him.
"Shhhh..." he said, losing all thought except for the one guiding him at the moment. He made his way slowly, and silently to the edge of the clearing, hugging close to a tree. He was a silent hunter, and he had gotten used to tracking, and remembering the specific sounds different animals made.
His eyes lit up happily when he saw the wild boar. It was a juvenile, not confident enough in its growth to attack. Stepping out, he knelt, letting the small boar spot him. He reached into his pack, plucking a small morsel of dried meat from his storage pouch. He held it out for the boar to eat.
He smiled warmly.

(OOC: I am sorry about these longs posts, but I cannot really do anything about them. Do not let them get you “down” though. ^_^ It is hard work to post at least 300 words.)
There was some sort of attribute about Kaail or perhaps it was even his aura. In any case, it made Fira feel as though she had known him for all of her life in some sort of odd way. She shifted through the many thoughts within her mind and could not find anything even close to resembling an answer to this. It looked as though she would have to either figure it out on her own or drop the idea altogether.
Yet she did not have a long portion of time to dwell upon this; for the blue-hazel eyed man had heard something from within the forest and had gone to investigate it. Unsure as to what he could have heard, and also being incompetent with the sounds of the animals, the orange haired woman remained where she had met Kaail until she saw a young, wild boar appear close to the borderlines of the clearing. She let out a breath of air that had been contained inside of her since she had become tense. Rigidly, Fira removed her left hand from the hilt of her sword and decided to approach Kaail and the wild creature. The boar itself seemed to be perfectly harmless and content with the fact that the mercenary was low to the ground before it.
With a smile, Fira stayed behind Kaail and whispered in a tone with clear awe, ”Wow…” It was all that she found herself able to say about the even that was happening in front of her. She was amazed at the appearance of the boar, but she was also amazed at the way how Kaail had seemed to recognize the noise and had moved with what seemed to be instinct. Looking back through her memories, the woman could not even remember him faltering in any way. Feeling the need to compliment him on this, she added, ”You have a great talent… Or, I mean to say, I great amount of knowledge.”

Raigor was in a heated battle against an overgrown lion, he wanted to test his abilities without his mace, that is the reason why he left it on the ground.
He was bleeding in two places, his right thigh, and his left arm, his arm got bitten by the teeth of the lion, while his thigh got badly clawed. The lumbering beast wasn't even tired yet, Raigor couldn't create a tremor in this state, snorting, he charged straight to the huge bear, tossing it away with his humongous horns, the huge creature flew towards a nearby tree, then dropped down to the ground, shaking it momentarily.
Raigor fell on one knee, breathing heavily, he couldn't reach his mace, what a foolish way to die, a warrior, dying because of his pride, the muscular Tauren stood, making sure the lion wouldn't think he was a weak creature, because it would open to more ferocious attacks from the beast, he stood slightly bent, bleeding, staining the ground with his blood, the lion got pierced by one sharp branch in the tree, but it didn't bring the huge creature down.
"Bring it on", the lion let out a powerful war cry, one which would scare the hell out of other creatures, but not this Tauren, he stood tall, and proud, waiting for death to take him, ashamed of his foolishness, he was losing wisdom in his old age, death was ready to take him, more than eager, he suspected, because Raigor had escaped death many times, like when he should have been pierced by a spiked stone when he fell down a cliff, he missed it by a few inches, the Earthmother had given him luck, but it has run out, his foolishness brought him this shameful death, he readied himself then took a fighting stance, while the lion crouched it's hind legs, then leaped, graceful, this would have been an incredible sight to see, if he had not been in this state, Raigor roared, then leaped towards the lion, fist retracted, ready to punch, and embracing death itself, his fist got the lion on it's face, but it's claws got his left arm, Raigor let out a painful cry, he was losing vision, red haze, he stumbled down, unconcious.
