It was getting late, nightfall almost failed upon Lómëdor, when large trade ship has arrived into the port. Thanis was walking down the stairs with glory, her old friend was waiting for her. She was nervous, after all it was her first time traveling so far from home. Her purpose here is business, she wants to make some gold thats all. She is skilled ranger so it will not be so hard for her to survive here.

"Ah old friend! How long has it bean five? Ten years?" - she smiled with joy addressing to the tall, dark haired woman in port.

"Dear Thanis, sister, I missed you a lot, glad you came here!" Sabriel grabbed her bag, and took her arm, they walked towards exit from the ports. Smell of the ocean, was still disturbing her nose. She smiled at her "As soon as I got your letter, excitement never left me"

"It's too late to travel, we gonna stay at Inn today, and leave to my lands first thing in the morning. But we got so much time to talk! They left the ports walking through tiny streets of Lómëdor. An old friend listened to her carefully waiting for her turn tell the stories.

"Thank you so much for warm welcome!" - she replied with the smile. "TYou still practicing dark magic, I see! It was seven years since our graduation from academy. Remember how we use to sneak out during nights and go to the local pubs, fighting drunkards. But many things changed since then, I'm now only kill for reward and not for fun as it use to be!" - they past the pub, Thanis asked if they could walk in for small drink, "I'm little thirsty!"

Sabriel nodded silently. They walked into the bar, all man looked them with month open. She walked to the bartender, "Two regulars please!" Bartender nodded - Just a moment miss!. He passed to mugs to old friends. Sabriel toasted - "For the meeting, old friend!! They drank it quickly, she gave bartender a sign to hit it once more. "Thanis, how are your parents doing? They still own that farm at Shiverpeacks?" She started to laugh - "I killed that Yak by accident, I swear! I remember I got in a lot of trouble that night!

"I know, I know! They doing fine, business going well, everything as it's use to be! She shacked the mug - "Well not exactly the same, current king is foolish, he sells his kingdom part by part, soon there will be nothing to sell" She looked down- "I think I'll have to kill him soon, to stop his crimes ... Or maybe I'll pay someone else to do it for me" She fixed her tunic - It's late we should head to the Inn, don't you think? They walked out, - "Lets head to nearest grocery shop, I need some stuff to buy."

Sabriel offered Thanis a cigar, the last one refused. Sabriel light it up and globs of smoke fill the empty streets. Grocery shops are all closed by now. Moon was hiding behind the clouds as they walk further in the town of Lómëdor. All of sudden girls heard a food steps behind them, turning around they saw two thieves catching up to them. "Hey girlies, looking for some fun?" - one of them said with evil smile. Sabriel and Thanis stopped, looked at each other, then turned and walked towards thieves - "Yeah, why not!". Both girls hugged the man, two seconds later nasty males dropped on the cold ground with open eyes, as ladies stabbed them with daggers.
Laughing loudly they continued walking.

"That was fun! Just like old times!" - they continued laughing heavily, because it wasn't a first time this happened, it is like a Deja Vu, every time some man asks for some fun, they look into each other eyes, say "yes" and kill them all. Many memories to remember. They reached the Inn, Thanis raised her head and stared at moon for awhile, then she asked Sabriel gently. "Can we get the room with sight of the moon please? Sabriel nodded and walked in. Thanis didn't made her wait long and followed her inside. The room was filled with smells of food. "Just like at home!" - she thought.

"Sure thing sister!" - Thanis was like a sister to her, always trying to protect her, help her at any situation, Sabriel always returned favors. She walked into the lobby and speaking with old woman, she looked about 60 but her voice sounded much younger. "May I help you?" - InnKeeper asked. "We would like a two bed room, on north side please!". Ah, you like watching the moon! I see. - old lady hanged papers to Sabriel. She sat at sofa, it was cozy, she relaxed and closed her eyes. She didn't like filling papers out, she thought it was boring, but making guest do it was rude, so she had no choice.

Thanis just walked in the room, from side to side, getting familiar with the place. Walls were painted beige, all furniture was old, brown wood and red silk was main team in the hall, paintings on the wall illustrated nature of the Lomedor, giant candles all around the place were half way dead. Just a usual Inn, but something about it was odd, uncomfortably odd.

She finished with papers and handed in to the InnKeeper along with the pile of gold, allowing her to keep the change. Then she took her friend's hand and leaded her upstairs to the room. Opening the door she heard the sound of the neighbors playing cards, she knew Thanis was a a big gambler, so she tried not to draw her attention to that. "Hey Thanis, which bed do you choose?" They settled in, while Sabriel was changing into her sleepwear, her friend was staring at moon sitting on the chair by the window. Windows were open, cool breeze were tickling Sabriel's senses causing her to smile.
