Title: City on fire
Description: Open

Slypher Greywind - May 8, 2008 02:13 PM (GMT)
Slypher hid quietly in the bushes on the very outskirts of the city as he watched people move around the city as the last light of day began to fade from the sky. Some people where headed in and out the bars. The ones entering smiled thinking of the good time they thought they where going to have. And the ones leaving where so drunk that they could barely even stand let alone walk home. And of course they where causing trouble for every one. And all the gaurds would do was point and laugh. He watched for a little longer as he watched theives walking around, picking pokets left and right.

A voice spoke to him in his head. 'Such a corrupt city. It should not be allowed to go on thriving. And it is a small town at that, so they won't have an army. And the city gaurd won't be a problem.'

A smile came across Slyphers face. His hair turned from it's normal brown color to black, and his eyes became a deep, dark red, that seemed to pierce the night, and wings burst out of his back. And now, as if on cue, the wind began to pick up and lightning split the sky.

Slypher spoke softly. "There's a hole in the world like a great black pit, and it's filled with people who are filled with mullet, and the vermine of the world inhabit it." Slyphed smiled an evil smile. "But not for long."

Slypher burst from the bushed and took flight into the city. A city gaurd saw the demon moving into the town, and began to run to sound the alarm. He was, however not fast enough. Slyphers mace made contact with the side of the gaurds head, crushing the metal of the gaurds helmet against his skull. The gaurd was dead before he even hit the ground and blood began to flow onto the ground, but Slypher was already gone, on the prowl for more victims.

Nathaniel M. Rystoff - May 8, 2008 10:29 PM (GMT)
Nathaniel was within Estolad at the time, searching for more information on the Bureau of Abyssal Defense and Investigation, a rival guild he'd had the fortune of encountering here a few weeks prior. It hadn't been his head they had sought, and the information they'd carelessly leaked to him was enough to bring back to Shadovar in a formal report. Later he intended a meeting, though given the attendance of the last meeting he still had some reservations about such an undertaking.

Alright, perhaps he was a little socially awkward as well. Given that half of them would enjoy his head on a plate, and the other half made his stomach turn, it was a poor idea. But it would be worse to keep this information to himself and not act on it; what if he was declared a spy, or a traitor? There were a few allies he had, but what was that against the majority? Even if they did debunk the claims, there would always be that lingering doubt that shadowed his footsteps, the painted target on his back that outcast him.

Unlike some shady beings, Nathaniel was not one who enjoyed solitude or acting as a lone wolf.

But back to the topic at hand. The warrior was currently standing against the side of the Kaima Inn, the very bar he'd run into the trio to begin with. Rather than go inside and snoop out clues (the temptation to drink until he was asleep on the floor would be too much, he was aware), the Shadovar member had taken to eying those who entered and exited, judging them. Nathaniel had never been a terribly strong judge of character, but he figured anyone with 'BADI' tattooed on their forehead would be worth stopping. And the patrons who were smaller than him, and weren't as keen to pick a fight.

Already night was setting, and he'd been here since the sun had met its climax within the sky. Now dark, angry clouds rolled in, and the angry howl of the wind could be heard. Wooden signs slammed helplessly against the frames of buildings, clacking loudly. Above lightening tore through the clouds in vicious spite. Nathaniel even imagined he heard the beating of wings against the cold air, but quickly dismissed it. What creature would actually be foolish enough to take flight in a lightening storm?

Then a wail of steel assaulted his ears, followed by a rather gruesome crunch. His bare hand grasped the hilt of his blade uncertainly, the man's footfalls slow as he moved from his perch. Warily the warrior approached where the noise had come from, body tense and senses alert. A rumble overhead crawled across the clouds, but his eyes were narrowed; focused for whatever that noise had been -- and whatever had caused it.

Slypher Greywind - May 9, 2008 01:00 AM (GMT)
Slypher watched as this creature began to move towards the area where he had killed the gaurd. He smiled, it looked like he would have an actual fight on his hands this time. Unlike these simpe gaurds. Well what better way to get his attention then with a dead body?

Slypher tossed the body of a dead gaurd in the direction of the man that was walking in his direction. "What do you want?" He asked, stepping forward into enough light for him to be seen. "You don't intend to try and stop me do you?" He asked. "These people are little more than vermin and would be much better off dead." He said, his hand gripping his mace tightly.

Slypher could hear the screams of the citizens as they saw the half-demon in his demon form. He was use to it be know of course. People where always afraid of what they diffrent. Well if they where so intolerable of his kind, he would be intolerable to theirs as well.

He slowly started advancing on the man a slight smile on his face. "Why do they deserve to live? Why do you deserve to live?" He asked, his smile growing as his dark red eyes pierced the night. "Tell me, what god do you want to be sent to?" He asked.

Nathaniel moved swiftly to the side as the corpse was hurled, the body landing with a dull thump with its arm outstretched upon his boot-clad foot. The human eyed the corpse with disgust, then sneered and withdrew himself from its presence. “A god, fiend? I would offer the same to you, but I wouldn’t wish your hide upon any.” The hand remained tight on the hilt of Baphomet, though the warrior did not yet draw on his physical strength.

The beast advanced, and Nathaniel took a few steps back to keep them evenly spaced apart. Then, cautiously, he began to circle the other. The wide stance was still given, so that the human would have time dodge if it decided to lunge at him. Dark eyes analyzed the pair of demonic wings, the glowing red eyes; deciding where the best place to strike might fall. Perhaps he could gut it like a fish...

"What do I want, beast?" The words drawled slowly from the concentrating figure, pulled out slowly. "I want your head. It seems the feelings are mutual; your kind need to be buried back in the ditch they wormed their way out of." Another scream sounded, a woman running past quickly as the area was quickly deserted. The guards were likely amassing their forces, though they'd spend the time planning first.

That was fine. He could handle one demon on his own.

Nathaniel continued to stride broadly, the chill wind good against his feverish skin. It wasn't often the human got to fight one on one, especially against something he so wished to see dead. The human race was the most powerful throughout Arda, an if he had to claw their legacy from the bellies of others -- well, he'd gladly tear every tooth and nail upon their leathery bellies.

"Did you know," The man commented conversationally, voice raising so as to beat out the loud whipping of the wind. "Your chances of being struck by lightening are over four times more likely than having your prayer answered?" His left foot slid in the dirt, calculated, simple. Every part of his body was heaving within, fast working to spell the creature's doom.

"Tell me your name, cretin. Before I return you to Mother Worm." Without warning he suddenly lunged forward, though it was hardly half a step and still put him out of range. As soon as his hand and knee connected with the compact earth, a great bolt of lightening seemed to slam from the sky, aiming for the demonic target as commanded by the mortal.

orka_jade - May 10, 2008 09:25 PM (GMT)
Orka is in the form of a small squirrel sitting on roof top watching everything unfold and smiles seeing Slypher as he claps his little squirrels hands and points "You will not have my squirrelly wrath stopped this time!" Orka smirks as he yells He's finally gunna get whats coming to him! The shifter thinks as he starts dancing in his little squirrelly form shaking his tail and hopping up and down.
