Title: Naive Fairy
Imril Garnes - April 20, 2008 04:18 AM (GMT)
There was a tiny little fairy fluttering around the area. She was lost, having simply gone in the first forest she saw because she was familiar with forests. Imril Garnes was a mere 6 centimeters tall, but left a glowing trail of dust in her wake, so she was easy to spot. She was scared of humans and other creatures, but was quick to naively trust pretty much anyone who even pretended to be good. She wasn't very smart, either. More of a ditz then anything else. Odd's are, somewhere along the line, she'd be taken advantage of somehow. Would it be today? Who knew.

Eric took a deep breath of the fresh air and exhaled softly, leaning against a tree. He loved forests. Usually full of animals, plants, just wildlife in general found themselves to be fascinating. His sword had dug into the ground behind him, which was the only thing he really carried around with him, aside from food rations. Pulling out his Orcarina, he looked at it for a moment. Green as the trees with a silver tint near the top. It had been a gift from his late fiancee that had died 3 years past. He closed his eyes, beginning to play a soothng tune.

Imril heard the music, and found herself drawn to it. It was a sweet tune, she liked it a lot. So she flew over a little bit away from Eric, and sat on the grass and listened. She was a very quiet sort of fairy, so she didn't speak up, nor did she try to make her presence known. Aah, Eric sort of frightened her, he was about 400 times her size, after all. She found herself very enchanted by the music, so she relaxed. It felt good to relax. She ketp listening to the music, slowly tiptoeing her way closer and closer to Eric, drawn to the ocarina's tune.

Eric continued to play the same calm, and relaxing music for about another five minutes. He thought he had saw someting move, but decided it to be merely his imagination. He was tired after all, having lost a couple days of sleep. As he finished up the song, his head had fallen back to lean against the tree and closed his eyes, his Orcarina in his palm. He smiled to himselfm letting the wind breeze his hair.

Imril, slightly dazed, flew over to the sleeping Eric. What to do now? Well, she decided to land on his stomach. He was warm, after all, as a human. She felt pretty tired too, so she laid down on him. She had no intention of sleeping, just resting.
5 minutes later, Imril was faaaaast asleep, on top of Eric, snuggled into his shirt for warmth. Imril actually had a sleeping disorder, once she was out, SHE WAS OUT. A very VERY deep sleeper, that's what she was. So When Eric woke up, no doubt Imril would be fast asleep, still on his shirt.

About an hour later, Eric awoke with a yawn, not actually getting up. He blinked for a moment, trying to remember where he was and it all came back to him in a minute. He was a bit confused whenever he woke up, so he always checked of his surroundings. "Do I have a stain on my shirt?.." He rose an eyebrow as he looked down upon his clothing to find something...nay someone resting on his chest.
"Uhh...Whuh?" He mumbled aloud, wondering if he should wake up Imril or not. He would feel bad as the fairy looked like she was in a deep sleep. "...I'll just..wait and play some more." He thought to himself, pulling out his Orcarina again and played a quiet tune, not to wake the tiny fairy.

Imril's sleep was more or less deepened by this lullaby of sorts, so she cuddled against Eric's shirt, wrapping herself in it as she slept, like a blanket. Pure innocence and vulnerability, right there. The wind blew lightly, and as it did, some dust from Imril's wings collected on Eric's shirt. Imril was very quiet as she slept, and motionless, aside from her earlier action of wrapping herself up.

Eric smiled slightly as the tiny figured beneath him. "Adorable." He mused, and stopped playing his Orcarina. Truth be told, he really didn't have to go anywhere and he was in no rush to get up. He would wait for Imril to wake up before he went on his way. Waking a deep sleeper was a bad thing to do in his opinion and he had a long set of morals he himself promised to follow. The dust would be hard to wash out though..

Several hours later, Imril woke up. She sat up, and rubbed her eyes. She then noticed Eric was awake. Letting out a terrified shriek at the site of a human this close and awake, she flew as quickly as she could up into a tree. Humans TERRIFIED her.

Eric rose an eyebrow as he sat up, brushing the fairy's dust off of his shirt. As soon as he saw the tiny being wake up, she had quickly zoomed up into the tree near him. "What was that all about?" He asked aloud, scratching his head and looked up, trying to find the Imril. "I'm not going to hurt you, it's okay!" He exclaimed, but not too loudly.

Imril hid behind a cluster of acorns. Apparently it was an Oak tree she hid in. Humans terrified her, and the only reason she had approached Eric earlier was because of the music and the fact he wasn't aware she was there. It was entirely reasonable to be scared of people. They were 400 times her size, she couldn't immediately tell who was good and who was bad, and there was even a trade in fairies, so she may even get captured and sold some day. In bizarre contrast to this, though, was the fact she was quick to trust people, and was easily tricked.

The young paladin sighed deeply, as he looked around the forest. It was a bit unfamiliar to him and he had gotten a bit lost, truth be told. He forgot which way he had came in and which wasy he was supposed to go to. "Shoot..maybe it can help me out.." He mumbled to himself, standing up carefully. He went over to the oak tree and looked up, hoping the creature would still be there. "Excuse me, but do you know the way out?" He asked politely, though people would think he was talking to thin air and be crazy.
Imril Garnes - April 20, 2008 06:46 PM (GMT)
Imril hefted a twig, which to her would be the rough size of a spear, and poked it out from behind her hiding place, pointing it northeast, the way she had come into the forest, and what she thought was the closest exit.
"O-O-Over there..." She hoped he'd leave soon! Really soon! He didn't seem bad, he did say he wouldn't hurt her, but that also didn't rule out the possibility of him being a fairy hunter at the same time. She was confused what to do, and confused people, even fairies, acted oddly. Though she could probably be coaxed out if Eric was smart, or just decided to play his ocarina again.

"Not too far, I guess. That's no the way I came in, so looks like I'll be heading on the right path." Eric said aloud and looked back up at the tree, smiling. "Thank you for your help." he said, taking steps towards the 'exit'. While he did so, he pulled out his musical instrument again and began to play. He enjoyed his own music. Made him think that the whole earth was at peace and calmed his nerves. Lately he had been restless and for some reason, unable to sleep.
"That fairy was a bit timid. I wonder if they're all like that." He thought to himself.

Imril fluttered from tree to tree, following Eric to the forest's rim, enjoying his music. She had to fight back the urge to follow him outright, but she was staying within 6 feet. She watched him leave the forest. Imril hoped other humans could make music like that. She wondered what he thought of her and fairies in general. hopefully she hadn't been the first fairy he'd seen. She was a disgraqce to Fairies in general, most were tricksters and loved pranking people. Imril was too shy for that.
