Title: What to do on a sunny day
Wyren Mardes - April 7, 2008 01:37 AM (GMT)
The wood was peaceful at this time of day, noonish, the sun scoured the rest of the land but the wood so covered in foliage was quite pleasant to be sitting in. Thats at least how Wyren saw it, it was such a pleasant place after all. Calm cool and tranquil it was nice to know that one could seek a moment of peace here. The half demon sat with his staff in front of him cross legged.
He had sat there for a good part of the day, a few hours due to the fact it was such a nice place, but then the other few due to the fact his legs had fallen asleep from sitting in such a way for so long. He could not help but feel a little stupid. He had considered uncrossing them a few times but felt it too risky, the likelihood of his leg getting that nasty needly feeling were high. He sighed, he was growing quite bored at this point.
Looking at him and hearing of his present predicament, not many would guess this boy was of demon lineage. The only few hints were shown nondescriptly scattered throughout his appearance. His teeth were sharpened into fangs, his nails came to natural points, spiraled horns came through his hair rising from his scalp and though one could only tell from up close his eyes were slit like those of a cat.
Sighing once more he uncrossed his leg and twitched, he had been right. The needly feeling was coming upon him right on time. He grabbed his staff and forced himself onto his feet. He looked around the now familiar landscape and realized now that he was up, he really had no where to go. Looking at the fruit on the nearby tree he took a piece and bit into it. Sitting with numb legs worked up an appetite.
Meglumar - April 7, 2008 01:56 AM (GMT)
Meglumar was walking away from his campsite, having just bid farewell to the young elf cleric he had agreed to protect from wild beasts. He was still tired, not having slept that night, but it did not matter. He could go for a while longer without sleep, hopefully. It's still not safe to sleep, so he had to make sure he got out of the forest, and to a nearby town.
As he did, though, he saw someone out of the corner of his eye. Who could that be? He wore green clothing and a green cloak, one not unlike his. It was different, though, in that it lacked a hood. He had a staff in hand, no too much unlike the elf he had just bid farewell. Very interesting. He seemed to be seeing all sorts of unique people in these woods. He'd have to make sure to come back later.
"Hello there!" Meglumar said, with a slight hint of drowsiness in his voice. He wanted to get this person's attention, but not in a surprising way. "Might I ask what you are doing in these woods this day?" He found himself curious of this person. Perhaps answering the elves questions gave him a sense of curiosity in others now?
Laeinu - April 7, 2008 02:04 AM (GMT)
Sareus approached. He had spotted the boy amongst the brush of the forest - after escaping an interesting experience with a certain yrchish scout, who happened to have his head crushed in on itself. He was gripping a tended wound on his upper-arm, and approached quietly, keeping his gaze on the boy as he regripped his staff. He raised his voice a bit, now within about fifty yards. "Hail! Please tell me you've got some food?" he questioned, finally stepping within about thirty feet of him. The man looked exhausted. Stubble covered his face, and he looked a little bruised up.
The man was dressed in simple clothing. Brown boots, a pair of fitted, but loose pants - which have a few pieces of dark-brown leather reinforcement on the shins and thighs. A belt secures around his waist, colored black as well. An empty scabbard lies on the hip of the belt, while a dull-green shirt sits tucked into it, covered by a tabard, dyed beige. It looks torn up - as if it were cut by blades, and ripped by sheer exposure to the elements. A tattered wyvern sits emblazoned on the front and back of it - it's tail wrapped around a glass goblet. It's faded though, and barely recognizable. His eyes seemed distant, despite the authority behind his voice.
Wyren Mardes - April 7, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
Wyren looked up in surprise sending a jolt down his still slightly dumbfounded legs causing him to drop his piece of fruit and hop up and down in pain and then just to regain his balance. He grabbed his staff and used it to keep him upward and then placed his foot down again once he felt it was likely not to send the nasty shocks down it again. He then looked up to see the owner of the voice.
He seemed to be a fully grown man, taller than him by a few inches. The man wore a cloak with a hood and mask. He also seemed to be a man who had not slept in awhile based on his appearance, however the way he was acting gave off a different standpoint where one might assume he was completely awake, or at least more so than the young half demon's legs were.
Wyren stumbled once more before finally waving in greeting. Smiling but not too broadly, more a smirk due to his current pain. However it began to recede and he straightened before answering the stranger. "Im here hiding a little but being stupid otherwise, I actually tried leaving a few hours ago but my legs fell asleep." He wiggled his one foot to illustrate. "Originally I was just trying to find a calm spot to clear my head though"
As another man approached and asked for some food, the boys head slumped "Obviously I failed in finding one." He did point at the tree however "The fruit here is good for eating have at it if you wish." This other man looked older and more wilder than the first. Wyren couldnt tell which he should trust more...both hid their face one with a mask and one with facial hair..however the latter could be unintentional. He wasnt sure if it really mattered anyway so he simply leaned on his staff
Laeinu - April 7, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
Sareus shifted again. He seemed to appreciate the mans help, but didn't seem to be in the position to climb a tree. Despite, he stretched a little, stepping over to it in silence, and lifting his staff enough to knock a piece of fruit down. Tumbling simply, he caught it in his free hand, sliding his staff down until the blunt end tapped the ground. Satisfied, he bit into it, seeming to utterly enjoy the experience. He didn't pay much attention to the others, despite their help - he seemed a little dehydrated, but freshness returned to his face gradually after consuming the fruit. Running a hand through his hair, he turned back to the man, leveling his eyes on him and cracking a smile.
"Thank you." he said simply, dipping his head towards him. His eyes then shifted towards the other man, acknowledging him as well.
"I didn't intrude on anything..Did I?"

Midori was buzzing about this forest quietly and calmly. He was glancing down and saw a few people talking or staring. Ether way there were a few people down there. He thought about try to get over his shyness again. It was difficult, but he thought it would help him. Midori flew down into sight range for the people. Not making much noise besides the almost silent sound of his wings flapping he waited to see if he would be noticed and decided to say nothing at all. He thought it was a break through atleast. He wasn't hiding from them atleast like he would normally do. He just hoped any of these people would try to injury or hurt him in anyway. He listened as the one of them asked about food. Midori might offer him something if he had anything. He didn't think a fizzy drink would count as food. Also he didn't think he would eat a flower, pretty much thats all Midori had on him besides his staff and spell books. It seems as they were settling for fruit.
Meglumar - April 7, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
Meglumar looked to the younger male and laughed at his response. He seemed to be quite the funny one. "I see, I see. Legs falling asleep...always a pain, isn't it? Maybe I could help you..." he thought. He wasn't sure if his healing magics could remove the sensation, but maybe it was possible, right?
He then saw someone else walk into view. Wow, this forest was just FULL of people! He seemed a bit wounded, and was asking the other person if he had any food, to which the boy responded with a no. The other man then responded with a thanks, and asked if he was intruding. "No, no, not at all." He said, simply. "Just started talking. Though, if you're looking for food, I might be able to help. I just left my camp site, and I left some boar meet on a boar I killed. We could all head back there, and make a quick meal, if need be. I'd hate to see anyone out here get too hungry." He said, wanting to help.
"Though...you both seem to have minor problems with yourselves. Perhaps I can help your injuries and pains? I am a paladin, and have some minor healing skills." He said, his hands glowing with a blue light as he prepared to heal their wounds, if they needed it. "It would be no trouble at all, and it would take but a moment." He said, trying to be as kind as possible. He was still not used to dealing with people, but he was MUCH better with less people than with more. Had there been 10 people instead of 2, he would probably be stuttering at this point. And at least they were not females. Thank the gods for that!
Laeinu - April 7, 2008 02:44 AM (GMT)
Sareus spotted the fae out of the corner of his eye. He seemed a little more under control of himself now - it had been atleast a day since the attack. The wound on his shoulder looked healed enough to keep him going without problems, but the man did seem to appreciate his offer for help.
"That's alright. It's healed over now, and whatever poison that was on the arrow has gone through my system already. I must thank you for your offer though, you seem gracious enough. I suppose it'd be good if I introduced myself. Laeinu Soian. he pauses, as if he were to say more, before stopping, deciding it would be best not to continue. With that, he offers a strained smile, and dips his head towards the man. By now - he's slipped his staff away, dangling from straps across his back.
Wyren Mardes - April 7, 2008 02:47 AM (GMT)
At the older mans question Wyren shrugged "I dunno, it depends on your meaning, if you mean the two of us, no, I dont think we had yet embarked into the world of conversation enough to be considered to be interrupted, however if you look at natures point of view..Im sure your walking pattern disrupted and killed a few insects and possibly your wound itself confused many animals trying to hunt but alas...such is life." He smiled mischievously as he shrugged
As the paladin offered to heal his leg Wyren actually chuckled a little as he spoke while making a full circle with his hands and crossing it with a pentagram "Curia sum" His hand glowed blue and ruins circled his wrist "Dont waste you energy on me, Im a sorcerer, kinda, a little, well I can do some basic things." He waved his hand along his leg and the pinched veins flexed inside opening and allowing the blood to flow. Immediately he stood straighter.
After doing this he blinked a few times. He then proceeded to look from his hand to his legs and then angrily waved his arms "You mean I could have done that hours ago?!" He went up to the tree and slammed his head into it thrice before returning back to his starting position "Thats better..."
He looked over at the older man again "Pleasure to meet you," He forced himself into the introduction, knowing it was rude but disliking being ignored "Im Wyren, so Laeinu, what did you do to deserve a poisoned arrow in the shoulder?"
Laeinu - April 7, 2008 02:52 AM (GMT)
A slight raise of Laeinu's eyebrow suggested a bit of confusion - perhaps moreso embarrassment for the other man who had gone about acting as he did. He forced back a smile, sliding his boot along the undergrowth as he babbled on about things he wasn't too keen on paying attention to. When he finally finished speaking, he glanced up, a quirky smile crossed over his lips.
"A simple No would have been just fine. As for the shoulder wound? I was making my way through this forest, and happened across a yrchish scout. He managed to hit me before I could dispatch him, and I've been walking with the wound since."
He says, rather matter-of-factly. And with that he adjusts a little more, tugging his shirt down from underneath his belt just a little further - enough to cover the tops of his pants well enough. He does the same with the tabard he wears, but manages to rip it just a little further. With a sigh, he glances over at the more...stable looking man who offered to heal the wounds.
"You wouldn't happen to know of any towns nearby here, would you? I'm afraid I've been..Travelling..for quite some time, and I haven't seen much except desert and grasslands..And now woods. You're the first folk I've come across, infact."he paused, assessing the situation. While the other two were still in conversation, he slipped away, breaking off on his own again. He didn't seem to have as much luck as he would have liked..And these two didn't seem the type to be able to point him in the right direction. How could they know where to go if they were as lost as he was?
Hriky - April 8, 2008 07:43 PM (GMT)
Midori laughed to himself but not to be heard by anyone when one of them stated the obvious. Midori thought it was funny, it was also true. He listened and thought as the man asked for a town. He finally spoke up. " I know one, Lómëdor. It may not be close but it is prolific and has almost everything you could want in a city." Midori said but not sounding interested in the city himself.flying into the sight of the person and pointing south. "It is along the coastline to the south slightly east." he added. The only reason he knew it was south would be the fact of the sun above. It was slightly past noon and the sun was leaning to the east a bit.
Meglumar - April 8, 2008 10:38 PM (GMT)
Meglumar saw the bespectacled sorcerer, or so he seemed to be, heal his own legs, and then promptly freak out as he realized he could have been up and moving earlier. Meglumar chuckled nervously at this, as it was somewhat amusing, but in general laughing at masters of magic was a not so smart idea. You could end up as a frog or a monkey if you offended them, and while this Magic wielding warrior looked level headed, it was better to be on the side of caution. Doing so tended to let him get away from situations with less wounds.
The wounded man then asked where a city might be. He was about to suggest Lómëdor, hen another voice said it. Well, where did that come from?! He looked around, and saw the source. WHOA! A pixie! Or was it a fairy? What was the difference? Oh well, did it matter at the moment. He smiled behind his mask, and nodded. "Yeah, Lómëdor's where you want to be. It's rather large, and very noisy, but if you want anything, you'll likely find it there. Just...be aware around the docks. someone or something might push you into the water." He said, remembering a small accident he barely avoided.
He then looked around at the scene. A half Naiad Paladin, a wounded....ranger from the looks of him, A sorcerer with a comical side, and a fairy. All that was missing was a pub, and this would have the makings of a great joke. But....well, what would happen now? Meglumar was just trying to head out of the forest, and now he was surrounded by strange new people. He was not sure what to do. This had never happened to him before!

| Say, Laeinu, could you please not post so often? It's hard to think of a post when you've got like 2 posts between my every one. |
Wyren Mardes - April 9, 2008 01:07 AM (GMT)
Wyren calmly turned to the injured man and shrugged "I cant help with that, I in general try to avoid them, too noisy, too many people...too human?" He smiled a little before he heard a smaller voice provide the information for the man instead. He looked around for awhile before spotting it and his eyes went wide with glee and fascination. It was rare to see anything of this sort and to a sorcerer like Wyren he found it most bemusing
He looked up at the pixie or fairy for awhile and contemplated on catching it for study. He would call it frank and feed it pickles, or maybe radishes if he wouldnt eat the pickles. He'd have it run on a little wheel twice a day, yes that would be interesting. Wyren shook the idea out of his head reminding himself that no matter how tiny the creature was it was still a sentient being.
He looked over at the Naiad "And you? Where do you happen to be going this day, hopefully from looking at you it involves cushions and sheets and possibly four posts"

((OOC: Dude, that sounded harsh. Don't be haten on fairies!))
Midori clapped his hands together and said, "Well, I guess I will be on my way." He just flew towards the trees. He was goign to watch them from there. He had gained in interest in watching people from a distance. He was always curious and wanted to know more. Midori wished he had a good friend to be around though. He didn't think any of these people who be that friend. He thought back to the spring festival. He only really came close to one person but he was ignored then. He sat in the tree watching the three people. He leaned against the trunk and hanged one foot off. He started to dream about the future.

What? Cushions? Sheets? 4 posts? did he mean a bed? Probably, he must look like a wreck, even with the mask on. "Me? Well, I go wherever the road takes me, doing good for anyone and everyone in need! I need no rest so long as the people around me are in need of protecting!" He said, doing his best to sound convincing. Which, in his current state, was not very convincing. He then sighed, realizing how obvious it was he was tired. "Or....maybe an Inn will suffice, really. I have not slept since I spent the night protecting the poor elfen cleric." He muttered, feeling the bags under his eyes.
Wyren Mardes - April 17, 2008 12:40 AM (GMT)
Wyren nodded understanding. "It must be interesting traveling around in all sorts of different places and meeting all sorts of different people. Im thinking maybe I should try it sometime." Wyren looked back up at the sky to see the fairy fly off, a little disappointed, he would have liked to talk to the individual some more.
Wyren shrugged at Meglumars comment about the inn "I cant really help you at all in either area, I really dont sleep much period and when I do its never inside the town."
