Title: Hiding in the tower (open)

Jellian - April 2, 2008 12:42 PM (GMT)
Having traveled alone since midday, Jellian found himself exhausted, at an area that was new to him, A large tower, seemingly abandoned. Knowing he would find no better shelter before sundown, Jellian stopped and pitched his tent.

The night air was cold, but the fire he had prepared was warm enough, he didn't think he would have to worry about anyone coming around for the night, so he didn't take his usual precautions of hiding the light of the fire. it was set, plain as day, in the center of the tower, on the ground floor. Light illuminated from the tower door, down the patches of surrounding trees.

Jellian sat next to the fire, half asleep. His sword by his side, and his cloak as his blanket. Jellian tried for a silent millenia to sleep, but failed, as he laid awake, watching the fire slowly burn out.

Karasu - April 2, 2008 05:03 PM (GMT)
Ah, night. Glorious night! It had been a few hours since nightfall, and Karasu was one happy assassin, signified by the trail of blood following him. If one paid extremely close attention, they would see that every so often, a claw would shoot out of his cloak and decapitate something. He kept the head in his cloak until it stopped dripping blood, and then he threw it aside.

This went on until, oh, around 2:AM, and something was immediately wrong. Something was... There! A light? It was dim, but it was there. "Well I just might get someone to talk to... Or some more blood, it depends." He said to himself. He began walking toward the light, which was illuminating some trees, and appeared to come from the ground floor of a large obelisk. "Ground floor? It was pure luck that I noticed it..." Karasu thought as he neared the fire. There was a man sitting next to the fire, he appeared to be human. "Why hello there! And what are you doing out on this night?"

Talkina - April 2, 2008 08:13 PM (GMT)
Talkina muttered something about being cold. She was soaking wet, kicked out of her job, and shunned by Lomedor. She just fell into the river and now, she was freezing. She need the warmth of the sun, or something that releases energy, again. It was in the night, where there was no light except the moon and stars, and she was tired.

She came upon the Accident Tower, from what she remembered. It was a big looming shadow that blocked the twinkling stars, which scared the wits out of the half-angel. Inside the tower, a light shone. Warmth she thought. She hurried over to the entrance and gasped. A young man, tall and pale, stood in the doorway. She started to draw back, but tripped over a rock and landed on her back, quite winded.

Jellian - April 2, 2008 10:20 PM (GMT)
Half asleep, Jellian realised that two people, both a man, and a women had entered his temporary home. his sword, which lay out in front of him, slid away from him as he went to get it. In his haste, he hit it away. "What is your nationality" Jellian asked calmly as he could, standing quickly to greet the man.

Then the women came in, "Is this an attack?" he asked stupidly. he stood, his sword, maybe a foot ahead of him. The light of the fire shimmered of the cold steel blade. "I would rather be taken prisoner," he said, "If it is one."

Morwyn Storm - April 3, 2008 12:29 AM (GMT)
Morwyn had been traveling throughout the night across the plains. She was skilled as a ranger and her infravision allowed her to see perfectly in the dark, almost as good as any feline predator could. But she was no predator, just a lone Ranger who enjoyed the wilderness.

Her eyes detected the light from the campfire and she quickly moved to the top of a nearby hill for a better view. After studying the inhabitants of the tower for a few moments, she started to approach them slowly. She silently drew her short bow from her back along with an arrow, keeping the arrow against the string but pointed at the ground, just in case she was in any danger. As she drew near enough, Morwyn yelled through the darkness. "Who are you and what is your purpose here???"

Talkina - April 3, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
Stumbling up-right, she threw herself in the door. Talkina was very confused. The man, who she hoped would share his fire with, was ranting on about some attack. He stood up with his sword at his side. Talkina was scared out of her wits by then. With a very scary man standing beside her, she knew she had to say something. "M-me? I just want some place to stay," she stammered. "I-i don't mean to attack. I can't even lift the stupid mace the inn-keeper gave me. I just need something to warm myself up." A voice rang out behind her. "Who are you and what is your purpose here???" Talkina jumped, hitting her head against a loosen stone. "Talkina," she yelled out, then covering her mouth. Whoops...

Jellian - April 4, 2008 12:06 PM (GMT)
Jellian suddenly felt that making camp may not have been a good idea. He sighed of relief, not letting his guard down, for even a second. The man did not respond, before a voice came through the woods "Who are you and what is your purpose here???"

"I'd ask you the same" Malin shouted into the darkness. "Reveal yourself." Malin sheathed his sword, and leaned back against the wall. ready for whatever might happen, feeling a bit cool that all three of these people where completely unrelated.

Morwyn Storm - April 4, 2008 10:44 PM (GMT)
Morwyn didn't answer, but she released an arrow through the air that hit the wall right next to Jellian as a warning. She quickly drew another arrow and drew back her bowstring once more, prepared to fire again if necessary. "I asked first! This is not a safe place to be at night for there have been Orc raids recently! You don't sound Orcish... my name is Morwyn Storm of the Elves!"

She took a few tentative steps forward, still keeping her short bow ready. She could see nearly perfectly in the dark, but she would take no chances with these people, they could have been bandits, or worse...

Jellian - April 5, 2008 12:49 PM (GMT)
"I don't think it matters to much who asked first" Jellian said calmly into the darkness, as if the aroow hadn't just flown past his head. "The way I see it, Morwyn Storm, Of The Elves, I was minding my own particular buisness calm as could be until you came by shooting your arrows around here."

Jellian snatched the arrow from the floor, the wall being brick, the arrow simply bounced off it. "Fine arrow..." Jellian said to himself, as he spun it around in his hand. After a few moments of playing with the arrow, he cast it in the fire, "Fine firewood too."

Talkina - April 5, 2008 03:00 PM (GMT)
Talkina quietly looked between the fast pace conversation growing between the elf and the man. The elf, which she heard was called Morwyn Storm, had shot an arrow at the man, who tugged with it before throughing it into the fire. There had been something about an orc raid, which frightened the girl. Orcs weren't very pleasant, as she found out in her hours as a waitress. Her hair was still wet and she was currently freezing, so she raised her voice to the reason she was here in the first place.

"Excuse me, sir. Would you mind if I sit by your fire for a while?" She shuffled from foot to foot.

Morwyn Storm - April 6, 2008 10:48 PM (GMT)
Morwyn listened to the people around the fire and she lowered her bow. She returned her second arrow to the quiver upon her back and then she slipped the bow around her shoulder with the string across her arm. She stepped towards the tower and through the door, her pale gray eyes looking at the people as she bowed to them.

"My apologies, I had to make sure you weren't bandits. I am a Ranger, protector of everything in these lands." she looked over to the cold girl and then she turned her eyes to the man who had destroyed her arrow.

"As you have used my arrow for firewood, I think it only right that you let us share the warmth of the fire..."

Jellian - April 6, 2008 10:59 PM (GMT)
"Yes then," Jellian said, "All around the fire, if you all will." Jellian was still warm from his nights sleep in front of the heat. The metal tip of the arrow caught his eye, it shined orange, but did not lose it's shape.

"Many have considered me a Ranger," Jellian said, "However, I choose to use a sword, to a bow, and I do not know much about the wilderness, save to survive in it properly."

Jellian had the sudden Idea, he removed his cloak and pulled it tight until it was as long as it would be without tearing. He wedged it between a stone on the wall, and then another, as far away as possible. the towers circular arc allowed for a space between the cloak and the wall. "Allow me your outermost layers, They can dry on my cloak, and they won't keep you cold."

(OOC: Treat Karasu as if he is not here.)

Talkina - April 7, 2008 01:11 AM (GMT)
Talkina sighed with relief as the woman spoke. "A Ranger," she whispered to herself so no one could hear. "No guards and no angry innkeepers." When the man spoke, she couldn't believe her ears. A warm fire and no angry innkeepers. Heaving the mace across her shoulder, she tethered inside, her tattered cloak sticking wet to her legs. Gratefully, she sat down cross-legged, her cloak hiding her legs and bunched up around her at the floor. "Many have considered me a Ranger." Talkina looked up as the man spoke. "However, I choose to use a sword, to a bow, and I do not know much about the wilderness, save to survive in it properly." Talkina listened with curiosity. She did what he offered and put her cloak upon his cloak, which came to reveal a clean black shirt tucked into a long, flowing black skirt. An overly large white apron concluded her waitress outfit. Stepping back to her spot, she sat down and dove into her thoughts.

Never did she serve a Ranger at the Inn in Lomedor before, so she always thought they kept to themselves, never resting and never thinking of anything else but living and protecting the forest. Adding from what Cook said, they never ate anything fancy and they didn't drink. Talkina never knew a person that did not taste alcohol, or else, refused to drink it. A sudden thought came to her mind.
"Did you ever think 'bout becoming a knight of some sort? And you, ma'am." She turned to address the female ranger. "Did you ever think 'bout becoming something else than a Ranger?"

Morwyn Storm - April 7, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
Morwyn made her way to the other two and she slipped her quiver of arrows and bow from her shoulder, setting them down next to the fire before she removed her gray cloak to reveal her firm fitting black pants and green tunic. Everything she wore was simple and natural. The quiver was made from buck hide, as well as her shoes. The box and arrows had been carved from the lightest wood available, obviously by hand.

Pulling her long, black hair behind her head, a small horizontal scar became visible across her left cheek just below the eye. She had acquired it in a fight with an Orc several years prior, and she chose to keep the scar bared proudly. She listened to the question from the other girl and then she smiled softly as she knelt down to warm up. She spoke in Quenya, a very rare Elven tongue, until she realized that she needed to speak Basic. "No... no, I have never thought about being anything other than what I am. My people have such a strong connection to nature that we cannot simply ignore it and fight without it..."

Jellian - April 7, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
Listening to her story, Jellian recollected on his own past, what he had been through to get to where he was now. After listening diligently to Morwyns small speech he decided to weave his own tale. "I was a soldier." Simple words.

Jellian sat by the fire, and realized, "I am sorry, as your host for the time, I haven't even told you my name, I am Jellian, John Jellian, but call me Jellian." He layed down comfortably by the fire and stared into the embers. He wasn't about to fall asleep, but it would be best if he didn't look too alert, too scared.

Talkina - April 11, 2008 01:34 AM (GMT)
Raising an eyebrow at Morwyn, the half-angel pulled herself closer to the fire. She reconized it was some type of elven and, when she did speak in Common, pondered what she said. Leaving the thought there, she turned her attention to the man. "I was a soldier." She looked at him in awe. "A soldier. You must have been a pretty good soldier to be considered a Ranger," she whispered with excitment, as if it was a secret.

The man gave a proper introduction. Jellain. It sounds very familiar to me... A voice inside answered with a no. You have never met this man before. After peering at Jellian for a minute, she relized that she need to introduce herself. "I'm Talkina...Just Talkina." She tried to stiffle a yawn and did not succeed. "I'm verrrry sleepy," she yawned again, emphisizing the word 'very'. "Well good night." With that, she fell asleep.

(I'm going to put Talkina out for a minute. Just tell me when it's going to be morning.)

Morwyn Storm - April 14, 2008 11:08 PM (GMT)
Morwyn smiled as the other girl fell asleep and she turned her pale eyes towards Jellian as he introduced himself. She reached over and extended her dainty hand politely. "My name is Morwyn... Morwyn Storm."

She smiled softly and waited to shake his hand. She kept her pointy ears towards the entrance of the tower to listen for anything dangerous.
