((Please take note that this topic starts on the outskirts of Estolad, and not in the Pub. Also the identity of Xiuhcoatl is hidden, you cannot tell that he is an Illithid))
A metamind, a psion with scrying abilities that used his mind as his deadliest weapon was a valuable thing to have on one’s side. Xiuhcoatl was one of them, a dark entity with a hidden agenda who recently joined a camp of rebels with reasons unknown to others. Zekhen, the rebel leader and Xiuhcoatl, the lanky man both decided that it would be wiser to keep the identity of the second secret to the others, due to his nature that might have stirred a lot of problems and chaos. He usually made his way days into the large tenet of the leader where no one else was allowed, scrying the persons Zekhen wanted while in secret he followed his own unorthodox plans. If it wouldn’t have been for him, the rebels would have never discovered in such a short amount of time and so precisely the source of the information leaking – a spy managed to infiltrate, a traitor that wanted to deliver information exactly to the wrong person, the very opposite side. The traitor needed to be stopped before the whole operation would be jeopardized, as a consequence everything came to a halt until the nuisance will be dealt with. The plan was to make the removal of the man smoothly and swiftly, without a big mess and especially without any evidence that would have linked the removal to the rebels. Zekhen didn’t want to take part of it in any fashion, so he appointed Xiuhcoatl to deal with this, who in turn hired a couple of people, skilled rogues in their own, specialized in dealing with this kind of jobs.
No details were given to the hirelings beforehand, only the rendezvous point, where they were supposed to meet up with the strange man without a face, as he was often called due to the long and dark hood that he wore to cover his face and rest of his body. Only his eyes came visible from beneath the clothing but only when they reflected the light of the sun – a pair of pale and vivid yellow orbs.
He arrived the first, minutes earlier than the appointed hour, and waited for the two females rogue to arrive. They were the two best choices out of those that managed to read the enhanced pieces of parchment, which directed those worthy to that point, just outside of Estolad, close enough to remain within the borders of the settlement, but as far as no villager would be able to see the three assemble.
Once in Lómëdor they won’t have too much time before the mission will fail, from there on, they would rely on the scrying abilities of the strange humanoid to pinpoint the exact location of the informer, and on those of the two females to remove him flawlessly.
“If they would hurry a little.” Came a dry and hissing voice from beneath the cloak, even for someone who relied on training his mind for so long, he was still impatient when it came to this kind of jobs. He pondered though, if to attempt to feast on the brain of the traitor once the two assassins will get a hold of him…
Linea made her way towards the meeting place, right on the outskirts of the Village of Estolad. She had seen the rather mysterious parchment during her travels around Arda. The young mercenary knew next to nothing about the details of this job, other than the fact that they were supposed to meet their employer outside Estolad, however she had taken the job anyway. The prospect of getting paid enticed her, as she was beginning to run low on money from her 'other' occupation. It seemed as if she couldn't find anything worth stealing nowadays.
It was hard to believe that the young girl who worked as a mercenary and a thief on the side was the daughter of a paladin, and, according to the information she had received on her journeys, now the sister of one as well. Then again, she wasn't really surprised. It wasn't like her self-righteous older sister Lynette would choose any other occupation then to do what 'she' thought was right and to prove once again that she was better than Linea. It wasn't like she cared about things like that anymore anyway. She couldn't care less what Lynette did with her life, as long as it didn't involve her. Lynette Miran could go jump in a lake for all Linea cared.
She put the thoughts out of her mind, making her way down the assigned path. She would have to focus only on her job. Hopefully she would be able to get a decent battle out of it too. She hadn't had much chance to try her sword out on anything for a while. Although if she didn't get to fight, she would be all right with it, so long as she got paid.
Linea arrived at the meeting point, looking around. There didn't seem to be anyone there, except for a man wearing a cloak that hid his face. She guessed that he must be the one behind the mysterious parchment she read. After all, he seemed to like secrecy if he was hiding his face from them. She frowned, walking towards him. She never did like all this secrecy.
"So then, what's this job all about?" she asked, impatient to start it. Already she was thinking of how she would spend the money once she was finished with it.
