Title: Watching in the Darkness
Description: Private
Amaterasu - March 29, 2008 12:36 AM (GMT)
Amaterasu lay with her body limply draped upon the sturdy branch of a might tree. Her silver eyes were half close as if at any moment she would fall into a deep sleep but in reality she was scanning the dense fog that covered the forest for any sign of life. She wasn’t hunting, but it wasn’t like her to let her guard down at anytime, even downtime. Her employer hadn’t called on her in weeks, and even though she didn’t outright enjoy killing it gave her something to do and she’d much rather be killing then sitting around doing nothing at all. Keeping one eye on the ground she turned the left up to the sky, watching the barley visible, fat, rain filled clouds slowly float by. She watched them for over twenty minutes before her right eye caught the movement of human or at least something pretending to be a human.
Without hesitation she rolled off of the branch, maneuvering in midair so that she landed lightly on her bare feet. Her ears twitched in the direction of both the rustling of dry leaves and the loud, frantic crying of a maiden in distress. Even with the head start the women had been given she easily caught up. She ran wildly, sometimes in full circles, cutting herself against low branches, stumbling and even outright tripping. After a while even the usually level headed Amaterasu grew annoyed, and with a sudden burst of speed she swiped at the foot of the womenwith her black claw-like nails, sending her tripping right onto her face. Almost instantly after the women had been tripped to the ground it turned, still on its knees, and lunged at Amaterasu’s feet. She stepped back quickly so that the women again landed on its face.
“Please. Don’t kill me.” The woman sobbed, her voice echoing threw the empty forest.
“Don’t be so arrogant,” Amaterasu said, her voice little more then a whisper so that the woman was forced to stop crying and lean up to hear. “as if I’d kill you.”
The woman stared up at Amaterasu, her mouth open and her face blanketed with confusion. The women obviously hadn’t realized that she’d been playing with her the entire time. If she’d had really wanted to kill her she would have done it without wasting so much time, but the women’s words hadn’t surprised her. Humans had always thought there lives were so important. All of a sudden Amaterasu's body tensed as she sensed she was being watched, but as usual she kept her face blank so that whoever was watching her wouldnt know that she'd realized they were watching. If her heart was still beating it would have leapt with excitement. She hadnt felt like prey in a long time.
Lady Darkness - March 30, 2008 03:27 AM (GMT)
Silver orbs cast to the sky, glowing orange through the illumenation from the flames which engulfed the place that was once called home. It had all happened in a matter of seconds; everything he did in the next three minutes would make a difference between life and death. Sweat beaded down the ghost white planes of his face as a silhousette danced in the charred shambles of his now ruined home; silver eyes furrowed, veins popping from flesh. That silhousette was the cause of all this! Why would anyone-- or anything, for that matter-- desire to ruin his life? How could anyone be so heartless and cold?
Through the fire and flickering flames came a voice, a woman's voice by the sound of it, singing a rather haunting song. Ethereal orbs rose from the scorched earth to frolic 'round the dancing figure as she sung. Her voice was like an ominous omen, a poison taking its course through mortal veins; the tune was beautiful, but the beauty of it was fell and dreadful to hear.
"Come little ones,
come here to me,"
The ethereal orbs continued to prance around her, the silhousette taking form in the light of the fire. A slender, dark gloved arm preluded from the inferno, reaching for one of the illumenating balls. He heard a splash- as if the woman had stepped in water as she danced torwards him.
"Come here to me
as you fall into decay"
An orb vanished, followed by another, and then another. Where did they go? He blinked, bewildered, afraid, and impossibly alone. All of his calls had been in vein- both his wife and only child had to have been shallowed by the infamous fire by now. Even the pet he'd given to his son as a gift...
Claws, covered by the ebony fabric of a gloved, tore out from the fire, bathed in scarlet liquid. Another splash; carbon eyes stared back at him, the dargonic-like slit furrowing upon his pathetic, quivering figure as the two tails (one in the upper right corner and the other in the lower left corner) spun. Black brows ceased as thin lips rose with which to speak:
"You cannot escape me,
even if you try
What a little baby!
Don't forget to cry..."
A blade flew to the base of his throat and sliced upwards, causing his scream to be forever stuck, unheard for all of eternity, in his hacked throat. Raven-black hair, equal in length, flew about the twilight-clad woman as she withdrew her dagger from his twitching corpse. Humens were such a waste of space on this planet, and this is why. Mortals were too foolish to register movement when they thought they had nothing to life for.
The demoness stood, cracking the bones of her neck while she lapped the blood from the stained dagger before she returned it to the lace of her boot. While the sickening sound of cracking bones echoed, a small, ethereal orb floated upwards from his chest. His silver orbs twitched and he finally understood. The glowing balls of light were souls, which meant that she had devoured his family. A solitary tear streaked from his eye as the woman reached for his soul; when her gloved palm clasped around it, he fell limp across the earth.
"It is here we vow to...
devour the sun."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A veil of mist that never lifted enveloped the forest that she had wondered into, still feeling the need to play. Burning the house of the human male and eatting him and his family had hardly been fun and it left her craving more. Mortals were so easy to manipulate and kill, she wanted something interesting, something that proved to be a challenge. The veil of the vision restricted mist was a challenge, but it was more so annoying than exciting.
Her footsteps were as silent as a shadow; the demoness remained alert. This was unfamiliar territory, who knew what could hide within its boundaries. Suddenly, the stirring of leaves caught her attention as vibrations thundered through her feet. Someone was here admist this mist and they were moving. A silhousette sprinted ahead; Lady Darkness lowered her head with a smirk, registering movement in her powerful legs. She followed the shadowy figure like a cat, silent and unknown.
Loud, irritating sobs echoed through the impenetrable mist barring her vision from what was going on in front of her. “Please. Don’t kill me.” Lady Darkness slowly made her way behind an oak tree a few inches away from the sobbing woman and the silhousette she had followed. It was difficult to tell if the individual, whoever they were, were male or female. Long hair obscured most of the figure's body, down to the ankles. It wasn't until they spoke that the demoness identified them as yet another female. “Don’t be so arrogant,” The woman said, her voice little more then a whisper so that the sobbing fae was forced to stop crying and lean up to hear. “As if I’d kill you.”
A dark aura pillared from the woman's figure, her scent wafting into the demoness's nostrils. Thin lips pursed, revealing the tips of ivory fangs tucked away within the prison that was her mouth. Whoever it was that she had followed was a vampire by the smell of it, and, judging by her aura, she was also a sinful. Good...
Tention rippled through the vampiress's frame. She could feel Lady Darkness's eyes upon her, but from the syrene look on her face, she was pretending she didn't know. The Mistress of Torment was no fool, much to the vampiress's misfortune.
Teleport. Her body vanished from her place behind the oak, reforming directly behind the vampiric woman. Malice flared in her carbon-hued eyes as she drew a single short sword from its sheath (located at her waist). Lady Darkness breezed the hilt past the vampiress's coal-black hair, omnious but calm. She had no intention of killing this fae; Lady Darkness wanted to test her. If she past, the demoness had a proposition for her.
Amaterasu - March 30, 2008 06:17 PM (GMT)
She listened to the women mumble, whispering words of prayer and still begging to not be killed, but it was unnecessary since Amaterasu had long since forgotten all together about the harmless and lowly human women. Her mind was never focused on things of little importance for to long and a human women was as unimportant as it got. Her mind was focused on finding the being or creature who was watching her as stealthy as she watched others. She wasn’t afraid, nor annoyed, in fact she was ecstatic that perhaps today would be the day that she found someone that she could look at as an equal or at least a decent opponent, unlike most of the run of the mill humans, angles, barbarians, and other creatures that she’d been running into for the last three centuries she’d been among the living.
She turned to seek out the being, almost knocking right into the being that she knew instantly was her watcher, her equal, and maybe an opponent that would be like committing suicide if she faced her. As uncaring and stoic as she was she wasn’t ignorant. She was well aware of who she could take on and who she couldn’t unlike most who ran head on into battle uncaring of there opponents skills and abilities. The women, who clearly was not human, held a short sword in her hand, pointed at Amaterasu, but it was of little interest to her. If she were to strike with it she’d have to behead her to kill her and Amaterasu was at least quick enough to evade a head on attack like that.
The inhuman women came to only her shoulders so Amaterasu guessed she was either five feet seven or eight, an average height, but Amaterasu did not let the average sway her thoughts about the person. She was still a threat, perhaps. The women was as thin as her but Amaterasu had enough sense to know that a women’s strength had little to nothing to do with the build of her body. In fact women had used there slender appearance to trick opponents into thinking them weak and feeble since the beginning of time. She was seemingly young but Amaterasu wouldn’t fall for that either. The women had a both experienced and wise look about her.
“Please…please. I beg you. I don’t want to die.” The human women shrieked, drawing Amaterasu’s attention back to her.
She felt as if the human women was interrupting something important. Something that would change her life and it unfortunately for the human women annoyed Amaterasu to the point that she was beyond the act of mercy. Before the women had even time to scream she’d turned and slashed at the thin flesh of her throat with one of her claw-like nails. The women tired to say something, perhaps praying one last time or begging for her life as if Amaterasu somehow had the power to mend a slit throat, but the blood that filled her mouth stopped her, only quickening her death. Amaterasu found it ironic that the women’s own life blood stopped her from begging for her life. When the women lay still, her chest thrusting upward repeatedly, struggling for air, Amaterasu was satisfied. She got no joy or excitement out of killing the women, it had simply needed to be done.
She turned back to the women. It was evident that the women wanted something out of her. Amaterasu read her as the kind of women like herself who if she wanted someone dead they’d already be dead. She didn’t seem the one to have a long conversation with someone before killing someone, regardless of if she killed quick or slow and tortuous she would be quick to began. Amaterasu arched a beautifully arched eyebrow at the women, asking her what she wanted with her with her expression.
Lady Darkness - April 2, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)
The vampiress seemed just as equally as eager as Lady Darkness was herself and that only added to her excitment. Vampires... ohh, those devious little devils! The undead had always been facinating to the demoness; they were all so tall, their features were absolutely flawless, and they had an insationable thirst for blood and violence. However, most vampires were harmed by holy relics such as crosses whereas most demons hated them so much that whenever they were touched by one, the relic melted like wax. Vampires were cursed to an eternity of walking in shadows. Demones like Lady Darkness could walk out in broad daylight with no problem if they wanted to, but the demoness personally dispised the sun, and thus chose to roam under the cover of the stars, which she also hoped to one day devour.
However, this vampiress was a clever one. By the way she stood, the way her body suddenly took position, the Mistress of Torment could clearly see that this undead woman wasn't going to fall for a strike directly to her head. That was good, but the vampiress was obviously forgetting Lady Darkness was only using one arm to pose the short sword. While she was distracted by the hilt pointed to her back and her mortal pet, the demoness could've easily clawed at her theigh or knocked her over using a single sweep of a boot. She was leaving herself open without even realising it.
Another drawback of this creature was how easily she was sidetracked by the shreiking mortal. And though the vampiress eliminated the annoyance that was human filth, Lady Darkness found it laughable that she had failed to watch her back while doing so. It could have proved fatal for her, but this demoness wasn't one to attack another of her stature, so to speak, when they had their backs turned. But unfortunately for our dear Amateratsu, the demoness had chosen to take that time to move.
As the mortal annoyance drowned in a sea of her own filthy life's blood, Lady Darkness side stepped past the vampiress's vision and cruched, waiting for the oppertune moment with which to strike. The time had come to test this vampiric woman and there were only two possible outcomes: acceptable and unacceptable.
When Amateratsu churned around to face her once more, the demoness was gone, but she knew Lady Darkness was still there, for the expression of 'what do you want with me' installed upon her pale face. An eerie cackle rang all around the vampiress, as if the demon's voice was everywhere at once. Lady Darkness withdrew the short sword she's drawen eariler and returned it to its rightful position. Her blade had taken its fill tonight- it was time to use the weapons that came naturally-- her six inch claws.
Like a shadow, the demoness waited a few more moments, throwing her voice to the nonexistant wind 'round the ridicuously impenetrable mist. "Come little ones, come here to me." she sing-songed, "Come here to me as you fall into... DECAY!!" The word was a snarl between her ivory fangs as she lept from the mist unannounced, aiming to wrack her claws across the vampiress's unguarded stomach...
O.o.C.: Sorry for the delay! ^_^;
Amaterasu - April 13, 2008 10:00 PM (GMT)
As soon as Amaterasu turned around, greeted by no one, she knew she’d made an awful, possibly life threatening mistake. She’d turned her back, exposing herself. An elementary mistake she hadn’t made in a century or two. She had no time to curse her silly mistake. The inhuman women was gone, disappeared into the mist, but Amaterasu was sure that the women was still nearby. There evil aura’s clashed with one another, as if in some chaotic, yet beautiful dance to see who was the strongest of the two. Her silver eyes darted to and fro, panicked, but her face was as blank as an unused slab of marble. Her effort was in vain though. The women wished to not be seen and even though Amaterasu’s infravision helped her cut threw the impenetrable mist she still could not find the women.
Without warning Amaterasu heard the women’s voice. "Come little ones, come here to me." she sing-songed, "Come here to me as you fall into... DECAY!!"
It was no ordinary voice, it seemed to fill the air and her sense’s, even the ones she no longer needed. It was as if the women was everywhere and nowhere. Amaterasu was intrigued, frightened, curious, and annoyed. It amazed her that any one being could make her feel so many ugly emotions at one time. Almost catching her off guard the women suddenly appeared, throwing the mist off of her, and lunging at her with her claws aimed at the thin flesh of Amaterasu’s stomach. The women grazed her, drawing blood, but Amaterasu had reacted just fast enough to flash step out of the way so that she did not receive the full blow like intended. A smile flickered on her face, stretching her taut facial muscles. She felt her blood running down her stomach but she didn’t let her eyes off the women. She wouldn’t make the same mistake twice. All and all she didn’t understand the attack, where they fighting to kill or not, even if the women has succeeded in her attack a mere attack to the stomach wouldn’t even have slowed Amaterasu down. It would have been like a bug bite, annoying and bothersome, but nothing to fret over for too long.
Amaterasu longed to know what they fought over, but for once she let herself be drowned in her excitement. The fact that she could be killed made her feel for once truly alive. More alive then she’d ever felt in her mortal life. She had an overwhelming urge to shed her opponents blood. It was only fair she thought as she placed her left hand on the cut flesh. She wouldn’t look down to examine the wound. She knew that the sight of her blood would more then likely send her into a dead faint or even worse a hysterical anxiety attack, leaving her no control over herself both physically and verbally. She cursed the phobia that followed her even into her undead life. A weakness that was both emberessing and uncanny especially for a vampire who shed blood just to survive. With a sudden burst of speed she lunged at the women, determined to smell and see the blood of her inhuman oppenent, aiming for the vulnerable and soft flesh of her breast, the only area besides the shoulders that was exposed on the women.
Lady Darkness - April 14, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
Though she had come from seemingly no where, the vampiress reacted swift enough to not take on the full intended blow of the truly unholy being she now fought, a being that could mean the end or beginning of her life. But Lady Darkness had hoped the woman would react, for it proved she could act swiftly in a time that could make the difference between life and death. Her claws had scored the surface of her tender flesh, barely, but just enough to draw blood. The scent of it nearly drove her off the edge until she remembered that she wasn't out to kill her, she just wanted to play with her. Even so, her demonic nature revealed when her life's blood was shead; her lips pursed as her mouth tugged the edges of her lips in a sadistic grin, revealing the ivory fangs imprisoned within her mouth as her tongue sweeped over her chops in an animalistic fashion.
Once she had bounced slightly backwards she dug the heels of her boots into the ground to steady herself, balancing her figure. The slits in her murky orbs expanded into daimonds while the vampiress planned her next move, her hand idly tracing the fresh wound imflicted upon her by the demoness. She purposefully left herself open, guessing that Amateratsu would lunge for the first opening she saw. If she managed to dodge the attack and thrust her palm forward to catch the attacking arm, she could use the momentum of her oppoent to her advantage and break the limb. However, she wasn't certain if she wanted to cause that much damage, for it would be a better reason to urge the vampire onward and deny Lady Darkness's proposal.
By the time her thought was half-done, it was too late. The vampiress's claws aimed for her breast, a spot the demoness had left open, and she was comming fast. Lady Darkness had to move and think quickly. Calculating the time and every possible movement, she concluded that she couldn't fully dodge the attack without a scratch, but she could use the extra time of the recoil to strike at her leg and, hopefully, knock her off balance. As Amateratsu's claws reigned downwards, the demoness ducked just as the tips of the woman's claws slashed through the skin of her shoulder, which didn't bother her any. Pain didn't effect her, after all. It was a birth defect that was one of her greatest advantages, but also, her greatest weakness.
Lady Darkness pressed both palms flat on the earthy ground, using her upper body strength to balance herself as she swept her legs under herself, aimed to knock the vampiress off balance. If that worked, it would be over, for the demoness would hop to her feet, unsheath a short sword, and point it at Amateratsu's head. Then she would withdraw her weapon, return it to its rightful place on her person, and help the woman up. The demoness would tell her it was a decent match, but she would need practice, and then state her reasons: Lady Darkness wanted the vampiress to join her and The Sinners.
However, if it didn't work, the demoness would continue to fight, dodging when she could and attacking when she saw fit. She would keep the levels of defence and offence equal, allowing little damage to seep through, but would inflict as much damage as she could without using an inch of her true strength that belonged to her true demonic form.
