Arda > Anfauglir Desert > Flaming Oasis

Title: Flaming Oasis
Description: (P) Mia, Roncho the Troll, Karasu

Aduro Silex - March 27, 2008 03:02 AM (GMT)
All the Anfauglir Desert was was sand, and heat. Eternal bliss and a centerpoint for the sun's heavy rays. They danced about and created mirages and hsimmers all around the brown eternity of burning hatred. It homed to foul sand creatures and rare oases that people believed mirages. The eternal suffering that this place caused was paling into the devestation and fear that Aduro Silex burned into the minds of entire planets. His looming presence would hang in the air, only hours before the inevitable destruction of the worthless rock. But now he was weak compared to his former infamy. The Anfauglir heat proved fitting for him, and he embraced the scene before him in joy. The scolding sand fealt good beneath his new humanoid feet. His eternal hatred forr this planet seemed to cool as he was taken away by, what he considered to be, such a beautiful thing. There had not been anything alive for miles of the journey through these dead lands. Such a wonderful thing pleased the elemental. His own surface had been very similar as he had shot through planets and stars. but it was something else to be touching it. It was eternal wonder filled with something worth while.

All was well with this section of the world called Arda. that is, until he found a patch of green while looking at the ground. He let out a low laugh as he set it aflame, "Enflamment" He had taken his Claws and stabbed them into the patch of green. Now set aflame they began to set fire to the patch of green. Aduro enjoyed the fire as it burned the green away, but this signaled an oasis nearby. He could use it to sustain this humanoid body, and then burn it all away. If it wasn't for this damnable form he wouldn't even the accursed green fields for nourishment. Maybe if he was lucky there would be some people on there, no use burning the place down if it's deserted. He traveled for a bit longer, burning every lone patch of green the dotted his path until he reached the main place. He made his way past the trees to the center where their was a pond. Perfect to refresh the body, maybe some fruit nearby, than... the oasis goes to flames. Oh yeah, it would be fun to see how long the fires lasted throughout the night.

Mia - March 28, 2008 06:15 PM (GMT)
Mia had been on a journey to find a temple that had been lost to the sand for many years and had been discovered by an archaelogist just recently. She knew that the temple would contain many scrolls thats knowledge was thought to have been completely obliterated from time because of the temples dissapearence.

Mia paced the sand carefully, making sure not to fall into a sinkhole of which she was told can be anywhere in the desert. She had been walking for a few days now and her water supply was running scarce, only a few sips left remaining in the wooden bottle.

As she walked she began to think that if she did not find an oasis soon she would possibly perish in this desert trap. Mia walked a few more paces and as a rise became lower and lower as she walked up, trees came into sight... and a pool of water was in the center.

Mia quickly ran over to the water, dipped her hand in and brought it to her lips with great haste. The water trickled from her hands to her lip and then to her dry dusty throat. She sighed as the water flowed smoothly to her bowels, the water tasted so good and was so refreshing.

She filled her water bottle then walked over to a palm tree that provided plenty shade and sat down against it and closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Karasu - March 28, 2008 09:53 PM (GMT)
Karasu was running through the desert, and was quite displeased! "Why the hell was I sent to kill some random guy in the desert?! I'm a frickin' half-vampire! I know I'm not hurt by the sun, but I still don't like it, and now I'm in a place where there's nothing but sun! Sun, heat, sand, dirt, cactus, trees, water... Wait... Trees and water mean oasis, and oasis means shade, and shade means people, and people means that guy might be there!" he said to himself as he ran towards the oasis, leaving undisturbed sand behind him.

As he reached the green patch, he saw the girl, Mia. "Damn!" he thought. "Can't let her see me... wait, I could kill her... no. To much effort. Can't assassinate very well in a desert, nowhere to hide... except at night! That's it! I'll wait till nightfall, then slit her throat... Unless the guy's here, then I'll just leave a little surprise for her in the morning..." he thought, envisioning her waking up with a headless corpse laying across her.

Karasu smiled as he saw her lay down to sleep, he could kill her now, but what's the fun in that? There's no bounty, and his target might see her and run... Or he might see her and try to help... But the risk was too big. The target would come in due time to the oasis...

Aduro Silex - March 29, 2008 03:42 AM (GMT)
Aduro reached the oasis, his claws had returned to their normal state, the water beckoned to this body. He looked around and saw nothing but a girl sitting beneath a palm tree. Heh, so there would be at least one victim to his killing. but, for now she could rest easy and live. The fire elemental crouched down near the water and put both his hands together to pool it. It was still so strange to him to be drinking water, he had been covered with ice in the past, but that was generally resolved by the plentiful atmosphere of doomed planets. He brought the water closer to his mouth before drinking. He couldn't let a single drop spill, this water was a rare thing in this place, and his body was forced to consume it. He stood up and looked around for fruit, all he saw ere the coconuts above the girl, he looked behind himself to find another one placed exactly opposite of the other one. Strange, no natural geological or herbalistic arrangement had every been like this. damnit, this place was created by a magical entity! He would have to cho[ the place down manually with his claws!

He groaned as he took a coconut and crashed at the base of the tree. The coconut easily opened with the claws, Luckily this one was aged into being a food source. Aduro scooped some of the coconut out with his right hand which held the claws and ate on it. It was sweet, only a bit bitter. Maybe it would taste better cooked. but to make a worthy fire in this place, he would have to find some dead wood. He swallowed the piece and let out an annoyed sigh. damnit, all he was going to do for the rest of the day was watch this place burn! But if it was made by a magical force than it would never burn!

Mia - March 30, 2008 10:47 PM (GMT)
Mia yawned rousedly, her eyes closed tight. She sat in darkness, only the sound of the wind was nearby. It was still day because she could feel the suns warmth as the shade had moved to the other side of the tree. It must have been a few hours since she had fallen asleep.

Mia opened her eyes and noticed that a man was holding a coconut, scooping the sweet flesh from inside. She cautiously stood up, brushing the sand from her robe. She walked over to the man and sat down next to him. Beutiful, isn't it. I wish there were more places such as this, but alas this area has been consumed by time's everlasting destruction. She smiled and nodded for the man to speak.

Aduro Silex - March 31, 2008 01:11 AM (GMT)
Aduro was looking curiousley at the sky, there was only one cloud which sat in the form of a circle. It didn't move much, only in little circles over the oasis, it didn't provide much shade at this hour, but than again there were the trees for the shade. The young woman came and sat beside Aduro, she had woken up from her slumber. "Beutiful, isn't it. I wish there were more places such as this, but alas this area has been consumed by time's everlasting destruction." Aduro swallowed down a piece of coconut before responding, "Kid, a moment ago I was thinking of burning this place down, and relishing in the thought of a victim. Not only that, but now I'm pissed because this place won't burn, so you might not want to sit beside me." Aduro gave this warning and then scooped out another piece of coconut. This place was probably using a magical dampener so Aduro probably couldn't do much. But he didn't exactly want the company of the girl, and it wouldn't be any fun to just take his claws and slit her throat without any fight. that being thought, he wouldn't even be able to get any fun out of this place with no fire and no challenge in combat. damn, he hated this world with his very burning being! "But, if you don't heed my warning I guess there's not really much I can do, so I guess it's to your own free will of what you do." Aduro said before spitting an aged seed into the water. he laid his head back on the tree and focused on the young girl beside him. She probably wouldn't listen to him. Oh well, like he really cared?

Mia - March 31, 2008 03:30 AM (GMT)
Life or death I will always exist, death is just a way to release the soul from it's prison of a body. Mia said solemnly, the thought of death did not cause fear for her. If the man thought of attacking her she would not hesitate and quickly catch him by surprise with a net spell. This place is so magical, I can feel that time has had only natural effects here. If you so wish to destroy this place then be my guest but heed my warning, destroying such a natural place can only cause anger to it's creator. Whom which I would not want to tangle with.

Aduro Silex - March 31, 2008 09:03 AM (GMT)
He listened to the girl's words and let out a sigh. "Either way I would originally destroy this place, I do not care if I anger some powerful creator, my passion for death and flames unend along with my hatred of your putrid world. As far as I can tell, there's not even anywhere else to go on this pitiful planet. All I ever see when I travel to this continent's edge is nothing more than seemingly endless amounts of water, unhindered by the effect humanoids generally impose on the natural world. i am surprised that there is still such purity in this world, endless amounts of hatred consume each undying city, and millions of fights break out in the course of one week, yet the natural world goes on with only a minimal amount of damage. From a perspective of something from the endless vaccuum of space above us this place doesn't even seem like it has inhabitants, it just seems like it is a rock devoid of and biological entity, as a result it's lasted this long because I never saw it during my travels literally through the stars." Aduro let out a sigh and he began to hit his head against the tree repeatedly, this world was entirley surreal, and as a result it baffeled the elemental, he couldn't understand the minimal impact of the humanoids. But this still wasn't the cause of his eternal hatred for this rock.

Aduro kicked a rock into the waters and laid his head away from the young girl. Damnit, he wasn't ever going to escape this planet was he Never see it go down in flames, or watch the earth seperate. No, he was going to be stuck on this eternal planet and never see it's end. He hoped that something would happen and just end his life. But not just any random act of violence, something fitting. Like a comet falling on top of him, or being struck by lighting! Oh well, he would never get his wish. He would never be able to return to that endless field of destruction called the infini-verse.
