Mia - March 25, 2008 05:29 PM (GMT)
Mia was standing in the far back of the Parmamar Library searching the shelves for a piece of literature for her to read. She was searching for a book that was about Alchemy; which was what Mia was studying at the time being. Her lips pursed together as she spotted a rather large book that said the words "Advanced Alchemy" on the spine of its cover. She grabbed the book and tried to pull it out but it happened to be very heavy and she had to gather her strength in order to get the book to budge.

Once she had the book in her hands she slowly took the book towards a desk nearby, struggling to keep hold of the books massive stature. She dropped the book with a thud that followed as it fell against the rough surface which she was standing near. The book appeared to be very old and needed very careful and tender care; she wouldn't want to tear a page or crack the spine.

The book was a pale bron and appeared to have been torn many years ago. A jewel protruded from the front of the book; shining in the light which shown through the stained glass window nearby. Mia stared at the jewel, examining ever inch of it in awe; she wished this jewel was hers and smelt into a necklace. But she understood that it belonged exactly where it was meant to be; its purpose to be more beautiful than Mia herself.

Mia went back to examining the book itself, her eyes hypnotized on one spot that surprised Mia. On the front of the book; on the top left corner was a small piece of paper protruding out of the corner-tip. Mia took the piece of paper and carefully slipped it out from the cover and stared at the writing on the front; it was in a lanquage she had never seen before.

The writing was distinctly in a language she had never seen before and was too small for Mia to see though. Mia ran over to a desk and quickly snatched a magnigying glass sitting on the edge of the desk. When she got back to the book she brought the paper up to the magnifying glass and surprisingly could understand what the language read.

Mia looked around to make sure that nobody was watching her for she was about to hide the sheet of paper in her robe pocket. She sighed as she pulled her hand from the robe and noticed that everybody was still doing their own things. Mia ran over towards the area she had left her stuff and snatched up and began walking towards the door.

Mia stopped when she got to the door, there was a tall but slender male standing before her. A tense feeling swept over Mia as she looked into the mans eyes, he appeared to be looking at her maliciously. Mia side stepped and tried to walk past the man but he only side stepped into her way.

The man only stared into her eyes and nodded as if he had seen enough. Mia watched as the man walked off and stopped in front of the bookshelf she had been at when she found the book with the piece of paper she had taken. The man was reaching for the same book she had and he only seemed interested in the cover of the book; particularly the corner near the spine.

Mia watched as the man threw the book on the ground in frustration; attracting all the attention around him. The man only stared at the ground, shivering as if he was scared. Mia wondered if the piece of paper had something to do with him.

Mia quickly ran outside and walked over to the fountain, she leaned over and dabbed at the shiny liquid which spewed from the top of the fountain then dribbled down to the lower pool of liquid. The sun felt good and made Mia feel warm and fuzzy but she couldn't help to look back towards the library and notice that the man was staring at her again.

She frowned as she turned away; wondering why this man happened to be so interested in her. She hoped that he did not want to mutilate her. She looked around and noticed that a few others stood around the fountain, enjoying the quite babble that it created. She sat up and walked off towards a merchant who was selling small charms and trinkets.

The man smiled and asked her if she was interested in some of his wears; but she only smiled in return and said that she could not. The man appeared disappointed but not angry; that would be the least attractive thing a merchant could do, especially to a young little girl.

Mia at last turned towards the direction of her house, walking down the streets that now appeared to be inhabited by the shadows of twilight. She felt at unease, a feeling that someone was watching her sprang through her muscles and she stopped dead where she was. Mia looked from the corner of her eyes to see if the shadows contained anyone or anything...

Nafalen Sintelnor - March 26, 2008 03:14 AM (GMT)
“Book. The brown, large, gem in the cover. Third row, seventh section. Page 726. Read, destroy, complete.”

That was all that the letter said. All his instructions gave him. And it was more then enough for such a skilled man. Lighting the letter in the only candle burning in the room, the black-clad, ebony skinned figure extinguished the flame and dropped the smoldering embers to the floor. All that remained; all the proof of its existence gone.

With hardly a rustle Nafalen had left the room, shutting the door and locking it with a ‘click.’ His dark cloak billowed out behind him as his swift elf strides quickly carried him down the hall, stairs and out the door of the tavern, leaving a wave of startled patrons behind him. Most people calmly walk out of the tavern, but Nafalen was on a mission and had no time to deal with bothersome clerks or owners.

The Drow slipped through the streets, barely noticeable as he kept to the shadows. He couldn’t be noticed taking the letter from the book. His mission was a secret, to all but two people, Nafalen and the Client. It wasn’t often that Nafalen took jobs from clients, only when he needed the money or wanted a thrill. Yet when he did he planned them down to the letter. Everything had to be perfect in these types of situations, and Nafalen had it planned down to the letter.

In, right, two rows down, left, three sections down, swipe book, take letter, disappear.

Simple, fast, untraceable. But there was one problem. The letter had already been taken. There was a girl looking at the book. Taking the letter, his letter. This could be bad, extremely bad. If she was able to decode the cipher in the letter she would know everything. But not to worry. A simple knife thrust would take care of this new player.

Nafalen watched the girl pocket the letter and walk towards the door. Stepping into the doorway, Nafalen blocked her path, staring from under his hood into her eyes. When she tried to step around him he shifted to block her path. He noticed every feature and everything about her that was physically possible, locking it all into his steel-trap of a mind.

Nodding, the Weapons Master continued on around her into the library. He picked up the book and turned to the page, just to make sure. Slamming the book down, he walked through the library to the side. With a twitch, Nafalen activated a spell, becoming nearly mist. He walked through the wall and into the dark alleyway on the other side. Using the protruding window ledges, Nafalen quickly scaled to the roof of the library. Catching site of the girl, Nafalen watched her move towards the nearby fountain.

From his perch on the library rooftop, Nafalen quickly planned his route of attack. The girl had no hope of seeing the next morning if Nafalen had his way. And he normally did.

Elexis Sinclaire - March 27, 2008 02:30 AM (GMT)
Elexis had calmly watched from the corner as the human girl took the book, and found the note. She was about to pick up the note and simply walk out, but with her luck things were never that easy. The girl at first looked more interested in the book rather than the note. Everyone's emotions floated in the air around Elexis, she could feel them tingle against her skin, the girl was feeling curiosity, not the greed that would be expected from a mercenary such as herself. Elexis was a bit confused by this, either she wasn't one of the others that would have been sent, by the looked of it the human had found the note almost completely be accident. She had watched as she checked the note and tried to hide it. She was stopped by an unusually well equipped drow, but he let her through. This drow on the other hand was interested in the note as well, and he showed it quite obviously. His emotions were full of anger at the sight of the girl leaving and fustration when he came to the book and checked it quite thoroughly. He slammed the book on the ground in fustration, then look around and regret it. Elexis merely shook her head at she began to move speaking silently to herself,"Could he try and attract any more attention to himself?" Her question was answered as the drow attracted even more attention to himself as he cast a spell and turned into a cloud of mist and disappeared into the wall. She grimaced as he used the spell, "Great, a magic user." Elexis had a bad experience with a mage, remembering the large scar on her shoulder from an icebolt. Elexis never liked to deal with mages, they always seemed to pull some trick or another out of their sleeve. Elexis relied on her skills as an thief and assasin to earn her paychecks.

She walked out casually, no need to attract needless attention. Her abilities were harder to use in the large crowd that was in the small square in front of the library. Everyone's emotions were sometimes overwhelming and made it hard for her to concentrate, or if she were in her mortal form and in a large crowd, she could even begin to feel ill and it would directly affect her performance. But there was less than two dozen people not including the human girl. She looked as she stared at the note for a bit before starting to move into a dark alleyway. A spike of anger hammered into her and she looked up towards the source of it. The drow was on the roof above the girl. Elexis merely chuckled to herself before starting off towards her new objective. She always worked best when making things up as she went. Elexis made sure to blend in with the crowd, it was daytime and there would be no cover except the crowds, so she used them. She walked for awhile before coming to a ladder that would lead to the roof of the building near the alleyway that the girl was in. She got to the roof and walked over to one of the plants on it. Pretending to be one of the caretakers as not to attract the drow's attention. He was well armed and a direct fight with him would not be easy. "Just wait to make you're move Elexis, you might not even have to hurt the girl." She said as a plan already was coming to her.

Mia - March 28, 2008 09:18 PM (GMT)
Mia stood in the middle of the alley way, scanning the shadows from the corners of her eyes. She felt at unease, it was to quiet; even now the streets of lomedor had a few people sitting around outside. This unease she felt, had restraints though; Mia did not let anyone see that she was scared of what was to come.

Mia slipped the note from her pocket and let it fall to the ground as if it had slipped out of her pocket from a breeze that had just passed. The note landed softly like a feather, very carefully and softly. She knew that this note must be the reason for the unease.

She reached down to pick up the note and she slipped it into the pocket on the inside of her robe, she did not want to risk the chance of a pickpocket stealing the note from her so easily. She turned about face and looked around, searching every portion in sight. From what she could see she noticed a woman tending to a garden on the top of a roof, but could not see anyone else.

She sighed and started walking back along the streets towards her house, pacing herself ever so carefully.

Mia had finally reached the safety of her humble aboad, a place of so many memories to herself, a place where she was born, a place where her parents had passed away and a place where she would have children of her own.

Mia ran over to the wall where a painting hung crookedly, she took the painting down and a safe appeared. She opened the safe and quickly stuck a note into it, she then closed it and locked it back up with her key. She then took the painting she removed and replaced it to its rightful place.

Mia walked to the kitchen and opened a cover and pulled out what appeared to be a loaf of bread and began slicing it into a few pieces.
