Title: For the road ahead
Description: Those interested in the force of Balance

Allen - March 13, 2008 06:14 PM (GMT)
It had taken quite a few days through periods of extended travel and rest, but it would hopefully prove worth it in the long run for this, the commoner from Estolad's first endeavor to make something of himself in the world outside his village, to be more than just some random man occasionally wandering the realm.

Granted, this recent large, long trip of his had also taken a fair amount of paper, and thus he'd come close to putting himself in poverty, not that it would matter much were he to simply stay in his village for some time longer.

Travelling a wide area around his village, stopping in various towns and cities along the way, he'd posted sheets in random spots that would hopefully be commonly seen, spreading word about a new force hopefully to rise in this world of Ea, dedicated to the principles of Balance, Order, things he never took much heed of before but, now that he'd found them, decided to pursue, as he'd never had much of a liking for good or evil, law or chaos. He'd even gone so far as to seek out Threnody, Goddess of Order, a visit which had set him on this new mission of his.

Which now brought him to the Alulanta Falls, a place he enjoyed and had been once before. Snow lightly covered the ground, its fall ceased a few hours previously, and the falls could be heard less than half a mile away, the rushing water still visibly flowing from beneath a sheet of mostly transparent ice. It was a place fairly accessible to the rest of the world, a place that was peaceful, tranquil. A perfect place for such a guild, at least in his rather unexpert opinion.

The man in question stood staring out to the distance beyond the falls, atop the green expanse of forest patterned with white. He was wearing simple clothing; a tan, long-sleeved shirt, similar-colored pants, and cloth boots, as well as a light green shawl draped widely around his neck and shoulders. His hair was an unusual shade of blue, falling down slightly beyond his shoulders, his eyes a dull green hue. Taking in a breath, realizing it was about time to greet whoever would show up, if anyone would answer the call of one such as him, he turned, casting his gaze behind him, to the expanse of snow-covered stone, to see if anyone would arrive.

Snow. The white substance had an irritating feeling. Just to think that some people actually liked it. Only the thought of snow could make Thae shiver. Though it was here, in the middle of the snow, where he had to be. A guild was being raised. A guild of balance. A team fighting to make people even. Thae just had to join this guild. It fought for whatever he had fought for.

"Waiting for someone?" Thae said while approaching the stranger from the back. "Are you here for the guild?" Thae kept walking forward until he was only a few feet away from the other. "My name's Thae, Lunar mage. Who are you?" he said.

Bartimaeous stepped from the thick woods near to the base of the waterfall, walking slowly toward the two men already gathered there. He observed them both, taking in every detail before committing it to memory. This was surely the most important event he would chronicle yet.

I will never miss the sweet sharp sense of this fugitive day, fetched back from its thickening shroud of gray. Hence the only prime and real love-rhyme that I know by heart, and that leaves no smart, is the purl of this huge valley fall, many spans wide and many more tall, over a table of solid rock, and into a scoop of the self-same block; the purl of a runlet that never ceases, in stir of kingdoms, in wars, in peaces; with a hollow boiling voice it speaks and has spoken since hills were turfless peaks. I carve now my history

“Good morrow dear sirs.” he spoke as he approached.

(wow, what an age difference O.o; )

Two people. Well, better than nothing, that much was certain, but even still he'd need more before this could become anything more than a small unit, a light gathering of people for a cause they may not have the manpower to see through effectively. Unfortunate, but it was more than he expected, so he'd work with it, at least for now, in the hopes that others would come.

"I am indeed waiting for others to arrive," Allen replied to the first man that had arrived, though from the appearances of these two, it was hard to say who they were, of what occupation they made their own. Granted, not that he'd be able to tell, regardless, it was likely...hopefully at least one of them was skilled in some sort of combat, which he wasn't by any means, his only true skills being archery and hunting.

"As for myself, my name is Allen Cross, the man that posted the notice and hopes to bring back to the world the Knights of Dawn, at your service," he continued, bowing politely.

"I do rather hope others arrive, better sooner than later, but I suppose I must be happy that anyone responded to the call of a commoner such as myself. Granted, it will likely be a difficult path that I'm hoping to enlist people on, to keep at least a semblance of Balance in this world, but it's one I plan to see through, with however many may come to my aid, which thus far appears to be you two."

The name instantly leapt into Bartimaeous’s head; ‘The Knights of Dawn’. Now there was a name. Not too over the top, not too fancy, just understated. He thought it good. The man continued to speak.

Bart’ considered the mans words for a moment before speaking.

“My dear fellow, if it were going to be easy would not be here. History is not written because someone did something that was easy. Every event ever recorded, every battle ever fought for an ideal or goal, ever man who died for their belief, did not take the easy route. And should you succeed in your goal, should this organisation be founded, more will come. Have faith in the minds of men.”
