Title: Cat-fight
Skertin - March 13, 2008 03:25 AM (GMT)
OOC: since this is more of a fun topic, I won't make 'uuuge posts or hem and haw over things :grr:
IC: The instantaneous flicker of lightning gave the world day-light illumination but for a moment. Giving one a clear view, but snatching it away before you could focus on it. The soft pitter pattering of the rain was hypnotic, the beat on the roof putting her in a lull every so often until she snapped herself awake. Pressing her face against the cold window helped, it left slight fog traces from the differences in temperatures caused by the rain outside.
The day had been over for a few hours now, Nate's "meeting" had come to an end and Skertin had been feeling fidgety, so she opted to stand watch outside until falling asleep. Granted she was a bit to prideful to come in after only being out here for an hour or so. She'd have to at least wait three or four until she was certain she could get in without waking him.
The ambient noises of the late-night festivities drifted up from downstairs, carrying the delicious scents from the kitchen and warmth. It was almost as bad as fighting sleep. Just to go down there and grab a bite to eat or a drink or two. Granted it'd involve a bit of haggling to get them to take her seriously given what she looked like, but it'd be worth it.
Leaning forward and putting all four feet of the chair on the floor she took off her cap and shook her long white hair free of the coat. How did girls do it? It was itchy and annoying in her jacket, but whenever she grew it, it'd just grow right back to the same length!
Rubbing her eyes slightly with a yawn, she trailed off with a half-babbled curse at the little undead girl, wherever she was.
OOC: Okay, the post is crap. But I'm really tired! T_T"
Jade Valdis - March 16, 2008 04:07 AM (GMT)
The night went rushed over quickly as Jade hiked her away through the rain to the meeting that she was supposed to attend with a her partner Nathaniel. She had been on a mission earlier that day and was just returning into Lomedor that evening where she used a bar near the docks to unwind. She had her normal watered down White Wine with a hint of lemon and lime for her drink. She drank, but kept it light so that she could keep her nice gorgeous body, slim figure, and beautiful image. She was a gorgeous specimen, but that was also her weakness.
“Mara! Take the night off little friend. Go play somewhere.” Jade had told Mara as she reached the doors of the Pub in which the meeting was supposed to take place. It was a simple meeting of battle strategy for the upcoming tourney battle with him. She was his stand in partner since the fool Nobunaga Oda had gotten himself into some trouble and had completely vanished from the lands.
Jade had left most of her weapons in her room in a inn down by the docks. She left the weapons in the normal hiding place in that inn. That was assumed to be her home. She left them with the thought that she wouldn’t need them. It was a meeting to discuss things, not to fight or spar in anyway. Although, she did keep her enlarging dagger and one shadow dagger with her just in case some idiot in the pub decided to start something. She also kept her jewelry like her fang earrings and her spiked bracelet. She also had her skirt on which was her re sown phase cape. She had on her leather armor always, and kept her equality boots since it was wet and rainy outside. Her throwing knives were strapped to her skirt in the normal place, but other than those few items, she had only her known spells and her brilliant tactical mind.
The rain beat down hard and the thunder that followed behind it was something fierce. Lightning lit up the dark sky and the thunder rattled the ground. This was a bad storm, but the rain cloak that Jade had on covered her from the small rain problem and kept her body dry.
She walked through the doors of the pub and without acknowledging anyone, she went straight for Nathaniel’s room. Hopefully he was there and didn’t forget. Jade walked briskly as the water ran off her cloak and splattered on the floor leaving a small wet trail behind her.
As she came to the room she noticed there was somebody there. Another girl, the one rumored to be Nathaniel’s lover of the sorts. “Well if this is her then I don’t know what he sees. She is hideous.” Jade thought to herself as she made her way to the girl and Nathans room.
“Is he in there. I need to see him.” Jade said as she removed her cloak and showed off her body. She had on her normal outfit that showed off her normal cut stomach and a little leg skin. A normal outfit that showed skin but not too much but still kept her protected thanks to her hard leather armor. “Please get him for me.” Jade said as she looked at the girl with a disgusted look. Jade felt superior because she looked better, but that was her weakness. She assumed the worse of everyone if they looked bad. Why was this any exception?

The soft sound of feet coming up the steps alerted her. quiet they were, most likely inaudible to human ears. Her ears weren't quite human anymore, and as much as one trained in stealth could try, wood always gave a subtle and distinct groan that cut through the haze of weariness and ambient sounds. sitting up with excessive haste, she suppressed a grimace at the ambient feelings coming from whoever was approaching. The arrogance was so thick, she could probably cut it with a knife, there was contempt in there as well than just pride.
As the woman entered the hallway, Skertin's vertical pupils narrowed from the sudden influx of light as a bolt of lightning fell somewhere outside. As it faded, her eyes widened to soak up the surrounding light and give her vision that of near daylight. As much as she hated what'd she become, this curse would very well be a gift in Nathaniel's war.
And when at war, vigilance is required in all things.
Skertin stood up at attention, but not like it was Nathaniel. She was on edge and had one foot forward with the other back to secure her center of gravity. It had been drilled into her very subconscious that she was never aware of the little maneuver. Neither did most people, it always looked like she simply took one step backwards under her longcoat. Bristling as Jade showed off her well-developed figure, she could only feel a slight amount of envy at her. To be eye-catching to the point to catch Nathaniel's notice, where as what did she have? an inhuman body that was the age of a pre-teen.
"I am not your dog. If you so chose to address me, it will be as Lieutenant and nothing less or more."
She had to look up just to stare at Jade's face, but the violet eyes never wavered. Possessing a cold and battle hardened commitment that had seen her through more battles than either her or Jade had years of life. The nearby candle's light reflected off of her white-greyish hair that reached well past her torso and made the spikes on her choker gleam. The tone was icy, but with the softest wisps of a heated anger. she was letting the woman bother her, losing her tight grip on her empathic nature. She had to tread lightly.

Jade was apolled at the reaction of the girl and was angered by her comment. This little girl had completely crossed the line with Jade. Nathaniel had told Jade about her but only brief things. He never mentioned that she was just another low life that was worth nothing at all. Surprising that they had a relation at all.
"Do you know me? Im guessing by your ignorant tone that you dont. I address nobody by anything other than first name. But for you i will make an exception. Is Queen skank a good name for you, or mullet?"
Jade had completely crossed the line but she didn't care. Jade felt insulted that some bratty, ignorat runt actually spoke to Jade as if she was as low as her. This girl was good for nothing but simply holding a mop or maybe using her as a human shield to dodge oncoming arrow showers. Anyway this poor wretched fool would die would bring pleasure to Jade as she stood with one hand on her hip still flaunting her beauty around.
"Now go get Nathaniel little doggy. Ill give you a special treat if you do." Jade said taunting the girl even more. Skill or no skill, Jade would be proud to set her head on a pike and draw in the lupines in the wild to lick the blood from the pike as it trickled down from her decapitated head.
Jade's eyes wandered over the girls figure measuring her physical ability to fully keep up in a fight, but looks can be deceiving. This girl had brass balls tempting the short tempered Jade Valdis. What ever the case was Jade placed a hand on her Enlarging dagger and clutche the hilt tightly. This was about to turn into a fight, and this little girl would be dead in a matter of seconds. Sorry Nathaniel. Good riddance anyway.
Skertin - April 9, 2008 05:53 PM (GMT)
Skertin's lips curled back in a twisted grin, showing off glistening gums and bleached white teeth that had shifted into sharp points. The small bursts of laughter was something like a giggle or a repressed laughed. It was all comical and infuriating at the same time. Being insulted with feminine terms, realizing Nathaniel had resorted to the company of people such as this. It was all she could to not crush the floor or wall and start hurling debris at Jade in a frenzy.
Her resolute stance was there, but shaking from the anger-fueled laughter. A slight hand to her face was the polite way of covering it up, but really she was just getting ready. If Skertin could, she'd let Jade wait a few moments more for the empathic talents to be used in a controlled fashion. Then she'd throw her through the wall or window and smash her into a bloody paste with something heavy. Perhaps a horse.
"I...I" her words were becoming more coherent, the giggling dying off with a clearing of her throat. "...I am afraid that your rest might be interrupted Nathaniel..." Her voice was low, it was meant for only Skertin to hear since Nathaniel was fast asleep, or not here at all.
Now Skertin kept watching Jade's eyes. It was always the first indicator of an attack. A forewarning against her, a challenge to the woman from Skertin. She shifted slightly sideways, her right hand running across the roughly carved wooden chair. As she grasped it, the reflections seemed to darken at her very touch. With a deliberately slow motion, her fingers curled around the top of the furniture.
"I promise you mongrel, you have another moment to recieve absolution before I mar your weak female flesh permanently."
