Title: A friendly chat between friendly friends

It was a a relaxing day in the Wilwarin pub. A warm fire cackled merrily in the fireplace, and oil lamps were lit halfway to give the pub a more cozy feel. The room was mostly of a yellow tint, with shadows dancing on the wall from all manner of movement. It was a chilly day, colder than it should be considering that spring was almost upon Lomedor, but several citizens found comfort in the warm arms of the pub. Ayaker Buceg was one of these patrons.
He may be immune to the cold chill of winter, but there was still something cozy and comfortable in the cradle of the Wilwarin. It wasn't very crowded, since it was around 11 am. Most of the heavy drinkers and brawlers came around the later pm hours, so Aya was able to sit and enjoy a glass of juice, and a pheasant sandwich in peace.
He had a book in front of him, one he had recently found among the trash of a book dealer. It had been discarded simply for the reason that the hardback cover was stained with mud. Aya thought it rather silly of a dealer to get rid of something nice just because it was dirty. Ah well, more use for him. He sat looking through the book, it seemed to be a children's book, a grand story of a night who went to save a princess, he couldn't read all of the title, but what he could see was "N__ ___ther Pr__ce_s and _nigh_ story." The book had been scrubbed in an attempt to restore it but the deepest stains stuck to the unknown letters.
Ayaker wasn't really doing anything today, as was the case most days. Usually he went exploring, but for the last week or so he had stayed in Lomedor, perhaps out of laziness to leave. The only problem was that he had to pay for every night that he stayed in the Wilwarin, but the food cost extra. This meant that if he wasn't here, he could merely pay the boarding fee, but with the cost of food, he found himself stealing a bit more then he was used to. He decided he would go out on an adventure at some point in the next few days. Maybe he could find a friend to hang out with.
Friends, it was interesting, but Ayaker hadn't encountered any of his friends in a few weeks or more. He had not seen Tracyn, nor Lalandria, Jaina, nor Stella. Sure he had made a new friend here or there, like the halfdragon boy detective and the halfdemon, but he missed the friends that were the first to grace him with their presence.
It was rather ironic that Ayaker was pondering these very thoughts, mouth full and eyes in a book, because rather quickly the door to the pub opened with the chime of a bell. Ayaker was too absentminded to notice that there stood a good friend of his, right in the doorway.

Stella felt like she had been here for too long. Lomedor was a big place, and being in big places alone made being here more unpleasant. It wasn't like Stella didn't have any friends, she just hadn't seen them for a while now, and the absence had lade her lonely. She wanted somebody to talk too! This very moment, she was sat on a wall, admiring the people walking past. It was surprising, but Stella had never really took notice of others, and now - watching them walk by her, she was surprised at the type of people lived on this planet.
Spotting a scaly man Stella was certain was some sort of Lizard Man, she watched him until he eventually turned a corner and walked out of site. Lizard Men. It was somthing you would think one would notice, but yet Stella never really had. She'd like to meet a Lizard man... meet members of ALL the races in fact. Would have been a fun experience. A old beggar woman passed her next, and she was certain she saw a tail poking out of her long dress. Cat Women? Yes... this planet was weird, but then, not many people had seen a Fallen Star, so she couldn't really judge.
Ever since she had been on Earth, everyone had been accepting of her, and she had met some nice friends. Zennith, Ayaker, Moosheh, Robyn, Nois, Nath and even more, and Stella missed them. These past few days she had spent wandering around, looking for somthing - anything she could do, but had found nothing that had sparked her liking. Now in this large city, she found herself... useless. Everyone walking about seemed to have a purpose, somthing they where on their way to do, and here she was, a lonely Star Elemental, sitting on a wall, brooding over her broodiness. It was low - pathetic.
Jumping down off the wall, Stella began the slow walk to the Inn. Heck, she may be stuck here, but it didn't mean she couldn't enjoy herself, and there was always somebody to talk too in the Inn, and somebody willing to buy her a drink stronger then water... Stella couldn't help grinning at the thought. The streets where crowed as the masses began their slow decent home. The buildings where large, mostly three stories high, and occupied by either Nobles or average folk. The Inn was the one place where Stella felt at home - drunken people having no desire to question her about her glow, or demand to know where she is from, or even her life story.
The Inn loomed ahead, and Stella pushed the door open, still lost in thought, and feeling rather down. Her glow wasn't as bright, and her face was withdrawn, saddened. Shutting it carefully behind her, she cringed as the bell rang, announcing her presence. Everyone looked up, some with expectant face's, hoping it was their friend's arriving at last, and looking away dissapointed, seeing that it wasn't. Stella stood, and sighed. Here she was.
OOC: Omg. I am so sorry it's crappy ^_^; I'll try better next time!!

Ayaker finished chewing his food, and took another drink, oblivious for the moment to the arrival to the inn. At this very moment the brave knight had just slain the dragon, and was getting his reward from the king. Rather quickly something caught his subconsious attention. The light in the room had increased, albeit very slightly. Never the less, Ayaker had very keen eyes for light (infravision), and he looked up, by reflex, to see the adjusting sun through the door. What caught his eye made him much happier then a mere sunray. It was his friend Stella the fallen Star! She looked rather down, as if she had been having a bad day. It was rather strange to see Stella in such a state of melancholy. Ayaker recalled that even in dire situations, Stella usually broke out in a smile a few dozen times before it was over.
The important thing though was she was here, and now Ayaker had someone to talk to! He bounded out of his seat, dropping his book, and rattling the table, and ran up to Stella. "Stella!" he said as he half tackled, half hugged her. "What's up Stella?" he asked, stepping back to take a look at her. There was something strange about her, she seemed...older..somehow. It was amazing how living in a harsh world could age someone. She still gave off that shine though, the same shine that a Star might give off in the night sky. Ayaker remembered how Jaina had been able to see Star's light, although she was blind. Star's light had even been able to permanently cure Jaina, which he thought was amazing.
Ayaker had so many thoughts going through his head that he wasn't quite sure what to say. He stood there thinking, looking at Stella for a few moments. Finally he just said, "It's been quite a while since I've seen you!" Slowly he broke out in to a wide grin. This dull, boring day had become much more interesting. Ayaker hadn't seen even one of his friends in quite a while. On top of that, usually when he saw Stella, there was some sort of emergency, or fighting. Yet here she was in a calm(compared to her usual adventures) pub. Having someone to talk to always cheered Ayaker up, even if she wasn't quite aware of what he really was.
"It's great to see you! where the heck have ya been? What have you been up to? Is everything going all right?" He had a lot of questions but he supposed that was normal after not seeing someone for a few months. It was a sad fact that that seemed to happen in Arda, it was quite a big world. He hadn't seen Lalandria or Tracyn in an even longer time. The world was dangerous too, so you never knew if your friends were even doing ok. Well... there was one less thing to worry about for the half dragon.
(Your post eez not crappy or horrible!!!!! You are better than me :poke: But that doesn't mean you shouldnt always strive to improve.)
Star Dust - March 25, 2008 08:48 PM (GMT)
"Stella!" Stella looked up quickly and noticed the familiar face. Ayah! Stella gave off a soft "Ooof" As he half hugged half tackled her, and laughed. It had been so long since she had seem him, and him being here now, well, Stella felt overjoyed. She hugged him back, laughing in slight wonder. "What's up Stella?" He asked as he examined her closer. It was true - Stella wasn't usually feeling down, as most of the time she walked around with a big silly grin plastered on her face. Today, however, well, it hadn't been so good, but right now she was happy.
"I'm fine Ayah!" She gushed happily. "I mean i wasn't, but i am now" She ensured him, smiling still. It really was good to see him. The last time she had seen Aya was when her necklace had been acting up. It seemed when ever she really DID go to see him was on occasions when there was trouble. "It's been quite a while since I've seen you!" He confirmed ehr thoughts, and she nodded only too agreeable. Stella knew that she should have kept in touch, though at the time she seemed so busy. "I know Aya! I'm sorry i have been in contact, been busy you know?" It was no excuse really.
"It's great to see you! where the heck have ya been? What have you been up to? Is everything going all right?" Stella laughed at his questions. It seemed he had missed her almost as much as she had missed him. Leading the way to a corner table, she settled herself down. Motioning for the bartender to bring her some water, she turned her him, taking in a deep breathe, readying herself to answer some questions.
"Where have a i been? Well... i tried on a necklace which made me a fairy, so a fairy trained me basically" She laughed at how weird the story sounded. With a little sigh, she accepted the bar tenders drink gratefully, taking down large gulps of the sugary water. "So.. Aya.. How have you been? What you been up to since we last met?" She asked, placing the cup down carefully, and interlocking her fingers around it.

Aya listened with a small smie on his face. Stella was doing all right after all, well that was good. You never knew what could happen to someone out in Arda. Stella said that she had not contacted Ayaker on the account of being busy. Busy? Sure it was quite a hectic world, but Ayaker had a tendency to assume that when someone wasn't in contact that they were in trouble. Still, it didn't really matter, Stella was here and fine. Stella motioned to a table, and Ayaker followed behind her, seating himself across from her. His stuff was still at another table, but he didn't mind leaving it there at this slow of an hour.
"Where have a i been? Well... i tried on a necklace which made me a fairy, so a fairy trained me basically" Stella said, then uttering a laugh. Ayaker raised his brow, a fairy necklace? Being a fairy sounded dangerous, as someoned could very easily step on you, or hit you with a fly swatter. It might sound fun to some people though, due to the fact that you could fly. Ayaker had to admit that if he wasn't able to form wings at will that he too might be enthralled at the idea of flight. People always want what they don't have, thankfully the land of Arda was a magical toystore. One just had to look for it and you could find a way to do anything you could imagine.
"So.. Aya.. How have you been? What you been up to since we last met?" Stella said. Ayaker had been spacing out, and it took him a second to break and respond. "Oh, sorry..." he said. "Well, let's see. I spent a lot of time just wandering the country side. With spring coming on, there's not much better than just fl...walking through the different environments." Ayaker paused and scratchhed the side of his head, gathering his thoughts.
"I met a few people. In this same pub I met a half dragon boy who was like 10, and he was one of the smartest kids I've seen." Ayaker recalled the kid who withing 5 minutes of meeting Ayaker had figured out his secret. He was sharp, Stella had known Ayaker for a while and she still didn't know his secret. "What else...I went to Estolad, looking for clues about my dad, and met a half demon, unfortunately I didnt get much information. Then there was the time I got lost in The Land Of the Dead, and fought a vampire and a werewolf, I barely escaped alive..." Ayaker felt an echo of the goosebumps he had felt that night in the paladin's house.
"The best thing that's happened to me though..." Ayaker trailed off. He walked over to his other table, and picked up the backpack that was placed on the side of the table. He unzipped it, reached inside and pulled out something small. He cupped his hands around it, and walked over to Stella. "Look!" he said, uncupping his hands. There in his palms, was a tiny baby fluffy bunny. She was mostly white with brown accents on various spots. Most of the brown fur was around her head and particularly her ears. She was quite tiny, resting gently in the middle of Ayaker's hands. She looked up at Stella, eyes wide, and twitched her nose a bit.
"This is Chestnut, my rabbit! I got her from an egg at the spring festival in Lomedor recently. I never thought i'd be one for pets, but she is an awsome pet." Ayaker also thought the bunny was extremely cute, but it was kinda weird to admit that he thought a baby animal was adoreable.
Star Dust - March 31, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
Stella drinked from her cup eagerly. The water was cool and refreshing - definitely a well earned break. Stella did not *need* to eat or drink, but yet she found that sometimes, drinking was nice - specially when she had been walking for a long time. Draining the rest of her drink, she listened to Aya's post intently, happy to be with sombody she knew - her friend, and for a chance to chat. "I met a few people. In this same pub I met a half dragon boy who was like 10, and he was one of the smartest kids I've seen." Stella giggled.
It seemed that alot of people where smart in Arda. Sometimes Stella doubted if she HAD been born here normally, she would have been able to keep up. Everyone seemed to have a purpose, somthing they needed to do, and everyone always seemed to know their Paths. "What else...I went to Estolad, looking for clues about my dad, and met a half demon, unfortunately I didn't get much information. Then there was the time I got lost in The Land Of the Dead, and fought a vampire and a werewolf, I barely escaped alive..."
Gasping, she leaned forwards slightly. "Vampires?" She murmured. She had heard about them - yet she had never thought - not in her wildest dreams, that they where as bad as attacking sombody as nice as Aya! In fact, Stella had always wanted to meet a Vampire. "The best thing that's happened to me though..." She glance up from examining the lines on the wooden table, to see Aya walking away to a differnt table. Fumbling around inside his bag, her returned to her with his arms cupped carefully. Stella's eyes lit up in curiously at what he was holding.
"Look!" He uncupped his hand and Stella's breathe cought. Laying in Aya's arms, the tiny ball of fluff looked up at Stella, eyes as wide as her own. The little brown fluff ball was.. was... "CUTE!" Stella gushed, reaching out her finger delicately to stroke the tiny ball of fluff. She was soft, and Stella smiled. "This is Chestnut, my rabbit! I got her from an egg at the spring festival in Lomedor recently. I never thought i'd be one for pets, but she is an awesome pet." Stella glanced up. "The Spring Festival?" She asked... her voice trailing away. "That's funny!"
Reaching into her cloak, she took out her own tiny bundle of fur. Her rabbit was slightly larger in size, and completely ginger, the fur very thick. The little bunny jumped onto the table, hopping towards Aya. "This is my bunny i got at the Festival!" Stella laughed. "I also have a tiny fly Dragon, and a Dove, though they are currently taking a break of their own. Look here" She opened her cloak, so Aya could see inside it. Pulling open a large pocket, Stella showed him the inside. It was filled with straw and carrots. That was where Fluffy slept.
Watching Fl00feh move to sniff the baby rabbit, Stella smiled warmly, her glow bright. "Heh, she likes her!" She giggled, then sighed. "It's nice to see you again Aya! We should keep in touch more often." Stella wondered briefly where the rest of her friends where at - what they where doing currently. Maybe she should look for them...
