Pandora Skullshredder - March 4, 2008 04:32 PM (GMT)
The Kaima Inn was busy, crowded with patrons who were after drinks and entertainment. The talking never ceased always maintaining a study hum that filled the common room. Servers were constantly making rounds, refilling drinks and providing people with warm food, which was in many opinions the best in Estolad. There was a musician who played the harp sitting on a slightly raised platform, providing music for people to listen to. At the moment, it was roiling upbeat tune which explained the heroic battles of the War of the Moon, full of wanderlust and gory details. Every now and then a person would drop a few coins in the glass set in front of the musician. If the man kept playing as well as he was, then he could earn a lot of money before nightfall. Dice was being played at several of the tables, people grouped together based on how much they could bet. The more a person could bet, the closer they were to the bar where the servers came from to deliver drinks. Every few seconds, cries of joy or disappointment were added to the noise as the gamblers saw who won and who lost.

For Pandora Skullshredder, her luck was in. Seated at the table were all bets were made in silver coins, she had obtained a tidy stack of coins. She had barely learned to play, yet it seemed that beginner’s luck had blessed her well. Scooping up the dice in the leather cup used for shaking them, she let them spill out onto the table, four fives. With a smile, she handed the dice to the next person. The man grimaced slightly, fearing the shame that would result from losing to a woman and perhaps seeing another bet lost, but he spun the dice out of the cup, laughing when they landed on four fives also. With a toothy grin, Pandora took the cup back and tossed again, laughing out loud when it was three sixes and a five. The other man didn't seem to believe he could beat the toss, so he shoved the silver coin over towards her, a scowl marring his wrinkled features as he shoved his chair away worrying how his wife would feel when she discovered that he had lost the week’s earnings.

Pandora’s luck seemed to continue as her violet eyes continued to gleam with the glow of silver that accumulated before her. It was strange how a simple planned meeting between her and another bounty mission was supposed to arrange had become sidetracked into a full gambling spree. When she had first stepped into the bar she had been tempted to simply wait outdoors yet the idea of earning an extra coin to waste on food and drink seemed irresistible. A few tosses later, she was already roaring her head off, his hearty and surprisingly unfeminine laughs rocking the table as she slid another pile of silver towards her already massive pile.

It almost seemed as if she had forgotten completely about the bounty she had prepared to hunt.

Hrothgar - March 7, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
The man to his left passed the leather cup to him. Hrothgar took it, placing the four dices into it. His hand moved up and down, blurry as he shook the cup. Finally, he moved his right hand which was preventing the dices to fall out of it - the four dices rolled on the table, while Hrothgar looked eagerly to see if luck decided to join his cause. Unfortunately for him, Lady Luck was sitting on the opposite side of the table, besides a young, female warrior with long black hair. "Da devil." Hrothgar mumbled, as he tossed a silver coin to the middle of the table since he knew everybody's gonna beat his toss. Three ones and a two. Nope, luck wasn't on his side.

Hour ago, Hrothgar was sitting in Kaima Inn, since he had decided to just take a rest and refresh himself with a pint filled with ale. He just drank his third ale, the sweet liquid made him a bit sleepy and drowsy, when a man invited him to join their table. Five people was sitting around it, laughing and singing, while earning some money. Hrothgar wasn't really in a mood to play games, but having nothing better to do he joined them. The harp player was annoying to him, he couldn't stand his soft singing. Buta followed the dwarf as he approached the table, a man in front of them shoved his chair and left the inn. Hrothgar just took his place. And so the games begun.

The female warrior had a massive pile of coins in front of her and she laughed loudly at her luck. Hrothgar frowned, the laugh was unfeminine, similiar to barbarians or orcs. The inn was full, everybody laughed and sang, some of the crowd even danced to the tune of the harp-player. The waitresses were constantly running around the crowded tables, serving the customers. Hrothgar remember how he, weeks ago, came here to search for his friend, Orik. The dwarf shook his head, wanting to clear the thought that appeared in his head. Leathery cup was now at the person next to him, his dices rolled a four, two fives and a six. The person smiled and looked at the female besides him. It was that warrior, her violet eyes were looking into the pile of silver coins. The man besides her extended his arm and offered her the cup, waiting for her to take it and play.

Let's see if Lady Luck is still by her side.

[ I dun have some inspiration at the moment, sorry for shortness. ]

Pandora Skullshredder - March 8, 2008 08:32 AM (GMT)
With a smirk, Pandora took a handful of coin and waved towards one of the servers, using some of the money to buy a small meal, her stomach rumbling with the desire of food. Gambling was never good, especially when pangs of hunger would distract you. ”Ey yoo dere!” Pandora barked, a small amount of spittle landing on the figure of a stout figure directly across from her at the table. Across the room, a small girl of barely fifteen looked up quizzically, pointing to herself to clarify if she had been called. ”Ya you dere, da wee leetle one wi’ da ugleh smock!” Pandora acknowledged as a pained expression donned the waitress’ face. The dress that had been insulted had been a gift from her father. ”Git meh whateva grub dat dis much moneh can buy!” With a small gesture, the waitress extended her hand as a small fistful of silver scattered upon her hand.

When the meal arrived, Pandora dug into it as though she hadn't eaten in days. The food was wonderful, something the inn prided itself on. Ignoring the complete use of cutlery, Pandora scooped a golden clump of mashed potatoes with her fingers, to the disgust of the men around her, devouring the food quickly and with little grace. In a matter of minutes the plate was empty, as Pandora grabbed the plate and licked its surface clean.

With a little belch, Pandora wiped her mouth off with her sleeve as smiled cheekily to the table, a small pile of coins already forming as a new bet took place. ”Da devil” the stout man across from her muttered as a poor hand revealed itself upon the table. Instantly, another pair of hands scooped the dice into the leather cup. With a small gasp, the man released the cup, revealing perhaps unbeatable odds. A four, two fives and a six. Actually, impossible odds according to Lady Luck who had decided to shift positions after the rather rude meal Pandora had consumed.

With a small cry of joy, the man handed the leather cup to Pandora, who grudgingly accepted the dice. However, with a slight slip of the hand, Pandora caused a small waitress to slip, spill the neighbor’s mug of ale to spill all over his trousers. With a slight commotion the waitress came over, desperately attempting to clean it much to the chagrin of the man. In the small incident however, Pandora used the chance to slip her own set of dice into the game.

Stolen from another gambler she had found cheating, the dice would always land out a combination of fives and sixes, no matter the angle. Almost identical to the dice used previously, Pandora grinned maliciously as she began to shake the leather cup, flashing it across the table before slamming it down upon the wooden surface. Peeking underneath, Pandora’s efforts were well rewarded as first a single five appeared. At first, the previous roller simply smirked, imagining it to be pure luck. However, a six soon appeared causing the gambler to quickly lose the grin, turning into a weak smile. Then, another six appeared as the smile transformed into a frown. Finally, the last six appeared as the man went pale. ”Ha! Take dat, ya suckas!” Pandora shouted before a burly figure approached, bumping into Pandora. However as the figure bumped into her, another set of four dice popped out of her sleeve. The original dice to be more specific. Suddenly, the entire bar went silent.

”Ya bloody cheat!” the man beside her screamed his finger pointing towards her face.

"Ah, fuggit," Pandora muttered, her eyes scanning the room for exits. Taking the chance before the crowd moved to block the exits, Pandora quickly scooped her pile of silver into a small bag before darting for the entrance. "Ya neva gonna catch meh alive!" Sitting back at the bar, Lady Luck chuckled. It was always curious how easily the tables could flip on a person.

Hrothgar - March 9, 2008 04:56 AM (GMT)
Chaos! The young waitress fell, for some reason unknown to Hrothgar, spilling ale all over the man who was siting besides him. Waitress was constantly apologizing, trying to clean it with some old rag. Hrothgar wasn't looking at the small incident that has happened, but the warrior. While other eyes in the inn were looking at the waitress who desperately tried to scrape off every sign of spilled liquid from the man's trousers. With a sad expression, the waitress left, once again apologizing to the man. The dwarf's eyes were set on the young, black haired girl, who had a malice grin on her face. She was planning something, but wha- ah, I see.

Hrothgar didn't know much about gambling, but he did know that this all cannot be beginner's luck. Or was Lady Luck really in favor of this young maiden? The dwarf didn't think so. He stayed calm, the expression on his face gave no signs of anger nor happiness. Crossing his hands, the dwarf waited for the situation to unfold. The gruff maiden boasted about her winnings, calling all other gamblers 'losers.' Usually, Hrothgar couldn't take insults. But either ale made him drowsy or he just didn't want to meddle in. A small smirk appeared on his face, closing his eyes and just relying on his hearing.

Through the inn, many voices and sounds echoed, the sound of harp, laughs and cries, snores of a pig and some males on the other table, just made Hrothgar ponder. There are so many kind of people on this world, each of them unique, each of them choosing their own way of life. Some take the good side and some take the evil side. But how can he choose, see, what is evil and what is good in a situation? How can he take the life of an someone who is, in Hroth's opinion doing evil, while the person is doing only what it thinks it's good? Hrothgar sighed. Yes, world was filled with many kinds of people. All blessed with the gift of life, but with the curse of death too.

"Ya neva gonna catch meh alive!" Hrothgar heard the girl shout, with her gruff and harsh, orc-ish voice. He opened his eyes, and clapped with his hands. For a split second, around him a green fog appeared and then the dwarf disappeared from his chair, which made his seat to fall onto the ground - waking up the pig that was peacefully sleeping beside it.

Teleporting himself in front of the girl, Hrothgar raised his head to look into her eyes. They glowed with some kind of a violet hue, something that the dwarf has never seen before. His bright eyes looked into hers, his bushy brows coliding as he frowned. "Stealin', arr wii? C'mon nao, ye dun dezirre troubls, do ye?" The dwarf asked the girl, with his deep harsh voice. He was shorter than her, even though she was shorter too than average human males. Still, he stood there proudly, nothing could knock him back. He slowly put his left hand behind his back, ready to unsheathe his axe if necessary. But the warrior was young, he wasn't expecting her to attack him. Once again, bad Adunaic escaped his mouth "Letz return to da tabel 'nd continew our geem?"

Pandora Skullshredder - March 30, 2008 01:46 PM (GMT)
The air rushed past Pandora's path as she leaped above tables, toppled over innocent patrons, and knocked over multiple stools in her rabid race towards the exit. At first, many of the Kaima Inn's occupants had been too shocked to realize that the petite woman had just robbed them entirely of their silver, but reality quickly pushed forward as men began tearing after the bounty hunter's trail, their roars of anger like the battle cries of orcs heading to battle.

Silver jingled merrily in Pandora's sack, oblivious to the danger around the bar, as the Skullshredder's bangs fell before her violet-hued pupils. Looking forward, Pandora sighed in relief as she saw the fast approaching door, eager to escape the Inn. However, to her amazement, green mist suddenly zoomed past her body, only to materialize in the form of the dwarf she had cheated. His auburn, bushy brows arched curiously as he began to warn the bounty hunter in heavily accented Common. "Stealin', arr wii? C'mon nao, ye dun dezirre troubls, do ye?" the dwarf inquired, his calm voice contrasting with his cautious movements towards the shaft of his exquisitely crafted axe, "Letz return to da tabel 'nd continew our geem?"

Pandora's mind instantly began to race through, the cogs twisting and turning for a solution. Behind her, the mob had already caught up, and with a sudden glare, Pandora brandished her mithril sword, shining as if it were eager for bloodshed and further use. "Outta me way, stumpeh!" Pandora growled, her voice striking fear into the minds of everyone who heard her. Almost instinctually, the magic began to seep from her very pores, the fear spell twisting its evil tendrils around the occupants of the inn who for some strange reason began to become terrified of the petite female human.

Hrothgar - April 5, 2008 02:24 PM (GMT)
A strange buzz appeared in his ear, the noise was getting louder and louder, when suddenly; explosion of fear. The dwarf was terrified, looking at the petite woman with a surprised look on his face; the wave of fear came like a magical wave from her voice, immediately overwhelming his emotions. Hrothgar moved to the side, he wasn't even aware that he moved, since the effect of the spell was too strong. The mob behind her stopped running and yelling, everyone in the inn was scared to death.

Well, not everyone. The little piglet was now standing near his master's chair. Releasing a few grunts and snorts, it felt the presence of fear in the air, but somehow it wasn't feeling it. The piglet was young, maybe the spell just didn't affect it? Anyway, the piglet started running towards the leg of the young woman, then jumped and rammed into it. The young woman was probably going to lose balance, and then the piglet turned and opened its mouth; it was going to bite the woman's leg with its small sharp teeth. Yes, the teeth sunk into the woman's skin, but the bite wasn't so strong, but still it stopped the magic that was seeping from her.

Hrothgar snapped, shaking his head and unsheathing his axe. The mob behind was still standing, no one planned to attack the strange female. Hrothgar frowned and readied his axe, gripping it firmly with both hands. The dwarf was ready to fight, especially since that is also his money she stole. Buta was already running towards the dwarf, running away into safety, the shadow of his master. Its teeth weren't bloodied, since the piglet was very young and its bite wasn't strong, nor did it cover a large surface of her muscle.

[ I bended the description of the fear spell, also powerplayed a bit (didn't give you time to evade Buta's bite) so if you have objections/want me to edit, just PM me ^_^; Oh and sorry for such short and late reply ^^; ]
