Title: Unsettliing Feeling
Description: OPEN TO ALL

Sadness gripped Lan in a tight grasp, making him feel cold and lonely. Well, mostly lonely because he had no sense of feel so he really couldn't feel anything cold or warm. Unless you would term it as a personality, but thats not quite what he was really feeling at the moment.
His eyes scanned the dead wasteland before him. No trees bore any sign of life, just a worthless hollow/dead trunk of what would have once been life. Lan wondered what Dori'ba would have looked like if it had life, animals, flowers, flowing streams. It would truly be a beautiful place to be. Not like the wasteland before him now.
A grim sight lay out in front of the young vampire. His emotions were mixed as he looked at the dead trees and baron wasteland.

"I wander what cause this place to be this way," Lan let himself wander aloud.

Even though it was a dark and dreary place, Lan was drawn to this place. He could feel a strange emotion tugging at his soul, keeping him on edge. He walked passed a few large trees with skinny branches into the dark mist of the wastland. A chill wind blew but didn't affect him.
In a moment he tripped and fell over a large gray root of a dead tree. He could hear footsteps behind him. Lan turned over and sat up gripping his staff, ready for anything that was coming at him. Something was definately out there.

It was here that Lance came to his senses and found him at, Dori'ba, the 'Land of the Dead'; or at least it was called that. Of course, where he originally came from before being thrust into this mortal realm was one of the real lands of the dead, but this place was still befitting enough of the title.

From what he'd heard, it had come to be this way much in thanks to the old Apocalypse Alliances, which he'd had no news of for some time and figured must be gone, or perhaps just lying in wait. Made no difference to him, though; if they got in his way, he'd do whatever he could to make them regret that decision.

Yawning lightly out of a sort of habit of his, even though he never had any need for the activity, or sleep which it was associated with, he glanced around for a few moments, his single red eye taking in his surroundings; some withered trees, some bones, but overall just a desolate area, hints of it formerly being something more scattered here and there across the wasteland.

Hearing the sounds of someone falling in the range of his blind right side, he turned his head to see who, or what, it was, wandering over in that direction, hands hidden within his pockets as another habit he'd developed over his years in this mortal realm. Not expecting to see anyone he knew or even vaguely recognized, he found he was wrong in that thought. It was indeed someone he recognized quickly enough.

"Well, strange to see you out here," Lance said, smiling slightly, offering a hand to the young vampire. "Though I do have to say it's kind of nice seeing a familiar face after so long, from my short-time guild for that matter."

Lan - February 29, 2008 06:07 PM (GMT)
Lan turned and looked up at once, recognizing the voice. He was alittle surprised but glad to see the young boy again. It had been so long since he had last seen him. Lan wandered how everything was going for him.

"Thank you, Lance." Lan returned the smile as he helped him off the ground. "I'm still as clumsy as ever. Haha. Glad to see you!" He leaned against his staff for support. "Whatever happened to the guild, Lance? If you don't mind me asking. Me, I'm just out here because I've never been here. It is in interesting place but I don't know that much about it. Sorry I haven't been around for a while."

Lan remained where he stood on the wasteland as a gentle breeze blew, one that he could not feel. He never thought he would miss that sense of feeling because of pain. But the vampire did. Lan missed feeling the wind, the coldness of the air, the heat, etc. Things that a normal vampire cannot feel. Except emotions. He still had those to hold onto.
He waited for his friend to reply, his mind with a few questions.

At the mention of his former guild, the Brotherhood of the Shunned, Lance couldn't help but think back on it. It was well thought out, he'd believed at first, and he'd found some members for it early on, but then...well, needless to say, it didn't work out like he'd hoped. Even many he'd found that didn't have a place in the world didn't seem interested in being granted one, and those few he had found tended not to stay for very long. This young vampire, Lan, however, he'd thought of as a friend, and probably would've stayed to the end had Lance kept the guild going.

"As for the guild...unfortunately, it didn't work out. I guess people, even those like me that don't seem to have a place in the world, just aren't interested in having such a change brought about, where they can be given a place, a purpose," Lance said thoughtfully. It was a difficult fact for him to deal with, especially since it made him wonder if he'd ever find a place, a purpose, somewhere to belong away from his endless, meaningless wandering.

"Well, that's just me thinking, I guess. Guild or not, I'm still hoping to find some place in this world where I belong, where I actually have some sort of purpose. Right now I'm basically a treasure hunter, going back to my interest in the more unusual places of the world to try and find out more about them. Not really having much luck with that, granted..." he chuckled, then continued, "but it's better than just wandering aimlessly for all the eternity that I likely have left. So, what've you been doing, anyway? Haven't seen or heard from you or any of the old members since I took down the old tower."

(urgh...creativity going away, can't get posts as long as I'd like... >.< )

That answered most of the vampire's questions. It was a terrible thing to hear that the guild had disbanded. Lan thought it was a good idea and felt a little bad for not being around so much.

"Well, I thought The Brotherhood of the Shunned was a good idea," Lan told his friend with alittle added sympathy. "I liked it and I wish it could have stayed together. It would have been nice." Thinking on the other comment Lance made he said, "Don't worry, Lance. You'll find a place as will I. Somewhere, someday. We'll both find places where we belong and feels like home. We'll both find a place of meaning. A place of peace." Lan could even invision such a place only to question its exsitence. He continued,

Lan looked around at the wasteland, observing the dead trees for a short amount of time. The mist here seemed rather pale and light.

[color=red]"I heard that ghosts and the such lurk here,"
Lan added with thought. "Do you suppose thats true? I've never seen a ghost before." He asked his friend, Lance.

(Its alright.lol I think I'm having the same problem too.)

Lance - March 7, 2008 11:15 PM (GMT)
Find a place...maybe, someday, but right now it was unfortunately in the back of his mind. There were a few things he was busy with at the moment, including recently the Order of Doors tournament and his first mission with the Keepers of the Sacred Deed. Since those events, he hadn't had much of a desire to do much of anything, though he did still need to return to the Sanctuary of Angels for his young dragon.

"I've seen...plenty of things that could be called ghosts before, mainly as my past self, the one that I wish to leave behind..." Lance said, but he didn't allow the slightest hint of sadness or depression to enter his face or eye. That was his past; he'd left it, and Drake, mostly behind him now. "But there are some ghosts around here that I've seen, of villagers or warriors that lived here before the apparent slaughter and now don't wish to leave. Don't worry about that, though, most of them are fairly peaceful...it's just the ones from the old Apocalypse Alliances that should be avoided."

Although, now he thought of it, he was a demon from the Underworld, and Lan was an undead vampire, so neither of them were really in danger of being possessed or anything of the like, having close ties to the force of death.

Lan - April 2, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
Lan looked around a bit while Lance gave his explanation. Just to be sure that there were no ghosts around. Not that he had a problem with them. He just didn't want to miss seeing one because he had never saw one before; it would be really interesting if he did. All except those bad ones and running into them just wasn't too bright of an idea. Those ghosts could cause a mess of trouble and who knows what they were capable of. Just because they were ghosts didn't mean they couldn't harm him in some way ... not that Lan would actually feel it. He still wanted to becareful incase something occurred randomly.

"Thats good that most of the ghosts are peaceful. I wouldn't want to run into any bad ghosts anyway. That just wouldn't be too good." Lan remarked. "But its still a good place to look around in. I feel drawn here somehow. Maybe its because I am a vampire, the undead. I'm not sure though."

Lan stood there for a moment leaning against his heal staff trying to figure out what that strange feeling was. Well, it was more like a strange emotion. Lan felt drawn to the area around here, giving him a sense of curiouscity towards the unknown alittle bit.

Lan then asked his friend, "Lance, do you feel that strange feeling? Well, for me its more of an emotion ... but I am sensing something!"
