Title: A Walk On The Beach
Description: Open

((Sorry for the shortness, but I wasn’t sure what to put to start things off…))
It was a bright sunny day, with barely a cloud in the sky. A soft breeze blew over the white sanded beach. Small waves crashed on the shore, and sea birds flew high over the salty waters. All of this went unseen, but not unnoticed, by the half-elven girl.
Mei sat on the largest of the many rocks that were scattered across the beach, taking in the world in the only way that she could. She could feel the warm touch of the sun and the soft breeze that blew through her hair. The crashing sound of the waves echoed through her ears, followed by the sounds of the gulls. The smell of fish and salt washed over her. Everything was amazing to her. She could think back to the first time she had visited the ocean. She had been so overpowered by all the wonderful things. Now as she sat there she felt at peace.
The beach was the only place that could give her the same feeling as the forests she grew up in. She was unsure the reasons for this, but was glad to feel the way all the same. There appeared to be no one anywhere, but the blind girl hoped someone would show up. She was beginning to get rather bored just sitting around doing nothing.
She stood up and jumped from the rock, landing on her feet. It was not the most graceful landing and she almost fell as her feet slipped slightly on the sand. She quickly recovered from the mess-up and began to walk cheerfully down the beach.
Maybe there is something to do a little ways down, Mei thought happily.

(I've been tweaking this guy a bit, currently he dosn't actually have the dragon...or the shield, crossbow & arrows)
Tracyn walked down the beach, whistling to himself as he walked. He stopped for a moment, to watch some dolphins splash across the surface of the waves. He watched them untill he could see them no longer before setting off again. Tracyn turned on his heel and continued walking down the beach. He yawned, wiping sweat from his brow. He grumbled in irritation, it was getting annoying hot. He shoved his hands in his pockets and glared up at the sun menacingly. He shrugged and continued. Not like he could cool the air down or something like that. Nothing special about him, nope, nothing remarkable at all. Just a moddest commoner with modest earnings, and decent swordplay. He rubbed some more sweat out of his eyes, he wandered over to where the waves lapped the sand and splashed some up at his face. He stood up, unbuttoning his shirt for some fresh air, and continued yet again.
Soon enough Tracyn spotted somebody he hadn't noticed when he originally had knelt down to the water. He turned and waved slightly. At least there was somebody else out here to talk to.

((Still really short :grr: ))
Mei stopped to take off her boots so that she could walk along the edge of the beach and let the cool water touch her feet. She grabbed her boots in her right hand and continued her walk. There was still no sign of anything to do and she was afraid that she would never find anything on the peaceful sands. The heat became more intense as the sun moved across the sky, but she continued walking even so. She was not going to let the heat ruin her day. Plus, there was nothing better to do.
After a while she noticed a small magical force. It was impossible to tell what it was from a distance, but there was no mistaking that there was another on the beach. She began to wonder who or what it was, why they were on the beach, and if she should go talk to them. As she rounded a corner the being was obviously human. She walked toward the person filled with curiosity. She smiled warmly as she approached and held up a hand in a motionless wave. She wondered what this person would be like. There was no way to tell other than talking and that was fine with her.
"Hello, how are you today?" she asked when she finally reached the other, still smiling warmly.

(Just a little warning, when any of my characters get into conversation, my posting size drops dramatically)
Tracyn smiled in greeting, "Nice to see somebody else out on such a hot day. I thought I was the only one... Now that I think of it, I don't even know why I'm out on the beach..." He crossed his arms and furrowed his brow in contemplation, "Yeah, I must have forgotten. I have horrible memory when I got hot." He seemed to wipe off some sweat almost for emphasis.
Tracyn tilted his head slightly, "You must have a reason for getting cooked alive." He grinned and moved some dampened hair out of his eyes. Once wiping off his hand he let them hang at his sides, probobly the most comfortable place for them in the heat.

Mei giggled at the reply of the boy. He had a sense of humor if nothing else. It could get interesting talking to him. She loved meeting knew people. Getting to know them was fun. It gave her something to do if nothing else. After answering her question the human went on to say:
"You must have a reason for getting cooked alive."
Mei laughed again. She put her hand to her cheek as she thought about the answer. She really had no true reason for being on the beach, but she had to say something. Just standing there giggling would make her appear stupid and that was the last thing she wanted. After a few seconds of thinking about it she finally came to a good conclusion.
"I guess I just like bing on the beach. I had no idea it was going to be this hot out," she said thoughtfully, her face still frozen in a thinking position. Then another thought swam across her mind. She had not introduced herself to this boy. How strange it was to just talk to someone without telling your name. She didn't know his name either for that matter. She jumped slightly at the idea.
"I'm sorry, I almost forgot.," She said smiling. She held out a hand. "My name's Mei. It's very nice to meet you."

(Ahh sorry about the size, I'm writing pooped. I think I might be in too many topics :S )
Tracyn nodded and shook her hand. His lips curled to a slight smile "M' name is Tryacn." His handshake was firm, but gentel. Tryacn had an air of calm about him, almost a lazy calm. He took life slowly, living life one day at a time.
"So..." He shifted slightly, noticing the lack of tracking in her eyes, "I guess you are um...nevermind." He didn't want to offend her, and had caught himself before he said anything more. "Ah did'n mean to say nothin tha' may offend you." He put his hands in his pockets and whistled slightly, obviously embarassed.

((It's ok.))
"Nice to meet you Tryacn," Mei said warmly. His handshake was very welcoming, if not a little damp. The heat was obviously making him sweat. She wondered if she was sweating that bad. That would sure be embarrassing. That on top of forgetting to introduce herself would be a little to much.
"I guess you are um...nevermind. Ah did'n mean to say nothin tha' may offend you."
Mei's expression was blank for a moment. Blind. That is what he was going to say. She knew it. Everyone always picked that part out, but it was a little strange that he was just now noticing it. He was also the first person she had met in a while that had said it, or almost said it anyway. Her lips curled into another warm smile, yet thisone was different. It was not the childish smile she had had before. No, this smile reflected more of her age. It was calm and caring, rather that cheerful and energetic.
"It's okay. I've lived with it for....a long time," she said with a slight giggle. She was going to say for hundreds of years, but that might seem a little odd to Tryacn, who was human and had a much shorter life span than she did. Her smile changed back to the more childish version. "It's not like I don't know I'm blind. That would be strange," she said jokingly.

Tracyn smiled and nodded, glad that she didn't get irritated. He let his hands drop back to his sides, to air them out in a way. He yawned tiredly, conversation wasn't his strong point. Sleeping under a tree was, and right now he would love the shade. With that thought in mind, Tracyn began to examin the beach for any suitable trees. He rubbed his chin, compairing two different trees. He grunted lightly, satasfied with one he found. "Want to go sit under a tree? Bet it would be cooler than out here." He motioned to the tree with his thumb.

((Sorry for taking so long, and for the extreme shortness. I've been busy and sick. So sorry again.))
"Want to go sit under a tree? Bet it would be cooler than out here."
Mei smiled. It would be cooler to get out of the sun. The heat wasn't bothering her quite as much as it was bothering him, but she wanted to talk to Tracyn for a little while longer anyway. She nodded her head in agreement.
"That would be nice," She said cheerfully. She did not move however. She waited for him to move instead. He probably knew where he wanted to go so she would follow him.

Tracyn smiled and nodded. He was glad to have some company, things had been slow on his more recent trip. He wandered over to the shade of the large tree, dropping to his rump once under its cool leaves. He wiped sweat from his brow and made some room for his new acquaintance. "So where are you going to go next, if I may ask?" He tilted his head, ever so slightly, in a subconscious act of curiosity.
Tracyn turned his attention briefly to the water. The sunlight would filter down through the sparse clouds and reflect off the water. He squinted slightly when a reflected ray hit him in the eye. Tracyn sighed and leaned back against the bark, it was rather cool given the temperature that spread throughout the place.
