Title: Split Weapon / Armor Suggestions
Demetrio Vasquez - December 21, 2006 03:20 AM (GMT)
Also, I noticed that we don't have too many staffs, and maybe more cheaper staffs could be used? Bamboo staff, etc. They wouldn't need to be magical but they would be more widely available. Also, a collapsible staff or one which increases in size according to will.
Kinda like the one that belonged to the monkey king.

Would it be possible to get weapons like the elbow blades on Prince of Persia?
Then can I combine them with masterwork bracers to keep them as elbow blades, socket them with handles in the bracers so they can rotate and also be detachable? Or am I going too far, cause that's how they look on Prince of Persia. I've never played it, so I don't know exactly what they're like.

If you have not heard of yet, it is an ancient style of weapons made by demons. Looks mystic, normally is engraved with a glowing red design of ancient mithlogical encoding. Is a highly expensive set of weaponry.

| Double Blade |
Firstly, please use a bit more description if you're making a suggestion. And, we already have a double-bladed weapons. Try not to suggest things that already exist.

How bout a Dragonslayers Blade you know to help teh Dragon Slayers of this game.
Possibly as well Samuri Armor.
Maybe full Dragon Scale Armor as well.

It would be cool to have Hand-Bombs.
And for armor- it would be cool to have some armor robes. It's like armor, but put together as a robe.

Sword hilts that have a knife that can be removed.

Please do not double post, Shinji. If you have something new to add and no one has posted before you, then please edit your post. Thanks. :)

I think that it would be cool as well to have robes that have magical properties. Also, I agree with Al. Although Arganol probably wouldn't use them, I can think of a variety of people that would. Things like magical hammers and the like would most likely be used by Dwarves, and if anyone ever made a land naga, they would most likely want a trident of some sort. More bows would also be beneficial, even though we already have some pretty good choices. One that I could think of now that would be cool would be something like this.
Unknown Name, I don't really care
A bow that was forged by the hands of Rauko, deep within the Underworld. It is masterfully crafted, but very hard to pull back. This can only be wielded by someone that has the feat, Weapon Focus: Bows, due to the fact that it can only be used by a skilled wielder. Because it is hard to pull back, it can gather up enough force to pierce some metals. It has a blade crafted into the bottom of it that curves with the bow, but is still strong.
Price: Expensive. I'd say 500ish

I have a suggestion to go for socketed weapons:
How about gems with specific purposes that can be attached to staves? The staves would of course be a bit more expensive than regular staves in that they would be crafted specifically to hold various stones and emblems. I'm thinking something like what was in Lord of the Rings, where Gandalf put a small stone (a quartz, I think) into his staff to give him and the others light.
There would be stones that would serve a specific purpose like that, but there would also be elemental stones - you know, like a ruby that could greatly increase the power of fire-based spells because it was a focusing gem for fire-based magic. Or a sapphire for water- and ice-based magic.
Actually, focusing gems would be a good name for them.
Of course, there wouldn't just be elemental stones - that's just an example.
But like what about small hourglasses made specifically for time magic? Put them into the staff and the staff draws power from them to cast the spell through the staff, or vice versa (the hourglass drawing power from the staff to cast the spells through the hourglass itself). The staff could be a source of mana for the items, or the items could be sources of specific energies for the staves - like fire mana (as stated above) or time mana, or things like that.

You have just described the exact purpose of socketing as outlined in the
Reforgery. There are 2 shops already under construction for the gems that will be fastened into sockets.

Oh, whoops. Heh sorry. :grr:
P'Jeil Voési - September 12, 2007 02:17 PM (GMT)
How about armour for dragons and dragon forms? Even if they already have armoured scales doesn't mean they can't have more armour. They could be for the players out there, or they can be used as an accessory to the player's dragon and draconic familairs.
Also, how about armour that could change its shape with the character, for shapeshifters, werewolves, half-dragons, and people with polymorph.
(have I described an armour already or not?)
Dark Wraith - September 12, 2007 02:22 PM (GMT)
Any armor in the shops is assumed to fit your character. For example, if you bought a breastplate for a dragon character, it would be assumed that the breastplate is big enough to fit a dragon. Thus, dragon-specific armor probably isn't necessary.
Also, we gave away something similar to your second suggestion for the Easter Egg hunt or the Postathon, can't remember which. It was called Cantrum's Plate, and I believe it is currently in Merenwen's possession.
P'Jeil Voési - September 14, 2007 02:06 AM (GMT)
Is that so? hmmm, (makes a note to talk to Mere)
Ok, thats fine but I had originally meant like a new picture, maybe a new description for the dragon armor but the more I think about it the more I realize that that would make more work for the staff. So, yeah, not a good idea.
Thanks for the update Wraith.
DeiExMachinis - November 25, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
I'm new here so I might just not have noticed but I couldn't find any quarterstaffs (quarterstaves?) in the weapons section. Hanzo directed me to the 'staves' but... like I mentioned to him that would be like using a gun as a stick. Not terribly efficient. So if a set of non-magical staves (quarterstaffs, what have you) could be implemented that would be great!
Yunalesca - January 2, 2008 04:01 PM (GMT)
I was thinking about a new weapon class.
War Fans....ok, I know it sounds weird, but give me a chance to explain.
They are oriental type fans, like the Chinese ones, silk covered ones, not paper. They can have what ever design on them - admin or user choice - its up to you. Inside of the silk is a steel (or what ever kind of metal) blade, that can be used for stabbing when the fan is closed, or slashing when the fan is open.
just a thought though.
Dark Angel - February 9, 2008 07:44 AM (GMT)
i looked but could not find it... but i was thinking maybe a scythe would be a great addition to the weapons
Kiesu Shiinto - February 9, 2008 07:52 AM (GMT)
CURSE YOU :grr: I WAS JUST ABOUT TO SUGGEST THAT :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:
