Title: Tournament: Quile vs. Velox

Velox - February 9, 2006 10:20 PM (GMT)
The Sanctuary of Angels seemed a most peculiar place to arrange a full-frontal battle, however Velox deemed that fact unnecessary to think about at this time. She was the first to enter the fighting area: a large circle filled with lush, green grass. The perimeters of the dueling area were created using flattened rocks that surrounded it. Velox stomped on the soft terrain for a few moments, hooves creating small grooves in the ground from where her appendages met it. Velox, brandishing her newly-shined spear The Eagle Talon, looked again at the piece of paper showing all the matches. It was a tattered, dirty little thing with the virgataur’s match circled using some sort of charcoal. It read…

Class A) - Casters

Match 1: Sanctuary of the Angels
Quile – Shapeshifting/Druid – Combat Caster
Verox- Virgatuar/Battlemage - Combat Caster

“At least I’m at the right place,” Velox said to herself, “but that ignorant man misspelled by name. And my race’s name! Such disrespect.” The zebra-centaur snorted and lowered her head, shaking her head in disbelief. “…but I can deal with that later.” She trotted over to a leather pack sitting nearby and stuffed the piece of paper into it with little to no care.

’So, I’m up against a druid. If it’s a centaur, I may just kill it.’ Velox thought with a shrug. She ran her clawed fingers along the polished tip of her spear, ready to get it bloody. ’Even though our powers are similar, I have both the better racial qualities and a weapon I know how to use.’ She lifted her coal black gaze from her spear to take a moment to look around, finding no one that even remotely resembled a druid. Or any non-angel for that matter. With the patience of a mountain, Velox quietly waited for her opponent to arrive.

Quile - February 10, 2006 01:04 AM (GMT)
Quile flapped her massive wings high above the Sanctuary of Angels. the wind rustled her feathers as she gazed out of piercing black eyes at the odd being below her. She ahd chosen to show up in the form of a giant eagle, and as she came over the area that would be the fight, she let out an earsplitting shriek as she tucked her wings in and rolled over, going straight at the ground like a comet. She pulled up at the last minute and flapped back a few times to slow herself down, before she shifted back into her human form.
She landed at a walk, and unsheathed her scimitar at the same time. She walked to within about 25 yards of the now quite visible creature that was her intended opponent. She looked at it and raised an eyebrow. A zebra centaur. That was a new one on her. She figured it could always be possible, but shed never seen, nor heard of one. The centaur held a wicked looking spear in her hand, and looked to be lightly equiped. She knew how centaurs fought, her best friend being one, but she wondered if this smaller bried fought differently, or had different strengths and weaknesses. She twirled her sword absently as she said, "Hello, my name is Quile. I am guessing your Velox?"
She hoped the introductions wouldnt take long, but she prefered to know who her opponent is before she fought them. You never know if you fight someone important.
