Title: Finished with a Swim...

Evadne - April 26, 2004 11:39 PM (GMT)
Evadne surfaced in the middle of the lake. She had just visited the bottom of the lake, finding it beautiful, much different from her home in the ocean. The water was clear and fresh. Now she laid on her back and looked at the bright blue sky, propelling herself forward lazily with her arms towards the lakes shore.

Once she got to the shallows, she turned over and stood, walking to a fallen log in the water and sitting on it. Her clothes were sopping wet and her long hair clung to her back and neck, but she didn't mind. The sun was shining and would quickly dry her. Though she missed her family, she had to admit that the surface was truly beautiful...

Chimara - April 27, 2004 02:32 AM (GMT)
Chimara approached the water in the form of a golden eagle, the sun danced of his sheening feathers. He glided down to the lake's surface and swooped beside a lady he saw nearby. He landed on part of the log beside her.

He spoke, his voice echoes around her, as if not coming from anything at all. "Hello young child," he said softly, his voice seeming to carass her cheeks with the sun itself.

He watched her, sidelong, with one big, gold eagle eye. The slight breeze ruffled through his feathers and tickled at the water's surface.

Evadne - April 27, 2004 08:19 PM (GMT)
[glow=lightblue,2]Evadne was startled to hear the eagle speak, or at least she guessed it was the eagle, because the voice was disembodied and all around her...

She wasn't sure what to say at first. She had never conversed with a creature above the surface of her homeland.

"Greetings," Evadne spoke quietly, bowing her head slightly. Never had she seen any creature as beautiful as this since she had been on the surface. The sun was also shining more warmly than she remembered it being before. Somehow, she couldn't believe that this truly was any normal eagle and it deserved her respect...

Chimara - April 27, 2004 09:00 PM (GMT)
Chimara shook his eagle feathered head and tried to laugh. An eagles screetch escaped his beak and cut quickly through the air. His voice echoed once more around her, "Oh dear that will not do," he said softly, his eagle eyes closing.

He took off towards the sun until he was a mere silohette (sp) against the blinding light. There was a bright explosion of light and a splash echoed over the lake.

He broke the surface of the water in his human form, his sun kissed hair flat against his neck and back. He let out a true laugh and swam over to the woman.

"Sorry for the... yell Miss," he said with a wry smile, "I would have to have pained your ears."

Evadne - April 27, 2004 11:00 PM (GMT)
[glow=lightblue,1]Again, Evadne was stunned. The eagle indeed hurt her ears a little, but was too curious to know more about the creature. Then when it took off and took the form of a human, it surprised her, but she also felt a little foolish for not realizing it before. Her tribe had a woman, a healer, actually, who could change her shape as well, much like this stranger had.

She smiled despite herself and even though she did not like strangers often, she couldn't believe that this man would be hostile. He was to joyful, she decided.

Evadne shook her head. "No... Not too bad at least, milord," she said with a small smile.[/glow]

Chimara - April 27, 2004 11:17 PM (GMT)
Chimara continued to tred water close to her and let a polite smile.

"Now, My Child," he said soflty his body slightly tired from the swim and shape change, "What brings you here?"

She looked like a water dweller, and he hadn't seen her up here before, so he made a bold assumption. Suddenly he was standing, collar deep in the water, two pools of light under the water at his feet, holding him upright.

Evadne - April 28, 2004 12:30 AM (GMT)
[glow=lightblue,1]Deciding there really wasn't anything to hide, she spoke. "I just came upon this beautiful lake and couldn't resist a swim. Its amazing how different fresh water is from sea water..." she shrugged lightly and smiled a little again. "I used to live with my tribe beneath the ocean waves."

Evadne noticed the light and was curious, but wasn't sure how to ask him about it. He very well could have been merely a mage, but Evadne somehow doubted that. Though she, as a sorceress could sense the magic aura around him, she believed he was something more powerful.[/glow]

Chimara - April 30, 2004 01:41 PM (GMT)
Chimara chuckled softly and ran a hand through his dripping hair. His light blue eyes danced in amusment.

"Yes freshwater IS much different, though it holds much of the same dangers." He glanced over the waters surface and continued, "Is your aquatic homeland near here somewhat?" he asked, interested.

He return his gaze to her and dropped back into treading water, the pools of light dissappearing. His muscles flexed and released in the effort, his clothing clinging to his flesh while floating around him at the same time...

Evadne - April 30, 2004 09:04 PM (GMT)
[glow=lightblue,1]She shrugged a little. "Sometimes... My tribe moves from place to place, mostly... Right now though, I a long ways from home. I left my tribe to travel the surface realm."

Evadne trusted this man, more than anyone she had met on the surface so far. He had a light and cheerful demeanor, unlike most. Humans tended to be borish, or at least that was what she had been taught, but did not see this in him.

Chimara - April 30, 2004 09:07 PM (GMT)
He nodded, his smile gone. "Do you miss them?" he asked thinking of Mother Flame and Father Time.

He sunk into the water after he spoke until only his eyes were above the water. His hair brushed away from him in soft waves.

Evadne - April 30, 2004 09:24 PM (GMT)
[glow=lightblue,1]Evadne paused a moment. "Yes. I suppose I do... They were always kind to me, the entire tribe, but they always thought I was crazy to want to come to the surface," she laughed slightly. "This is where, I belong, I think. Somewhat in the water and some on the land." Evadne again shrugged, knowing she probably wasn't making much sense.[/glow]

Chimara - May 2, 2004 11:51 PM (GMT)
He smiled softly understanding what she meant.

"If you're ever in need of company, come to my temp-" he stopped not wanting to give it away, "home... there will always be a room of water for you."

He smiled again, falling back to float on his back, his eyes staring up unblinking at the blinging sun. His hair spread out around him like rays of light themselves and his same kind smile played on his lips.
