Title: Inner Peace

Laufeia Stood in the middle of the pasture holding the limp body of a dead rabbit, she looked down at it with extreme grief, she cursed for the many times she has killed and not wanted to but has to or risk killing humans. she ran towards the other end of the field and let the tension drain from her body. she almost wanted to cry with grief form the things she felt and the things she has done towards innocent animals. She was not a killer but a man had made her one and now she must act on that instinct.

She ran to the edge of the forest and stopped dead, senseing another presence, she had just begun to let the change come over her and now she had to work in stopping it. In seconds she as gleaming with sweat and grimaceing in pain she gave a loud yell and collasped into the grass in pure exhaustion, she had to learn to control the change and not suffer these effects. she just hoped the presence wasnt an enemy and she would live till tommarow.

How could Zekhen spend a day off other than going on a walk throughout the wilderness of Arda, even if it was with no certain destination or purpose. It happened that every time he left the city to stumble across something interesting. He lived in a world of dangers and plenty of possibilities, that or either he was just plain unlucky.
He has tended to his horse that morning, washing and brushing it with care like he did so many times, before adorning it with its usual sparkling and breathtaking trinkets. Both the horse and its owner couldn’t help but look very exotic. The habits concerning the way he clothed came very hard for the desert-born elf to forget.

Many disagreed and denied the bond that has been made between the rider and its mount, claming that the poor animal is just a mere slave of its master will, but truth was that Zekhen probably placed his horse before everything else, as an extension of his own body and personality, his best friend and the most trusted companion.

The white horse trotted proudly through the grasslands, carrying the elven figure on its back. Sooner than they expected the inevitable happened, and the course of actions took an interesting turn, as Zekhen spotted the figure of a woman falling towards the ground as if she got struck by an arrow or by a magical attack, and yet there were no trace of any of those. She laid there on the ground, her body limp and her breathing barely noticeable. Was she dead or just passed out? There was only one way for the man to find out! He kneeled his horse into the side as to increase the speed and approach the woman. Once there, he dismounted and dropped to one of his knees, checking the body for any sign of lives. It proved that she was indeed alive, but was she able to speak or anything like that?
He took a grab of her shoulders and pulled her closer to him, hitting each side of her face with his palm repeatedly in a gentle manner. “Hey, are you still here, say something!”

His eyes scanned the surrounding areas, yet they could not see any imminent danger, probably the girl was running from something and fell exhausted, perhaps she was starving or suffering from dehydration. He took a hold a firm hold of one of his water supplies attached to his horse, pulled it and then splashed some fresh liquid over her face, perhaps that will wake her up, if didn’t, then he wouldn’t know what to do with her, he barely knew any healing tricks. Perhaps he should take her to Lómëdor instead.

Hear and senseing the presence coming closer, her mucels tensed up once more even though she was not in her wolf form any longer. Feeling liqued trickel into her mouth her eyes shot open and she spit it out thinking it was some kind of poisen. After finally gaining control of the shock that had engulfed ehr she looked at the man who had poured the drink. She saw he was an elf and immediatly regretted her bad manners for after she spit it out she had realized it was only water. Nobody disrespected an elf like she had it was un heard of.

She the sat up and stretched her arms above her head and kneaded the mucels at her neck which were almost always tensed up. She then look back at the elf and said in a confiedent voice, "My name is Laufiea and I am sorry that i disrespected you before i realize you were only trying to help." Taking a peice of cloth, she wiped at her forhead and mouth making sure there was no blood on it, she did not want this man to find out what she is at night, to many chances to amny risks come form revealing one's true form.

Wrapping her arms around her knees she looked at the man woth wamrm eyes and said "so what is your name and how did you come to find me, especiualy in this state?" she was embarressed in him finding her renched in sweat and trembling, but she could not control the effects of controling the change. She then stood up to stretch out ehr leg mucels otherwise she would not be able to walk that day and she need to be able to run from danger that she seemed always to be after her.

A brow was slightly perked by the elf, as splashes of water struck his face. She spat the water, and looked like she was refusing his help. He retreated by standing up and taking a few steps back, it was almost certain that the woman was confused and didn’t really know what was going on around her, probably the whole word was spinning for her. If they would have met a few years before, in the same circumstances, probably he would have been offended by her behavior, but not now. Not since he became a sort of a fighter against evil and vile creatures.

“It… is okay, I guess.” He shrugged slightly, and extended a hand towards his horse, caressing its mane idly. “So, please do tell me, what happened to you. Rare are the times when I see women falling as if they are struck by arrows.” Curiosity was obvious onto the expression of his face, and yet he remained a little neutral in what concerned the whole thing. He expected something like this to happen, and he expected even more than that, probably later that day he will be in a far worse situation, probably he will be badly wounded or something.

His main concern, however, was now the woman before him, should he trust her?
“I don’t think my name is of much importance, but I will share it with you. My name is Khaldun Zekhen, and I come from the distant and ruthless Anfauglir Desert. That, and I just happened to stumble across you randomly.” He had a moment of hesitation, but soon faded away. “And how about you? What’s your name?

The keen eye of the desert elf could not be deceived, as soon as she wiped her mouth with a cloth as soon he noticed a strange taint or red to it, could it be blood, could it be her own or something else’s. Very interesting, the feeling dictating him to be wary proved not be in vain, after all.

his glance at her cloth did not go unnoticed by her she saw a tint of blood on it and folded it in a slow manner as to not draw attention to it again. "I am Laufeia and i come form a place where everything was peaceful and great and we were once well respected and prayed upon but then..."she hesitated still trying to decide if she should tell him the trueth or not, she decided now would not be the best of time to tell him, she was not in any condition to fight if he attacked her.

She swayed a little and then stood upright."AS for what I was doing, i was hunting and running and then the fo.........she stopped she was going to release the one detail in her life that could get her killed she looked at him with all the straight forwardness as she could muster hopeing her would not pursue her unfinished entence and willing him not to guess the rest of it. Knowing that she was stronger than him and more surperior than him while in her wolf form made her see him as food...attacking and chaseing her game....she stopped and realized hr eyes had opened wide and that she was all tensed up in her mucels again.

She looked at him and said. "Do you have any type specific job you do?" she said this while walking, rather limping to a nerby river that ran throught the feild, she gazed at her reflection and saw flecks of red in them, this was not good she was loseing her control and didnt want him to be near when she did, she clenched her fists and unclenched them cupping her hands and taking a sip of water."I am a danger to you, you dont know it but I am, I will not harm him and i will not think of him and prey, I have the control and I have the will, god help me, for i need it desperatly." she wispered this with her eyes focused towards the other end of the feild in the forest.
