Chapter I: The Wraith
Valindor walked up onto the marble steps of the library, two large Oak doors standing high infront of him, nearly 10 times his size. Two guards stood on either side, Clad in thick black armour, embroided with gold dwarven text. The men
weren't phased by Valindor, as they kept their spears on their sides, as stiff as
statues. "Um, may i pass?" Valindor said in a puzzled tone. The men barely had
to pull to open up the Large doors, allowing Valindor to enter the Parmamar
Library.
It was huge, massive bookshelves the size of elephants were everywhere, each
one holding what seemed like a million books. It was the greatest thing Valindor
had ever seen. The sound of whispering and giggling filled the room, along with the
serious talk of Adults to other adults. The massive cloth curtains draped down the ceiling, with the Word "Lõmëdor" Written downwards in a Gold embroided text,
obviously in Dwarven. The library would stretch over many floors, each one more
delicate and original as the last. By the time he reached the Front desk, it seemed
the lady was already busy with someone else. Valindor made his way over to a
small group of giggling girls who seemed to be about his age, Valindor was happy.
As he made his way over to the group, something caught his eye. Something
extremely suspicious, and appeared dangerous at that. A man, who was moving
very swiftly and quietly, even for a library. Valindor subsided from flirting with the
bunch of girls for now, and followed the man. The man turned around, obviously
knowing he was being followed. Valindor quickly took cover behind a bookcase, making sure not to be seen.
The man then continued on around the bend, now heading for the large marble stairs which led to the second floor of the library. Valindor started to quicken his pace, as the man was also. Valindor pursued him up and around the large library,
not being seen once. After around Fifteen or twenty minutes of following, the
Cloaked figure stopped near a Steel fence which surrounded one bookshelf in the whole library, which seemed like the Man couldn't go any further on in his tracks.
Suddenly, the figure kept on walking, Valindor watched on from behind a bookcase,
puzzled to what was going on. The man walked right through the fence and reached for one of the books, taking it from its position on the Shelves. "WHAT?!" Valindor thought, it was impossible. This figure was, it was a wraith.
"Leave child, or perish" The wraith said, a cold chill running down Valindors spine.
"He can see me?!" Valindor thought. "Of course i can, You've followed me here out of curiousity" The wraith said. Valindor stared on, could this creature read his mind? Valindor wasn't sure and he truly didn't want to find out for himself.
"Now you must die, you've seen too much" The wraith said, another chill running down the Young Magician's spine. A jet of white thunder sparked from the wraiths
fingertips, sending itself straight towards Valindor. Valindor pulled his staff from his back, unravelled it and ducked down, avoiding the wraiths first attack.
Chapter II: The Duel
The spark barely avoiding Valindors head, he'd have to fight back if he wished to come out of the place alive, or barely. Valindor pulled out his staff, gripped onto
it with both of his hands and sent off a jet of Fire at the wraith, missing it completely. "Damnit!" he cried before dodging another jet of thunder. The duel continued with nobody damaged for a few more minutes, before a Massive jet of
Blue lightning struck the young mage in the chest, knocking him to the floor, his
robes burnt. "Come boy, get to your feet" the wraith taunted as Valindor gained
his foothold again. "Cmon!" Valindor said as he raised his staff and aimed it at
the figure, ready to strike again. *ZOOM* Valindor let off a blast at the Wraith, engulfing him in the flames. The wraith moaned in pain, as the flames started burning the wraith and what the mage hoped would kill it, but it didn't. The flames stopped and the Wraith let off a devastating barrage of lightning, hitting all nearby books and zapping across the shelves. The delicate curtains in which hung off the ceiling were now burnt and charcoal. Valindor had to finish this soon or it'd be the end of him.
Pulling out a small object from his right robe pocket, Valindor sent it down to the floor hoping it would cover him while he thought of a plan to win this duel. The wraith's head looked down upon the object.. *BOOM* The flash pellet went off and blinded the wraith temporarily, though it'd be long enough for the Young Mage to capitalize on it. Spinning his staff down, he took aim at the wraith, who was now going wild with rage and turning rapidly. Valindor held his staff ready, ready to fire at the wraith when it stopped moving wildly. "Urghhh" now was the time. Valindor let off a jet of flame at the Wraith. [To be continued....]
