Title: A shore side trot.
Description: (open to all)
Temathil - February 5, 2006 04:35 AM (GMT)
Temathil rotted along the shore of the tranquil lake. The moon was only 3/4ths full so it was somewhat dark. She saw as though it were day though, a skill taught to her from her father.
she had a smile on her face as she picked up speed and galloped through the shallows near the shore. The water sprayed up and she giggle as if she were a little girl. The water was cool and refreshing. She had been traveling for the day and enjoyed the break. She stopped with her hovves covered in the water looking at the moon. She loved watching it, trying to see new shapes. It awed her. It was a trait shared among her people. She remembered her and her friends going for nightime runs to a large high hill and laying in the long soft grass while talking and looking at the moon and area.
The moon caught her attention so that she was blind to everything that was around.

Awakening from his state of meditation Sanjuro heard the sound of hooves moving along the cost. Perhaps that is a knight I can kill then take his stead and weapons. He thought to himself opening his eyes which were then immersed in water. Sanjuro had traveled to this spot to soak his blood stained armor in an attempt to clean it, however the peaceful silence of the area caused him to drift away into the deeper thoughts of his fragile mind. One of his standard didn’t require air, or to breath in general in that matter. The water had two tiny gleaming red dots bouncing on its surface, the eyes of the creature now saw it had already passed dusk, but it couldn’t quite make out the figure it was targeting. Is that a woman? he thought to himself once again. Enough time had passed and Sunjuro decided it was time to make his move now or never. He then leaped from beneath the water towards his prey like a bat flying out of hell. It was truly a sight to behold, the reflection of water dripping of the armor, that gleamed red under the glow of his eyes, combined with the shine of the cresant moon light almost gave beauty to the horrific looking man. The image rapidly became clearer to Sanjuro’s eyes, and when they focused he stopped dead in his tracks. Not by the fact his selected target was a female, but because her body was connected to that of the lower body of a horse! The sudden jerk of movement combined with the weight of his sword and water soaked armor almost caused him to lose his balance and fall forward face first. His presence now must have been obviously known by any observing the land. “Bah! What kind of monster are you?!” He simply said looking the horse woman up and down dumbfounded at her sight. Grant it, although he knew much and seen alot in his lives a live centar was a first.
Temathil - February 5, 2006 07:19 AM (GMT)
Temathil gasped in suprise and fear and bolted for the forest edge as the abomination charged at her from the water. She stopped near the tree line though as she heard it struggle. Looking back she heard it say, "“Bah! What kind of monster are you?!”
She edged closer to the woods. The creature was indeed horrifying to her. It had no hair and its eyes glowed red like a demon. It was also shorter than her though. Every instinct she had told her too run, to get away, but she fought her emotions down. Intrestingly, her curiousity never rose and in a shaking and weak voice she said, "I-im a centaur....."
Liquid - February 5, 2006 06:59 PM (GMT)
Sunjuro tried to raise an eyebrow as he watched the creature stop in the distance and then respond to him. Looking down into the water and seeing the monster peer back up at him he then remembered his new host’s body didn’t come with eyebrows. So this is the mighty Sanjuro, Knight of God, vanquisher of the embodiment of evil… Resorting to frightening away women- or horses? He thought to himself, “Teheh!” then letting out a chuckle. He took no consolation in frightening either of the two. “Forgive me!” he called over to her, and the red tint faded from his eyes leaving dark empty eye sockets. The red glow really didn’t enhance a creature’s vision, it was more of an automatic Fear casting technique (let that be a lesion to any that have encountered such a monster). “You see I was under the impression you were an enemy solider, or a dark knight of some sorts. I really had no intention of harming you.” He said feeling kind of silly for explaining himself to a woman with the body of a horse. Be it he wasn’t sure if she could even understand him. In any case Sanjuro felt enough time had been passed here, he needed to find something better then the pathetic sword he carried, and a more dignified suit of armor. The night was the best time to search for prey that might have his requirements, it made him more intimidating, and he wasn’t handicapped by the darkness. Thus with out another word he lifted himself from the water and continued down the path of the coast in the opposite direction.
Temathil - February 5, 2006 07:24 PM (GMT)
Temathil lowered bow, in confusement. This dark creature was hunting other dark creatures?
She put the arrow back in the quiver as she watched the being disappear. Then she decided it might be a good idea to follow him and find out where he was going. whether he really was good or not.
she trotted off around the lakes treeline, taking care not to make loud noises, but with hooves and stone shores, it was not possible.
Dizahab - February 6, 2006 04:53 AM (GMT)
The centaur was not the only one in pursuit of the wayward spirit, his friends in the underworld had a score to settle, and although there hell was a different reality then this lands, it was not difficult to find an assassin willing to drag Sanjuro back to their realm’s hell for a price. Thus they sent Dizahab, a violent elf like Drow that studied the dark arts after him. Although tracking a spirit was a difficult task, Dizahab had dedicated his whole day towards it. He then heard the centaur moving about. “You there! Hault!” he called to her.
Quile - February 6, 2006 05:17 AM (GMT)
Quila soared over head, watching her friend, Temathil, chase after a rather scary looking man. She suddenly saw another individual enter the picture. Going to the ground she shifted into her human form, drawing her scimitar, she crouched behind a tree. she wanted to make sure her friend stayed safe. But she didnt want to get into a fight if she didnt have to. So she sat and watched.
Temathil - February 6, 2006 05:22 AM (GMT)
Temathil glimpsed a eagle flying above her as she ran after the man. Suddenly someone came out of no where and startled her.
"You there! Hault!" he demanded.
She came to a sudden stop. She saw he had power, and that he was a drow. She smelled the evil that eminated from him. she quickly drew her bow onto him.
"What do you want drow? Im going to lose the one im following so talk fast!" she demanded.
Im am so stupid, she thought to herself.
Dizahab - February 6, 2006 05:31 AM (GMT)
“The one your following?!” He questioned in anger. “Don’t be so foolish Centaur; you are like a rabbit chasing after a fox!” He said drawing closer to her, “Tell me, what you know of that man? Are you one of his companions?!” He said in a hostile manner sizing her up and down. The way he moved his long claw like fingers almost symbolized how he was itching to tear into someone.
Temathil - February 6, 2006 05:49 AM (GMT)
Temathil narrowed her eyes at the Drow. As he got closer she reared up, kicking out with her powerfull hooves, trying to keep him away.
"No i am not his companion. Im following him to make sure he doesnt harm anyone innocent. All i think i know is that he is evil. Im thinking though he is much less evil than you." she said bitterly.
She didnt like this drow. He was too arrogant and pushy, and seemed far to eager to kill something.
Liquid - February 7, 2006 05:49 AM (GMT)
Sanjuro who was only a few yards ahead, listened to the commotion going on behind him. He had heard just about enough, he thought to himself backtracking and peering at the Drow circling the horse woman from behind a tree. He felt somewhat obligated to go and slay the Drow, after all from what he heard it was looking for him anyway. Sanjuro glanced down at his equipment; it was that of a peasant, not a warrior. This Drow had claws the size of his torso, a slip or a single wrong move would probably lead him to being impaled upon them, as his armor was practically mere decoration. Sanjuro then glanced at the sword the Drow was carrying, it must have just been a trinket, but it still looked like an average to decent weapon. The horse woman suddenly was kicking up at the Drow, and it didn’t seem to be backing down, thus now was the time to strike, and now was the time to slay the vile creature. Sanjuro knew if he took a stealth approach the Drow probably would attack the horse woman before he reached them, and although he considered using this as a tactical strategy he decided to lure the beast away from her. “Drow!” He shouted making his way out into the open water. “It is I, Sanjuro! I am the one you seek!” He said quickening his pace, and drawing his sword as his eyes went ablaze. “I see you come here to play with death foolish one! Brace yourself into finding your place in eternity, and believe me, for the likes of you it will be very unpleasant!” Sanjuro then charged full force through the water and leaped into the air towards the Drow, his sword well over his head like a demon that was one with his weapon. Aiming to slice down on the creature’s head Sanjuro swung his sword in at attempt to decapitate him.
Dizahab - February 7, 2006 05:52 AM (GMT)
Dizahab was well ready and waiting for Sanjuro to make his move, as the specter drew closer he eyed him closely. As Sanjuro swung Dizahab used his massive claw to knock away the puny peasant sword, and his other claw to tear up into him, like a pitchfork going through butter. Then in one continuous motion he hurled the specter down into the shallow water below. It was obvious Sanjuro wasn’t going to drowned, so Dizahab pulled his claw out from his body, then lifted Sanjuro up into the air, using both his claws in an attempt to tear that pretty skull head off for a trophy. “Hahaha! You are pathetic, even less worthy then a man! Hahahahaha!” Dizahab laughed mocking him.
Liquid - February 7, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
During the Drow’s claw assault Sanjuro had a flash back of being impaled on spikes. It was one of the many grim ways he had died in his former lives, and he had no intention of letting it happen again here. There was also another strange sensation he was feeling, was it pain he wondered? Maybe it was a natural hatred toward his foe, for he was more concerned about who sent him and why more then anything, even killing him. Sanjuro forced those thoughts out of his mind as the Drow’s grip tightened. It was time to even the odds, Sanjuro always worked best when the odds were against him… “I am a man…” He choked out saying to the creature, and then spiting a mouthful of blood in his face. Sanjuro immediately turned his neck away from the direct pressure to avoid crushing his windpipe, then to break the Drow’s grasp he clasped his hands together and executed a quick upward thrust into his head. Sanjuro could now break the hold by raising both his arms between the Drow’s arms and forcing them apart. Now the time had come to take the fight out of Disahab, Sanjuro quickly grabbed a chunk of his hair and bought his fiendish foe’s head right down on his upraised knee. That being sufficient enough to break free Sanjuro knew he didn’t have time to catch whatever breath he had, so he quickly grabbed Disahab’s blade out of the sheath, spinning around so his back was to him then thrusting the sword backwards in an attempt to impale his foe on his own sword.
Dizahab - February 7, 2006 06:14 AM (GMT)
Dizahab still seeing stars saw his sword flying towards him, and with his great agility shifted his body to the left of the blade, saving himself from certain death, although it clipped him a little. This creature is truly no man, he must be some type of a war demon Dizahab thought to himself clenching his wounded side with one claw, and bringing down his other connecting with Sanjuro’s elbow to disarm him, and reclaim his sword. “You have made a powerful enemy today specter! Although you won the battle, it is far from over; the next time we meet you won’t be so lucky!” He said making a hasty retreat, be it that he would not be able to defeat the specter today, he would return to finish what he started.
Liquid - February 7, 2006 06:31 AM (GMT)
Though Sanjuro had the Drow on the run he did not give pursuit, although he would like to believe he was unbreakable Sanjuro’s body had been damaged by the Drow’s claw attack. Thus it would suit him better to give his enemies the illusion he was immortal rather then chase after them and be struck down. Hiding his signs of pain Sanjuro shifted through the murky water looking for his self dubbed peasant blade. He then caught a glimpse of the horse woman once again, his eyes suddenly darkened and the fire faded. Raising his hand up to her like a single to wait he called, “That creature should not be of bother to you from this day forth! Although he is powerful, he is a coward at heart.” He said finally finding his wayward sword. Sanjuro had concern for the centaur not really in a caring fashion, he was more afraid she would take his kill. At least that is what he kept telling himself. He then lifted himself up, and straightened himself out. “My apologies, it is not of my choice to have such creatures stalk me.” He simply said, and decided it probably would be best if he made his leave before someone else got hurt…
Temathil - February 7, 2006 09:43 PM (GMT)
Temathil watched the engagment in awe. Both of the fighters were extremly strong and fast. She stood on the shore, arrow drawn but not up, she couldnt figure out wich to shoot and which was strongest. Eventually the drow turned to ran and Temathil was about to gallop after him when the demon stoped her.
She listened to him.
"what am i listening to a demon for? Maybe this one is not all evil..." she thought to herself.
"What is your name demon?" she asked aloud.
Liquid - February 7, 2006 10:07 PM (GMT)
“I am not a demon! I am a man!” he said spiting into the water. He seemed to have a peeve when anyone referred to him as something other then human, which was of course ironic since he looked so far from it. “My name is Sanjuro. I am not a hunter, or an assassin. I am a warrior of God! One who has lived a hundred lives, and killed an equal amount of men. Do not mourn them, for they have been given the greatest of gifts, the right to die. Something I have been deprived of.”
Temathil - February 8, 2006 03:20 AM (GMT)
Temathil startled at the mans sudden response about not being a demon. She looked him up and down again and heard him say, “My name is Sanjuro. I am not a hunter, or an assassin. I am a warrior of God! One who has lived a hundred lives, and killed an equal amount of men. Do not mourn them, for they have been given the greatest of gifts, the right to die. Something I have been deprived of.”
She calmed down and edged closer to the water.
"Well, my name is Temathil. And I would like to know why that drow was after your head."
Liquid - February 8, 2006 04:54 AM (GMT)
“Teheh!” Sanjuro chuckled as he slowly made his way through the shallow water and to the dry shore land. “Your guess is as good as mine, perhaps I wronged him in another life. In any case a drow is the least of my concerns.” He said shaking himself off, and ringing out his wet shirt. “Why is it a creature such as you have any concern over me or the vile drow? You could have shot him with an arrow, but you hesitated, just as you could have easily shot me. As you still can now, but instead you question my existence. Question me to be a demon, or perhaps someone with an evil alignment? Well if that be the case I say to you take your shot now, or judge me by my deeds and not my appearance.”
Temathil - February 8, 2006 05:34 AM (GMT)
Temathil couldnt decide what to do. The human...well humanish thing was nice, and he seemed to be an enemy of the drow. finally she just put her bow away since she couldnt decide what to do.
"I didnt shoot either of you because i didnt know which was the strongest, id rather have the lesser of two evils live. As for not shooting you know...we will see. If you are a good as you say you are, then we will have no problems." she said.
She stood now, by the water line, watching as the man wringed out his clothing. she rested her hand on the pommel of her sword, as if just resting it. She still didnt trust this man, but if the drow were to show up again, it would be best to have an allie.
Mira - February 8, 2006 06:10 AM (GMT)
"Whats going on here?" She said waking up from her spot in a nearby tree. "This is weird." She climbed down and grasped the situation. "Hey...whats going on?" She walked over to them. "How goes the day for you both." She said smiling. She played with the hilt of her sword. She had no recollection of ever knowing either of them and she wasn't going to take any chances.
Temathil - February 8, 2006 02:16 PM (GMT)
Temathil looked around to see a girl standing near her. "Where did you come from?" she asked suprised. Shaking her head she said, "Nevermind. My name is Temathil and this is....well i have a hard time saying his name, ill let him introduce himself." She said motioning at Sanjuro.
She turned back to the woman. She waws a bit different from other humans, and she was playing with the hilt of her dagger, almsot the same way as Temathil rested her hand on her Katana. So, it seemed they were thinking the same thing, she thought.
"what is your name?" she asked.
Liquid - February 8, 2006 02:30 PM (GMT)
Although Sanjuro too noticed the women playing with their knives he didn’t want to make anything of it. He assumed if things here went sour they probably would both stab him first before going after each other. Sanjuro had no intention of being killed by a woman and a centaur after just defeating a devilish drow. “My name is Sanjuro…” he simply said to the new mysterious woman. “So my friend here is obviously half horse, what kind of stipulation do you have?” He said to her doubting she was a human because of the great ease she had shown in hiding during the long encounter with the drow.
Mira - February 8, 2006 05:00 PM (GMT)
She shruged "Name?" She said yawing and scratching her head "I don't really have a name. I am what people call me, but I guess you could call me Mira." She yawned once again. "I should have stayed asleep. It looks like I'm stopping somthing important. Oh, and I do think that she's a centaur. Not many of them around these days, but I've had a few good encounters with them." She said pulling out whatever memories she could. Which was not many since she had only woken up a couple days ago. "So what did I miss while asleep?"
Temathil - February 8, 2006 09:20 PM (GMT)
"Not much." Temathil said.
She looked back at the man wondering why he was suddenly so quite. She guessed he was just nervous around women. It seemed even the ancient men are nervous around women. She looked back to Mira and said, "If you have no name, but people call you Mira, how do you not have a name?"
Mira - February 8, 2006 10:08 PM (GMT)
She looked at her with a tilted head. "Well...People don't really call me Mira. I usualy don't talk to others unless I really have to, and also...I really do have a name...I just can't remember it, or anything beyond waking up in some grasslands."
Quile - February 9, 2006 04:00 AM (GMT)
Quile the hawk came flapping down onto Temathils back, of her horse half. she shifted instantly into her human form, in a lounging postion on the centaur. she knew centaurs hated this, but she always got a kick out of it on her friend.
"Hello. My name is Quile." she said cheerfully, taking a quiick look at the half naked man in the water with a skull head. Seeing him half naked, imediatly put the risk of imminent dange rout of her mind.
"Whos your friends Temathil?"
Aslyn - February 19, 2006 05:22 AM (GMT)
Hearing the sound of other intelligent creatures, the half drow quietly snuck out of her hiding place in the bushes. Having no home, she was forced to rest here until she felt well enough to continue traveling, for what she did not know.
Feeling thirsty, she wanted to take a drink from the cool lake, but decided against it. Drinking made her vulnerable, and with strangers around, that would be foolish. She silently made her way closer to the group, examining them. Thanks to her assasin background, making noise was not a worry. As she grew closer, she saw the powerful weapons these travelers held. She was a relativley new adventurer, it was not wise to taunt such combat hardened people.
So, instead, she whispered out, letting the winds carry her voice to conceal her location.
"Who goes there?" She snarled.
Liquid - February 20, 2006 05:52 AM (GMT)
On his way out of the area Sanjuro spun around at the sound of the new comer’s voice. He peered at her thinking to himself, Oh great another woman… Not only did she appear to be a woman her features didn’t seem to be exactly human, Sanjuro tended to notice small things that stuck out like that. “I am Sanjuro… Who are you?” The half dead abomination responded to her.
Aslyn - February 20, 2006 05:19 PM (GMT)
The half drow noticed the man examining her, mostly at her skin and hair. Was he looking her over, or was he examining her for other purposes. She didn't have time to react because he suddenly said, "I am Sanjuro, who are you?".
She noticed that this man was dead, but alive. Did that make sense? She had heard stories of the dead walking. What were they called? Oh, yes...The undead. She seemed slightly connected with him, after all...The drow were not unfamilar with death.
She didn't tell him her name, but instead asked a question. "How is that you have been granted eternal life? Should I die tomorrow, what should I do to be granted eternal days?"
Temathil - February 22, 2006 05:03 PM (GMT)
Temathil felt something land on her back and turning saw her friend sitting there grinning.
"Whos your friends Temathil?" she asked.
"Get off my back and ill tell you. Im not a riding horse!" she said agitatedly. Quile knew she would respond like this, Temathil knew it.
She then heard the voice of a woman in the woods, looking up she saw the woman, but her features hit her fast, and she had a arrow knocked to her bow, trained on the woman within the blink of an eye, her legs spred wide to give her a stable platform. She learned Drow were fast and she wanted to be able to aim as best she could.
She heard the woman ask in a snarl, "Who goes there?"
The undead man responded first and then Temathil said fiercly, "You speak like that and you wont need to worry about who goes here. Youll have arrows in you before you could lift a foot drow."
Liquid - February 23, 2006 02:54 AM (GMT)
Sanjuro began shaking with anger after the mysterious woman asked him such a question. He had been cursed to walk the earth in a hundred different lives, for he had been denied man’s most right, the right to die. “Do you think this is some sort of gift?!” He asked the female drow in shock. “To live beyond one’s time of passing is the most foolish mistake one can ever make! If you died tomorrow I’d advise you to beg the Reaper to take your soul! Those who dodge his scythe will cry a thousand times for him to wait for them. However he will not stop for you if you refused to stop for him, and will forever laugh at your cries…” Sanjuro responded to her. “Now if I may be so bold… Your Name?”
Aslyn - February 23, 2006 05:24 PM (GMT)
Vendaria felt uneasy about the horse creature aiming a bow at her. However, when the centaur threatened her verbally, the half drow was furious. She knew she outnumbered but she didn't care. She had an idea, anyways. Placing her dagger on the ground, she spoke as she did so.
"I did not mean you any harm, nor did I mean to disrespect..." She said, nodding towards both as she spoke. She stepped closer to towards the spirit, trying to look and sound as friendly as possible. "I am Vendaria, half-drow from the human village Nym...." As she came within hitting range towards the centaur, she turned her turned her attention from the spirit and sent a flailing arm towards the side of the centuars face. Whether or not it would make contact was unsure, but Vendaria was prepared to dodge any counter attack...
Drate - February 25, 2006 02:27 PM (GMT)
Toal had been absentmindedly wandering untill he new where he was, there was people looking at a strange drow woman, of whom had a bow pointed at her. He stopped dead in his tracks, he had almost walked in amongst them. He was outnumbered but was mmore curious of why there was half a dozen people standing in one place and one with a bow on another.
In a strong almost defiant voice," Whats going on here! Well? Speak" his voice seemed to hold more power than a lowly peasent but that is all he was. He put his hand near his blade just to be ready but not to noticing as to be seen as a threat.
