Title: Looking for a training partner
Description: open to one person
Arwen - January 2, 2008 09:44 PM (GMT)
Arwen paced into the training grounds, tossing her head sharply as she did so. She snorted sharply, wondering if anyone would come. She wanted - no - needed a sparing partner. She needed a chance to practice in a real fight. She hadn't had a partner since she had left her herd so long ago.
Arwen pawed the ground sharply, tossing her head and trumpeting her call into the air. Then it occured to her it wasn't the smartest thing in the world to have done. NOW anyone could come...any real enemy, any one who would take training to the next level, a level that she didn't want. A fight to the death was not what she needed right now.

Ara might have never had the opportunity to meet such a wild beast.
She had decided to come today to practice with her black dagger, but the unicorn changed her plans. What was the majestic beast doing trampling on earth where races sparred? She supposed that a unicorn, like any other, could fight, though how done Ara couldn't tell, and she figured it was plausable. But quite different.
Ara surveyed the unicorn, wondering if it was worthy of her help. Perhaps not. Then again, she might get recognised as a steed trainer, and this would be profitible if she could star a buisness. The idea seemed to her advantage, so she walked further into the clearing where the beast could see her. She wondered briefly how she could communicate with it. Only few species other than those with two legs know common, or elfish. While wolfish was her best bet, the language might be alarming to it. She decided instead to wait until it spoke, and sat quietly on a nearby rock.

(wild beast?)
Arwen froze as she heard a foot step in the trees. She wasn't easy to take by suprise, concidering her ancestory, and added to by her feat of alertness. She watched the spot from which the elf stepped for a full moment before the elf stepped out. She continued to watch her as the elf sat down.
Arwen studied the elf for a long moment. "Are you up for a spar, Elf? I am Arwen, may I ask your name?" She said carefully in the common toungue. Her amethyst eyes never left the elven woman, even as she bowed toward her. She snorted,. showing her slightly more animalistic side.

The unicorn watched Ara carefully, speaking in common tongue, to which Ara wasn't too shocked. The unicorn bowed to her. Ara simply gave a small nod.
"Pardon, I am not seeing how it is possible to spar with a unicorn. If it is, I would be glad to." she said. She was always fairly kind to animals, especially those of burden. Arwen was probably bearing the burden of being thought as being just a dumb animal. Ara knew this wasn't true; no animals were dumb.

"What kind of weapon do you use?" Arwen asked very calmly. She was very still as she gazed toward the elf. Contemplating the problem in her mind. It would be so easy for one to slip, but done correctly it could be useful for both elf and unicorn...but only if they could do it right.
This would only work in the elf knew sword. That much Arwen knew. For if she used sword they could spar, horn verus sword, and that would be that. But then the next problem came in, how would they know it had ended, and who between them had won the spar? The questions that buzzed in her head had an answer, but it was one that neither the elf nor the unicorn were bound to like. First Blood. That would be simple enough, and irrefutable...but it was also very dangerous...if in going for first blood one of them slipped...well it could be all over.
