Title: The Caves are Creepy!
Description: When Spiders ATTACK!!

Star Dust - December 25, 2007 03:04 PM (GMT)
Stella had been walking for a while now. She wasn't sure what way she was even heading! Her wand was held high as the light from her 'spark' spell lit the way. Usually she would be smiling, as she was in a new place. But in truth... Stella was scared. The caves where damp, and she was sure that the spider webs where getting larger and larger...

She took in a deep breathe, and closed her eyes, stopping for a quick second. When she opened them, she had made a vow that she would NOT turn back. She would make it too the end. This was the shortcut to the Misty Forest was it not? She carried on walking, her feet slapping against the water, her eyes catching ever web. They WHERE getting bigger.

A Shiver ran down her spine, causing her to drop her wand. The only light now was coming from her, and as Stella was unhappy, the glow was not very bright. She knelt down, picking up her wand. Re-lighting the 'spark' spell, Stella pointed the wand ahead of her, right into the face of a spider larger then her.

Silence. Still... then... "ARR!" Stella screamed, taking a step back and falling over a stone. The spider advanced over her, its web creating a net around her. She couldn't move, couldn't reach her wand. She screamed one last time, the web coming over her mouth.

"HELP!"

Artemis the hunter - December 31, 2007 08:22 AM (GMT)
The Spider Caves were particularly dangerous at the minute, the spiders becoming more active and aggressive toward outsiders. Something needed to be done about it, before someone got hurt. It was her duty to nature to keep the balance and not let one thing dominate the area. So far she had only encountered a few little ones, but Artemis knew that to stop the problem, she would have to kill one of the queens. They were the ones at the heart of the problem, breeding too fast and creating a population boom. Soon the spiders would overrun the caves and would file out into the Misty Forest, potentially upsetting the ecosystem.

Artemis padded down the dank tunnel, her feet making little wet slapping noises as they hit the ground. A few little spiders crawled along the wall, keeping pace with her. Every noise echoed for miles down that dank tunnel. So when a scream for help was sounded the noise reflected and echoed and multiplied ten-fold in the tunnel, practically deafening her. Artemis took a moment to recover before setting off at a run in the direction that the sound had come from, drawing her bow and an arrow on the fly. She hoped she was not too late.

Just as Artemis rounded the corner she saw a horrifying sight. A spider, nearly twice her size was covering a girl in its web, preparing a tasty meal to bring back to its hive queen. The girl would be enveloped in a moment. Artemis knocked the arrow and let fly, aiming for the folds in the spider’s carapace. Her first arrow missed the target by millimeters, bouncing off the hard exoskeleton. The spider turned just as she let off another, and this time her aim was true. The arrow shot from the bow and in an instant buried itself in the soft hide of the creature, just below the neck. It let out an ear piercing scream and started to charge her, fore-legs raised and mandibles wild. Artemis let off another three arrows in quick succession, each one burying further still into the creature until, finally, it reared up onto its hind legs and fell back with an almighty ‘crunch’. Its legs flailed for a moment then folded in and lay still. Artemis ran to the girl, using an arrow head to cut the sticky fibers of the web.

“What in Loths name is a little girl like you dong in a place like this?” she asked.

Star Dust - December 31, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
The spider web was almost surrounded her, and Stella wiggled helplessly. The spider reared up to, intent on eating. She stared in open eyed fear, shaking inside the web prison. A slight whistle sounded as an arrow flew through the air, missing the beasts weak point by millimeters. Stella stared, her mouth covered, unable to gasp.

Another arrow flew, then another, and soon the best fell in a thud. Stella looked at it, fear and also admiration filling her. Averting her gave from the site, she watched as a girl approached her, ripping open her prison with a arrow. It slit through, releasing her so she fell on the floor. She hit with hardly a noise.

Stella fell to the floor gasping, looking up at her saviour. She smiled, still panting, her hand at her chest as she was on the floor in all fours. "I...was curious." She panted, then stood up, offering the girl her hand. "I thank you for saving me. What you doing in such a cave?" She asked.

Undead - December 31, 2007 11:59 PM (GMT)
Robyn looked at her two newest friends. She didn't have much of a choice on that point- they were crawling out of her eye sockets after all. It was a curious feeling, having little spiderkin on the inside of her head made her feel all... tingly. And when they made there way from her nose to her eyeballs she had almost laughed out loud- it almost tickled. But that was impossible- she couldn't possibly be ticklish... could she?

"Hello Thing One! Hello Thing Two!" She chirped happily. The two spiders twirled merrily as they dropped onto her cheeks, their trailing webs almost resembling tears. She opened her mouth and they crept back inside her body. Robyn smiled, her new friend-friends were so nice! She was glad she had brought them back to their home here in... this cavey-cave thingy.

They had even prepared a bed for her and everything! It was on the ceiling but still, she wasn't one to complain. It certainly was a fun-fun experience!

V.V.V.V.V

The Chef growled inside Robyn's mindscape. "She's trapped. By. Giant. SPIDERS. Why won't you people freaking wake UP?!"

Momma Bear was looking abominably thin as she cracked open an eye: "They're not eating her. I think we can chalk this up as a minor victory." The eye closed and she clearly went back to sleep.

Poppa Bear snorted. He was still comfortably comatose.

"TC..." The Chef whined. "Please..."

The Thinking Cap snorted. "We've dealt with rogue vampires requiring an undead child sacrifice, an ice dragon with a fetish for blondes *and* crazed, holy, paladin-esque elves. All in the past three days." He snorted and then also went back to bed.

The Chef sighed. When the Thinking Cap was like that it could mean only one thing.

"We're screwed." He whispered.

From up above, where Robyn was being kept, cocooned in a nice amount of spidersilk, a small stinkbug roamed and whittled and then finally found what it was looking for. With a rather stately push it kicked a small glob of jelly known as Ursula the Unfortunate from its perch on Robyn's head and sent it hurtling downwards towards two mortals...

Star Dust - January 1, 2008 02:30 AM (GMT)
Stella gasped as a somthing hit her head, and she looked up. There, attached to the ceiling was... Robyn!! She gasped, then reached over and took an arrow, and began the task of hacking at the spiders web. She cut the last strand and cought Ren-ren and put her on the floor.

"Reneh? You okay?!" She asked, then looked down. A strange... blob like thing was on the floor. She poked it, then giggled, poking it again. Such an interesting thing! She kept on poking it, then sighed. "Ooooh!! Whats this?!" She asked, now stroking the thing. She looked down at Renneh.

" Why where you on the ceiling?!" She demanded, eyeing the web above her, then shivered. She could hear the spiders scuttling, and the sound made her shudder. There where more... and they seemed attracted by their group. She removed her wand.

Artemis the hunter - January 2, 2008 12:12 PM (GMT)
Artemis didn't even have time to answer the girl's question before she was hit in the head with a strange blob-like creature. Artemis looked up in confusion, trying to find out where the strange thing had come from. Even before she had realized, the little girl grabbed one of her arrows and cut the blob-dropper free. Apparently the two knew each other. But why would a little girl be stuck to the roof of a cave? There was something not quite right here, but Artemis could not quite place her finger on it.

"Two little girls, one cave." observed Artemis, "This is a strange day indeed."

She looked to the girl, the one who had been stuck to the ceiling. She was young, but quite tall, with filthy blond hair and clothes in tatters. It was quite apparent that she had not been well looked after, as was the wont with children these days. The parents of Ea seemed to be doing a pretty shoddy job with their young, not caring for them as they should. The thought made Artemis angry, but she did not show that particular emotion before the two girls. She looked at the one who had been stuck to the ceiling, her curiosity overwhelming her manners.

"How long have you been up there little one? You look so pale and emaciated, do you need something to eat or drink?" she asked, “Do you need medical attention?”

Artemis was genuinely worried about the state of the girl, she looked near dead. If the girl was wounded Artemis would have a hard time of getting her out of the caves on her own. The smaller one didn’t look too sturdy, but one could never tell with children. She watched them both for the moment, waiting for an answer.

Undead - January 3, 2008 03:49 AM (GMT)
Crawling out from nowhere (actually it was from Robyn's conspicuously absent and empty tummy) Mr. Fluffington poked his head out from Robyn's rather dirty shirt that she always wore. The undead and patchwork cat meow-ed grumpily. Having been stuck in that stomach and unable to move or get out for... several hours now, had been boring, boring, boring! He was a cat for heaven's sakes! Even though he was a cat that tended to get cut apart and re-arranged and so forth he still had a sense of adventure (tempered by the regular need to escape his 'master') and a sense of pride (often tempered by brutal experiments that no man or beast should ever endure... diapers? Who the heck put diapers on their kitties?) that needed constant exercise and diligent work-outs.

In other words he wanted out! He unfortunately chose the wrong exit because he heard a familiar coo-ing sound and then was trapped! Powerful, monstrous fingers managed to catch him and then that familiar-

"Awwww, Mr. Fwuffington!"

Was heard and he yowled and tried his darndest to escape. Robyn was oblivious to the minor pokey cuts she got from his borrowed claws and merely clamped down all the tighter. If he had working lungs they would have, by now, have long asphyxiated. He yowled again at the two others who were here but they were stoopid, stoopid people and would probably not keel his stoopid master and try to save him. They looked like weak, stoopid people. Mr. Fluffington (darn that name!) wished he could have a proper master and a proper savior.

"That's Ursy-wursy!" Robyn said, answering Stella-Friend-Friend-Friend-Friend's question while fighting with her leetle kitty-kat. "Robyn-rin was..." at this point a paw managed to get into her mouth and she had to spit it back out, "was on the ceiling because thing one and thing two were visiting their family." She nodded emphatically as if that explained everything.

She turned to the... other friend-friend. Stella's friend-friend! Robyn wondered if the white birdey was here too, somewhere. Robyn hoped not. Lots of the spiders here ate birdies and she didn't want them to get too distracted.

"Robyn was up there for days and days and days!" She said proudly and with quite a bit of exaggeration. "But Robyn's strong!" She held out a bony arm and flexed her non-existent muscle. "Robyn doesn't need food! Food ish for the weak!"

"Unless eet's chocolate. Chocolate ish good." She had a dreamy expression on her face and it was perhaps for that reason that Mr. Fluffington managed to escape and ran off, seeming unable to choose between Stella and Artemis and then, seeing that they seemed to be on relatively good terms with his master, tried to run past the two of them.

Artemis the hunter - January 3, 2008 02:24 PM (GMT)
The girl was clearly quite mad, that was immediately apparent to Artemis. Either by some unfortunate event in her past or by her imprisonment in the spider caves for days this girl was stark raving loony. Days. Artemis could not imagine being held captive for that long. Quite how this girl was alive, she didn't know. Had she perhaps had supplies with her? Water? If so, how was it that she could drink, yet was not able to worm her way free of the cocoon? Surely she must have tried? This was pure madness.

It was then that the devil-zombie-cat appeared, jogging Artemis from her musings by jumping right out of the girls stomach! How was that possible? Had the girl summoned it, or was this some sort of evil magic? This could not be any ordinary girl. Trapped for days and still alive? Summoning cats from inside her? This girl and her demon cat could burn for all Artemis cared; all she wished for now was to be anywhere but there. This pair was an abomination to life itself. Only the dark god could have created something so twisted and unholy. And clearly the other little girl was in league with this demon-spawn, their greeting proved that. Which meant Artemis was now outnumbered. Never a predicament she wanted to find herself in, Artemis had to think quickly. She knocked an arrow and began to slowly step backward, her eyes never leaving the evil pair before her.

"Stay away." she whispered, "Return to your maker, creatures of evil. Try not your trickery on me, be gone!"

Ever so slowly Artemis paced backward down the tunnel. Cautious and wary, her undivided attention focused on the pair. But where had the cat gone? Hearing a noise behind her, Artemis whipped round to catch her would-be attacker. But what she saw when she turned was something much larger than the cat. And hairier. Something possessed of many more legs. For these caves were named The Spider Caves for a reason. A giant spider, easily six feet high stood there, blocking her only exit. Pure fear ran through Artemis’s veins as she looked upon it. But that fear was doubled when another joined it, this one even bigger than the last. She was in trouble.

Star Dust - January 5, 2008 01:04 AM (GMT)
Stella turned at the sound of the arrow being equipped, and her eyes followed her rescuer. The girl began to step away from them, her bow aimed at her and Rinny. Stella held out a hand towards her, her eyes brows knitting together in confusion. "Stay away, return to your maker" She commanded, and Stella frowned. Who was she talking too? Behind the girl, large shadows began to loom.

Giant spiders where right behind her, there noise signalling more. Stella gasped, then stood up shakily. The spiders ranged from extremely large, to the small ones which scuttled around her now. Stella began to shake, her fear of spiders reising. She stiffened, edging closer to Rinny to try get away from them, but the numbers of the tiny ones increased.

Stella took out her holy barbed staff, her breathe coming out slow and deep. She was afraid, but nothing could be done about that now could there? She held it in both hands, and put herself in a steady stance. A sound echoed behind her, and she turned to find spiders behind her too. They where stuck, and surrounded. She gulped. Yes, they would have to fight.

Undead - January 5, 2008 08:54 PM (GMT)
It all seemed to happen in slow motion. One moment the woman was harshly spitting: "Stay away, return to your maker!" and the next Mr. Fluffington was racing away towards his perceived freedom that was, in reality, doom. Cat paws hit the ground and despite his patchwork nature he still had all the natural feline graces. Then doom reared its ugly head. Robyn watched in a sort of startled fascination as a giant spider overturned a rock on the ground grabbed Mr. Fluffington in mid-leap and dragged him away into the darkness of the earth. Once he was gone and the stone replaced Robyn-rin finally came back to reality, as if surfacing from a dream.

Time resumed moving.

"NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH!! MEESTER FLUFFINGTON!!" Robyn roared. A jagged, awful looking dagger appeared in her hand, glinting in the cave's poor light. Another one appeared in her other hand though it was much harder to see. She held it awkwardly and then instinctively put it in her mouth, its point heading towards her left cheek. She looked vaguely feral as she raced forwards- and probably would have managed a rather spectacular attack if Ursula hadn't, at that precise moment, decided to appear right in front of her left foot. She hit the ground rather hard, the black dagger carving a hole in her cheek and the silver dagger flying away into the darkness where it apparently hit something rather large for there was a rustling noise and a hiss of what might have been pain.

Then a spider on the ceiling dropped onto Robyn's back and long, sharp fangs dug into her neck, poison seeking to paralyze.

Being dead, Robyn's flesh didn't quite react the way normal flesh would have instead of being paralyzed she spat the dagger out and ripped a chunk out of the spider with her injured mouth.

She took a moment to note the taste.

"Hmmm. A bit like cheeken." And then she was feeding.

Artemis the hunter - January 8, 2008 04:25 PM (GMT)
She never had a chance. As Artemis backed further up the tunnel the spiders had seized the opportunity for an easy kill and pounced upon her. A set of mandibles entered her side, puncturing the flesh and driving against her ribs, knocking the wind out of her. She cried out in pain and rage as they sunk in, slipping between the bones and constricting her lungs. The other spider took its chance and dug its own into her lower leg, forcing its fangs deep into the meat. Artemis collapsed to her knees, the pain assaulting her senses like a physical blow. She could feel the venom begin to enter her, coursing round her veins on its way to the heart and the brain. She began to feel drowsy, her vision fogging and limbs feeling as if they were leaden.

"Fly you fools." she breathed, looking at the two girls.

Smaller spiders crept forward onto her, now taking their own bites of her as she fell forwards onto her face, helpless. The venom had worked quickly, she found herself unable to move as those terrible fangs punctured her over and over, the pain reaching an almost unbearable level. Her breathing became quick and shallow, her lungs desperately working trying to take much air as they could. As she lay there Artemis thought back to all of the different ways that she could have been killed over the years and found that she had never really factored ‘eaten by spiders’ into it. It was an odd way to go, but she figured that it could have been worse. It was lucky for her that the venom was blocking out most of the pain, some did not have that luxury.

It was Artemis’s darkest hour when all hope had left her, laying here in the dark, unable to move, unable to see. She lay, and waited for the end.

Star Dust - January 8, 2008 07:13 PM (GMT)
Stella watched horrified at the sight, as the huntress was impaled and bitten, the strong venom fast acting. Rinny seemed to intent on focusing on her cat - who had made a run for it. Stella grabbed her Barbed staff - and using its great Combat Spell casting trait, began hurling her spells at the beasts.

"SHOOTING STARS!" Her hand raised, and a star shot out, striking the main spider, right on top of the huntress. Stella then turned around, aiming her staff at the spiders advancing behind her. She couldn't use her shooting stars spell, as they where in too much of a small space. There was only one way to do this.

She dragged on her winters embrace, watching a mist clouded around her. She pointed her staff at the spiders; "FREEZE!" she yelled, and they froze instantly. But she couldn't keep this up. More climbed over the frozen ones, and Stella dropped onto one knee, her mana completely drained, and a slight sheen of sweat covering her forehead. She was tired.

She hadn't enough strength to raise her staff again, and she looked up at Rinny - pleading the girl to help. With the last of her energy, Stella aimed another shooting star at a particulary large spider, sending it reeling, then falling dead on the ground. She panted, then struggled to her feet.

Undead - January 8, 2008 08:05 PM (GMT)
OOC: Personally I suggest that the spiders tie us all up. Me and Stella's got ways out, Artsy's got to bear with it for now. =P

IC:

The spiders weren't big enough to truly damage Robyn. It was their venom that was truly dangerous and being more or less immune Robyn shrugged off myraid of stings and started noticing something: spider eyes -especially big, fat spider eyes- tasted really good. She hadn't noticed the first time because she had been so very nice-nice to all these spiderz but now they were being mean she was going to turn all of them into treatsies! Grah! Her hands and mouth working methodically she started to pluck eyes off spiders at a rate which would have astonished anyone had they known about Ursula and not the spider density.

For the spiders were swarming over her, apparently unconcerned about their twitching brethren that littered the ground. Even as Stella mouthed various spells Robyn was having a fairly good buffet meal but being so subtly attacked that she had barely even noticed it- the spiders were doing what they did best- securing her with long, strong, sticky filament. Spidersilk, spiderweb, it had many different names but in this unprocessed form it was just as deadly to the small undead girl as venom would have been to the living ones. Soon she couldn't even move her feet despite all her attempts and when she toppled over still didn't understand what was going on.

"Good- ack!" She said, deadly dark dagger still stuck in her mouth, as the final spider tipped her over, enough sheer weight sending the poor dead girl hurtling towards the ground. What the? Within moments they had neutralized her arms and then started quickly stringing her up. With the second deadliest opponent out of the way they could concentrate on the other one.

Star Dust - January 8, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
Stella was getting weaker. A glance sideways, and Stella saw Robyn strung up with the silky veils of web. She gulped. Stella didn't have hardly any energy left... but she had to try to get them all out! She raised her staff above her head, and was about to bring it back down to pummel a spider when a sharp pain jabbed her leg. She fell, dropped the barbed staff. What the...

Another fang impaled her, the hot venom flooding through her veins, the stuff causing her limbs to turn weak and numb. Before long she could no longer even kneel, and she fell to the ground, hitting her head. The blow didn't knock her out - but the venom did. The spiders web covered her like a thick blanket, obscuring her movement - of she was making any. She was stung onto the ceiling where she had first found Rinny, like an egg, just her head popping out, her long shimmery blond hair falling down over her head, her eyes closed and pink.

She went paler then she had ever been, and her heart beat slowed - almost as if she was dead herself. Her breathing was shallow, unheard, her pulse like tiny pulses. To anyone who looked she appeared dead, but she wasn't. There she layed, strung up - about to become spider dinner.

Ayaker_Buceg - January 8, 2008 09:51 PM (GMT)
Ayaker had journeyed through the Misty forest earlier that morning. He was trying to get back to Lomedor, ending his latest adventure. The only problem was that this mountain range was very tall and very wide, and Ayaker wasn't feeling so good that he felt he could fly around or over the overwhelming mountains. Thankfully he had managed to find a local who told him about a cave that led through the mountains.

Two hours later he found himself traveling through the dank cave. He felt a cold feeling creeping through his usually hot veins. It was fear, and maybe more. He was in his true form, not anticipating running in to anyone. He blew fire out of his mouth every few seconds to see his surroundings clearly in the dark. He noticed the cave was full of tiny spiders, and though it made him uncomfortable, he felt that there was something far worse lurking in this cave.

Once, when he blew a bit of fire, he thought he saw a massive shape retreating behind a wall, and he increased his pace. He knew he had a long way to go yet. He pulled his dagger out of his scabbard and held it out in front of him now, clearing his head so he would be ready to react in a second.

Suddenly, he heard something, it sounded like voices screaming. His eyes widened, and he broke in to a run, forgetting his fear completely in the adrenalyine rush. He turned a winding corridor, and then he saw it. Three bodies, two of them seemed of smaller humans, and one was tall and slender like an elf. The humans were completely wrapped in thick webs, and the elven woman was completely paralysed it seems.

Even worse then this, there were about three huge hulking spiders. They were bigger then even the biggest dog he had ever seen. He didn't know what to do, he couldn't leave them here. "What to do...." he muttered. Suddenly the spiders, hearing him, rounded and began moving towards him. He he had no choice now, he would have to fight.

Ayaker inhaled as deeply as he could, and exhaled a great fiery stream at he spiders. He grinned triumphantly, surely the spiders couldn't survive that. "Wait a minute..." he said. THe spiders were still moving towards him, apparently his flaming breath had done little to harm them. "They must have really tough hides." he said to himself. He noticed they had been burnt a little on small lines throughout their bodies. Of course! It was their exoskeletons! His flame was too spread out to effectively kill them. He would have to use his dagger to stab in to their innards. He braced himself, his dagger in his hand, and his legs outstretched, waiting for an oppurtunity to strike.

Artemis the hunter - January 9, 2008 07:33 PM (GMT)
The pain was excruciating. Sever sets of mandibles pierced her flesh over and over leaving perfectly circular puncture marks in their wake. Artemis was helpless, weak and paralyzed by the venom she could do nothing as the spider went about their task. She was pinned to the floor, ropes of the spider’s web covering her entirely. Had Artemis been able to breathe properly the web would have crushed her chest. Her face was pressed into the dank earth of tunnel floor, a small pool of stagnant water coolly caressing her forehead. She supposed that it was that exact feeling keeping her awake, the sensation at odds with the message of the venom that was now so vigorously telling her to sleep.

It seemed to Artemis that all was lost. She lay there with blood pooling on the ground by her shoulder, dripping from the bite. She thought to herself that it was a rather undignified way to go, being eaten alive. She cursed her own impetuous, had she not rushed to save the devil-girl she would not been in her current predicament. She cursed both the girls and swore revenge, if she were ever to get free. In all honesty, it seemed very unlikely.

But she could hear footsteps. A hope, a light in all the darkness. Her vision may have been obscured, but her hearing was unaffected. Perhaps this new arrival might save her, save them all? She could only hope, praying to the gods that the new arrival would not be eaten or worse. She did not wish her own fate on anyone, let alone some innocent bystander. Why oh why had she gotten involved in the first place?

Artemis tried to call out, to warn the person and let them know of her current predicament, but she could not even manage a mumble. If the stranger did not act soon, it seemed that there would not be much of her to rescue.

Ayaker_Buceg - January 9, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
Ayaker took a split second to look at the people at his feet, making sure they didn't get hurt any worse in the fight. A spider came running straight at him, it's fangs twitching as it ran. Another spider was coming from the side, and the third seemed to be guarding their already wrapped prey.

Ayaker held out the tip of his blade, and just as the spider was about to bite him, he thrust his knife deep in to the spider's eye, causing it to emite a horrible screeching sound as gelatinous goo sprayed out of it. He pushed his foot in to the spider's face and kicked off of it, doing a backflip and narrowly avoiding the impact of the other spider. The two spiders who came at him ended up crashing in to each other, and their fangs pierced each other's exoskeleton lightly.

Ayaker straightened his stance, preparing for the next attack. The spider who's eye had been pierced charged at him, seemingly in some sort of revenge. It's path was rather crooked though, since it only had half of its vision. Ayaker jumped on to the spider and in a fluid movement cut his knife through the spider's fangs, first left then right. He picked up the fangs and tossed them to the side, hoping he could use them to make some sort of antidote. The spider shrieked and gave a jerk, knocking Ayaker in to a wall.

He stumbled to his feet. This was turning out to be an intense fight. The third spider was off by the bodies, still standing there, it was as if it didn't want to fight uness it had to. "Nah..." Ayaker said. "He just wants to protect the victims so they don't escape." The spider without fangs rammed itself in to Ayaker, it's exosketon causing a shocking pain in his stomach. He grunted and shoved his dagger inbetween the spider's eyes with all the force he could muster. He felt a crunch and then a sickening squishy feeling... It wasn't like stabbing a human. These spiders were just skeleton and innards, it was kind of gross.

The spider flailed and screamed, and then fell limp, Ayaker withdrew his dagger from the spider's head. He pushed on the spider's body, but it was rather hard to move being so heavy. The body seemed to have him pinned against the wall. As if this wasn't bad enough, the brother spider jumped on top of it's comrades corpse and attempted to sink it's fangs in to Ayaker's flesh. He managed to grab ahold of one fang by the stem, but the other one sliced in to his dagger arm.

Ayaker shouted as a red hot feeling began to pour through his veins, and he reacted quick and let go of the other fang. He blew fire in the face of the spider to startle it and blind it and then cut the fang off that had pierced his arm.

He hadn't gotten much venom in him, but it was enough to slow him down if he didn't hurry. He blew fire in the face of the spider again, causing it to jump back from constant pressure, and then he struggled with all his might until he was able to get free. He was able to twist to the side and pull his feet out, and managed to somersault out of the way. He stood up and braced himself for the spider's next attack.

(Forgive me, I sort of feel like this post is bad but I'm not quite sure how to fix it.)

Star Dust - January 22, 2008 05:24 PM (GMT)
Stella watched on from the ceiling of the cave, amazed as she on at the battle. The venom caused her sight to blur, but she was beginning to get used to it. Shuffling around, she struggled to get loose from the small cocoon, her body squirming, trying to break free of the sticky threads. But it was useless. She was stuck until freed, and her hope was now laying in this young man.

Her eyesight slowly got better as the poison was washed out of her system, and slowly Stella was able to see the fight clearly. She recognized the boy as one who had rescued her in the falls, and smiled with delight. Aya held a dagger, swinging it in the spiders face's, causing them to squeal and jump back. But she doubted is a dagger would be enough to fend off these demons. "Nah... He just wants to protect the victims so they don't escape." Aya, seeming to talk to himself as he stabbed one of the spiders in the head.

Stella watched on, awe stuck as it appeared he had the advantage, then as he was pierced with the venomous fang. He cried out, and blew fire in the face of an on coming spider, bracing himself for the next attack. But he was injured, and Stella knew for a fact that he wouldn't be able to win this alone.

"AYA!!" She screamed, wriggling trying to get his attention. "CUT ME DOWN! I'LL HELP!!" She get struggling, but knew it was useless.

OOC: Your post rocked Aya! Damn mine sucks LOL!!

"They're not being very nice." Robyn noted from the ceiling of the cave. Indeed two or three spiders seemed to be regarding her hungrily even as they watched the intruder breathe flame- apparently they were scared of fires. Webs burned brightly after all and as inherently combustible material a few errant strands of flame and pitch and tar could smoke out the entire cave and kill everything in it. Down would come both the cradle and home of these giant spiders and that was something that could not be allowed for this more-or-less hive-minded clan. Thus it was with trepidation and caution that the spiders acknowledged this new threat. Most seemed content to let it be, allowing one of the elders to angle it back towards the cave entrance before they could either subdue or remove the threat by means of another mass attack.

The dead did not fear fire though. Robyn ignored the flames and the mortal creating them in favor of examining the spiders. She hadn't really noticed before (being far more happy in being able to imagine her own spiders growing as big as the ones here) but they were all sorts of different colors. Some were dark purple and others pitch black. Quite a few were a soft, golden-brown color that irked her. It was that selfsame color that had stolen away Mr. Fluffington.

Mr. Fluffington! Her cat needed her! And Robyn-rin needed her cat! In her musings she had almost forgot about the most important thing! If Robyn-rin could have brought her hand to her lips in horror she would have... but being caught and stuck as she was it seemed like a rather unlikely course of action. She decided to content herself with merely making an 'o' of horror with her lips... and then spat out thing one and thing two onto her webbed chest.

"Chop chop." She said cheerfully. "Now get ta work!"
