Each major city has their own coinage, but all the main coins have been standardized into one weight and value. A standard coin weighs 8.5 grams and is composed of 10 karat gold (41.7% gold). Other units of currency, like the 4 silver coins of Lómëdor that make 1 Gold Crown, are very individualized for each city.
