Title: The Return

Dispater - December 22, 2007 12:25 PM (GMT)
Finally Dispater felt the need to return to the Ungol Felas for the first time since he was changed by the taint of the Demonweb Pits. He still didn’t recall exactly what went on there and how did he end up captured by the demons of the Pits, but at least he managed to clear his mind and through many hours of pondering to accept his condition. He didn’t have what to do against it, and as a matter of fact he even enjoyed this major change in his life, even if he was governed by a third essence he felt more free than before. He developed a strange affinity to spiders and unlike many other creatures belonging to whatever race he didn’t find those giant insects a grotesque sight to behold. He even thought that he had a lot to learn from the spiders, and it did so lately, he studied their agility and grace hoping that one day he will become as agile and as cunning to make the enemies fall into his own web, a trap from which it would be impossible to escape, theoretically. He also had to implement the usage of poison in his attacks, meaning to learn how to coat his weapon with deadly poison, he was turning to be more like an assassin or a rogue than the front line fighter he once used to be. Well, people change, and of all the concordant killers were the most exposed to changes because of the permanent contradictions going on in their mind and soul.

And there he was, traveling back to the Ungol Felas, the very place of his return to Arda, wrapped in a silky, spider web cocoon. The feeling of entrapment into such a substance was not a pleasant one, but thanks to a human traveler he was freed. He was still in debt to that man, one time in his life he will have to return the service, but no one knew how far or how close that day was, or if it will even come. His mind was soon taken over by another manner of thoughts, he wondered how the spiders would react to his presence now, would they attack him, or still regard him as one of their own?
There was only one way to find out, and it was showing before him, the dark entrance to the caves. He could almost hear the sound of the spiders as they moved about the walls of the cave, some of them were reinforcing their web, and others were just feasting on their prey, drinking any liquid they contained.

A flow of feelings suddenly rushed through Dispater, it felt like he wasn’t just Dispater, but all the spiders in the caves, he could see through the eyes of all the spiders, sense their presence and the exact location, each seemed to be connected to his mind in a strange manner, even if it was just partially true. He belonged to the colony somewhat, and in turn, the spiders felt his approach.

Soon, he would walk through the entrance of the caves, and glance from side to side at all the spiders located there, the link which he shared with them intensified from the last time he has been there, it was an amazing feeling, and nowhere else he felt more welcome than here. He could call this place a ‘home’ without any doubt. The spiders were not aggressive towards him, and they allowed him in as one of their own. He would remain for awhile around, it was the perfect place to study the spiders.
