Title: Such strange little people ?!?
Description: [P] Crazed Psycho, Ralph

Crazed Psycho - December 17, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
As the days and weeks passed Alexa found herself with nothing to do and no one to speak to except the voices in her head. But those conversations normally lead to arguments and she simply hated to get into arguments with herself. In the stillness of the night she had flown quite a ways away from the mountains, not really paying too much attention to where she was going either. As the sun rose high in the sky above her she once again found herself above Salquedor Grasslands. She had not come to these parts of the land in quite a few years.

As she continued to fly north east across the fields she could see Taurai Woods off in the distance. Though what would be a comfortable breeze on the ground was much stronger in the skies above it as another strong gust of wind howled by as she attempted to stay in the air.

It was still not yet noon so the air was a bit chilly, but not really enough to bother her. None the less she was growing tired of flying all night so she began looking for a place in which she might rest. Only a little ways off was a large group of hills, they didn't seem quite right. Well it's better then other places she thought as she began her decent. As soon as she did however she began to wish she could stay in the air much longer. As soon as she landed she knew the voices would return to once again bother her. The only times she felt completely sane was when she was flying.

Landing upon the soft grass of the fields she looked ahead to what she had seen as simple hills. She was a little shocked to see that they were not however, but looked like some sort of odd dwellings. She had no idea however what would fit in these places for they seemed much too small for an average person. burn it! Burn it! Burn it! she heard in her head as she stood there. Perhaps she would, but at the moment she was a bit more curious about the place and what lived here . With that she began to head in the direction of the hills she had seen from the skies.

The young hobbit, who would barely be considered an adult, waved farewell to his friend. He left the hobbit hole, and looked up into the bright sky. He didn't come here often anymore, most of his time spent traveling. Very unhobbit like. He didn't care though, and his friends didn't mind much either. The grass was warm under his feet and a light breeze lifted his hair. The weather was so pleasant it almost made Ralph regret choosing this line of work, almost. He was an odd hobbit, an outcast of typical hobbit life. He was a mercenary, but a vigilante though. He turned, aiming to set off on the long journey once again.

He had made but only two steps along the worn pathways, when something caught his eye. A rather tall figure, at least for a hobbit, was only a slight distance away. Wings were also another apparent feature, something that caught the hobbit's attention. Hobbits were short and had hairy feet, no wings. Wings were unusual, he had only ever seen them on dragons. That meant either this person had them out of some sort of magic or... they are an angel or demon. He shuddered, demons were frightening. He had fought one, and nearly ended up dead because of it.

"Um, hello!?" he tensed, his grip tightening on his halberd. He crept slowly, the breeze ruffling his shirt. "Friend or foe?" He knew he was just as likely to not be told, or to be told a lie, as he was to get a truthful answer. However, it never hurt to try. He watched her cautiously, tempted to retreat from the unusual being.

With the gentle breeze to her back she approached her destination. As she neared the hill she could see them in more detail. They were like little huts, but instead of being built on the ground there were carved into the hilltops. Each a little different then another most and small round doors. It was much more primitive then a city such as lomedor, but not in a bad way. At least a place such as this managed to keep clean.

Ahead of her was a small worn path that lead between the hills. As she walked along it she noticed that though some had yards others didn't. Some even had little picket fences and small gardens. Though since it was still morning he did not see many out and about. Burn it! Burn it all to the ground and kill all that us alive she heard within her mind. By now however she was becoming a bit annoyed with the voice, so much in fact that she lashed out at it, "Shut up! Shut up! I'll do what I want not what you want, understand!

This didn't do much to lessen the voices but it made her fell a bit better about it. Looking ahead however she at last saw another being. A closer look however showed it to only be a child, with a halberd. Then as if on que the little being spoke, "Um, hello!? Friend or foe?" it asked.

Alexa tilted her head a bit to the side as she thought about things. It appeared to be a small child, but it's feet were a mess. Did this child even have a mother. Letting out a crazed, high pitched maniacal Laugh it took a few moments for her to calm down once more. "What dose it matter to you little boy, now run along to your mother before you hurt yourself with that thing."

"What dose it matter to you little boy, now run along to your mother before you hurt yourself with that thing." she had said. Ralph's usually happy face flushed with anger at the woman's statement. "I am no child!" he gripped his halberd with a sudden strength that spoke volumes of skill with it. He took a few angered steps forward, the breeze seeming to almost turn to a violent state in tune with the hobbit's feelings.

He twirled his halberd over his head, as it would be a little difficult to do it any other way. Stopping it and gripping it in an aggressive stance. Perhaps she would realize that he was no simple child.

Crazed Psycho - December 17, 2007 02:06 AM (GMT)
As her words came out another gust of wind howled by. It was a little strange whoever as the wind had come from the opposite direction as it should have. It seemed that she had angered the little child. As the little boys face filled with what she could only assume was anger. "I am no child!" he stated.

As she stood there the boy griped his weapon more firmly as he took a few steps toward her. Did he really think this is a fight he could win? she though as a small smirk crossed her face. She was about to speak again when he began to twirl his halberd over his head. He soon stopped, which he then returned it to an aggressive stance.

She held her hands to the sky as if she was giving up to his skill, but could not hold back a wave of giggles. As they continued it suddenly stopped faster then most would think possible. As quick as lightning she reached for her long sword and smacked the little mans halberd to the side with it. "Do you have any idea what your getting yourself into, BOY?" she stated.

As she stood there waiting for a response them the little guy the voices in her head continued to speak. Kill him! Kill him! Cut his throat, impale his little body and cut off his furry feet to hang on your wall. Though she did not agree with everything that was being said she was hoping to provoke the little boy into a fight. Though perhaps not a fair fight, she was looking to teach him a thing or two about messing with their elders. After all she was a good three feet taller then the boy and she had never heard of an adult being that size, expect for a dwarf perhaps. Are you some sort of Dwarf?" she asked.

Ralph - December 17, 2007 02:17 AM (GMT)
"I'm a hobbit!" He growled in irritation, stepping back to proper halberd using distance. He shifted his weight from foot to foot, grass and leaves crunching under his feet. He gripped his halberd firmly, spear pointed towards her should she attack. He narrowed his gaze, focusing on her.

By now the shouts had spurred some other hobbit's attention and they slowly made for their doors, not coming out just yet. Instead they listened quietly at their doors. The angered hobbit moved slightly to the left, then to the right. Firm, but light on his feet.

Crazed Psycho - December 17, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)
If anything her comments were only getting the little guy even more angered. "I'm a hobbit!" it growled in irritation. Alexa has never before heard of a hobbit, and still couldn't quite wrap her mind around what one was. The hobbit was beginning to fidget as well as she heard the leaves crunch under it's bare feet. He seemed to be shifted his weight and moving around a bit. Perhaps it was waiting for her to make a move, but she couldn't be sure.

With long sword in her left hand, she reached up with her right to place the tip of her finger upon the blade of the halberd. Then as she began to circle the small hobbit she guided the halberd along with her as she did.

Removing her hand from the hobbits weapon she once again slapped it with her long sword. "Be serious kid, what do you possible think you could do against me, a fallen celestial!" she stated this time keeping her sword up in position. The voices in her head continued to spit out random words of death and destruction but she did her best to ignore them at the moment. "So tell me, what is a hobbit?" she asked as she looked around.

All around her she could see the beginnings of movement. It would appear that their meeting had drawn the attention of others like him, other hobbits. She was even more shocked to see that all of the others were of about the same height as the one before him and all had the same furry feet. The look upon her face turned from that of amusement to that of disgust. "What have stumbled upon, a land of misfit children?!" she grumbled.

Ralph - December 17, 2007 12:19 PM (GMT)
The hobbits who saw this display were frozen with a mix of disgust and horror. However, those who have actualy had some form of combat experince began taking action. The withrdrew into their homes, returning with an assortment of weapons. Yet none attacked, they simply waited.

"Hobbits, half-lings, thats what we are. Short to you, small to you, but we are determined." He paced about again, firming his grip so as not to be simply swatted away. He would swat back.

(Sorry about the length/spelling, I'm in a rush.)

Crazed Psycho - December 18, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
It looked like her idea to anger the little hobbit was working just as she had planed, and her comments about the hobbits size and age had helped to do that. She hadn't expected all the others to stick there noses where they didn't belong however. Not that it mattered too much, weather it was one or a small group she wouldn't back off.

She continued to glance around at the other hobbits while the one in front of her spoke. ""Hobbits, half-lings, thats what we are. Short to you, small to you, but we are determined." he spat at her as he once again continued to pace around. After his statement she noticed that all the other hobbits rushed back into their little homes, only to come back out soon after with an assortment of house supplies she guessed they were going to try and use as weapons.

This brought about another small fit of giggles, but soon after she began to become a bit faint and dizzy. Everything began to swirl around her and she heard the hobbit's voice again, "Your a loser, your not good for anything, why don't you go crawl back under the rock you came from in the mountains, you pathetic winged freak!"

She couldn't believe what she heard. She could see the fear in each of their eyes and then he goes and insults her. He must be trying to anger me the same way I was with him she thought as at last everything stopped spinning. "You dare insult me, you'll die for those words you so strongly choose" she shouted as a wild grin crossed her face. Now was the time to attack.

She jumped into the air her wings stretching to their full width as she took to the air, if only for a second. Landing behind the small hobbit she whipped around quickly and brought her long sword swinging down in an attempt to cleave him in half.

(Just thought I should say that the second statement i've got your character saying is just an Auditory Hallucination. So don't worry i'm not putting words in your mouth. At least not really.) :xmastongue:

Ralph - December 18, 2007 03:11 AM (GMT)
Ralph jumped in surprise, he had never met someone with such foul temperament. All he had said was that he was a proud hobbit. If she was irritated at that then, Ralph quickly thought, she must be racist! Ralph flared with anger and countered her strike, her blade impacting on his weapon's shaft.

He jumped up bringing his halberd down vertical, as though to split her down her center. But he veered off the trajectory slightly and aimed more for the top of her shoulder. He intended to cleave the arm off. The other hobbits watched in fear, repulsion, interest, and the few warriors watched with pride (But not without careful eyes on the tide of battle).

Crazed Psycho - December 18, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
As her attack was about to strike she saw a quick and sudden movement come from the hobbit. For a brief moment he saw the hobbits face again. It looked like he was even more angered then she had anticipated. She wasn't sure what she had said for him to reach this state of anger and she cared even less. At last the two would fight, and she expected to come out of it better then he did.

Being small in this case was a slight disadvantage, with much smaller limbs his reach was not as long as her own. He seemed to be trying to make up for it with a longer weapon but the disadvantaged would still be there whether he wished it or not. But with him being so small most of her attacks would have to aimed downward where the hobbit would have to direct his attacks upward if he wanted to hit anything but he bottom half.

When her attack was countered it cut into the shaft of the weapon. Pulling it back she then prepared for the counter attack she knew would come one way or another. But she made a point to keep an eye on all the other hobbit's around. She knew at some point they would most likely all come at her. In each of their eyes she could see fear but she could also see that each an everyone wanted to come after her. All she had to do to prevent that was to show that she was not one to be toyed with.

At last the counter attack came. The blade of the weapon was coming down upon her, and due to the hobbit's height issue it would take much less time for the attack to land. She reacted quickly, jumping up only slightly she mushed off the hobbit with her feet to push herself out of reach of the weapon. It didn't work how she had wanted to however as the tip of the blade cut into her shoulder. As she landed she looked to her shoulder. The wound wasn't much to complain about, in fact it wouldn't even be there much longer as the dark magic began to flow through her. Her dark regeneration spell had already sealed the wound. She had expected something much like this so she had prepared the spell before hand.

"Come on little man, lets see what color you bleed! she stated as she waved her hand to signal him to come forward and attack.

Ralph - December 18, 2007 12:15 PM (GMT)
Ralph huffed in anger, but tried his best to keep level headed. She was just trying to provoke him, yes, trying to make him do somethign stupid. She had already made him agressive like he was, but no reason to run straight into that sword. He shifted his stance to a more defensive one, leaves once more crunching under his feet. He watched without words. The little hobbit finally moved, stabbing with the spear untill he was at the point in which he could smash with the weighted blunt side.

(Yeah, not much time to post in the mornings but I manage)

(Let me guess school right?)

As Alexa continued to toy with the hobbit she realized he wasn't acting or behaving in the way she would have expected. She had expected that he would have made a slight mistake by now due to that anger. It seemed that he had figured out her plan. If he knew of her plan to anger him it would be pointless to continue on in this way. She needed to try and come up with a different plan.

She continued to watch to see what the little hobbits next move would be. She had tried to draw him in so that he would attack but he was being incorporative. She would have to make the next move. As she thought this however she noticed another sudden movement. It seemed he was making the next move after all. With a jabbing motion it looked like he was making use of the blunt side of the weapon. Though she was in no danger of being sliced open but if enough strength was put into the struck it could possibly break or fracture a bone, and that was the last thing she wanted to have to deal with. Reacting as quickly as possible she jumped over the attack and landed gracefully upon the shaft of the out stretched weapon.

She knew however she would not be able to stand upon it long. He would pull it back or move it in some way to try and get her off. Before he had the chance to do something like that she jumped once more. This time landing upon one of the little hobbit homes she looked down upon the hobbits's. Already they were beginning to bore her. And she wasn't one to stick around when things turned down hill like that. "Well my little hobbit friend, you are beginning to bore me, so I'll take my leave. But remember this I'll return, and when I do this whole place shall burn to the ground."

With that she once again took to the air and after hovering above the area for a moment she took off once more heading torward the city of Lomedor.

(Ok well it's been fun, we'll have to do it again after a while. Perhaps when both of us have improved.)

Ralph - December 19, 2007 12:23 AM (GMT)
Ralph stared up at her, with determination and a little hobbit pride. He had 'won' the confrontation but it just didn't seem like it should. She was leaving yes, she forfeited yes, but lost? No, not at all. He tensed as she spoke of how she would burn the homes, he wouldn't let that happen. He wouldn't let that happen as long as he lived. "Over my dead body," He gazed up at her as she took off, determined to beat her.

(Bah, I'm bad with sum up posts. But yes, school is the problem, and I hope to rp again!)
