Title: Unusual discovery
Description: Open
Tracyn - December 2, 2007 10:29 PM (GMT)
Tracyn walked along the side of the lake, staring at his hands. "How could I..." He shuddered remembering how ruthlessly he had killed the man, his screams of pain and agony. "No, he got what he deserved," He knew to think about it further would be just an invitation for all sorts of bad things.
He Shook his head and continued to walk. It was a beautiful day, and the lake was gleaming peacefully. No reason to think about death today. He chucked a pebble into the water, watching it skip across the surface. Perhaps he should have been mourning his sister, but he had prepared himself for the news and had already mourned till no more tears would come. He sighed looking around himself.
Star Dust - December 3, 2007 12:42 AM (GMT)
Stella skipped ahead of the breeze, feeling the way it passed over her. Her hair blew around her and the feeling was nothing like she had ever felt. The body was amazing. It was the first time she's had a body of her own. She had in fact spent her life as a star, brilliant and bright. She missed those days, but she knew she could never go back.
Staring around across the lake, she smiled. Never had she seen a lake so clear, so smooth, its surface reflecting the sky like a mirror. It was like they joined up, and the effect was indescribable. Stella had never before seen anything like this. Clasping the necklace that shone brightly under her cestral dress, Stella sighed. The necklace was constantly warm, and it was always heavy... but she could not take it off. To do so would turn her into something horrible, a shadow of her former self.
Shaking her head she resisted the urge and removed her hand from around it. The days where she could roam around here over. Right now... She needed a purpose. Rising her gaze from the brilliant lake in front of her, Stella noticed a man, and she was immediately nervous. It would be the first encounter she would have, and she had to make sure he was not one of those people who killed and asked questions later.
Inhaling the clean chilled air, Stella carried on in her path, slowly heading towards the man, her head held high and her expression certain, her golden hair blowing in the slight breeze.
Tracyn - December 3, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
Tracyn scratched the back of his head, looking about. He noticed someone off to the distance. "Huh?" He turned around, watching her approach. He crossed his arms, wondering what she wanted. Not that he didn't mind company, it was just unexpected. He turned his gaze back to the lake for a moment, its gleaming surface reflecting the light that bounced on it. He smiled and looked back to Stella.
Star Dust - December 3, 2007 01:02 AM (GMT)
Stella began to blush slightly as she approached the man. She wasn't sure how her form looked to others, and so was rather self conscious. Her blue eyes where bright as she stopped in front of him, and her cheeks flushed slightly.
"Hello!" She spoke to him, her voice quiet. Then she smiled. "My name is Stella. What's yours?" She wasn't sure if it was considered rude to walk up to people and ask their names, but Stella was eager to make friends. Brushing hair hair back from her shoulders, she made sure her necklace was tucked away.
Tracyn - December 3, 2007 01:10 AM (GMT)
Tracyn paused, stunned by her suddenness but he recovered. "Uh, hello. My name is Tracyn," He smiled offering his hand. "Nice to meet you," He stuffed his other hand into his pocket, rocking back and forth casually. She had an odd 'sparkle' about her, 'wonder what thats about' he pondered. Tracyn hummed quietly his thoughts beginning to drift.
Star Dust - December 3, 2007 01:25 AM (GMT)
Stella stared at his hand, the remembered the Communion she had witnessed earlier. Taking his hand, she shook it gently, then grinning at him. This was a meeting she would surely always remember!
"Its nice to meet you Tracyn! May i ask why you are here?" She indicated the Lake and the vast lands around it. Indeed it seemed only Stella and Tracyn where the only ones here, and surely Tracyn didn't want to be alone?
'If he does then I'm probably bothering him..' she thought, whilst waiting to see if he would reply. The wind picked up slightly, and Stella closed her eyes, enjoying the way the wind felt.
Tracyn - December 3, 2007 01:29 AM (GMT)
The incoming wind ruffled his hair as it sped past. He put his other hand into his pocket. The wind dieing down for a bit. "I just needed to get away and think," He sighed staring into the lake's shimmering depths. He turned back to her his smile returning. The wind picked up again, this time in a much stronger gust which made him almost stumble.
Star Dust - December 3, 2007 01:36 AM (GMT)
Stella considered his answer. It was reasonable, and she believed him. At least it was a purpose. Stella still wasn't sure what she was meant to do. Ever since she had received this form she had been at a loss of things to do. She did not need to eat, sleep, or drink, and she never found herself bored. But yet she WANTED something to do, at least so she could fit it.
Her main goal was to see the Guardian of the stars, the one they called Vaul, but before that, she at least needed to accumulate some gold and a job, so the Guardian would not think of her as worthless.
The winds slowly had began to pick up. The new gust of wind was not so enjoyable as Stella had found the others. In fact, it was so strong that Stella found herself falling forwards into Tracyn.
Tracyn - December 3, 2007 01:45 AM (GMT)
Tracyn caught her as she fell, though more out of instinct than anything. Though her weight was more than he had anticipated which caused him to fall back and hit the ground. His head smacked the earth hard and when he sat up he was seeing stars. "Ow." He rubbed his head, shaking it to rid the stars.
Star Dust - December 3, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
Stella jumped up off Tracyn quickly and looked over him concerned.
"I'm so sorry!" She gushed over and over. "The wind was so strong and .. and.. are you okay?" Stella had seen his head hit the ground with some force anf she was very worried. Holding out her hand, she helped him up.
"Perhaps i could acompney you to the nearest town? I fear you may need to see a doctor.." She went on, now talking really fast, worridly. In reality, Stella wasn't sure what to do, as she had never before seen as human get hurt.
But thats when the idea hit her. Grasping her necklace tightly, Stella moved closer to Tracyn. "Here... tuch this." she commanding, reaching for his hand and laying it over the crystal. She wasn't sure what the outcome would be, him being human, but she crossed her fingers and hoped it would release any pain she had given him.
Tracyn - December 3, 2007 01:56 AM (GMT)
Tracyn withdrew his hand, "Its okay, just a little dazed." He looked at his hand, having a tingly sensation after touching the object. He sighed, not sure what to say. He wasn't one that was very good at talking with people. It was usually the horses at the stables.
Star Dust - December 3, 2007 02:03 AM (GMT)

Stella sighed in releif. He was okay! Smileing again, she sat down on he ground. "Heh im glad your okay, i thought for a minuite there id probally killed you!" She giggle softly, then sighed again.
"I dont meen to sound rude, but where you heading Tracyn?" Stella wasn't just asking out of curiosity. In truth she just wanted some where to go, so that getting there could be her purpose. She knew too little of this world do go some where herself alone, and so hoped Tracyn could be her travel partner.
Tracyn - December 3, 2007 02:09 AM (GMT)
He sat down as well, "I'm not headed anywhere really, I did what I went out to do. But I can't go home yet, I did something..." He paused wondering if he could tell her, she seemed nice enough and could probably hold a secret, "I did something bad, I can't go back like this. Can't see my parents, I feel so guilty" He sighed the despair returning. He killed somebody, he wasn't thinking. Blood lust.
Star Dust - December 4, 2007 04:25 PM (GMT)
Stella looked at him concerned. "You can tell me..." She murmured, absorbed. It didn't matter to her what he had done. Who was she to judge? Stella had spent her life as a proud star and had not cared about anything but herself, and looked down upon small planets in hardships. In fact, Stella wasn't even sure if she had ever paid attention to anyone, except how bright and beautiful her star was.
She had deserved to die. Putting a hand on his should in comfort Stella said; "Killing another being... I'm sure you did it for the right reasons." Even though she had just met him, she trusted him fully.
Tracyn - December 4, 2007 10:13 PM (GMT)
He nodded, not saying a word. He was still uncomfortable, despite almost no traces to him doing anything of the sort. But the guilt was gnawing at him all the time. Perhaps the largest reason was because he had enjoyed himself in the killing.
A sound caught Tracyn's attention. He looked to a little hill a few yards away. He noticed a small figure stumbling through a few trees. It looked almost like a lizard, but with wings. "Which means..." he muttered, following up the thought. He darted off twoards the figure dropping down next to it. It was deffenently a dragon, but it was in horid shape. The small dragon was too thin to be healthy, and its wings were drooped on the ground. Tracyn gently lifted the little dragon, "Poor thing.." He stood up, craddling the weakened dragon. "Don't worry, you will be alright."
Star Dust - December 7, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
Stella noticed Tracyn's attensin was else where. Follwing his gaze she noticed a dragon. Stella was instandtly weary. It was the first time she had encountered one, this being one of her first days on earth.
Tracyn however, was not afraid. He rushed straight towards it and lifted the small thing. It looked ill, and Stella felt a rush of affection. Tracyn stood cradleing the thing and Stella went over to them slowly.
"I... ive never seen a dragon before. I heard they are brutal, but this one seems okay."She liften her hand out the stroke the creature.
Tracyn - December 7, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
Tracyn nodded, still craddling the small dragon. "Vicious when angry, not all the time," He pat its hand reasuringly. He reached his hand into his pouch, looking for those horse biscuits dragons seemed to like. At least young ones that is. He cooed comfortingly, something he had practice with on the ranch. He smiled as it looked up at him with weary but trusting eyes.
Star Dust - December 9, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
Stella smiled. This dragon seemed to belong to Tracyn, almost like it was DESTINED to be with him.
"You no... i have a familiar... her name is Azulu, and shes a beautiful dove. Would you like to meet her?" Without waiting for an answer, Stella lifted her fingers to her lips and whistled, the sound seeming to echo.
Then silence, as Stella stood waiting, confident. Suddenly a great white bird flew from the clouds creating its outline in them. The bird looked like it was glowing, almost like Stella, and landed on her shoulder, where it pecked at her blouse in affection.
"Tracyn, meet Azulu. My familiar." She stroked the birds head lovingly, smiling the whole time.
Tracyn - December 10, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
Tracyn pulled a bit of food out of his pockets and gave it to the small dragon. He eyed the bird that perched itself upon the girl. It did have an odd glow to it. Tracyn mentally shrugged, weird things are normal, normal things are weird. He smiled nodding to the bird. He kept the dragon close in his arms, making sure that he couldn't drop her.
Star Dust - December 10, 2007 08:11 PM (GMT)
Stella glanced up at the sky. Night was on its way. It was Stella's favorite part, night. It was when the stars came out.
Looking back at Tracyn she smiled. "I'm setting up camp... do you wish to join me?" She looked at Azulu and sent her thought wave, and the great white dove set flight, off to find food.
Stella put her hand in her pocket, taking out her wand and casting her light spell, then began her search for sticks to create fire. She had a feeling the night would be cold, and she didn't want Tracyn and his new familiar to freeze, or her companion Azulu too either.
Tracyn - December 10, 2007 08:40 PM (GMT)
Tracn nodded in thanks. "That would be appreciated." He looked down at the small dragon, hopping for the best. "Have any spare blankets? Though I'm sure my stuff woulud do if I needed to. Might bet a little chilly without it but this little girl needs it more," He had already taken off his red over shirt and wrapped it around the dragon's small frame.
Star Dust - December 10, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
Stella nodded and handed him her spare cloak. Once she had collected enough sticks she placed them on a pile then waited...
Soon enough Azulu returned carrying a sack full of food, in which she passed to Stella, who opened and and spread out the contents; Joint of Ham, Bread loaf, couple of biscuits and some nuts, which Stella allowed her to eat herself. Removing Azulu's Money pouch, Stella poured a few more coins in it, in case Azulu would need to fetch anything else.
Grabbing her wand from her pocket Stella pointed it and the fire. Here goes... she thought wearily.
Tracyn - December 10, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
Tracyn took the cloak and wrapped it around the dragon. He grasped some food and gave it to the hatchling, helping her eat it when she couldn't manage herself. Once she was full he tucked her into his shirt where she would be even more warm. She stuck her head out from within, just watching Stella from the opening in the shirt.
Star Dust - December 11, 2007 07:43 PM (GMT)
Grasping her wand tightly, Stella took in a deep breathe.
"Alightus!" She yelled, as a spark emitted from her wand, lighting the fire. She smiled in contentment, then pocketed her wand carefully. Magic sure did come in handy. Turning back to the food she placed the joint of Ham on the fire to cook, then looked about. Night was fast approaching now.
Turning to face Tracyn she smiled. "Hows she holding up?" She asked warmly. Stella knew what it was like having an Familiar. It was like receiving your other half, and you would do anything for them. Stroking Azulu's head affectionately, Stella waited..
Tracyn - December 12, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
"She looks like she will be fine once she has fattened up." Ge smiled scratching the small dragon, who seemed to enjoy the treatment. She snorted out a small burst of energy. "Not fire, nor water, nor wind..." He stared at her curiously, racking his brain for the species. "A...steel dragon?"
Star Dust - December 13, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
Stella watched them curiously. It was odd, but she felt strangely jealous. Her and Azulu were not as close as they used to be. Most nights and days Azulu flew ahead, out of Stella's view, and she was forced to wait till she arrived for food to ask of errands.
There friendship was still strong, and Azulu was still her other half, but they just had drifted apart.. Watching Azulu over the fire Stella went into a sort of trance. How she had discovered Azulu had been odd, and Stella had never thought it could happen.
Stranded on an island with a moogle had been the best thing that could ever had happened. Stella had met Azulu, and together they had faced many trials. Being robbed, selling dust, sleeping on an ent, meeting many strange creatures. This world truly was amazing, totally unlike her stays as a star.
She missed those days dearly, but would never go back. She was here or a reason, to assist Vaul. And she would not let her god down. Waking from her slight trance she smiled, flushing.
"Ah sorry about that..." she murmured, then looked down at the fire once more and began to carefully rotate the ham.
Tracyn - December 13, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
Tracyn eyed the ham with hungry eyes, the dragon matching the stare almost perfectly. She yapped, squirming to reach the food, her toung licking the air. "Might want to hurry the ham, it might not be there very soon." He laughed as she jumped out of his grasp and took a bit off the ham. Her protective scales denying the flames any purchase.
Star Dust - December 13, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
Stella laughed at the sight. She was no longer afraid of this dragon. Looking down at the ham she sighed.
"This ham could take hours to cook... wait. I know!" She had a sudden idea. But could she do it without harming the dragon and Tracyn? She has faith in herself. She could do it.
She will do it.
"Tracyn, you may want to step back... WAY BACK! This could get... heated." With that she stood a little away from the fire, and raised her arm, so her fingers pointed to the stars. "Vaul aid me..." she muttered, as she closed her eyes and concentrated.
Tracyn - December 13, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
Tracyn nodded and trudged back, forcibly dragging the dragon from the food. "Not yet, you have to wait!" He fought to keep her from diving back for the ham but he had won. "Now stay put." He gripped her firmly, not causing pain though. He sat down with the dragon, still struggling for the food, caught in his arms.
Star Dust - December 15, 2007 12:17 PM (GMT)
Her arm in the air she took a deep cleansing breath, then began..
"ASSENDO!" She yelled, Bringing her arm down in a fast swipe. She remained still, and the moments past... Suddenly the sky was lit up, and stars seemed to rain down on there location. There numbers where around 12, there size that of a stone.
A red fiery glow surrounded them as they collided with the exact spot of the fire, which suddenly began to glow hot and large. The fire was now roaring, and the last of the 'stars' fell. Smiling gratefully, Stella went over to the fire to inspect the ham.
"Its ready." She announced proudly.
Tracyn - December 15, 2007 05:11 PM (GMT)
Tracyn gawked at the power she had just used on the fire, of all things. The small dragon didn't seem fazed at all, and leaped right to the ham. She tore off a massive chunk and waddled off to some shade where she snacked on it gleefully. Tracyn laughed and watched her eat. "What an appetite."
Star Dust - December 15, 2007 05:33 PM (GMT)
Stella laughed. "Glad she likes my cooking!!" She commented, taking a piece of ham herself. Glancing up at Tracyn she thought of something she probably should have asked earlier.
"Uhm.. Tracyn... what ARE you doing around these parts?" She knew it was rude but she was just generally curious, something which she hoped he would forgive her for.
Looking away from him she watched Azulu fly down and steal a biscuit. Bless her.
Tracyn - December 15, 2007 05:44 PM (GMT)
He took one last glance to the dragon before turning his attention to the question. "Just going about, sight seeing I guess." He shrugged, not having any plan of any sort actually. "Its kinda fun to see the world." He took a bite of ham and chewed thoughtfully. "I honestly don't know what I should be doing though. I guess I -should- be at the stables but after getting out, I just don't see much appeal to it anymore."
Star Dust - December 15, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
Stella nodded then stared into the flames. The night was quite cold, and she air heavy. Rising, she made her way the edge of the lake, where she stared thoughtfully into the depths.
Who knew what lay at the bottom of such a lake. Creatures unseen, treasures untold... Stella sighed at the thought. She had always wanted to see the world, discover unknown mysteries. She had just returned from speaking to Vaul, and what he had asked was still fresh in her mind.
Although she had no purpose so to speak, she was Vaul's trusted Allie, and that meant the world to her. She had at least one friend in this large void known as life. Azulu landed on her shoulder, and Stella watched there reflection in awe. The glow looked beautiful, made them stand out in this darkness.
Sighing, Stella stroked Azulu carefully.
Tracyn - December 15, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
Tracyn and the small dragon had finished their meals quietly and quickly. The meal made the hatchling quite tired and she soon fell asleep, after finding a comfortable perch on Tracyn's head. He smiled watching the tail swish gently in front of his face. He walked up to Stella and stared into the water as well.
Star Dust - December 15, 2007 08:00 PM (GMT)
Stella sat wide eyed. She did not need sleep. She couldn't sleep. Admiring the stars reflection in the lake, she listened to the sound of Azulu's flapping wings as the great dove found herself a tree to sleep in.
The night was getting colder, and her breathe came out in tiny puffs of condensed air. The exposed sky was comforting, and Stella found pleasure in such a comfort. Eyeing Tracyn at the corner of her eye, Stella cleared her throat.
"Why are you heading tomorrow?" She asked, thinking of the dragon. She wasn't sure if such things where allowed in towns. Some even shunned Azulu. Stella herself was lost for a place to go. West? To the Misty Forest? Possibilities where endless but at the same time narrowed. Stella wasn't welcome in any places of darkness, though why she did not no.
Was light not needed to form shadows?
Tracyn - December 15, 2007 08:14 PM (GMT)
"I guess I'll just start walking, see where that takes me." Tracyn shrugged, his hands making their way to his pockets. He watched the little clouds of breath that floated from his mouth, made visible from the temperature. He watched a few birds flutter across the lake. "Tanith." he nodded satisfied with the sudden idea. "I will call you Tanith." He looked up at the dragon that awoke to the sudden speech. It yipped in agreement to his decision.
Star Dust - December 17, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
[OOC: This topic seems to be going no where really. So unless you'd like to perhaps make a new one somewhere and we can travel there then i don't think i can keep replying =/ Sorry! I will post this and if you would like to move some where else post a reply Okays? :xmaslaugh: ]
Stella smiled at them both then sighed. "I too will be walking. Where... I'm not too sure, but i need to find a place to belong. Its hard when you don't truly no anyone." She stared at the now roaring fire, the warmth licking her face. Bliss.
"I guess me an Azulu should really try find an occupation for ourselves." She touched Azulu ash she spoke, and the dove seemed to calm her some what. What WAS too become of them both? Rising from the fire Stella sighed.
"It's been really nice meeting you Tracyn, but I'm afraid i have to be on my way. There is no point lingering my fate." Her mouth tilted up slightly.
"I wish you the best of luck with your new familiar, Tanith was it? I hope you both the best..." She sighed sadly. Good byes where quite painful. Hopefully she wouldn't have to make more. Waving, she began to walk towards what lies ahead. Who knew what it could be?
