Title: Drinking games
Description: Open to those who cannot detect evil

Ninelives - December 1, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
If there was one thing a demonic constitution was good for, Vex decided as she chugged yet another glass of the piss-worthy stuff these mortals dared call ale, it was good for this. She wished she could show the drunks here some real booze, Mazzer, bless his wicked heart, had really known how to brew a drink despite being a complete pansy. Most of the gods of light were like that. If they were a bit less... pansy-ish they could almost be considered evil. She sniggered at the thought, almost choking on the drink as it went through the wrong pipe.

Around her men laughed and slapped her back. She winced- her wings were only half-retracted (was it the alcohol? Nah, she just wanted to have them out a bit) and she didn't want them to notice that-

But they hadn't. She breathed a silent sigh of relief and then told them that they didn't know ale from a cow's arse and probably couldn't even chug properly. Some laughed. Other didn't. Clearly affronted some of the more heavily muscled and potbellied men muscled their way over towards her, and ordered drinks with a clink of coins.

She grinned.

"Any rules?"

"Don't pass out."One of them grunted. Then, almost like a wave of synchronized swimmers, the competitors downed their drinks. The game was on.

Alexis Venclova - December 1, 2007 10:02 PM (GMT)
Alexia observed the woman with a hiss of dislike. Her lack of social ettiquette was degrading of her sex, a female should never let a male treat her in such a casual attitude. She sipped her malt wiskey, its wooden, golden liquer slowly burning a wave of distruction down her throat but that was why she liked it. Once its hell-like and lustish contents had been drained she stood and strode silently towards the crouded bar, the people moved without instruction to let her through as she leant against the marroon drink stained wood and leant over for another glass. In the moment she glanced over to see the woman, something about her drove a darkness that had remained undisturbed in her for some time.

Ninelives - December 1, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
Vex thought her vision was going blurry then she realized she was looking at the world through the bottom of her glass. She put it down and then burped. Around her the men guffawed. Well, except for that blonde-haired dude. He had failed miserably after about the third or fourth drink. The others were still going strong and so was she- Oops, there went another contestant. Poor guy, if the hangover didn't hurt him tomorrow the glass in his face definitely would. She watched as his lethargic companions tried to get him untangled from the mess that was his shattered glass when the barkeep ruined the fun by actually getting somebody competent.

She sighed melancholically. That was a bad moment to ruin. It had been terribly amusing. She idly considered killing them all but it was an idle thought and nothing more than that. There were lots of them and one of her. It didn't take a genius to figure out those odds weren't particularly good. She turned around, eying the crowd speculatively.

She thought she had sensed hostility, but then again, drunk people tended to be hostile. It was the natural order of things. Alcohol released one's inner inhibitions and mortals, she had discovered, were not unlike devils in their mentality. Well they were weaker and stupider and all that, but they tended to thing similar things. Probably because a lot of devils were fallen souls. Or angels. She shivered at the thought. There was something... wrong about an angel turned devil. There was a grim implacability about them that made her wince whenever they were near. They were like candles- she had to constantly remind herself that she wasn't a moth.

But enough of that, she went to drink and- realized she had fallen off her stool only when two of the contestants helped her to her feet. She thanked them and when one of them tried to cop a feel that resulted in a comatose and rather unconscious man who was promptly thrown out of the bar.

It was probably all these fuzzy feelings that resulted in her retractable wings fully extending themselves.

Vex didn't realize the danger until someone smashed a chair over her head.

Alexis Venclova - December 1, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
"Intregueing." Alexis commented as she watched the drunken woman reveal her true self. No wonder she had lacked such decorum.

Smash.

She watched as if in slowed motion the drunken religious maniac strike the being over the back of the head with the chair. It was like a well instructed, yet explicit and violant dance, in fact she had to remind herself of the knowlage that this was real life.

It wasnt a long time before the rest of the room had joined in the brawl. Alexis' grip over her wiskey glass had tightened, such fools! Such, incolent, rasist, human, FOOLS! She was suprised that the glass hadnt shattered under her tense grip. The barmaid had ran off for cover whilst the landlord had joined the drunken mess, trying to break up every single person whether in a row or not.

The reason she was angry was how quickly it had taken for the male's to find something wrong with the female they had just recently been embracing with open arms.

Making her decision, Alexis ducked under the newly thrown out arm of a nearby drunkard and began to search around the female. It wouldnt be that hard as she had so foolishly made herself stick out like a sore thumb.

Ninelives - December 1, 2007 11:44 PM (GMT)
The blow had sent the she-devil to her knees, moaning and writhing in feigned pain. She had been lucky- whoever had made these chairs was terrible at it. The wood was solid (perhaps not quite as solid as her skull) but was so shoddily crafted that it had almost fallen apart at the first moment of impact. Observing the delightful chaos around her, Vex decided that it may well have been done on purpose. The chair was mostly intact- only a bit of hammering and a few nails and they'd be in tip-top shape. A slow, creeping suspicion was dawning upon Vex. The men here didn't seem like foreigners to battle and the barkeep was sighing.

He was sighing. Only sighing.

Vex grinned. This was going to be wicked.

She tried to get up- then groaned. The blow hadn't been much but it felt like all the alcohol she had consumed was directly attacking her brain. If she could just keep the room from spinning she would be able to... she would be able to...

Find a hand? Looking inquisitively about she noticed what seemed to be a familiar face and tried to debate the various merits of kicking in the teeth of a potential ally and decided firmly against it. Betrayal was all the more fun once the person in question actually trusted her and- she was quite certain- she didn't know this person. Not yet anyways.

"Do I," she slurred, "know you?"

Alexis Venclova - December 2, 2007 03:15 PM (GMT)
Alexis narrowed her eyes at the sound of the being's voice, drunken and slurred. Her suspicions of the possible immunity to the drug that was alcahol had vanished, this being obviously wasnt.

"Not yet, girl." She spat in her harsh hissing voice. Grabbing the being's wrist and draggin her off, hoping the brawl would continue whilst they tried to get out. A destraction from the drunkard would be neccisary.

Ninelives - December 2, 2007 04:01 PM (GMT)
"Ha ha," she laughed. "Youra... Youra funny un... dunno why. Jus'... funneh." She laughed again, her mirth startling other combatants who turned, realizing that the object of the fight was quickly moving away for reasons relating to someone dragging her around like a heavy sack of potatoes.

Vex giggled as she kicked a man in the crotch. Her boots were made special to resemble actual feet so instead of toes there was a piece of wood to mimic the form of a human foot. From the looks of it, she had missed. If she hadn't he wouldn't be groaning and moaning- he'd be frothing at the mouth in pure and undiluted pain.

In that moment of crystal-clear certainty she knew her life goal was to conquer the world *and* discover a cure for the nastier side-effects of excessive drink. Or at least a cure that would allow her to choose which nasty side effects would cure her.

"Oops," she giggled as people started converging upon the two females. Using her newfound ally as a support she clambered to her feet, still leaning on her heavily. "Fight or flight?" Then she giggled again and extended her wings.

"Flight... get it? Flight... ahahahah..."

Then the fighting started in earnest and Vex was too busy kicking various... soft fleshy bits to worry about laughing and giggling in general though she was doing enough of it be considered terminally insane by many who saw her.

Alexis Venclova - December 2, 2007 04:15 PM (GMT)
Letting out a quiet wolfish growl, Alexis tightened her grip on the womans wrist and firmly coninued to march her out of the bar and into the dusk. Now she wasnt so careful about bothering anybody, she stormed through the cround of brawling drunkards like a bull in a china shop.

When finally, she had reached the muddy street outside the woman was still staggering excitedly and trying to hit the many people by the doorway.

"Do you mind, girl?!" Alexis growled loudly, "For someone so different and experienced in fights you do have sucha careless behaviour!"

Ninelives - December 2, 2007 04:24 PM (GMT)
Somewhere, in the alcohol-fogged brain that Vex called her own the words pierced through her and she laughed. She was doing that a lot today she realized but continued anyways- when had she had a quota on laughter?

"We're devils honeh- that was just the tip of the iceberg. Mmmmm." She snuggled closely towards Alexis. "Need anyone dead? You sound... what's the word? Constipated. Killing someone ya hate gets rid of that feeling marvelously." She smiled cheekily at the mortal. "Trust me, I know."

But even as she said that, her free hand was drifting closer and closer to her mace. Devil hearts were rare and nearly priceless ingredients in a great many spells. She didn't know what intentions this one had but wasn't about to take a chance. She might have been a good Samaritan (which merited death on its own grounds) but maybe she was something else. She had a good feeling about this one and hoped that she wasn't going to be disappointed.

Alexis Venclova - December 2, 2007 04:31 PM (GMT)
"You disgust me!" Alexis barked ferociously, her mind lingered on the thought that tonight's light would be full, "Your behaviours degrade you, you behave like a human, as if you are one of them. Do you have no pride?"

Her eyes glanced over to where she had moved her hands, the mace was but a stone throw away. She smirked, if she wanted to play she would end up worse.

Ninelives - December 2, 2007 04:58 PM (GMT)
"You seriously need someone dead," Vex said, steadily recovering from her binge with alcohol. She was getting more and more coherent by the moment. "I can introduce you to some fantastic people- there's this two-headed ogre named Borsk and Orsk (don't ask) who's got muscles the size of-"

And off the devil rambled, above them the moon was steadily rising and much as Vex loved this person who was trying to instill pride into her there was something... odd happening. Like the smell before a storm. She sensed something and backed away precipitously.

"Ya gotta be kidding me."

Alexis Venclova - December 2, 2007 06:43 PM (GMT)
"You better be cleaning up your act before you touch the drink again. Otherwise you will be found as some common muck and i'm sure you dont want that." Alexis said unclipping the buckle that held her cloak together. "And aweful things will happen in the night too..."

She contemplated removing the cloak fully but unless her skin came out into the moonlight she was safe, so the rest was really up to the she-devil.

Ninelives - December 2, 2007 07:23 PM (GMT)
Things started to click in place for Vex. Her instincts were usually dull, but when they were fortified by liquor she often perceived things that she couldn't before. She remembered each inflection, each growl, each movement and could only conclude one thing.

"You're a mother aren't you?"

She backed away even further. "I've heard stories about your kind- how you hack demons to death and kill the monsters living under childrens' beds and closets... what did they ever do to you? Those are some of the most promising devil candidates and you... you..." she shook her head, as if scared. She *was* scared. She had never met a mother before.

"I've even heard," she whispered, "That you people are armed with true love!" She backed away a few more steps and started rubbing herself vigorously. "That wasn't true love, was it? Am I contaminated? Will I die? I never even got to build my pyramid of Mazzer's special brew!" She whined.

Alexis Venclova - December 2, 2007 07:52 PM (GMT)
"Oh relax you silly child." Alexis barked menacingly, keeping herself within the confines of her cloak, she dare not look upon the moon as it would cause her to transform. "I will not harm a hair on your head unless i need to (or i am forced to). But if you dont clear up your act..."

She glared at the woman, basking in her fright.

Ninelives - December 2, 2007 08:21 PM (GMT)
"If I don't clean up my- DAMN'D @!*%@-" Vex said as she started really moving. The peon had organized an actual hunt and extermination- much as she loved playing with this one's mind she didn't think it wise to stay around- pitchforks hurt if they were man or devil made.

"It's been lovely chattin' with ya, Ma, but I gotta jet. Toodles."

And with that the assassin was racing down the road. She tried to get her wings to extend but couldn't quite manage it, the constrictive clothing was messing with her balance something fierce and she *hated* when it did that. If she ever got a flying leap she'd be fine (and topless but whatever) but she couldn't.

Growling, the she-devil fought a war against clothing and continued running.

OOC: For the other thread... whatda we do now? O_o?

Alexis Venclova - December 2, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
Alexis wathed siently as the she-devil ran into the night. She had definetly stirred anger and darkness in Alexis yet she knew the she-devil was not worth it, how much she loathed people with such freedom, who could not care less about how others thought of them. Just like a brother.

OOC: I dunno... btw what is a mother?

Ninelives - December 2, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
OOC: I've got one... you've got one. Most kids have one. Unless they're orphans. Vex is somewhat new to this world and only vaguely recalls her mortal life. XD

IC:

The stupid piece of leather jerkin finally came off and Vex swooped away, free of the constraints of the ground. She stuck her tongue out at the marauding villagers and taunted them until one of the more hunter-ish ones narrowly missed her with an arrow. After that she just flew away, wondering about the other woman. No doubt they would meet again... she just didn't know how soon it would be. Or where either.

But fate was a tricky thing. She felt, somehow, that their destinies were entwined and then, at the end, like an orouboros- they'd gobble each other up. Such was the way life worked...
