Title: Sea Salt
Description: Open, PM me

DeiExMachinis - November 28, 2007 03:34 AM (GMT)
Geis awoke with salt-encrusted eyes. Where had he been? How had he gotten here? There was a vague memory of him having been at the bottom of the ocean- but that was clearly impossible. How would he have survived without air? He wondered at the omens that it portended and then dismissed them. He had enough on his plate before contemplating the foul version of this and that and that and this. He could survive very well without having to stress over every minor detail of his waking *and* sleeping life thank you very much.

Geis shook his head. Those thoughts did not sound like him- not at all. He wondered where it had come from, how it had been triggered.

Getting up, he let the tiny, almost infinitesimally small grains of rock escape his fur as gravity did its thing and he slowly waded back into the water. He felt filthy. It was the salt- so much of it had gotten into his fur that he could feel much of it hardened upon him like some sort of obscene overcoat of fur. He wished it off- no needed it off. Wading into the water, he stiffened- there was an unfamiliar scent in the air- and not just that of nature... someone... a fur-head he was sure, was coming.

Ashley - November 28, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
Ashley and her wolf familiar, Mist, had been walking along the beach, they had so much to contimplate, think about. So she came to one of the most calm places she could manage, the beach near Lomendore. She thought about the people in her life and the situation, and how to handle it. Her wolf nuzzled her leg encouragly sometimes and walked with her and helped her to think, he sometiems spoke, but only rarely.

Ashley was walking when Mist leaped infront of her and growled, looking every which why with one green eye and one blue, then she saw it in the ocean, a large wolf, the largest she had seen sniffing the air. She was scared for a moment and held onto Mist.

OOC: Don't worry about it. xD

Masked by the overpowering scent of the fur-head, Geis had almost failed to notice her wolfish companion but his eyes (of all things!) did not let him down and just as he sighted her, he sighted it as well. It seemed oddly intelligent, far more than the average creature and he called out softly to it, in a questioning howl. Where was it's pack? Had it truly debased itself in order to serve a fur-head? There wasn't quite so much as that in the howl that he emitted, but it served its purpose: these were questions that any wolf traveling with a fur-head might be expected to answer- a wolf was not a dog!

He quickly switched back to the other one- the... master he supposed, though the word was, at best, incorrect. No wolf would allow itself to be mastered by anything less than a god- and even a god, ah, even a god would have his hands full with a wolf. He smelled fear on her, and wondered if the wolf had, out of boredom, followed her as a protector.

“Greetings.” He said smoothly. “It is a fine day, is it not?

Aralishia - November 28, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
It was a strange time of day, the sun had just begun to descend from the center of the clearest sky of the season, and the air had just lowered, the wind playing about her feet. Crabs scuttled eagerly across the beach; now was the time best for hunting. The wind was traveling from the pair on the beach to Ara, making downwind, her plan had fallen into place. Perfect.

Not only was it a fey sort of time, but she was in a fey sort of mood, that it was a pleasurable one, not of dissatistfaction, but of a contentment after an easy encounter with him.

A lupines nose only reached the distance of a few dozen meters where it could familiarize the smell, and at the speed she would be running, it would be too late.

Ara propelled herself forward, lunging as if plummeting into a warm pool lit by the moon. She ran silently, facing his back, her boots sinking slightly into the sand, not making a sound. Her breath was neither labored nor thick, and as she reached the distance where she could see each hair on his furry back, she ran even faster, if such a thing were possible, as quick as she could muster, which was quite a thing to marvel at. Se charged forward, now a grin played on her lips, tugging them into a playful, cunning smile. She came in from his left side, halting so immediatly she surprised she didn't taste sand. She took a side step and she was mere inches from his furry, wolven face.

“It is a fine day, is it not?”
"Indeed, it is a lovely day....I concur."

Ashley - November 28, 2007 10:00 PM (GMT)
The wolf spoke fluently and very politely. Ashley sighed and rolled her eyes, she had been silly to be scared. But Mist was still letting low growles escape his mouth. Ashley smiled a little and began to walk slowling into the surf, the water hitting her aurmored boots, and after a while touching her bare legs, the water was cold and harsh, but she didnt mind. Ashley tossed her dark brown hair out of her face and let her wings go out a little.

"I'm fine thank you, can I ask why your in salt water, mist does not like it, my wolf familliar, so how you can stand it is a mystery to me. My wings get wet and flying is a pain, but still I love the water. I'm Lady Londone, though you may Call me Ashley if you wish. And this." She said motioning to her wolf. "Is Mist, he is very protective of me, though he fails to realize that I, can protect myself very well." She said giving him a little warning incase he was dangerous.

OOC: xD I think Ashley was posting while Ara already had. Due to this I'm assuming Ara came after Ashley's talk. : D Good job Ara, the main reason I had for the PM join was the whole lupine sensing other person shtick. : D It's kinda a poor excuse, but I don't want either of you re-writing your posts.

The scent of fear disappeared though her wolf companion was not giving Geis his best eye.... if anything it was an evil eye. The growl was indistinct- somewhere in between an overt declaration of war and a warning to stay away- Geis thought it prudent not to get too close, and even though the salt was rapidly eddying away he stayed in the water. Much as he hated to admit it, his strength was more on par that of a human than that of a lupine's. It was an annoying thought- that a lupine could be cowed by a glorified dog.

He listened intently to the master's questions though and understood that 'Misty' was the wolf's name (he wondered who had chosen it) and that the person in front of him had a great many names. He wondered if they were self-given or attained by some feat of valor and then decided the point moot. She was who she was, wings or not... wolf or... he considered that point and then jettisoned it. Yes, the wolf was important. Protectors were always important.

"I am Geis," he announced, introducing himself in turn. "As for the water... it was not my idea. Well, not entirely my idea. I believe," he confessed somewhat shyly embarrassed, "that I was magick'd. It started with a mage, I had just said "It was a fine day, is it not-""

About to explain something he heard something, the scratchy sound of feet on sand and then all of a sudden there was a tremendous crash and then someone was in front of him, between his new acquaintance and himself. It was someone he knew. His nose picked it up before his eyes registered her identity.

"Indeed, it is a lovely day....I concur." Aralishia told him, a playful smile on her face.

Ashley - November 29, 2007 09:55 PM (GMT)
Ashley smiled at Ara, the two knew each other and had met before, they liked each other and knew how to be civilized arround one another. Ashley smiled. "Ara, nice to see you again." She said giving her a little curtsie, her wings folding in slighty so not to get wet.

Ashley turned to the wolf. "You are in the water correct? And you dont have any idea how you got so wet and how you ended up in the ocean when you woke up? Wow thats gotta suck." Ashley said honestly. She was a teenager so sometimes her language was not the best. Honesty though was a good policy, she felt bad for him, who would so such a thing? OR was he just insanley drunk?

Mist had calmed down but not by much, he just stood staring at him on the beach. Ashley looked at him softly and he let his eyes wander from the lupine for a moment, but, she noteiced aslo that he was eyeing mist, And she would protect her protector if she needed to, she scowled at him in warning. "Be careful of mist."

Aralishia - December 1, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
At the angel's curtsy, Ara scowled. TRying to be perfect again. Ara had realized that perfection wasn't possible, and it was a much better idea to be yourself and improve yourself from there, not from a fantasy of perfection.

"The wolf is acting very strangely, he was kinder the last time I saw him."

She shrunk to the sand, balancing on her feet under bent knees, inclining towards the sand.
"Rannato, arondof weileide? Darnonde, fransicaf noir."
"Why do you fear him, your own kind? There is no need to worry, we are both friends."

She continued to eye the wolf, not breaking eye contact, and he returned her gaze equally, challenging her authority, but he heard her wolven words and bowed his head in submission.

OOC: *ahem**good with animals**points to skills* I don't know how much control you want over that mutt, but I hope he comes to terms with us. And, please, don't tell me what he says in wolven, though you can describe how he speaks so I get the idea. And if you don't like the above post, let me know, but I don't think it to be godmoding anyway...

Geis Coldfur - December 2, 2007 12:43 AM (GMT)
"It's alright," Geis growled in the same language. "He is a guardian. They shall do as they will." And almost to himself he whispered as he watched the creature- Mist had the master called it?: "It is a heavy burden."

Turning back to the other he started wading to shore. "It does... 'suck' I suppose. Give me a moment." He was walking away from them now. The urge to shake himself and rid his fur of the nasty salt water was overpowering but he reined himself in. Besides there being another wolf here to worry about, he didn't think Ara or the other fur-head would appreciate getting rained on. He knew he wouldn't.

When he got far enough away he shook himself and sighed in pleasure. That trip in the ocean had been somewhat unwarranted. "So how did you two meet anyways?" He asked curiously, reversing his course back towards them.

Aralishia - December 3, 2007 05:45 PM (GMT)
"Well," she started, turning her head up to look at him when she spoke, wondering where to begin amoung their numerous encounters, "We first met in the Salquedor Grasslands, then re-aquainted in the Ered Annon Mountains, amoung the Gypsies in the Taurai Woods, then again in Ëarsúl Marina of Lómëdor-this is the most recent encounter..." She gave a small nod to Ashley. "...We've met." Translated from Lupine to Common

She spoke the words in lupine, then she repeated them in the common language, as to not upset Ashley. This language spoken between them could be upsetting. It certainly was with Valerik. That was a messy encounter. Ara certainly had a way of making wonderful first impressions.

"It's alright, he is a guardian. They shall do as they will. It is a heavy burden."
She returned to thinking about his words, her eyebrows heavy, her hand propped inbetween her theigh and chin. He was, indeed, a wise lupine, but how would he know the ways of the guardians? Even she didn't know these ways. Though near anyone with any sort of common sense can detect a guardian and know it is a difficult job, Geis had spoken with a philosophical, knowing tone, as if he too was the burden of such a consuming, life-threatening task. She thought back to the barbarians, the wounded raven, the Wraith, the smell of blood....but it was a blurr....

The wolf hadn't uttered yet a word, so she continued to prod him.

"I promise not to harm you, I would just like to know who you are. Ashley is a good friend of mine. You are a guardian, shouldn't you know your master's dear friends?" Translated from Lupine to Common
