Nimrauko - November 26, 2007 06:59 PM (GMT)
Nimrauko walked slowly up the main street of the citadel, his black robes billowing in the harsh desert wind. The sounds of the citadel were broken by the clinking of his staff against the stone street. To his right he saw his destination, a home with an old withered man standing in the door way, waiting to greet his ancient guest.

"Nimrauko! Long has it been since you came here! What brings you here of all times? Troubles brewing in the east! Rumor of war is on the wind!" the old man said as Nimrauko approached. Smiling brightly, he motioned for the old man to be silent.

"Dalin, my old friend. I have no interest in war, especially one as futile as this. But this be not the place to talk. In private if you will." Dalin sensed the foreboding in his friends voice and hobbled into the house making room for Nimruako to enter. As he entered the doorway, he turned to shut the door behind him. Dalin made his way into a back room, and Nimrauko followed.

A table sat on the back wall, and three chairs sat around it. Dalin sat and motioned for his guest to do the same.

"So friend........you come here to seek old Dalin's aid........what be the occasion?"

Frowning, Nimrauko leaned forward.

"I need escort. My magic is mighty indeed, but my hand to hand combat skills leave something to be desired. I need you to use your connections here to get me at least three warriors to come with me to the various temples."

Dalin breathed in deeply.

"What business have you at the temples?"

"I seek the favor of the gods."

Dalin stood slowly, and made his way out of the room and towards the street. Nimrauko stood and followed close behind.

"Where are we going Dalin?"

With a wry smile he answered. "To the inn for a round of drinks, and perhaps we shall find your escorts"

They rounded the corner and entered an Inn.

And so it begins

Jaina - November 28, 2007 08:18 PM (GMT)
Jiana, was sitting in the inn, waiting for something to happen, there was no matter what, as long as it happen. After few hours of sitting in the dark corner of the main hall of the inn, thinking about your past and drinking water Jaina, had the feeling that the boredom will take its tole and kill her. As Jaina, was sitting on the table, she was moving her sightless gaze around, as if she was searching for someone in particular but alas she was not. About thirty minutes later she decided to try the ‘hard’ drinks, and ordered ‘The happy little boozer’ as the label said. Although she was here from a long time until now, she have not tried the alcohol drinks but that was about to change in few minutes.

And indeed it changed waiter brought a tankard of it, with a barely seeable smile Jaina, thanked him and passed few coins to pay for it. Before she began to drink, Jaina used her hand to feel the travel pack which was on the ground beside her chair. When she understood that the pack was on the place she left it, she touched the bandage that was around her eyes to ‘see’ if it is standing as it should. And finally after that, she was going to try the real stuff in this world. Without effort she picked up the mug and took a small slip of it.

POISON? But,why? Who would do such a thing here? Why now? She thought after the first slip. But a second later she realized that it was not poison, that was just the taste of the ‘little boozer’. It didn’t matter, how small it was Jaina felt as if a hammer has hit her head, that was not enough to get her drunk or something but, she knew that this was her first and last try of the boozer. Then some one entered the estate, by what she was able to read from their thoughts both were males, and searching for something or some one. She didn’t want to get details, and she couldn’t, though the poison slip she knew that soon or later, she will act irrationally but later was going to be better.

So she just continued to stay in the corner hoping that by some coincidence they will speak to her and ‘kill’ the boredom, together. Despite of the disgusting firs slip, she took another one and her face bend into grimace, but the shadows of the corner hid it from the rest of the customers. Then few seconds later, maybe it was from the drink or boredom, she began to play with her fireball. It was not much of a game or playing just making one small ball and making it vanish before it left her hand.

Nimrauko - November 29, 2007 05:40 AM (GMT)
Nimrauko and Dalin approached the counter. Dalin looked at the bar keeper and ordered himself a drink. Waiting for it, he noticed a woman in the corner who looked different. Before he could give another thought to it, his drink had arrived.

Nimrauko noticed a look of deep thought cross Dalin's face. "What is it Dalin?"
He made a gesture at the woman in the corner. "Shes been drugged.......perhaps we should sit with her and make sure she is going to be alright. This place is notorious for its danger" Dalin and Nimrauko made their way to the womans table.

Nimrauko spoke up looking curiously at the Woman. "May we sit with you?"

Jaina - November 29, 2007 09:39 PM (GMT)
Almost all of the commotion in the inn stopped when the door opened and few more customers entered. From whet she could make out of their thoughts, they were only two of them. And another thing she was able to catch, was that they are not here to cause troubles. Usually is some one was about to do something stupid, his thoughts were erratic and out of order, but those were quite the contrary. Jaina, remained on her seat continuing to occupy herself with her fireball, but despite that she could hear that the newcomers were speaking amongst each other.

Her hearing was not sharp enough to make out what they were saying, but it was not her job to hear their private conversations, and she was kind of pleased that she could not hear them. Then she took another drop of the poison inside the stein, as it burned her mouth the two strangers approached her and one of them asked her if they could sit with her.

She raised her head a bit and warily left the tankard on the wooden table. “ Well… ” She said and realized that her voice is high-pitched from the drink, when that happened she coughed to clear her throat and said. “ Well if you insist that much, I guess that you, may. But just to advise you, do not make anything unintelligent. ” Then she leaned against the back of the old chair, and it gave a cracking sound. After that with a nod of her head the rest of the chairs moved backwards, to invite them to sit on them.

Nimrauko - November 30, 2007 07:28 AM (GMT)
Old Dalin sat first, with Nimrauko following suit. Dalin looked at the girl with his age worn eyes, trying to figure out anything he could by mere sight alone. Nimrauko smirked. Dalin had done the very same to him when they first met.

It had been 60 years since he and Dalin met. Rumor had it, that Dalin was a quarter demon, a quarter elf, a quarter human, and a quarter Dwarf. He was one of the few people who was allied with all four. In the later years he and the demons relationship had been shaky. Nimrauko had met Dalin on one of his trips out of the underworld.

Realizing no one had spoken thus far, he took the initiative.

"So what brings you here to angband my lady?"

Jaina - November 30, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
Apparently both of them choose to disregard her word of warning, and that annoyed her a bit. Jaina, understood that they are not heeding her warning by the way one of them spoke to her. His question was simple but yet nothing in his note suggested that he heard her the first time, so she just repeated. “I will advise you, again… do not make anything mindless, or you shall pay for it.”

Nevertheless the venomous taste of the drink she took another swallow of it. When she left the tankard on the table, Jaina said “Nothing in particular brings me at this place… wherever, here is.” When she stopped speaking the bitter taste of the drink begun to form up in her mouth, but it was not as revolting as the first one. Few seconds after that Jaina, decided to indulge some of here curiosity that has been building within her since their arrival, and asked them. “So why did you sought to sit on my table, when there are others that are not occupied?”

By the time those events took place she was finished amusing herself with the gift of the fireball she controlled, and hoped that her question will not drive them away from the table, because more or less they were having a conversation. Only this conversation kept her in the inn, because there was nothing else to do unless to sleep, but it was too early and she was not tired.

Nimrauko - November 30, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
Nimrauko smiled faintly. "Nothing mindless shall be voiced my lady." Leaning forward he continued. "I seek companions to journey with me to the temples of the gods. You have a look about you that says you could hold your own in a battle, and I wished to ask you if you would help me out. Whatever treasures be found along our journey are yours to keep, and it would occupy your time, which it seems is something you would take pleasure in"

Nimrauko looked intently at her, hoping she would say yes.

-----occ------
I am sorry this post was so short, I have a bit of a headache :(

Jaina - November 30, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
“That is good.” Jaina, replied on his statement, however she was not able to say anything more because the man continued to speak. And what he said intrigued her quite a bit, but she kept wondering if that is the right thing to do. If she was to accept his offer, a test of his good intentions and trust must have been made. Because Jaina, needed to know if, she can trust her life in his hands.

“If I’m to come with you, how do I know that you will not betray me and attack or try to kill me on the first opportunity?” She was suspicious about him since he has not introduced himself, and he was asking for help. Besides she was blind, not that that was going to be a problem, but it could give him the edge to defeat her if there was a battle. While she was thinking, she took another sallow of the mug with the alcohol.

“I’m Jaina, by the way.” There it was, the first step toward building the trust between them. She was wondering how he could knew that she is bored. Maybe it was the game with the fireball or the body language told that to him, and the rest of the costumers.

(ooc: no problem)

Nimrauko - December 1, 2007 03:15 AM (GMT)
Nimrauko took in her words and smiled. "Nice to meet you Jaina, I am sorry for not introducing myself and my friend here earlier, but I wasn't going to attempt an introduction for it to turn out for naught. I give you my assurance that not attempt shall be made on your life by me nor any companion we bring." Nimrauko looked to his left and spoke.

"This is my friend Dalin, and I am Nimrauko." Nimrauko took his staff and gripped it in anticipation. Its so close I can feel it. On the threshold of an adventure we sit, only the wind at our back at open skies at our front...........

Jaina - December 2, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
Jaina quietly the explanation, Nimrauko gave for not introducing them. Inside her head a veil begun to shroud her mind, but Jaina knew from what is it, it was from the "Happy little boozer" which she ordered not long ago. "Heed something from me, telling your name to some one is the first thing to do, if you do not plan to do something bad to them. And there is no need to apologize we are all educated with different customs."[/] After thinking for a moment about his statement that no attempt to do harm will be made, she gave a sigh and said [b]"Excuse me if i do not believe on your words. I prefer actions instead of promises." When she was done speaking, Nimrauko was holding thinking about this adventure. Jaina, could not hold herself and said "On the threshold of adventure we sit? Did I accepted your offer to join you?" Though she have already made her mind, something inside of her just wanted to tease Nimrauko, just a bit. Jaina, hated what she was doing but the boozer had big advantage over her, due to the fact she have never tasted and beverage so strong before. After politely waited for the response, she spoke once again. "So tell me your plans more thoroughly, why do you seek the temples? You are going to beg the gods for forgiveness or seek their aid? If you wish their help... i can tell you that they are not going to give you any. I know this from bitter experience."
