Title: The Darkness Rising
Zed - November 24, 2007 10:13 PM (GMT)
Zed leant against a large stump of a nearby fallen tree. Grabbing his staff from the floor, he pulled himself up. After a long period of streching, Zed looked around for animal activity and, hopefully a chance to fight. Yesterday was long but Zed had a feeling today was going to feel alot longer. A small breeze swept through the damp clearing and the thick fog blotted out the sun.

There was a fur-head in the forest. Geis stared at it with something approaching confusion. Why was a fur-head, a rather sickly looking fur-head at that, doing in a forest? He knew of other denizens of the deep whom he would expect around here- point-ears, in particular he knew a great deal about and respected. This fur-head's appearance was... odd. It troubled him. And there was a smell to him to... a confusing, double-scent that escaped his understanding.
Creeping around the fur-head he tried to figure out what to do with it when, apparently, the swamp decided for him. A snake, twice as big as the two of them put together, had somehow burrowed itself underground and was slowly revealing itself to the ignorance of the fur-head. He leapt to his feet in a flash. He knew what it was. Land eel.
"Run." He yelled, motioning quickly. These creatures were deadly, more worm than eel, they gave a nasty electric jolt to those who were crazy enough to try their temper. Those that survived were eaten alive. Those that didn't were eaten all the same.
"Come, hurry!"
Zed - November 26, 2007 07:58 AM (GMT)
Confused at the fact a wolf had just told him to run, Zed launched himself into the air and sprouted his wings. Flapping relentlessly, Zed held his place in mid air. A wolf standing on two feet? Zed had never seen such a strange thing. Noticing the huge snake on the floor, Zed called out to the strange beast "What Are you? Show yourself?"

OOC: Unless you've rp'd like crazy you have way too many feats and skills. Starter characters get TWO skills and ONE feat.
Edit: This is Geis' exit post. You guys post waaaaay to quickly for me to catch up. And that's saying a lot comin' from me. O_o
IC:
Geis decided that he himself was hallucinating. Fur-heads did not have wings and this one had eyes that saw and yet claimed it was blind. The fur-head was looking _straight_ at him and still had said, quite oddly that he wished for Geis to 'show' himself. Wasn't he already clearly visible? Geis shook his head, miserable, he knew those mushrooms weren't a good idea- but he had been desperate. Hunting in an unfamiliar milieu meant that he had not known what was safe and what was not. Turning around and not looking back he started moving away, looking for a safe spot to rest. While he was poisoned by these mushrooms he might jump into a swamp thinking it a solid ground or believe just about anything.
It was time to leave. Behind him, he heard the low hum of an electric eel about to charge a small lightning bolt and shrugged. His hallucinations, apparently, were extremely realistic. Except for the wing'd fur-head. That had been a bit odd. Getting to all fours he started crashing through the underbrush, going slowly enough that if he ran into a tree he wouldn't go right to sleep, but fast enough- or so he judged- to get back to his makeshift lair before the effects of the mushroom made him completely incapable of judging what was real and what wasn't.

A small white lupine crashed through the underbrush straight ahead of Kos'harn, moving so quick as to cause him to phase or else be caught up in a collision. As the wolf went through him Kos'harn thought he recognized it.
"Geis Coldfur!" he called into the night as the wolf ran on, "I see you are still alive after our little scuffle with the barbarians. What did you think of my handiwork?"
Zed - November 27, 2007 06:12 PM (GMT)
"It is good to see you too old friend" Zed said as he slowly lowered himself down to the floor. The ground around Zed was moiste and damp making him feeling insecure standing. Walking over to a nearby tree, he climbed onto it and began to swing from a sturdy looking branch. "What Brings you do these parts?" Zed asked as he began to pick up height.
Soulreaver - November 27, 2007 06:20 PM (GMT)
"Greetings my young apprentice" Kos'harn spoke as Zed appeared, "Its been a while. How goes the hunt?"
He watched as his old student climbed higher and higher in the tree.
"Nimble as ever I see" he growled, "I am here on a quest, as it were. Regaining my strength. I see you met Geris... an interesting fellow I'm sure."
Zed - November 27, 2007 06:26 PM (GMT)
"That was a man?" Zed questioned. Reaching the top of his swing, Zed let go off the branch catapulting himself higher into the tree. Gracefully, He perched himself on one of the higher before looking back down towards his Mentor. The higher Zed climbed, the further away from the ground he got so the safer he felt.
Soulreaver - November 27, 2007 06:31 PM (GMT)
"If you don't stay still, I'll make you" Threatened Kos'harn. It was an empty threat, but all the jiggling around that Zed was doing wasn't helping him think.
"Indeed that was a man, he goes by the name of 'Geris Coldfur', and I only know that because of his battle roar." Zed gave him a look. "Long story" he said.
"But why are you here?" he asked.
Zed - November 27, 2007 06:48 PM (GMT)
Zed sat extremly still only moving to breath and blink. "Long Story" He said as drew his katana and in one smooth movment brought it down above Kos'harn. Zed enjoyed nothing more then a good old sword fight especialy when he got the chance to attack first.
Soulreaver - November 27, 2007 06:55 PM (GMT)
Kos'harn turned to the side, the slightest perceptible movement to allow the blade to rush past him a blur. He drew his own and applied the hilt to Zed's chest, shoving him back a few feet.
"I may be old, but I'm still faster than you" he said. "I taught you to always observe your opponent before combat, did you watch carefully enough?"
He slashed two handed with his sword, down-up, aiming to cut his apprentice in half.
Zed - November 27, 2007 07:21 PM (GMT)
Grasping his Katana in two hands he sturdily held it over his head. The swamp lit up momenterily as metal clashed and sparks flew. Struggling to hold his masters blade above his head Zed aimed a straight kick towards Kos'harn's chest in an atempt to knock him back.
Soulreaver - November 27, 2007 07:25 PM (GMT)
The kick impacted and knocked Kos'harn back very slightly, just enough to allow the katana blade to slip past that of his own. As the blade was almost upon his own face Kos'harn side stepped and smashed the blade away with that of his own.
"Let your anger flow through you." he advised, "Let it give you strength, let it aid your speed, but do not let it control you!"
Zed - November 27, 2007 07:31 PM (GMT)
Zed let out a deathening bellow that awoke all of the sleeping birds making them fly out of their tree top homes. Remebering his past experiances with the angels and the blood of the hundreds he had slain, Zed surged towards Kos'harn, katana pointing to the floor. With imense power, Zed slashed Down-Up then again Up-down.
Soulreaver - November 27, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
Kos'harn had to move quickly to avoiding these next attacks. The ferocity that his apprentice now channeled into his blows was phenomenal, and Kos'harn was hard pressed.
After a particularly venomous sweep left Zed overbalanced he took his chance and Phased through him, spinning out the other side to swipe left-right at his opponents legs.
Zed - November 27, 2007 07:40 PM (GMT)
Stubling backwards, Zed managed to parry the attack forcing Kos'harn's hands and sword upwards. Seeing an opening in his opponents defences, Zed rammed towards his master with his shoulder first. At this point he had calmed down from his previous rage meaning his attackers were weaker and slower but still all as deadly.
Soulreaver - November 27, 2007 07:49 PM (GMT)
Kos'harn recovered from the shoulder attack and Phased again to dodge the next few attacks. He was becoming more and more tired, his attacks weaker, his dodges slower and his blocks saving him by less of a margin each time.
However he kept pressing back forcing Zed to attack harder, faster until...
