Saeborn - November 23, 2007 05:58 AM (GMT)
While riding on the Kira's course and scaly back Saeborn looked at the sunrise and said to Kira "This is going to be a great day for flying". Kira turned her neck so her head was looking at Saeborn and she moved her head up and down in agreement. Saeborn saw a hill with a large tree on top of it and told Kira to land on it. As Kira decreased in speed and height she started to spiral gracefully and gently landed on the ground with only a small thud. Saeborn lowered himself from Kiras saddle and slid down her back to get to the ground. Saeborn walked under the tree and took some of the dead leaves and branches off the ground and assembled them into a circle and surrounded it with rocks he gathered. Satisfied with his work Saeborn looked over at Kira to see the she had fallen asleep under the shade of the tree.

Walking over to Kira, Saeborn tripped over a root from a tree and landed face first onto Kira's leg. Kira was startled and accidentally shot adimentium shards into the trunk of the tree. Saeborn got up and looked at the trunk of the tree and chuckled when he saw what she had done because she was startled. Kira looked at Saeborn with concern and Saeborn said "Im sorry Kira. I tripped over the root of the tree trunk when I was coming over to you.. Kira let out a chirp of joy because Saeborn was ok and she got up lifted off of the ground and started flying in through the sky with amazing speed and grace. Saeborn laughed again as she was trying to show off and he lifted up his right hand in the air and focused his energy to it. He mumbled a spell and his hand engulfed into flames. The ball of fire in Saeborns hand and he through it up into the air. The ball exploded into the air and Saeborn jumped up and grabbed the fiery handle of the whip that had formed in the explosion.

As Saeborn landed onto the ground the whip almost touched the ground. After wielding the whip in his hands Saeborn walked over to the campfire he had made and layed the whip into the dead leaves of the tree. Soon there was a large fire in the chilly grasslands. Saeborn decided to take a nap under the shade of the tree and that he would fly with Kira when he was done sleeping. As Saeborn fell asleep he herd a quiet thump and the warmth of Kira laying next to him.

After sleeping for a while Saeborn was awakened by a loud cry coming from Kira and a very sharp pain in his ribs. As he looked up Saeborn saw a slight blur of a bandit holding a wooden club. The next thing he knew he was on the ground knocked out.

Saeborn woke up feeling a lot of pain in his ribs and his stomach. He tried to move his arms to see if his stomach was bleeding badly but he found himself tied to the tree while there was a bunch of bandits surrounding the fire he had made before he was brutally awakened and knocked out.

Not wanting to give away he was awake Saeborn was trying to remember where Kira had gone. Then he remembered she had gone flying and thought she would return at any time now. As he tried to work himself out of the rope that bound himself and the tree together he heard a faint sound of a dragon in the distance. All of the sudden Saeborn yelled "Kira! Help me!". Realizing what he had just done Saeborn screamed a spell and a whip composed of fire was in the palm of his hand. Saeborn yanked it around the rope and burned it in half so hi could stand up. As he stood up Saeborn felt pain go in his body from his head to his toes and he fell against the tree trunk in pain.

Shortly after he fell Saeborn passed out again. This time it was only a short time and he woke up and still had the whip in his hand. Feeling a little better Saeborn stood up and found himself next to Kira. He looked at her and said "Kira, I am injured and we can not fight all of these men by ourselves. Lets take out as many as we can but I need you to scream as loud as you can several times. Do you think you can do that?". Kira nodded in agreement and looked up into the blue skies tainted with the smoke of the fire and screamed as loud as she could. The bandits backed off a little bit but still kept coming closer and closer. Finally Kira lowered her head to the ground and opened her mouth as wide as possible. Saeborn looked at the men and laughed at them as he could tell they were wondering what she was about to do. All of the sudden there was cries of the bandits as they flew backwards because of Kira's breath weapon. Saeborn noticed a man coming closer and closer and he took his whip and thrust the fiery tip forward towards the mans uncovered face. The man screamed in pain as the whip caused a laceration across the mans cheek and down his jaw. Blood gushed out of the mans face but he still kept going forward with motivation to kill. The next thing Saeborn saw the sharp tail of Kira coming towards the man with full force. When it hit the man was instantly dead and flew backwards because of the impact onto his chest.

Once again Kira lifted her head and let out another scream in hope that someone near by could come and help kill all of the bandits.

Ladislaus - November 23, 2007 03:04 PM (GMT)
(OOC: A manica is my armour, a targe is my shield.)
Ladislaus slowly strolled through the countryside, looking off into the horizon. Things had been somewhat monotonous for the past few days of his commute to Lomedor, and nothing seemed to signify any forecoming excitement. He had not been in any fights for a while, and his soul ached for the thrill of combat. He could see Lomedor in the distance, but it was still easily one days walk away.

All of a sudden, a loud shriek filled the air, ringing out in all directions, and turning Ladislaus' attention towards the epicenter of the noise. It obviously was not human, but most likely some sort of large bird or dragon. Ladislaus had no expertise in the subject, so he was not confident in his guesses. Deciding it would be best to investigate the subject, he started off towards the root of the scream, though somewhat faster than before.

He was close to where the noise had originated, but could still not see it, due to the hills and other obstacles in his way. He slowly ascended a nearby hill, and was shocked to see a group of people surrounding a tree. Yet, it was not just the tree they were focused on. A familiar face stood near the tree, and Ladislaus knew who it was immediately. Saeborn.

What he noticed also was that the people surrounding him appeared to be bandits, and were wielding clubs, axes, and swords. Apparently, Saeborn had done something they didn't like, and were slowly closing in on him. "Saeborn!" Ladislaus yelled, taking out his bow, "Take cover behind the tree!" Quickly, he nooked two arrows, and launched them into the group of bandits.

He could not tell whether they hit or not, but he readied another arrow, and let it fly into the group. Ladislaus continued barraging the group from on the hilltop, but unfortunately, some started to wise up, rushing up the hill towards him. He slung his bow over his back, and drew his blade and shield, locking the shield onto his manica.

A bandit was soon close enough to Ladislaus, and swung his club at the gladiator. The hit was ineffective, bouncing off of his shield, the sound of wood clanking against reinforced brass echoing through the air. Ladislaus slashed at the bandit, but missed, as the bandit jumped backwards, barely dodging the hit. In a twist of fate on the bandit's part, he tripped backwards as he dodged, and fell onto his back, defenseless. Ladislaus slowly walked up to him, and ended his misery, digging his blade into the chest of the hapless bandit.

Three more bandits slowly ascended the hill, and Ladislaus quickly dispatched the first one, with a powerful blow from his targe, sending the foe rolling down the hill. The other two might be a challenge, one holding an axe, and another holding a longsword. Ladislaus made the first strike, slicing at the axe-bandit, but the bandit managed to evade the attack, and countered by swinging at Ladislaus, hitting him in the back, smashing him into the ground. Ladislaus rolled over, leaving a smear of his blood on the grass below him, and sprung to his feet, punching the axe-bandit in the face, his neck twisting in an attempt to lessen the affect of the blow. The sword-bandit, who had been waiting for the right time to strike, found an opening.

He swung at Ladislaus' shield-arm, but only managed to gain a glancing blow onto his arm. Ladislaus swung around, and somehow, managed to decapitate to sword-bandit, the headless man falling to his knees, before collapsing to the ground. The axe-bandit was now visibly discouraged, and attempted to flee down the hill. Ladislaus, realizing his enemies back was turned, and that he was on higher ground, leapt onto the man's shoulders, cracking the man's spine under the sudden addition of two hundred pounds of man and metal.

Ladislaus pulled out his bow, now that the coast was clear, and continued causing havoc on the bandits below.......

Winter - November 23, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
The sound of a screaming dragon wasn't something that could easily be ignored, especially one sounding the way this one was screaming.
"Sounds like trouble,"
Winter turned her gaze to Shari having just thought the same thing as her.
"Hm, I guess it can't be helped," she replied.
Shari gazed back at Winter before turning her gaze back in front of her.
"Shari, can you identify the sound?" Winter asked.
"Sounds like a dragon," Shari replied "I cannot tell what kind thought."

"That's good enough," Winter said, moving forwards.
"Miss Winter?"
"Come on, Shari," Winter said "Chances are there is a battle we can prevent."
Shari nodded and followed. Both women broke into a run, heading in the direction of the sound. As they drew closer the sound of fighting caught their ears.
"We're too late," Winter grimaced.
"Only one option then," Shari replied.
"Yeah, stop it as soon as possible,"

As much as Winter hated to get into a fight there was always a battle she was unable to avoid such as in this situation. Since her training she had become more used to battle but was still just as unwilling to participate, as was Shari.

The two women halted when the scene came into view, the battle seemed pretty spaced out, what with a small brawl going on at the hill and he main focus around a tree.
"Bandits," Winter commented "Why am I having so much trouble with them lately? Still, it's better than vampires."
The man surrounded by the bandits seemed to be doing a good enough job of fighting them on his own, however there were still a lot more bandits than him and even the best warrior can be beaten by shear numbers.
"Shari," Winter commanded.
Shari moved forwards, startling one of the men and knocking him out with a well aimed blow to the neck. Winter took the opportunity while the bandits nearest to him hesitated between attacking Shari and the stranger and jumped over their heads.

She landed between two of them about to go for Shari, startling them. Using this to her advantage she stood up straight and rammed her knee into the first man's midriff. The second recovered quickly from his show and thrust a sword at her, Winter ducked it and rolled to the side when the man tried to bring it down on her.
What are these men thinking? This man has a dragon, what chances do they think they stand against that?
She got to her feet again as the sword was thrust at her again, she raised one arm and let the blade slide along it, knocking it off course. Winter took the opening and aimed a punch with her other arm, hitting the man in the chest.
If I'm going to finish this quickly, I'll have to get serious, she reached behind her, grabbing the hilt of one of the three katanas resting on her back Bit it would be wasteful to use Libra for such a meaningless fight.

She drew her first katana and reached up to draw its twin, however the man clocked just in time and charged at her. Winter half parried half dodged the blow sent at her, letting the man run past her. She drew her second katana and kicked the man in the back, causing him to stumble forwards. She glanced over at the man the bandits had originally attacked, she didn't doubt his skills since no inexperienced fighters would use a fire whip, but he did seem too bloodthirsty for her liking.
That can't be helped though, she looked back at the bandit she was currently fighting Just because I don't kill, doesn't mean he doesn't too.
She caught the man's next attack with both swords, pushing the man back and then moving to counterattack.
