Title: Training Between Drow
Description: Private, Vencrest
Sargtlin Olath - November 20, 2007 04:46 AM (GMT)
Sargtlin was walking up a steep pathway leading into the Ered Annon mountain range. His feet keeping up a steady rhythm, as if his feet were playing a large drum, pounding through the mountains.
"Ered Annon, a good place to train with the sword." thought Sargtlin as he continued up the steep path, extending his hand quickly as his face fell towards the ground, realizing that he had accidentally stepped on a small rock that had taken away his balance as it slid down the mountain path. He had come there for some training with his sword, his recent battles had shown him that he needed much more training, to increase his skill with his deadly-sharp blade, for he did not want to end up with a slit throat or a sword protruding from his stomach. He quite often went to the Ered Annon Mountains, for the specific reason of solitary training. There was the training facility in the Salquedor Grasslands, but he never liked it there for the amount of people there displeased him.
"Climbing these mountains can be long though." he thought, seeing the end of the pathway leading up to a open and fairly level area, that was where he usually trained.
He made his last step on that mountain path, up onto the small area. He looked around, seeing once again how little there was there, which was good for him, for he needed the room to swing his large two-handed sword. He walked into about the middle of the place, knowing that there were no trees on that area, no pools of water or anything to get in his way while training. He drew his sword, looking at his reflection in the icy cold blade for an instant, then he dropped into his fighting stance, then he began practicing his basic sword strikes.
Vencrest Kianthis - November 25, 2007 02:35 AM (GMT)
Vencrest rode on the back of Zekbel, over the great mountain range. His recent travels with the gladiator, Ladislaus had shown him that his combat style was lacking lately. He needed to get stronger, if he wanted to show how strong he was. He could try out his new skills, granted by being a Chaotic Gladiator. He looked behind him, to see Trekella, the lupine minion in his travels. The lupin nodded her head, as if acknowledging she was there. Together, the trio, Zekbel, Trekella, and Vencrest would form an invincible alliance, creating chaos from where ever they went. They could rain down lava, and fire, along with blood and pain.
"Wait," Trekella roared over the wind. Vencrest turned around again, facing the lupine. "What is it," Vencrest shouted, equally as loud. The lupine pointed down below, to a speck on the mountain. 'A person,' he thought to himself. 'A perfect chance to spread chaos, no doubt.' "Down there," he said to Zekbel, pointing to the dot below. The dragon banked, and neared the ground, ready to land. As he came near, he noticed that the being was a drow, not a normal human. "Maybe this one isn't worth killing," he told the team, notifying them not to instantly attack. "Better having another immortal on the world. Maybe we could even be allies," he added with a smirk.
The dragon landed nearby, in eye distances of him, yet away from the platform. He dismounted the dragon, and signaled Trekella to do the same. Sure enough, she did, following right behind him. The drow was swinging a two handed sword around, practicing formations and attacks. 'Practicing, huh,' he thought ,' something that I could use.' He approached the drow, and drew his own sword, holding it limply at his side, as a gesture of peace.
"Ah, yes, a fellow drow. It has been quite some time since I have seen my species. Most of our kind dwells in the caves, and only a rare few manage to leave the caves. I only hope that you aren't one of the 'good people,' are you? I would hate to kill another immortal. I mean no offense, I'm just taking precautions, for you see, I have encountered some odd forces lately," he said to the drow. Trekella stepped forward, next to Vencrest. "This is Trekella, a chaotic lupine minion,' Vencrest added, with a smirk. "If you aren't gonna kill me, or vice versa, maybe we could work together? Show each other some moves that would ensure that we would live in combat. What do you think?"
Sargtlin Olath - November 26, 2007 03:14 AM (GMT)
Sargtlin was practicing a few of his preferred techniques, the ones that he had taught himself. He felt the weight of his large sword cutting through the air as he tried to perfect his techniques, improving upon each of them to make him a better swordsman. As he did, he saw a figure walking towards him, a Drow it appeared.
"Company? Interesting, I wonder who he is, and what he's doing here on these lonely mountains?" he thought as he saw the Drow walk up to him with his sword drawn, but hanging at his side in a gesture of peace. Sargtlin never completely trusted gestures of peace, but he decided to go along with it, letting his own sword drop down lower. He heard the Drow speak to him.
"Ah, yes, a fellow drow. It has been quite some time since I have seen my species. Most of our kind dwells in the caves, and only a rare few manage to leave the caves. I only hope that you aren't one of the 'good people,' are you? I would hate to kill another immortal. I mean no offense, I'm just taking precautions, for you see, I have encountered some odd forces lately."
Sargtlin wondered who this Drow was and why he just went up and started a friendly conversation with Sargtlin. Sargtlin laughed at the Drow's question.
"None have referred to me as a 'good person'. No, I am not one of them, as you say." he said to the Drow. He watched as a Lupine walked up next to the Drow in front of him. He raised his sword slightly, it's tip pointing horizontally. He heard the Drow speak again.
"This is Trekella, a chaotic lupine minion. If you aren't gonna kill me, or vice versa, maybe we could work together? Show each other some moves that would ensure that we would live in combat. What do you think?"
Sargtlin felt untrusting of the Drow, and especially of his Lupine minion, Trekella. He needed to train with someone else, someone else who had skill with the blade, otherwise he wouldn't learn any and would stay at were he was in his skill.
"But what's his name, I wonder? He seems slightly familiar, but we will see." he thought, his eyes looking over the Drow.
"Agreed, but first, what is your name, Drow? My name is Sargtlin Olath, but before we begin, I would like to know the name of the one I am training with." he said, wondering if this Drow was one that he knew or not. Even though he himself was a Drow, he had not met many Drow in his travels. He never would forget the memories of his clan, though he desired to forget about them more than many things, for they tormented him very often.
Vencrest Kianthis - November 28, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
Vencrest listened quietly as the other drow spoke. "None have referred to me as a 'good person'. No, I am not one of them, as you say." Vencrest let out a sigh. He had been so up forward when it came to asking him, and he received an up forward answer. He didn't want to take chances, and plus, he wasn't used to having a conversation without humiliating the speaker. He tried his hardest to not come off rude to a potential ally. "Agreed, but first, what is your name, Drow? My name is Sargtlin Olath, but before we begin, I would like to know the name of the one I am training with," the drow identified as Sargtlin said.
"Oh, my apologies," Vencrest said ", I had introduced my companion, without introducing myself! My name is Vencrest Kianthis, and Chaotic Gladiator, and spreader of Chaos. Now, let me show you a move that can assure that you will win all your fights." With that, Vencrest held his sword high, and his hand at his side, ready to show off his move to the other drow.
Trekella stepped aside, and watched her companion ready to show the move to the other drow, making sure she was well out of the way. Vencrest channeled energy to his hand, and in seconds, launched the spell, Plague of Insects. The cloud of insects moved toward a location, were the imaginary enemy was located. Vencrest sprinted to the location, and slashed viciously at the spot were the insects were gathered. The imaginary would normally be swatting at the swarm of insects in his face, and while he did so, Vencrest's sword would catch him off guard, and do some serious damage and possibly even kill him.
To his surprise, the mountain had proved to be a much better combat ring than he thought. It was clear, free of rubble and rock, yet the mountain itself was rough, allowing him to have good footing. The temperture was perfect, and a slight breeze rang through the mountain occasionally. The only difficulty would be if he fell. The mountain was step, and a fall would surely break several bones, if not death.
"Well," Vencrest panted, slightly fatigued after madly swinging the sword and casting a spell ", that was the move. As you could probably tell, the cloud of insects distracts the foe, leaving him vulnerable to a counter attack. That move has proved useful for me before, and it might come in handy for you. Do you have a move, that is worth for me to learn?," Vencrest questioned, looking at the drow.
Sargtlin Olath - November 29, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
Sargtlin listened to the Drow's response to his inquisition.
"Oh, my apologies, I had introduced my companion, without introducing myself! My name is Vencrest Kianthis, and Chaotic Gladiator, and spreader of Chaos. Now, let me show you a move that can assure that you will win all your fights."
"Vencrest? No, not the Drow I'm thinking of, though he couldn't be, I killed the one I'm thinking of years ago. But I doubt that this move of his let me win all of my fights, but who knows?" he thought as he stepped back from the man, not knowing how much room he would need. He watched as Vencrest lifted his sword into the air, his other hand dropping to his side. Sargtlin watched the Drow, but as he did, he heard a loud buzzing and then saw a swarm of insects move to the position where he assumed that the imaginary target was. He watched as Vencrest quickly ran up to and sliced at the imaginary target. If the enemy hadn't been able to block the blows then he would have been in deep trouble. Sargtlin watched the Drow turn, panting to speak to Sargtlin.
"Well, that was the move. As you could probably tell, the cloud of insects distracts the foe, leaving him vulnerable to a counter attack. That move has proved useful for me before, and it might come in handy for you. Do you have a move, that is worth for me to learn?"
"Interesting. You may not be able to make use of my sword techniques, but I will show you anyway." he said as he got into a fighting stance up close to the imaginary target, as if they were already fighting. Then he quickly dropped his weight down, as if to dodge a sword or weapons strike, and while he was low he sword his sword at where the target's ankles would be. After the sword slice, he brought his body weight up quickly, throwing a powerful uppercut with his left hand, to catch the enemy in the face if they blocked the sword slice or if they let it hit them, or in the chest if they jumped to avoid the sharp and deadly blade. He turned back to Vencrest after he was done.
"That is my favorite technique that I have in my collection, not a very good attacking move, but very useful defensive wise. If they attack at your upper body or head, then you duck to avoid it and slice at their ankles, if they're hit, good, if not then they will most likely get struck by the rising uppercut. Now, anything else you have?" he said to the Drow.
Vencrest Kianthis - November 30, 2007 03:26 AM (GMT)
The other drow began to speak, directed towards him. "Interesting," he said ",You may not be able to make use of my sword techniques, but I will show you anyway." With that, he lunged at the imaginary enemy that he had attacked, and as he neared him, he ducked low. 'Well,' Vencrest thought to himself as the move continued. 'This could also be extended to dodge a move as well, and could prove to be quite useful.' Even as he thought, he bent his ankles slightly as well, imagining himself doing the move. Sargtlin continued, slashing his sword at the 'enemy's' ankle, and in seconds, brought his fist up, performing a uppercut. 'Impressive,' Vencrest thought to himself again ', A move with a unarmed strike. Its risky, but it could easily catch an opponent off guard, dealing a lot more damage than they would have expected. Even if they had sensed the punch, the ankle slash would more than likely be successful.'
It was as if he had read Sargtlin's mind, for the drow said ", That is my favorite technique that I have in my collection, not a very good attacking move, but very useful defensive wise. If they attack at your upper body or head, then you duck to avoid it and slice at their ankles, if they're hit, good, if not then they will most likely get struck by the rising uppercut. Now, anything else you have?" Vencrest began to think, trying to find another move that could help the other drow. "Well," Vencrest thought aloud ", There are a few obscure moves that I've spotted before hand. Here, let me show you."
Vencrest approached the imaginary enemy, pulling his sword in front of him. He performed a back hand with his sword, slashing in a odd direction. He then held the blade still, as if the foe was blocking the previous slash. He held the blade steady for a moment, and quickly brought his foot under, kicking the foe, and after the swift kick, a series of rapid punches.
"See," Vencrest said ", The purpose of the move is to perform a backhand slash, and even in some circumstances, the blade hits, and the rest of the move doesn't need to be performed. In the likely circumstances that they do block, they most likely have to hold their blade in place, giving you time to prepare for a frontal unarmed assault, giving you a chance to deal some serious damage. Well, your turn, or if you like, after you show a move, we could have some simple, nonlethal sparring?"
Sargtlin Olath - December 1, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
Sargtlin was glad to do some basic training for once, especially since both he and this other Drow, Vencrest, were learning more in the ways of the sword. As Sargtlin finished talking he looked at the Drow for a moment before Vencrest spoke to Sargtlin.
"Well, there are a few obscure moves that I've spotted before hand. Here, let me show you."
Sargtlin watched as the Drow made his way over to the imaginary target, holding his sword out in front of him. He made a backslice at the target, but seemed to bring it short and he held it still.
"Assuming the target blocks the blow, I suppose?" he thought as he continued watching to see the man's foot quickly shoot out, making a swift kick at the enemy.
"A distraction? Although if you targeted it well, then you could make the foe lose their balance or even drop to the ground." he thought, watching the Drow follow in with a rapid series of punches. After he was done, the Drow spoke to him again.
"See, the purpose of the move is to perform a backhand slash, and even in some circumstances, the blade hits, and the rest of the move doesn't need to be performed. In the likely circumstances that they do block, they most likely have to hold their blade in place, giving you time to prepare for a frontal unarmed assault, giving you a chance to deal some serious damage. Well, your turn, or if you like, after you show a move, we could have some simple, nonlethal sparring?"
"Interesting technique. I have another technique to show you, and after that I would enjoy a sparring match." he said to the Drow as he made his way over to the imaginary target. He prepared himself to use a technique that he hadn't used in quite awhile, to his knowledge he hadn't used it since his memorable fight in Dori'ba. That was one fight that he wouldn't forget, but now it was time to demonstrate his technique. The technique was similar to the one Drow used, but he still decided to see if the Drow could make use of it. He made a backslice like the Drow did, pausing again as if the foe had blocked, but then he threw his weight forward, throwing a very powerful punch with his left hand and using his momentum to carry him on. After the punch his momentum and weight kept him going forward into a spinning backslice. He had found uses for that technique, but it had some risks to it as well, then again several of his techniques did.
"That was my technique, as you can see, it starts off similar to yours. If the unlikely hood that they don't block the first slice, then it works the same as if they did. This one uses momentum to make your attacks faster and stronger when they hit. If they block the first slice, then you just move forward with the punch to catch them off guard, and then spin into another sword slice." he said. Then he drew back into his fighting stance, facing the Drow.
"Now, are you willing to spar with me?" he asked Vencrest.
((OOC: Sorry about the delayed post.))
Vencrest Kianthis - December 3, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
"Interesting technique. I have another technique to show you, and after that I would enjoy a sparring match," Sargtlin told Vencrest in a gruff voice, holding his sword up. Vencrest leaned against the wall of the mountain, his inquisitive eyes observing the other drow as he began to show Vencrest his move. He performed a back slice, similar to the one Vencrest had preformed in his previous move. After the slash, he threw a powerful punch with his left hand. After that, he spun around, using the momentum from his punch, his sword slashing the imaginary foe. 'Ah, a risky move,' Vencrest thought, bringing his hand up to his face ', it has a huge risk of being unsuccessful. The slash is relatively simple, and the punch is as well, but the spinning slash is the risky part. He could lose his balance easily, and if the opponent stands firm, he would fall. But it could be extremely valuable as well. When its successful, it cuts the opponent and deals some unarmed damage.'
"That was my technique, as you can see, it starts off similar to yours. If the unlikely hood that they don't block the first slice, then it works the same as if they did. This one uses momentum to make your attacks faster and stronger when they hit. If they block the first slice, then you just move forward with the punch to catch them off guard, and then spin into another sword slice," Sargltin told Vencrest. Sargltin stepped back, holding his sword in a defensive stance. Now, are you willing to spar with me?" he asked Vencrest.
"Why, yes I am!," Vencrest exclaimed, pulling his own sword close to him. He circled around Sargltin, glaring into his foes own dark eyes. He jumped backwards, and held his hand out. "Be ready, cause I'm not holding back!," he shouted. With that, he channeled mana into his palm. Red energy formed in his palm, and in a second, it launched into the sky. It reached its peak in another second, and exploded, raining ash and debris from the sky. The fiery substances landed on Vencrest as well, burning him slightly, but he had realized that as a difficulty. The whole purpose of the shower was to distract Sargltin.
He held his hand out again, and channeled more energy into it. A blue orb formed in his hand. He launched out the orb, and it formed into the spell he had desired to cast, Ice Arrow. The ice arrow flew towards his foe, ready to pierce his shoulder.
Sargtlin Olath - December 4, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
Sargtlin watched as Vencrest pulled his sword close to his body, jumping back and then spoke to him before beginning.
"Why, yes I am! Be ready, cause I'm not holding back!"
Sargtlin smiled as he watched what he resumed to be a spell that the Drow was using for he watched as his palm started gathering a red energy of sorts to it.
"Excellent, for if not, that would be rather disappointing." he said as he prepared to react to the spell. As he did he watched the red energy shoot up into the air, exploding in the air. Sargtlin saw that it would most likely land on Vencrest as well.
"Eh? Why would he hurt himself in his spell?" he thought, but then he remembered the first technique that the Drow had shown him.
"Another distraction is it? Very well, some burns haven't slowed me down before, but I don't think it will be that bad." he thought as he quickly returned his eyes to the Drow, a blue orb already forming in his hand, aimed at Sargtlin. He watched him launch the blue orb, forming into an odd arrow aimed straight for his shoulder. He quickly tried to step to the side and turn his body at the same time, intending to dodge the spell. He didn't dodge it completely because the spell was cast to close for him to fully dodge it, but he only felt it graze his arm. As it did he noticed an odd chilling sensation, as if the arrow were made of ice, leaving the wound very cold.
"Magic eh? Don't worry though, I have my own." he said as he prepared to cast one of his spells at his foe.
"Mimun!" he shouted as he continued to gaze at the Drow, casting his Weaken spell. Right after he did, he leaped forward, swinging his sword down at the Drow.
Vencrest Kianthis - December 8, 2007 01:58 AM (GMT)
The Ice Arrow was released from his open palm, and was sent hurdling towards Sargtlin, aimed for the drow's shoulder. Vencrest had purposely aimed for the shoulder, for if he had aimed at the heart, it would kill his opponent, and this was not the goal of the sparring match. Sargtlin watched the spell Ashen Shower launch in the sky, as planned, suspected that this was the primary attack, but in truth it was not. He would be pierced by the Ice Arrow, dealing some ice damage, along with the force of the arrow piercing his flesh.
Something seemed to click in the other drows mind. He glanced forward, and noticed that Vencrest had fired the spell, and quickly shifted directions, in an attempt to dodge the arrow. He did so, having the ice arrow skim past him, its chill leaving the air. 'Ugh,' Vencrest thought, returning back into a defensive position, readying himself for a likely counter attack ', if I had aimed for the heart, the arrow would most likely be not dodge able. When he would turn, it would still pierce his shoulder. If I hadn't shown the earlier distraction move, he most likely wouldn't have detected it as a distraction. He's playing tough, and I'll have to match that.'
"Magic eh? Don't worry though, I have my own," Sargltin said in a calm voice, a smirk spread across his face. "Mimun!," he exclaimed, his voice echoing across the mountain side. Vencrest jumped slightly, in attempt to dodge any potential spell that would be fired, but to his surprise, the drow had not cast any spell that he could see. 'What is it? Some sort of Strengthen spell?,' he thought to himself, puzzled. He quickly identified the spell, as the affects of it over came his body. His muscles began to tense, and tire. He began to pant, as though the fight had lasted for several minutes.
"Makes sense," Vencrest said aloud, to his opponent. "If I get to play dirty, so can you! Just a warning, it's getting serious!" He pulsed mana throughout his body, casting the Blur spell. "Now brace yourselves," he shouted, running forward. His body appeared to be a thin streak, as he ran forward. As he reached Sargltin, he dropped to the ground with unnatural speed, and performed a sweeping kick, and then, just as fast, stood himself up, pulling his sword along the body of the other drow, hoping that he would ether knock down his opponent, or slash his body.
Sargtlin Olath - December 10, 2007 03:12 PM (GMT)
Sargtlin watched his spell quickly take effect on the Drow, hearing him begin to pant heavily. He smirked at the sight, the sight of the Drow already panting as if the battle had been going on for quite a while already. Then he heard his words to him.
"Makes sense, if I get to play dirty, so can you! Just a warning, it's getting serious! Now brace yourselves,"
Sargtlin prepare himself for what was to come, knowing that this was starting to get good.
"Excellent, this should be interesting." he said as he carefully watched his opponents movements. Although after realizing the type of spell the Drow had cast, he knew that it would be difficult to watch his movements, for the man started to come at him, but only seemed to be a thin streak. Sargtlin was amazed at the speed of the Drow with the spell cast on him to increase his speed. Before he was sure what to do, he felt the man's foot make hard collision with his leg in a sweeping attack. Fortunately for him, he did not fall to the ground, but he only stumbled backwards a few steps. After his stumble, he was quite surprised by the fact the stumbling backwards made it so that almost all of him dodged the man's following sword slice. All that the sword hit was his chainmail armor, not giving the sword the chance to rend through his flesh just yet.
"Tril!" he shouted, casting his Plague of Insects spell after he knew that the sword would cause no serious damage.
"Let's see if he will fall to his own trick." he thought as he watched a swarm of insects fly over to the Drow, starting to try to bite, sting, and assault him. When he saw the insects attack the man, he quickly thrust himself forward with his legs, swinging his sword diagonally towards the man's left shoulder.
Vencrest Kianthis - December 11, 2007 01:42 AM (GMT)
Vencrest's foot made direct contact with the other drow's legs. A pleased smile spread across his dark lips, at the fact that his attack would be successful. If it went as planned, he would be able to complete his sword slash, striking at Sargltin, and ending the skirmish. Something was amiss, Sargltin was knocked back father than he had originally thought. Vencrest's blade continued to travel upwards as it originally had been planned to, but instead of cutting the drow's flesh, it was dragged across his armor. Overall, it had scratched the armor, at most, and most likely, had no affect what so ever on his opponent. 'A waste of effort,' Vencrest thought, as he pulled him self back, ready for the counter attack. 'I at least got a good kick in, and the effects of the Blur spell are still in affect. This fight is still any ones game.'
Moments later, the other drow shouted "Tril!." 'Another spell,' Vencrest thought again, bracing himself for the spell. 'Lets hope its a different one than Weaken. That had proved to be quite a negative.' It was not, for instead, a swarm of insects were launched forward, ready to strike Vencrest. "The same move I showed you early on, eh? Well, you should learn from the best," he exclaimed, a smug look spread across his face. Sure enough, his opponent swung his sword in a diagonal direction, towards his shoulder.
Vencrest thought quickly, trying to asses the situation. 'I have to dispel these insects,' he thought as he instenctivly drifted backwards, in an attempt to dodge the blow. He outstretched his own hand, and channeled energy to his palm. Another cloud of insects launched from his own outstretched palm, colliding with the own his enemy had launched at him.
Unfortunately for him, the spell he had cast had slowed his movements, making that Sargltin's sword cut across his chest. He had already moved back slightly, making the cut light, but still painful. If he had been wearing armor, like Sargltin, the cut would be nonexistent, but for now, the drow was armor less, making the cut worse than normal. Blood seeped from the wound, drenching his shirt in the fluids. "You got your hit, now its my turn!," he shouted, in clenching his wound.
He stretched his hand again, channeling more mana into it. A blue orb formed, and a Ice Arrow launched from it, heading for the drow. He rushed forward again, slashing at the drow. The goal of the move was for the drow to choose which hit to take. Ether face the sword cuts, or the Ice Arrow, and ether way would harm Sargltin.
Sargtlin Olath - December 12, 2007 03:34 AM (GMT)
Sargtlin was pleased to feel his attack work, the insects providing his foe something to concentrate on while his icy sword blade swung down towards him. The Drow had backed up, but not quite far enough, for he had his own spell, making another cloud of insects collide with Sargtlin's, and so Sargtlin's blade made a light cut across the Drow's chest. Sargtlin grinned devilishly as he watched the Drow's blood seep into his shirt, leaving a reminder of the blow. He heard the Drow speak to him after his slice, clenching the wound with his hand.
"You got your hit, now its my turn!,"
Sargtlin was interested in what was to happen next. Would the Drow hurt him? Would he kill him? Or would Sargtlin go unscathed?
"We shall see, I'm not giving you privilege though, you'll have to earn my blood." he said as he prepared for an attack. Sargtlin was not surprised to see the Drow channeling energy to form orbs of magic power in his hands as he reached his hand out towards Sargtlin. Sargtlin raised himself to the balls of his feet, for quick, easy movement to dodge whatever spell the Drow cast. He saw another arrow made of ice traveling quickly towards him.
"Another ice arrow spell? What's he trying?" he thought, nimbly stepping to the side and twisting his body, evading the spell. He glanced back at the Drow, but before his eyes had even made it to his foe, he felt the icy cold blade slash across his body. He felt the warm blood flow out of the wound, not a extremely serious wound, but one that could cause problems if the match lasted a long time.
"So, that's what he was trying." he thought as he watched the sword come around again, bring his sword in it's path so that it collided with the flat of his sword. After the block, he sharply twisted his sword to swing around overhead and come in another diagonal swing towards his foe's right shoulder. This time he followed through, kicking his foot out towards the Drow's chest after his sword swing, attempting to off balance the Drow.
Vencrest Kianthis - December 22, 2007 03:45 PM (GMT)
Vencrest's sword cut through Sargltin's skin, sending warm blood running to the ground. It was minor, like his own wound, but it would be painful, much like his own would be. He pulled himself backwards, preparing for a counter attack from his foe. The drow swung his blade across his shoulder, in an attempt to hit him, and cause another deep cut across his body. Luckily, Vencrest's had managed to back up far enough to dodge the blow, making the sword miss his unprotected flesh. But Sargltin had more. He followed through with a kick, attempting to send the drow off balance. It had been successful, hitting Vencrest's shins, causing them to bleed slightly as his opponents foot made contact with him.
He teetered backwards, his legs in pain. He nearly toppled to the ground, but after flailing his arms about, he managed to remain stationary. He pulled himself forward, reaching his full height yet again, and faced the drow, but instead of reading himself for a move, pulled his blade to his sheath. "Ah yes," Vencrest said, breathing heavily, rubbing his aching ankles ", That was an extraordinary fight! I'm glad I'll never have to face you in combat!"
Vencrest walked towards the wall, gazing into its deep patterns that were formed across its rocky surface. The mountains were so strange, so old. He had thought that he was more powerful than mortals, since he was immortal, and ageless, yet in front of such an old land mark, he felt small, and young. The mountains were mysterious, holding great secrets of many nations. The dwarfs found homes in them, along with the Spiders. He remained gazing at the rocks, while saying ",The fight was fun, I must admit, but I feel that we should do some thing else, some thing worth while! We are both of the same species, so we naturally get along, and we both have similar combat techniques. May be, we can do something on this mountain, that will be worth while. We both are skilled in combat, may be, we could ally ourselves together, and find some thing to do, rather wast skill and energy sparring with each other!"
He faced the drow again, looking at him expectantly. They could do some thing ludicrous, and earn him some profit. This drow might prove to be a great ally. "What do you think? Any suggestions?"
Sargtlin Olath - December 25, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
Sargtlin was a bit disappointed to see his sword slice miss it's mark, but his kick had hit the man's shins. He assumed that the man would not enjoy something like that, and the Drow teetered backwards flailing his arms to keep balance. He didn't fall to the ground though, and as Sargtlin prepared himself to defend another attack, he watched the man pull his sword back to his sheath before speaking to Sargtlin.
"Ah yes, that was an extraordinary fight! I'm glad I'll never have to face you in combat!"
Sargtlin smiled at the words.
"Same, you are good." he said to the Drow who was rubbing his ankles from the kick to them. Sargtlin watched him gazing at the rocky wall before speaking to him again.
"The fight was fun, I must admit, but I feel that we should do some thing else, some thing worth while! We are both of the same species, so we naturally get along, and we both have similar combat techniques. May be, we can do something on this mountain, that will be worth while. We both are skilled in combat, may be, we could ally ourselves together, and find some thing to do, rather wast skill and energy sparring with each other! What do you think? Any suggestions?"
Sargtlin heard the words, but didn't answer for a few minutes. He didn't usually work with anyone else, except his faithful Lupine companion Vhid.
"Perhaps I should, he and I could work together well and spread war farther abroad if he doesn't mind doing so." he thought, closing his eyes as he did. His natural reaction was to say no to the request, but he knew that an ally could prove useful, especially when both parties can get along well. Both of them being Drow, though different could still understand each other tolerably well.
"Agreed, Vencrest, I am willing to work with you if you wish. Other than spreading war abroad, I am not sure what we could do," he said, pausing briefly, "But we can think of something." Sargtlin finished looking back to the Drow.

Vencrest listened as his newly acquainted ally began to speak. "Agreed, Vencrest, I am willing to work with you if you wish. Other than spreading war abroad, I am not sure what we could do," he said, pausing briefly, "But we can think of something." Sargtlin finished looking back to the Drow. Vencrest smiled, the thought of 'War Abroad' pleasing him. Just the idea of slaughtering innocents brought him joy. But that would have to be for another time. Sargltin was right, there wasn't much they could do here. A desolate mountain wouldn't give them the resources to spread war. They needed to be in a town, or a village, that would be the ideal locations.
"You are correct, Sargltin," Vencrest said, looking at the other Drow. "We can not do much here, we will need to meet else where. I have a location in mind, but I fear it might be too populated." He drifted in thought for a moment, his eyes glazing over in deep thought. He shook his head, returning to reality, and said ", Yes, it will be fine. Meet me in the Tauri Woods. There will be a village nearby, and I feel that it will be a great location for Chaos." His mind drifted again. He snapped back into reality, and looked apologetically at the other Drow. "I'm sorry for spacing out on you, I find it hard not to get lost in thought on the subject of this village. You see, I managed to destroy it decades ago, and it was now rebuilt, and I find the very thought of it worrying. I just feel I have to go back, and destroy it again, but it has a lot of guards."
He continued to gaze at the other drow, shaking off his thoughts of weakness. "So it is decided, we will go to the Tauri woods, and spread havoc and destruction in the nearby towns." He turned, and said his final words to the Drow. "Meet me there, and be ready to kill." With that, he beckoned for Trekella, and the mounted Zekbel, the plasma dragon. The dragon's deep red eyes followed his movements like giant, animate rubies, watching his every move. His scale gave a ruby glow as well, reflecting the setting sun in the distance. He gave the signal to take off, and the dragon flew in the sky, headed towards the horizon beyond.
Sargtlin Olath - January 10, 2008 03:20 AM (GMT)
Sargtlin was interested immensely by this Drow who had now it seemed become an ally to him. Though he disliked it, he still needed allies, those who he could rely on. He much preferred to walk alone, but he knew that he wouldn't always be able to do his tasks alone. Sargtlin listened attentively to his new found ally's words.
"You are correct, Sargtlin, we can not do much here, we will need to meet else where. I have a location in mind, but I fear it might be too populated."
Sargtlin waited a moment, watching the Drow stand there before shaking his head and speaking again.
"Yes, it will be fine. Meet me in the Tauri Woods. There will be a village nearby, and I feel that it will be a great location for Chaos. I'm sorry for spacing out on you, I find it hard not to get lost in thought on the subject of this village. You see, I managed to destroy it decades ago, and it was now rebuilt, and I find the very thought of it worrying. I just feel I have to go back, and destroy it again, but it has a lot of guards."
Sargtlin nodded in acknowledgment of Vencrest's words.
"Agreed then, but when we meet there we will discuss our plan of attack, for if is heavily guarded then it will not be easy to make an upfront assault on this village. So that is where we will meet? Then I will be there." said Sargtlin to the Drow, smiling in devilish delight at the thought of perhaps even satiating his thought to be insatiable bloodlust. As he finished his words the Drow spoke to him again.
"So it is decided, we will go to the Tauri woods, and spread havoc and destruction in the nearby towns. Meet me there, and be ready to kill."
At the end of the Drow's words he turned away, beckoning to his Lupine companion and mounted his dragon mount.
"Very well, I look forward to it, Vencrest." he said, as he watched the Drow signal his dragon mount to fly into the sky. Sargtlin watched the dragon flying out of view in the horizon before he turned back towards the pathway that had led up to the training spot where he had such a fateful encounter with one of his own kind. Sargtlin was always surprised when he met creatures and people whom he could ally himself with, for it was very rare and he had had very few true allies. He enjoyed allies, for he found them to useful, one way or another. He started to walk along the path back down, beginning to make his long decent to the bottom of the mountain.
