Title: Relaxation On The Shores
Description: Private, Lalandria

Heath Hawthorne - November 1, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
Heath Hawthorne, a former mercenary, was walking along the shores of the Eastern Coast. His leather boots leaving a large mark in the sand after each step. He looked around with his one good eye, the other had been taken out in battle and only a leather patch covered where it was. His shaggy and untamed brown hair was flowing in the soft wind. Heath enjoyed the sea, he enjoyed the salty breeze, the vast amounts of water.
"But why exactly am I here today? There's lots of other things that I need to do instead, but I don't care right now." he thought as he kicked some of the sand, watching it being caught and taken by the wind. He sat down heavily on the white sand, looking out to the sea. He looked up at the seagulls that were flying over him.
"I was hoping that after I stopped being a mercenary, a sellsword, I might be able to have a slow peaceful life," he thought with a sigh, "But not so, not for me anyway." He picked up a shell that was lying next to him and tossed it into the waves of the sea being tossed onto the shore. Heath was always slightly surprised by the amount of noise on the shores, even when no other people were around to cause extra noise, the sound of the seagulls and the crashing waves was louder than he had thought years ago, before he went to the shores of the sea for the first time. He took a deep breath in, taking his time in letting it out, he felt relaxed, something very unusual for him. He laid his body back on the sand looking into the sky, then he closed his eyes to rest.

Lalandria - November 3, 2007 03:16 AM (GMT)
Lalandria wandered the shores of the eastern coast, letting memory and mind wander freely. She rarely allowed this, memory was mostly painful. The coast was calming, giving her one of the few times she looked back on happy memories, as few as they were.

She was barefoot and the light breeze played with her hair. Her skirt was flapping around her, restricting her movements but showing her frame to its full ability. She still looked lithe and graceful and seemed to dance across the sand. The beach seemed alone, quiet, peaceful, completely different than the city which she had been born and raised. It then, ofcourse, surprised her when she spotted a man laying in the sand, quite by himself.

Heath Hawthorne - November 4, 2007 01:55 PM (GMT)
Heath was thinking of his time as a mercenary, when he heard a noise farther along the shoreline. He quickly opened his eye and sat up, looking out where he thought he had heard the noise. He saw a woman down the shore.
"A woman? I wonder what she's doing here." he thought as he picked himself off of the sand, brushing off some sand that had stuck to his clothes.
"Hey there!" he shouted towards the woman, a smile on his face and his hand in the air waving at the figure.
"Perhaps someone to talk to. Or she's a demon in disguise just waiting to kill me." he thought, then he dropped his hand from the air. He waited to see what the female form would do. He was hoping that she was not a disguised demon, for he did not want to die just then. He slowly started walking towards her, leaving more marks of where he had walked in the sand. He saw that she had what appeared to him to be mostly brown hair, with some flecks of some other color or colors running through the brown hair, but he could not tell what the other colors were at the distance that was between them.
"I wonder what she's doing here anyway. Then again, why am I here anyway?" he thought to himself, wondering why exactly he was there, why he was not somewhere else, like in town doing the work that he was supposed to be doing. He felt the loose sand giving away some underneath his weight, each step feeling it give some.
"That would be rather annoying if a lot of sand gave way all at once. I really don't want to land on my face in the sand." he thought as he made his slow steps.

Lalandria - November 4, 2007 05:14 PM (GMT)
Lalandria slowed to a stop as the man stood and yelled hey there. He then came towards her and for a moment she wasn't sure what to do. It wasn't normal for her to have random men walk up to her in a friendly fashion unless it was a trick. She eyed the man as he moved closer, noting the covered eye, his muscled body, and height. If necessary she could take care of herself she decided. She put a large friendly smile on her face and waved. Who knew? Perhaps it wasn't a trick, maybe he just wanted to be friendly. Lalandria would believe that of people once she had proof and that rarely happened.

"Hello," she called back to him across the sand as he moved closer, her smile still on her face.

Heath Hawthorne - November 8, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
Heath saw that the girl stopped as he came towards her. He slowed his pace some, listening as she began to speak.

"Hello,"

He saw her smile as she spoke, but he felt that he had perhaps once again been to friendly, and trusting.
"Why in the world am I so friendly and trusting of so many, after what I've seen and done in the past? And now I have bounty hunters, assassins, and mercenaries on my tail, hired by various people who aren't pleased at what I did as a sell-sword. Think next time before you speak, or you might end up dead, you fool! Let's just hope that you don't end up dead this time." he thought, mentally berating himself for his carelessness. He knew that he was to trusting, but could never change the habit, even though he had the opposite habit while in the battles that he served in, having a hard time trusting his allies even.
"My foolishness of trusting people so much will get me killed someday, most likely sooner than later." he thought, keeping his eye on the girl. Then he turned his attention to the area around him, making sure that no one else was near, no one to hunt him down and kill him.
"Well, I've dug my grave this deep, I might as well not try to seem a total freak." he thought, hoping that the girl was just there like he was, not for any real reason, just because she felt like it.
"How are you?" he said to the girl, trying to sound friendly and kind, though he wasn't sure if he was or not.

Lalandria - November 9, 2007 04:12 AM (GMT)
Lalandria felt his eyes resting on her and felt the need to squirm. She did not like being the center of attention unless she put herself there to begin with. His eyes left her to scan the beach. For a moment she felt a moment of panic. Had she just walked into an ambush? This is why she usually stayed to the city where there was almost always plenty of witnesses. At this thought the moment of panic dropped and she felt like laughing at herself. Why would they ambush her, the woman with the well kept but worn clothes, hidden daggers, a trusty servicable lyre, and nothing else to her name to speak of? Yes, that would be very profitable. She felt her muscles relax and eyed the man again. Perhaps he was just scared of an ambush also? That still didn't explain his friendliness though. Look at that did he just acctually ask how she was? Well, she did not hear that often, it was a nice change but different. Anything different was suspiciouse.

"As well as can be, and you sir?" she asked, putting on all the manners she had. She rarely did this, because she was the way she was, but it was always better to be safe than sorry.

Heath Hawthorne - November 12, 2007 08:16 PM (GMT)
Heath heard the woman respond to his inquiry.

"As well as can be, and you sir?"

Heath was slightly taken back at the girl's manners, few paid any heed to manners anymore he had noticed, and fewer still when at the places he generally was.
"That's good to hear. I myself am doing quite well." he said in response.
"It seems like she is uneasy, or something else. She doesn't seem to be very pleased to be talking to me, not that that's anything new." he thought as he noticed the girl's movements and words, and how she said them.
"Another person who's unnerved by me? Figures, this posses the question, why do I even bother being friendly to people?" he thought, letting out a very quite sigh.
"No, it's gotten me a few friends, ones who are sometimes closer to me than I ever could have expected. But it's also almost gotten killed over and over again. I've been left beaten and left for dead, I've nearly had my head removed by multiple people. But I've also been saved because of it and because of other friendly people who helped to live. I can do that for someone else, and so I will not quit." he thought, reassuring himself that he was not completely foolish and stupid. He smiled, a friendly smile.
"My name is Heath, Heath Hawthorne. If you don't mind telling me, what is your name?" he asked the girl, kindly and telling her his name first, in an attempt to show that he did not have an evil intention.

Lalandria - November 13, 2007 01:31 AM (GMT)
She heard his sigh then saw his friendly smile. This Heath, as he said his name was, was different. That was putting it mildly to say the least. Maybe she should be friendlier, he really seemed like he wasn't going to try anything. She eyed him once more and decided to accept this until something changed.

"My name is Lalandria, but please call me Dria, it's shorter," Lalandria said.

The first time in this whole conversation Lalandria's smile was truly genuine. It was a bright happy smile that lit up her features.

Heath Hawthorne - November 16, 2007 04:04 AM (GMT)
Heath waited for a response, wondering if he had perhaps asked the wrong question. But he heard the girl talk to him.

"My name is Lalandria, but please call me Dria, it's shorter,"

Heath saw the girl's face light up as she smiled at him. He saw something very different in that smile than in her other smiles that she had had. It was brighter and happier, a genuine smile.
"Perhaps she isn't unnerved by me anymore, or was she in the first place?" he thought, the thought made him slightly happy, for very few reacted the way the girl before did, few ever gave him a genuinely friendly smile. It felt nice to him, a person except for his close friends that actually smiled at him and wasn't just acting.
"Dria you say? Well then, Dria, may I ask you something? Do you find my appearance, unnerving? If you decide to answer, then please answer completely honestly." he asked Lalandria, or Dria as she told him to call her.
"She's kind of strange herself, but I doubt as odd as me. But I wonder if she does find me to be unnerving, though, she seemed unnerved about something earlier, but I don't know what it was then. Perhaps she was afraid of, someone else? Or perhaps it was me, though she doesn't seem to be to afraid of me now." he thought, looking at the girl, still wondering why exactly she was there.
"If she's afraid of someone else, then I would imagine she would want to stay in cities, or away from everything. I personally prefer cities, because then it's easier to get food and drink. Plus I don't go completely insane and have no reason to live." he thought.

((OOC: Sorry about the lateness of my posts))

Lalandria - November 16, 2007 04:49 AM (GMT)
IC: Lalandria looked at him in surprise. Well, that was unexpected. Did his appearance unnerve her? Lalandria assesed him once more and decided that no, it was more the location that had freaked her out. It wasn't like she hadn't seen worse anyway.

"Well, no, not really," she said shaking her head.

"I've seen alot worse to tell you the truth," she said flashing him a smile.

"Why ask such an odd question?" she asked tilting her head to the left, with a questioning gaze on her face. Her hair fell over her shoulder and allowed a better view of her face and her expression.

OOC: Don't worry, we're all busy.
