Title: approaching
Devon - January 17, 2006 12:20 PM (GMT)
Devon, slong slender legs, moved her swiftly across the gravel that paved the path, even at this slow pace she ate up the ground, that was one of the advantages of being a centaur, it was quicker and easier to get from place to place.
and now she was here, in this place, approaching the little town of Estolad. She doubted anyon e here would need her services, she was a warrior, a mercenary, and a ranger, but that didn't stop her.
She was tired, and they might have somewhere dry and warm she could settle down for the night, and perhaps something to eat.
There it was. Estolad, and it was there that she would find the rest she needed.
So she approached.

He trudged through the gravel his iron shod boots grinding the rocks togther. He had done nothing but eat and sleap for 4 days. No one had crossed his path nothing had attacked him, nothing he was frustraited. Despite his eforts he had not learned the new spells he had wanted. If he could use a spell to make himself faster then no one would escape the cold bite of his axe should they deserve it.
As he walked so monotonusly along the path, shape of a a horse and rider was silueted againced the horison. He hated people who rode horses there hight above him gave them an air of supiriortiy over those beneath them. Not so the thaught bitterly.
However as he aproched the horse rider he relised that his eyes had mistaken him, it was infact a Centaur. it changed a lot, they were arogant but more often than not they had a right to be, or atleast to the majoroty of the people he encountered.
He jogged for a while to catch up, anything to lift his bordom he thaught.
"Hail Centaur." he said from her side, he only reached up to her horses legs, she litteraly towered above him.

"Hail centaur!"
Devon looked around, but failed to notice anyone on the path. then she remembered that not eveyone had the advantage of hight as she did, so she looked down, and sure enough there on the ground next to her was a dwarf.
"Good day friend dwarf" she said.
Devon looked down at the Dwarf, He looked travel worn, weary, so she guessed that like her, he had been on the road for some time.
The leather straps that crossed Devons back and hung by her sides, creaked as she bent to look down at the Dwarf who had addressed her, her two sword hung, one on each side, in easy reach should she need them.
She moved her hind quarters around so she could look directly at the Dwarf.

He looked up past his helm at the centaur. "My name is Snori... please dont laugh i do know what it sounds like the the human tounge, but what about you?" He asked as he walked around her and began to walk towards the tavern. He stopped and turned to wait for her to follow.
"I need a drink, what about you? care to join me?" He asked as he turned to the tavern, he realy needed a drink, anything just to have an excuse to sit down. walking quickly he aproched the door and opened it, kicking his boots againced the wall before entering, the dwarfs didnt care, they lived in it but the humanshad somting about mud in their homes and shops. He walked inside his boots now mud free and held the door open for the centaur.

"I'm Devon"
Devon looked at the tavern, it looked nice enough, but she didn't often like going into places like that, because far to often, there just wasn't enough room to manouver. She unlike so many other people in the realms, had hind quarters that were quite a bit longer than the average human.
Despite this Devon was thirsty, so she decided to follow the Dwarf into the Inn.
She waited while, the Dwarf, Snori cleaned his boots on the mat, Devonm stomped her feet a little to dislodge any mud or other nastys, but that was all she was able to do.
"Thank you" Devon said to the Dwarf as he held the door open for her.
Now all she had to do was go inside, and hope this place was built to accomodate Centaurs.
