Arda > Alulanta Falls > Dismissal

Title: Dismissal
Description: Open

Samuel - September 29, 2007 08:57 PM (GMT)
OOC: This probably makes a little more sense if you read my extended character description first.

The day was looking bleak for anyone who was hoping to enjoy the great outdoors. The sky was depressingly grey and the thunder that echoed through the forests and valleys gave the impression that someone was hammering on the skies, shaking the entire land of Arda in doing so. If the trees of the Mystic Woods could speak, undoubtedly they would tell you that this was the loudest thunder storm they had ever known. Though the storm was occurring over the Mystic Woods and the Alulanta Falls, you could even hear the feint echoes as far as Lómëdor and Estolad, many, many miles away.

The lake in the middle of the Alulanta Falls was being heavily blown by the wind, soaking the shore and every plant and animal on it. The wind was so powerful that even the falls themselves seemed to be falling at a rather obscure angle. Surrounding trees and bushes were becoming uprooted and one such tree ended up being lifted clean off the ground before being dropped in the middle of the lake.

With one last explosive roar of thunder, a bolt of lightning descends from the open heavens. And then another. And another. All three of them hit within eight feet of each other, just to the right of one of the biggest cliffs of the falls, on a small clear patch of earth, with just a couple of seconds between each strike. The strikes resulted in earth being sprayed up through the air, leaving large divots in the ground, which are left charred and smoking. These marks, however, are not the only thing left by the lightning strikes. A man is left laid on the ground, lying flat on his back with his arms extended at his sides and his legs together and perfectly straight. The three charred holes in the ground surround him, one at the end of each of his arms and one at the end of his legs, as though they are acting as a marker for his landing.

With these lightning strikes, no more thunder could be heard and the wind began to slowly die away. The man remained laying on the ground, motionless and silent. He was wearing plain black trousers and a black shirt, completely open and exposing a silver crucifix on his chest. His figure tall and slim, his hair red with blackened patches, his skin inhumanly pale and his facial features hauntingly hollow. The index finger of his right hand twitches slightly and then suddenly with very little warning, the man sits bolt upright, gasping for air. His eyes open and they glow a startling red for a few seconds before returning to their normal light blue. He continues to breathe heavily as he lifts his hands up to his face and stares at them, confusedly tilting his head. He opens his mouth, and then closes it quickly. He opens it once more and speaks quietly to himself in a light, if slightly sinister voice. ”I breath… I can touch and feel and I can hear and see.” He looks around at the waterfall to his left, his head still titled in amazement. ”I… I can smell the salt water. I…” He stopped talking and began to stand; he placed his hand down on one of the patches of molten earth and instantly shrieked in pain, pulling his hand away and instantly diving down towards the lake, plunging his hand into the water and gasping with relief.

He pulls his hand out of the water and turns, stumbling away from the water’s edge, tripping and slipping over tree roots and slippery rocks. He continues walking at an increasingly quick pace before dropping down on a grassy valley, a couple of hundred yards clear of the Alulanta Falls. He leans against a small boulder, looking up at the now virtually clear skies. ”This isn’t what I wanted. I wanted the best for everyone, that’s all. I didn’t do anything! One impure thought and you send me here? I didn’t want to come here! THIS ISN’T WHAT I WANTED!”
He looks down at his own legs bitterly and then looks around at the grassy plains. Beyond them, he can see the Mystic Woods, with its bizarre and unexplainable glow. He thought, even from here, he could see something soaring over the woods. He turns the other way and sees a slither of Lake Aelin with the now re-emerging sun shimmering off of it. He looks down at the burns on his right hand, his eyes becoming glazed over after a few seconds. Many minutes pass before he shows any further signs of life.

Very well. This is not what I wanted, but one most atone for his actions, and I will atone. Yes, I will more than make up for my actions. No, this may not be what I wanted, but I will make do. ” he drags himself to his feet and stares at a spot on the ground some five feet ahead of him. An inferno of flame erupts on the spot and the monstrous figure of a flame-laden demon, summoned from the depths of hell. ”My name, Demon, is Samuel Cydan. Speak, creature.” spoke the red headed man. The demon before him let out a rasping, snarling sound but Samuel cut across him instantly. ”No Black Speech. Adûnaic, if you please. I may have descended far, but not far enough to speak that most foul of languages.”

The creature’s hollowed out eyes examined the summoner before him, before chuckling darkly. ”But you have fallen far enough to summon me, eh? An intriguing thing is morality, good sir. Now, why did you summon me? Samuel stared back briefly before turning around and walking forward’s, beckoning the demon to follow him. ”I do not like to do battle, nor am I near prepared at the moment. In this journey, you will protect me should anyone launch an attack, as they most presumably will; this is a malicious and violent world, perhaps more so than yours, demon. We travel to Estolad, where I shall rest and prepare myself for the true journey that I am about to embark on.

Samuel stops and looks at the magnificent downhill scenery ahead of him. The wonderfully green valley, the enchanting Mystic Wood, and in the great distance, the seemingly impossibly large Misty Forest. ”The truly grueling journey… of life in Arda."

Alchemy - September 29, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
Storms, why do they always hit at the most inconvenient time and in the most inconvenient place? Alchemy had only come here to relax and possibly catch up on some sleep, but she couldn't relax let alone sleep with this wind howling at her and threatening to throw her off her feet. She huddled behind a thick oak tree to try and avoid the wind, ignoring the warning creaks that the wind was possibly about to tear the oak out of the ground. Alchemy's long red hair was being blown about her face, making it impossible to see where she was going anyway, and for that matter she had her eyes shut tight against the debris being flung everywhere by the storm.

Just a bit of peace and quiet, a nice place to relax, have a snooze and possibly meet somebody to befriend and have a laugh and a giggle along the way. But no; Reality was cruel to the point that it throws the wrong weather into a situation that called for the complete opposite. There was an old saying from where Alchemy came from: 'if something can go wrong, then nine times out of ten it will and is most likely to go wrong at the most inconvenient moment. Alchemy supposed that this was one of those times, perhaps the gods enjoyed spoiling people's day plans for their own amusement, she supposed the land of the gods must get pretty boring especially with all that omni floating about the place.

Realizing her mind was wandering from the situation at hand, Alchemy clutched herself tighter, attempting to throw off the cold wind launching itself at her. The last straw came when the air was lit up but three bolts of lightning striking nearby. Alchemy proceeded to launch herself forwards and cover her head with her hands, shaking violently.
"Pleasestop, Pleasestop, Pleasestop, Pleasestop, Pleasestop," she muttered rapidly.
To her astonishment the storm died out soon afterwards, and soon cleared into a bright sunny day. Alchemy crawled out from under her crude shelter, gazing up at the sky.

She blinked at the light the sun gave off. Standing up Alchemy began giggling softly.
"Hehe, very funny," she muttered under her breath then suddenly raised her voice rather threateningly "next time make a racket when I'm not around!" She yelled skywards.
She caught her breath and calmed down, looking up and down trying to decide which way to go next.
"Hm, now what should I do next?" She asked herself "I don't suppose there'll be anybody about, not after that storm."
She scratched her head whilst thinking, tapping her foot at the same time.

Since Alchemy hadn't been expecting the storm, she wasn't exactly dressed for the weather: She was wearing a baggy, black silk shirt with short sleeves and long trousers that trailed along the ground for a bit behind her. Despite hiding her shoulders and forearms, the black collar about Alchemy's neck was still visible, apparently burnt onto her by the edges.

Starting suddenly she looked about, hearing faint voices in the distance.
"Oh, there are people here!" She exclaimed and hastened to follow the sound.
The path lead her to a grassy valley not too far away from the falls, with a good view over most of the land surrounding the area.
"Wow, that's beautiful," she muttered to herself absently "And to think there was a storm just now, I might actually enjoy this day after all."

Ryradine Alyan - September 30, 2007 04:57 AM (GMT)
A storm. Of all the things that had to happen as Ryra was crossing a rather watery part of Arda, it had to be a storm. The gods must enjoy tormenting her. At the moment, the fire elemental was huddled behind a tree, trying to shield herself from the spray of water that was coming from the Alulanta Falls. She winced slightly as a few drops of water hit the bare skin of her cheek, steam rising up as the fire that she was made of quickly dried the small drops, hoping that the tree wouldn't be uprooted and end up in the lake.

It better not rain, she thought angrily, raising her eyes skyward. You hear that?!?

Apparently, the gods did, but instead of rain they sent three large lightning bolts. Oh wonderful, perhaps there would be a forest fire then. That was much more preferable to rain, at least in the fire elemental's point of view. She shielded her eyes from the sudden light, covering her head as the blast scattered a little more water.

As suddenly as it had come, it was over. The wind died down and the clouds broke, revealing the blue sky. At least it hadn't rained, although Ryra was finding herself a little bit disappointed that there hadn't been a forest fire. She got up, groaning slightly as she touched her damp and windswept hair.

"Ugh! I hate water!" she said, trying to smoothen down her hair and dry it off at the same time. Fire spread from her fingertips, and with a few crackling sounds, the water evaporated from her hair, becoming a wisp of rising steam. She wiped the remainder off her cheek before stepping out behind the tree to see what was left of the falls.

Now this was odd, there was a man there, right where the lightning had struck. As Ryra watched, he got up, shouting at the heavens about something. The fire elemental's hand went to her longsword as she watched him.

Just my luck, a crazy man... she thought, wondering if he hadn't been hit by the lightning a little too hard. His hand looked to be burned, probably from the lightning or from touching the heated earth next to him. Honestly, to be burned from a fire that small? The creatures of Arda were really frail.

Then again, they handle water better than I do... she thought, watching as he summoned a demon. Ryra winced as she heard the language the demon first attempted to speak--the Black Speech, the cursed tongue of the demons and the foulest language known on Arda. So this man was summoning demons, was he? That certainly seemed like trouble.

Ryra turned her head, hearing another voice in the distance. She watched as a woman came into view--human by the looks of it, staring at the falls. The fire elemental sighed, turning to her.

"If I were you, I wouldn't go out there," said Ryra, "There's a crazy man talking to his summoned demon."

And a hell of a lot of water... she added silently. The human probably wouldn't mind much though. Humans had a thing for water.

Samuel - September 30, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
Samuel’s eyes narrowed suspiciously as he heard the sound of a voice, but he continued to walk with the summoned demon trailing behind him, ignoring the voice. He wished to avoid any confrontation and with any luck, the person who had spoken had not seen him or the demon in tow. This, however, was an optimistic thought, as though the voice was coming from the more sheltered areas surrounding the Alulanta falls, he and his minion were walking through the bare valleys. His desperation to get somewhere where he could rest and think had cost him his guile, and he hadn’t even considered travelling through more sheltered areas.

He continued to walk for a few more moments until a second, different voice spoke. This was too much to ignore and a streak of unexplained paranoia broke over him. ”These creatures stalk me, prowl in the shadows and lay in wait. It is no coincidence they are here! They were sent to me, sent to destroy me. I will not sit back and let myself be victimised by the thuggery of this world.” These were the thoughts that crossed his mind in the seconds after hearing the second voice. He stopped suddenly and spun on the spot to the demon he summoned and began to utter orders in a quiet voice, so that prying ears could not hear. ”You will go on ahead to Estolad, in darkness and silence. You will not draw attention to yourself and you will avoid confrontation at any cost. If someone spots you, continue on unless you are physically provoked, in which case you will destroy your attacker. You will be merciful and kill them quickly. When you get to Estolad, you will remain outside the village, and you will continue to keep yourself hidden by any means necessary until I arrive. Do you understand?

The demon simply grunts coldly and prowls off in the direction of the Mystic Woods without looking back at his summoner. Samuel turns in the direction of the Alulanta falls, trying to discover the source of the voices. The edge of the valley was not entirely surrounded by trees and bushes, but there were undoubtedly enough to stay hidden in the midst of. He walked forwards, back in the direction of the falls and the surrounding trees. He saw nothing and assumed they were either further down the valley, next to the falls, or they were very well hidden indeed. Or perhaps, with a sinking feeling of realisation, Samuel speculated that maybe his senses were simply not up to scratch. Maybe they were closer than he thought; maybe he simply couldn’t see well enough, couldn’t hear well enough and simply couldn’t feel their presence well enough. It would, unquestionably, take time to adjust to Arda and all its implications. The thought occurred to him in this moment that maybe these people hidden by darkness could prove to be a good thing.

”Remain hidden no longer. I mean you no harm, and I would hope you likewise. My name is Samuel, and I am in need of assistance. I am not strong enough to fight or to defend myself at all and I need someone to accompany me to Estolad so I may rest. The creature I summoned, as I am sure you saw, was nothing but a cruel and merciless demon. When it heard you talk, it wished to make an attempt on your life, callously and without reason, and so I sent it away. It was not what I wished to summon, but all that I had the strength to. I plead for your help, people of Arda. Help me flee to Estolad so I may restore myself to my proper conditioning. Reveal yourselves!”

Samuel peers around the valleys and forests, awaiting any sign of movement.

Alchemy - October 1, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
Alchemy carried on gazing ahead of her, mystified by the landscape ahead of her and absently spinning a lock of hair around one finger. The scene seemed to give her a sense of peace, she had never truly agreed with most human views of domination and development, given the choice she would rather she was some sort of animal, probably a rabbit of a dear, living each day without a care in the world. In her absent minded state she ran a finger over the black collar burnt onto her skin, and suddenly seemed to snap out of a trance. She opened up the palm of her hand and gazed at it, she was wondering suddenly if she really was a human, she certainly looked like it from a distance, but not many humans have slitted pupils, fangs of any size and certainly none have stuff burnt on to them, well the collar and the arm bands weren't natural but still, she felt sure there was a reason for it all.

Hearing noises nearby her she looked about, spotting somebody else standing nearby her, Alchemy's mood lightened immediately for the pure fact she had someone to talk to, no matter what following conversation would turn out to be.
"Meh, so what?" She answered having only been half listening, she'd just about caught the word 'crazy, "every bodies weird in some way or another, give him a break."
She took a closer look at this stranger, finding her appearance rather odd for some reason, it was almost the same feeling when she was gazing at nature.
"Err, are you like, a Dryad or something?" She asked "cause I got this funny.....Well," she paused, tapping her foot and folding her arms whilst attempting to think of a decent word to use "feeling? Meh, too simple. Anyway are you something like, elemantel thingy..." She stopped, realizing she wasn't making any sense. "I'm Alchemy, nice to meetchya!" She said, acting as though her previous sentence had never even been thought of.

She looked up again when the sound of the voice from before spoke, calling to her, or them or whatever it was calling to. She stopped and listened, finding it hard to hear the voice from over here.
"Gee, sure are a lot of people here," she muttered "specially after that storm, speaking of where'd it go?" The question wasn't being aimed at the stranger, nor the voice; it was merely something Alchemy asked herself in order to keep her wonderment at full whenever she was bored and needed something to ponder about.

Ryradine Alyan - October 1, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
Ryra glanced at the other woman as she talked, frowning slightly. It was obvious that the human...or whatever she was...had not heard a single thing she said, save for maybe the word 'crazy'.

"I didn't say that 'cause he was crazy," said Ryra, somewhat angrily, "But hey, that's what I get for warning people about a summoned demon hanging around."

She glanced back at the scene, watching as the strange man sent the demon off somewhere. From this distance, she couldn't hear him say exactly where, so for all she knew he was sending the demon around to kill them or something. She frowned, keeping a hand on her longsword but turning back to the woman as the demon disappeared from view.

"Nevermind, demon's gone, so I guess it's all clear now," she said.

Ryra frowned as she listened to the girl's comment about her being a dryad. People always seemed to mix up her race with something else. This wasn't the first time someone had mistaken her for a nymph. Most people thought she was human though, and one unfortunate person had gone so far as to call her a water elemental! Imagine that! A water elemental?!? Ryra would die before she turned into one of them.

"Yeah, I'm an elemental," she said, "A fire elemental, mind you. The next person that calls me a water elemental is gonna get punched really hard."

She glanced at the girl, noting that for the most part, she appeared human. There was just something about her that didn't quite seem entirely human. However, since Ryra could not put her finger on what it was, she assumed that the woman was human.

"And you?" she asked, "Human, right?"

She had no problem with humans. In fact, she had even been summoned by one, but she would never understand them. They seemed to do things for absolutely no reason at all, and then the next day they would be completely serious. It was confusing, to say the least. She listened as the woman introduced herself as Alchemy.

"Ryradine Alyan," said Ryra, "Ryra for short. Nice meeting you, Alchemy."

She's got a weird name... thought Ryra as she was talking to Alchemy, Alchemy...just like the science alchemy.

Ryra didn't know much about alchemy herself, but she had heard of it. Her eyes turned towards the strange man as he began speaking again, this time towards them. She frowned throughout his long speech. Why were people always so dramatic? He could have just said: "I don't want to hurt you. I need someone to help me get to Estolad. Help me." and everything would have been finished. She frowned, stepping out of her hiding place.

"Sheesh, how dramatic," she said, frowning "Almost makes me not want to help you out, uh, Samuel, was it? The name's Ryra, fire elemental. Yeah, I was summoned once, just like that demon of yours, but, heh, I'm on my own now, so..."

Samuel - October 2, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
As her conclusion of Samuel’s over-dramatisation finished, a smile appeared across Samuel’s face. He chuckled slightly and took a few more steps forward to make it easier to talk. The smile on his face could not be perceived as suspicious or sinister, for it was a genuine smile. He did want to see the Ardians, speak with them, and travel with them. He wished to learn more about them, particularly these Ardians, if his suspicions of them were true. He wanted to know why they were here and who would send them. The Ainur certainly would not send him here only to then send warriors of Arda to kill him; but on the other hand, no one in Arda knew of his arrival.

His smile briefly turned to a frown as he realised this; maybe he was being paranoid? But he had never been paranoid before, so why would he be so easily alarmed now? He shook these thoughts off, and decided to speak with them before he made any decisions. Her casual behaviour would either suggest that he was mistaken with his presumptions or that these would-be attackers are much cleverer than he had anticipated.

”I must apologise for my dramatic tone; it is just the way I was brought up. Not to mention it is always wise to be polite, and perhaps slightly dramatic, when talking to an unknown quantity. So hello, Ryra, fire elemental; I am sorry you are alone now. It is a never a nice thing to be... trust me, I know. It is my upmost pleasure to meet you.” He nods his head politely and continues to walk forward, his hands intertwined behind his back and a quaint smile still on his face. After a few more feet, he sees Alchemy gazing towards Ryra absent-mindedly. ”Hello, miss. So, will either of you assist me get to Estolad? I need very little from you, just insurance incase of any dangers. There are many threats in Arda and I am not competent to deal with them currently.”

He stops on the spot, some five feet away from Ryra and ten or so feet to the right of Alchemy, looking between the two of them, his grin faded slightly but present nonetheless. As he waits for an answer, he realises that his shirt is still open and begins doing up the buttons from the bottom up. ”I must apologise for my unorganised state. It has just been one of those days, I suppose… but I’m sure, with a little help, the day will pass much quicker.” He smiles again and continues to look between the two people in front of him.

Alchemy - October 2, 2007 08:28 PM (GMT)
"Yeah, nice to meet ya'," Alchemy replied "and yes I'm human."
Alchemy sighed and raised her hands behind her head as though she was leaning back on them. She gazed up at the sky again, wondering again where the storm had gone all of a sudden and where it had come from in the first place.
Weird, she thought I've never known a storm calm down so quickley.
She looked down again as the stranger that had spoken before approached, a grin on his face. Alchemy's own face lit up, she didn't mind what kind of company she had but the more the merrier.

She giggled slightly as he apoligized for speaking in a dramatic tone, whilst using the exact same dramatic tone as before.
Hehe, this guy speaks like some sort of angel, I wonder if he's related, she thought.
"Hi, I'm Alchemy, Alchemy Testerossa," she gave a short wave "and less of the 'miss' thanks, I'm only 17."
She giggled slightly, taking a good look at the stranger as he did up his shirt. The first thing she noticed was the crucifix around his neck, she would admit this caught her curiosity but wasn't about to ask, since it would most likely lead to a conversation ending in a question about her own collar, and she wasn't too keen to try and explain that right now.

"Oh, you're going to Estalod, right?" She said, suddenly remembering "do you know if they have an inn or something there, I'm sort of looking for a job and everything."
She smiled brightly at Samuel, obviousley having missed the 'There are many threats in Arda and I am not competent to deal with them currently' part of Samuel's sentence.

Samuel - October 2, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Samuel remained quiet while the young woman in front of him spoke, in a slightly hyper and over excited manner. This tone rather eased Samuel’s worries and paranoia. She seemed in his judgement to be a kind and decent being; one of the few that Arda had in his opinion. He was glad that he was lacking power, or he may have reacted aggressively to their appearance and he would truly have disliked to kill an innocent person. He noticed her staring at the small silver symbol on his neck, but this didn’t really bother him. His worries over Alchemy had eased completely, for now at least. And if Alchemy was no danger to him, presumably Ryra wasn’t either.

”The term “miss”, is no representation of your age, but a representation of your mannerisms. I believe every honourable lady deserves an honourable title. If you would prefer I simply called you Alchemy, then that is fine.” He looked over to Ryra with a slightly enquiring glint in his eye, before smiling again and turning back to Alchemy. ”Or perhaps Miss Testerossa? Hm… names, they are really quite irrelevant, don’t you think?” He turned away and began to walk slowly, before stopping some six or seven feet away and turning.

”And yes, I believe Estolad has an Inn. It is where I will be looking to get board. I assume they have rooms to let, but I can’t be sure until I get there. Who knows, perhaps if you get that job, you will be the kind employee that serves me? He remained on this spot for a few moments, in a minor bout of awkward silence, which wasn’t really appreciated by Samuel, who was slightly lost in thought as he stared down at the ground. Ryra and Alchemy merely stared at each other and then back to Samuel with his glazed over expression, before he finally broke the silence. ”And after my stay in Estolad, I would like to travel to the Sanctuary and then I must pay a trip to the Temple of Life. I… I have a prayer to make. “ He nodded at his own words as he finished them, before looking up with a smile on his face once more.

He once again turned his back on them and began to walk away. ”So!” he shouted over his shoulder, ”Are you coming or not?” He chuckled to himself slightly, and with his back to them, that tinge of redness appeared in his usually blue eyes once more. He was blissfully unaware of the slightly demonic appearance that had briefly overwhelmed him. It was gone within seconds and he continued on, awaiting to see if his potential travelling colleagues would follow him.

OOC: If you two want to continue this, I think one more post by each of you just to show you are going with me and then I'll probably start a topic in the Estolad forum. If you don't feel like continuing this, that's fine too.

Ryradine Alyan - October 2, 2007 10:56 PM (GMT)
Ryra frowned slightly as Samuel apologized for his dramatic tone...in an equally dramatic tone. She didn't see the need for all the drama, but she guessed that that was how he had been brought up. The fire elemental bit down the surge of annoyance that rose up in her, remembering at the last moment to control her temper.

She looked him over once he admitted that he was not competent enough to get to Estolad alone, finding that he was right. There weren't normally many creatures between here and Estolad, but she did know of a few that popped out when people least expected them to. There was also the threat of bandits of course, which was there whenever anyone traveled between cities on Arda.

The fire elemental couldn't help but be a little suspicious when he mentioned that it had been an unorganized day. She noticed that even though he had been right in the center of the storm, he didn't seem to be affected by it at all...not to mention the demon summoning, which was never a good sign, and the fact that he had just appeared out of nowhere.

Something's not right about this guy... thought Ryra as Samuel and Alchemy began to talk. She didn't voice her thoughts out loud though, preferring to watch and see what was going to happen. If anything happened, she would be ready with her longsword.

She listened as he talked about his plan to visit the Sanctuary and the Temple of Life afterwards. Although she wasn't quite sure what Sanctuary he meant, she had a sneaking suspicion that he was talking about the Sanctuary of the Angels. So was he an angel then? He didn't look very...angelic. A fallen angel, perhaps? That just made things a little more complicated.

She watched as he walked away, before turning to them and asking if they would be coming to Estolad with him. Ryra felt a moment of indecision. If she went, who knew what would happen, but if she didn't, then for all she knew, this man--angel--whatever, could die along the way and she would feel responsible for it. She decided to go.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming." she said, walking over to him.

If her suspicions were unfounded, then she had nothing to worry about. But, if she was on to something, then he would discover that he might have bitten off more than he could chew.

After all...what's that human saying? Oh, right. Play with fire, and you might get burned.

Alchemy - October 3, 2007 05:21 PM (GMT)
Alchemy gave Samuel a blank look, she wasn't irritated by the way he spoke but she did find it weird when conducting a conversation. Instead of voicing this however she merely frowned and scratched her head again, wondering exactly how many people this stranger would actually have met.
"Err, yeah Alchemy will do fine, thanks," she muttered "miss makes me sounds too mature."
She sighed a bit, she didn't like talking to people using a polite tone of voice since she assumed they expected her to be polite back and she just wasn't the sort to use manners quite to readily.

Her thoughts tailed off to the point that she didn't notice that Samuel was turning and walking away, at least not until he called back to them and the fire elemental answered.
"Huh? Oh, yeah! Wait up!" She called back.
She hastened to follow them, having found people to talk to after a storm like that she wasn't about to throw away the opportunity to get to know the only people in the immediate area. She liked making friends with people no matter who they were, it was sort of like a hobby of hers, collecting a wide range of interesting people who she could get to know closely, the more unique the better she wanted to be friends with them.

Due to this aspect of life she often found herself taking wrong turns in her relationships and making friends with rather untrustworthy people, not something ordinary people considered a smart move. Alchemy tended to ignore them though, the way she saw it the whole point of life is to enjoy it as much as you can and befriend everyone possible, even if somebody hated her guts she'd still feel comfortable around them. Because of this it was unlikely that she shared Ryra's suspicions about Samuel, he could summon a ten foot tall black demon from the depths of the underworld for all she cared.
