Title: Why People Should Never Drink

The Drital Qu'ellar Pub was not the best place on Arda. In fact, it was one of the worst places on Arda. The pub was famous for having the most number of drunken brawls in the city and was known as one of the least respectable businesses in the capital. Situated right in the middle of the most crime-ridden parts of Lomedor, and filled with unsavory types day in and day out, it was hardly an ideal place for anybody of celestial heritage to stay.
...But try telling that to a certain Ruri Ishimura.
At the present time, the half-angel was currently sitting at a table near the corner of Drital Qu'ellar, a half-finished mug of ale in her hand. Looking down at the glass, Ruri couldn't remember if this had been her third or fourth mug that evening. Outside, a storm raged, and had Ruri been in her right mind, she would have been a little worried about how to get back to the Wilwarin Inn before her sister noticed that she was gone.
Unfortunately, Ruri was no longer in her right mind. She grinned in a rather un-half-angel like manner, downing the rest of her mug. Hah, who had Yuki been kidding? She wouldn't get drunk. There was no way she would get drunk. She was still in complete control of her sesnes...uh, her senses. A little bit of the alcoholic drink escaped from her mug, falling onto her clothes. By now, she wasn't sure if she had actually drunk the beverage or if she was absorbing it through her skin.
But she wasn't drunk...no, she couldn't be drunk. After all, Yuki had only been paranoid. She didn't get drunk that easily, now did she? Ruri got up, swaying unsteadily on her feet as she grabbed the table for support. Now that was odd. When did the pub start swaying? Perhaps the storm had blown so hard that they were now stranded out in the the middle of the ocean? Most likely. Perhaps the moment she stepped out of the door she'd see a mermaid...oh, a merman? Well, whatever, and then she would swim with them.
But you can't swim, Ruri... thought the half-angel to herself.
Oh, that was right. She couldn't swim. Then she couldn't swim with the mermaids. She giggled in a rather drunken manner, leaning on the table. All right, so maybe she was drunk, but it had been a long time since she found herself in this situation. After all, the last time this had happened to her had been many years ago...
All right, so maybe it had just been a year ago...within this year...a few months ago...last month...well, it was a long time ago at any case. Taking a few unsteady steps forward, Ruri slipped...or rather, the floor slipped out from under her. Bad floor. At any case, she did fall forward and bump into someone. And obviously she had not bumped into anybody. Someone had decided to bump into her. Yeah, that must have been it.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" she said, her voice slurred from the alcohol.
Alchemy - October 1, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
Storms again, Alchemy was having a very bad time with the weather lately, so much so that she could swear that whichever god or goddess controlled it had something against her. Originally Alchemy had come here looking for a job, the pub looked pretty promising from the outside and Alchemy never really paid too much attention to detail, however one look over the current customers and their behavior and she turned right around to go back outside. It was at this point that she noticed the storm overhead and immediately decided to take the smelly but dry pub over the pouring rain.
So as a result, Alchemy ended up stuck in here with no better place to go and wasting what little money she had on drinks she didn't even know the name of, she usually just pointed and guessed. Right now there were about three empty mugs in front of her and one half full one in her hand, the other half currently sitting on the floor. At the moment though, from Alchemy's perspective there was something like 11 mugs in front of her for some reason, and she honestly didn't remember growing that extra arm, she supposed it must come free with the drink.
She leaned back on her chair with the intent of pouring the rest of the drink down her throat, she didn't even remember what it was anymore but the bright side was she'd never asked in the first place. Alchemy had never really had alcohol before and wasn't really sure why everything seemed to be multiplying with an odd wavy effect, the most amazing thing was most of these things were translucent. Alchemy made a note to ask the table about the see through legs and how to get them in case she ever needed an extra pair.
She blinked drink out of her eyes, suddenly realizing that one of the three mugs above her had just thrown its drink in the wrong section of her face, she tossed it aside with the other two without waiting for its plea for innocence, ignoring the loud noise of it smacking off the back of somebodies head.
"Damnit, stay still," she murmured, drooling a bit.
She leaned back a little too far and the chair toppled over, causing her to smack her head on the floor, thus the rest of the drink from before getting absorbed into her hair, turning a small patch of it murky crimson.
"Sonova...!" Alchemy bolted upright, rubbing her head "who threw that!"
Darius - October 2, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
Ah, the Drital Qu'ellar Pub: Where the scum of the world congregate, get drunk, and punch the crap out of each other. It was truely a place where Darius felt at home. Even though he rarely drank alchohol, he was in a bit of an adventerous and, dare I say it, happy mood on this particular day. Normally, the Shapeshifter would be seen stalking somebody in the form of a couger, or taking on the form of a certain mayor's chief advisor, subsequently plunging the entire town into chaos. Today, though, he wore a smile. Not the normal smirk, but a genuine smile that a normal person may wear after... say... getting a promotion. Darius wore his smile because, first of all, he recently mangled his latest opponent in a short battle; and second of all, he loved to watch people scrambling around in bad weather. In fact, as these thoughts ran through his mind, he watched a young, redhead girl enter the bar, turn to leave, and then return to sit at a table.
It was fairly obvious that she was a lightweight. After only three beers she was pretty much wasted. It amused Darius to watch this girl pour alchohol down her throat, even though most of it ended up on the floor. He loved to watch people lose control. Even though it was far more fun when he was causing the loss of self restraint, it was still interesting to see how people acted when alchohol was influencing their every move.
Finally, the girl toppled over backwards. She yelled something at nobody in particular, apparently under the impression that somebody threw the floor at her. It was here when he decided to slide his way into the situation. His manipulation skills were rusty, and he needed practice, even though a drunk person may be a little to easy to influence.
Darius walked up to the girl, but on his way, he bumped into another, rather drunk, girl.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" said the girl in a slurred voice.
Darius's eyes flashed, but he quickly regained his composure, remembering the character he was playing at the moment.
"Terribly sorry," he said quickly, and continued over to the red headed girl. He reached her and extended a hand down to her.
"Need some help?" he asked.

((OOC: Sorry for the late reply. Been busy with school and stuff. Anyway, on with the fight!))
CRASH!
The mug thrown by Alchemy quickly hit Ruri in the back of the head. The half-angel stumbled forward, grabbing onto the table for support. So, the pub was now throwing mugs at her were they? Or maybe they were the mermaids? Either way, she didn't like it. It only made things harder with the floor spinning around.
"Damn it!" cursed Ruri in a drunken slur, rubbing the back of her head. The mug had bounced off her head and shattered on the floor, not giving her much of an injury except for a bruise and the fact that her silver hair was now stained in alcohol.
She whipped around as quickly as she could without falling over. This whipping around was quite hard with the Pub in the middle of the ocean, after all. Her eyes landed on a red haired girl now lying on the floor in the direction the mug had come from. Wait...two red-haired girls? It was very possible. Were they twins too, just like she and Yuki were?
The half-angel reached for her katana, her hand soaring through thin air as she felt around about two inches away from her actual katana's hilt. Since when had her katana decided to move anyway? Great, even her sword was ganging up on her. She grabbed onto the hilt of her sword, mentally scolding her katana for changing its position without telling her.
Crazy swords... thought Ruri as she tried to draw her katana, but ended up having the hilt slip from her grasp as she pulled, Why won't they stop moving around?!?
Finally having enough, she pulled the entire katana, sheath and all, out of her belt, brandishing it at the twin headreds...redheads...whatever. She fought to point her sheathed katana straight at the girl on the floor, but found that it seemed to want to point directly to the right. Scolding her sword again mentally, she held it in place.
"Which one of you threw that?!?" she asked, pointing it at the girls. Her vision cleared slightly and both girls began joining together, then splitting apart again. So were they one girl or two? And what kind of illusion was this? Her eyes fell on the man he had walked into, pointing her sheathed blade at him.
"Was it you?!?" she asked.
Her instincts screamed at her to back off as her Detect Evil ability began working, but she ignored it. She had been feeling strange all night. Perhaps it was the storm? Yeah, that was it! It had to be the storm, because there was no way that Ruri could be drunk! And there was no way that majority of the people in the pub just might be evil. They were just people like her trying to get away from annoying siblings or whatever, weren't they?
Alchemy - October 4, 2007 06:32 AM (GMT)
Alchemy's head was throbbing where the ground had struck it, whoever did that was extremely careless and she made a note to find out who it was later.
"Damned pub, no respect at all," she said through gritted teeth.
A rather muffled voice spoke nearby her, she looked up noticing a man apparantly made of jelly, well maybe if he'd stop wobbling and stay in the same place like a good little stranger she wouldn't complain so much, but watching people when they do this is really irritating.
"need a what? Huh?" She blinked up at the jellyman, wondering what the heck he was going on about "oh, a hand. No thanks, I've got my own."
She flopped backwards, settling for lying on the floor whilst she waited for it to sit still, what didn't help was the fact that the cieling had decided to join in, the only thing infront of her that wasn't moving like a demented fish was the jellyman, but he was moving enough on his own to compensate anyway.
In the end Alchemy sat up and grabbed another mug off the table before tossing it behind her, hearing it bounce of the wall. That'll show him. She looked about again, this time noticing a new person walking in her direction, a jelly girl this time, she supposed it must be some sort of gathering of jelly people. Alchemy wondered what they tasted like. As a result she ended up biting the jelly man's outstretched fingers, they tasted disgusting and she immediatly spat them out.
"Eugh, damn!" She spat on the ground, trying to get rid of the jellyman's taste "you taste disgusting. And for God's sake stay still, you're making me dizzy!"
