Title: Search in the Sands
Description: Private: Pendragon and Nuada
Unshadowed Fighter - September 10, 2007 03:49 AM (GMT)
"Go into the desert and find the Sky Tower." Yoro trudged on through the sand. This had all started when Yoro walked through Estolad. A messenger appeared offering a reward to obtain the Sky Crystal from a tower in the desert. Yoro declined, but then he said he'd get help, so Yoro reconsidered.
He left Crystallica in the stables, then set out for the desert. And here he was. He regretted his choice now. Yoro was crawling across the sands. He didn't know how much farther he could go. Then, he decided to find the tower with his golden eyes. He closed his eyes, took in a breath, then opened them. He looked around. Apparently, the tower was only feet away. It seemed the tower was invisible! Yoro got up and ran over, then dashed up to the door. He pushed it open, then walked into the room, which was very cool.
It was completely stone. Yoro had to climb to the 11th floor. He was warned about several traps and monsters lurking about. He took one step very carefully. Nothing happened. He relaxed, then continued to walk. Bad mistake. One of his steps pushed a tile into the ground. A boulder dropped from the ceiling behind him. "How did that happen?" he asked. Yoro took off running. Several shots were fired from the sides of the wall. Yoro grabbed onto a rope that lead up to the second floor and began to climb. SNAP! He fell right back down. "Winged Warrior!"
Wings sprouted from his back. Yoro flapped his wings and jumped up to the next floor. He began to fly off down this floor.
Arthur Paendrag Tanreall - September 11, 2007 01:32 PM (GMT)
" Go into the hotlands and search for the tower that was once the palace of the skies." That was what the man had said and Arthur had not belived him at first but the man told him somethign very few knew about besides himself. The man told him what the dragon emblem on his right arm meant. So Arthru had decided to go into the dester as the man said. It had not taken long being a half-drgaon he had flown straight from Lomedor to hear. He had not see then tower yet but he knew it was here. He felt its power, he felt its call. According to legend their was a great crystal created by a powerful wizard that had impued it with certain powers and with this power anyone could change the world for either good or evil. He knew the legend hsi father had tuahgt him it and he knew it for true, for in the back of his mind their was a knowlegde of its existence, it wasn't his ofcourse bur it was a dragons knowledge. FOr every year he aged, he aged in dragon knowledge a hundred years.
He soon found tracks and knew someone was here possibly also looking for the tower. He smiled and knew the man would probably die of thrist while Arthur woudl stay fresh. He was a half-dragon after all, he had felt worse heat than this at one time. He did not follow the tracks but merely the precense of pwoer that he felt and soon came to a place where the tracks ended and the call of power was stronger than ever. He sighed and said," Well you only live once". He went forward and soon entered a cool tower that was ornantely built. It was beutiful but without people in it, it looked in disrepair. He heard a stone fall somewhere in the distance and knew someone was in here and had activated one of the towers many traps.
He climbed the stairs and soon got to the 10th floor and a monster burst out of the wall and came ta Arthur. Arthur drew his blade and he took the monsters blow and fell two flights of stairs and the monster lay dead on top him his blade sticking through his body. He rolled the monster off him and cleaned his blade and continued up the stairs and soon heard footsteps ahead and slowly followed the footsteps hoping he did not sound his footsteps as well.
Nuada - September 12, 2007 10:05 PM (GMT)
It was the same thing. Sort of. Except that this time, instead of just a feeling, someone came to him. A figure, a fairy sort of thing. It floated gently at his face, it's small, light voice talking (more like whispering...) to him. It told him of a horrible fate that might befall this beautiful land of Arda. He listened intently, his mouth frowning slightly. For over an hour it spoke, and for an hour, Nuada became more and more convinced that this event might happen.
Quietly, the creature flew to his shoulder. It then whispered, "I need your help. Please, Arda's fate rests on your shoulders... not just you, but two others as well." Nuada's eyes widened. The fate of Arda was on his shoulders? He scoffed slightly, and the little fairy-thing nipped his air. "I do not lie!" Nuada stared at the little creature, and then a slight pressure fell onto his body, almost like a shroud of light material. It pressed on him, and finally he nodded.
"Ill go."
---
The desert loomed in front of him, spreading out expansively. The wind whipped around wildly, sending sand into his face. He held his spellbook up at an angle, so that he could see and still shield his face. It seemed hours until he felt to the ground, thirsty. He gasped for air, and then fainted, the world going black around him.
When he came to, a little figure floated in front of his face. It was the fairy-thing. A light blue fluid was pouring from it's fingers into his mouth. His mind immediately registered this as hunger, and he drank greedily. After a few more minutes of constant drinking, he finally was able to sit up. Nuada closed his eyes, and when he opened them, the fairy-thing was gone.
Another hour passed, and Nuada grew more thirsty. He was beginning to black out again, when he hit something hard. He heard the creak of hinges, and he hit a cool stone floor. He pushed himself up, just as a large blade came swinging down at him.
Unshadowed Fighter - September 13, 2007 01:00 AM (GMT)
A screeching sound came from behind him. Yoro turned to see a black creature coming straight for him. Yoro dodged over it just in time, but it turned right on and knocked him several feet back, right into the wall which he started. Yoro's wings vanished, and he hit the ground on his chest.
Slowly, he stood up and looked at the creature. Yoro crossed his left hand's middle and index fingers with the ones of the right, then closed his eyes. He was healed of wounds. Yoro grabbed his new weapon- the Searing Dagger. "Stop touching that thing! It burns!" Yoro ignored Aurox, then charged at the creature, swinging upward and missing by an inch. "Let's try that again!" Yoro did a push attack, but turned the blade sideways, and struck. "Now's my chance!" He came down hard on the creature, and a light shone from it. It burst into a tiny shard from a crystal. Yoro picked it up. "Weird," he said, placing it in the palm of his hand and continuing to walk.
After getting to the stairs, he grinned and began to walk. Suddenly, he felt the ground below him collapse, and a hole opened up, sending him crashing into a giant tunnel. "Winged Warrior!" Wings sprouted from the back, and he flapped his wings just as he appeared in a room. His wings vanished, and he walked up to a pedastal in the room. In the center was a little slit. The crystal shard would fit perfectly. Yoro got it out, then slipped it in the slot.
The floor shook. A chest dropped from the ceiling and crashed on the floor. Yoro walked over to it and opened it. There was a mystical map inside.
On it was the floor marking "Floor 1" at the top. He looked at it. Everything moving on the outside was actually moving on the map. In a small room, he saw his name. But, close to the entrance, he saw a familiar name. "Nuada Morphe..."
Arthur Paendrag Tanreall - September 13, 2007 05:13 PM (GMT)
Arthur followed the foosteps and heard a strange soudn ahead and slowly came forward and saw the person fightign this monster which he struck in it shattered in ti a crystal and Arthur shook his head. It was not in disbelief but merely astonishment. He knew the man, he had fought him once but he did not approach so he just watched. THe boy left and Arthur moved from his spot and examined where the beast had shattered.
There was nothign left not even a crease in the floor and Arthur grew a bit concerned, this was to easy. The traps should be harder and deadleir, he sensed somethig nwas wrong but he did not know what. Arthru stood and felt something behind him and Arthur ducked as a blade swiped over his head. Arthur turned to see a large iron golem coming at him and Arthru shook his head.
He drew the sword on his back which glowed in bright white flames and Arthur met the golems sword. Their blades meet briefly and Arthur just summoned his magic and a bolt of lighting struck the golem shattering him into tiny iron peices. Arthur sighed and said," THis is to easy, somethign is wrong I can feel it". He picked up a shard of the golem and looked at it and saw what was going on. THe tower was saving magical energy to deal with three opponents not two.
Arthur then knew that the real danger was to come and Arthru went after the boy. As he was about to reach where he felt a presence an arm reached from the wall and pushed him into the opposite wall causing a huge booming sound. Arthur looked to see a wall monster and said," Now this is what I wanted". He pointed his blade at the creature and the both charged at each other and Arthru smiled waitign for the crash of stone.
Nuada - September 14, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
A melodious ringing sounded in Nuada's mind. He felt his spellbook vibrating. He looked at it for one second, during which the blade continued to swing down. Almost instantly, the blade stopped, as if it had hit a wall. Nuada looked up, his eyes shining with tears. The small, light green field around him faded slowly.
He stood up, shakily, and opened his spelbook to a glowing page. It shined brightly as he looked it over. He had unlocked a new spell... he continued to read it over, but dropped the book only a few seconds later, crying in pain. The book started to shake and burn brightly, making the floor around it black. It then burst into a cool blue flame, and then it stopped. In the place of Nuada's old spellbook was now a shining silver one.
The cleric bent down slowly, carefully, afraid the book might still be hot. But it was cold as the stone in the room, and he pressed it against his face lightly. He could hear his heart pounding wildly in his ears, and finally he burst into tears. He sank to the ground, sobbing, shaking violently.
Unshadowed Fighter - September 14, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
Nuada's symbol moved around a bit before giving off a slight shadow on the map. Yoro wondered what this happened to mean. Before he could think more on it, he felt another rumbling. The pedestal crumbled, and out burst an arm's muscle, crawling across the ground. "What the?" Yoro grabbed his sword and prepared for what would happen next. Something big happened. The muscle began to stretch out into a full arm without flesh. Several different tentacles of elements reached from the ground below it. They wrapped around it and melted into a maroon colored skin.
Yoro gasped and hopped back, trapped at the wall. Shadows began to sprout from the shoulder part of it, and began to grow into a body form. He was now face to face with a new kind of creature. Yoro examined it, and it looked at him smiling. It flexed, and its arms beefed up. He squatted, and the muscles in his legs began to grow. His abs began to grow in size. Finally, the creature was about eight feet tall and ready to fight. "Time to find a weakness," said Yoro. His eyes became golden, and he examined the creature. "His only weakness is... being captured in a Magical Net!" Yoro looked up in surprise. "Nuada! I have to find him!" The creature swung its strong arm and knocked Yoro into the wall. He dropped to the ground on his knees and one hand, gasping for air.
Yoro quickly looked over the map. "There's got to be a way out of here!" He waved his hand over it. Out of sheer luck, the map lit up, and a secret passage showed up on the map. Yoro ran over to where the pedestal was, and jumped over it, right into the wall. He went through it! He was now close to Nuada's location. He began to walk towards him, then saw him. The wall behind him exploded, and the creature stepped out. "NUADA!" he shouted, just before being knocked straight into another wall. The creature grabbed him and threw him onto the floor, sending him piling into it, rocks thrown everywhere. Yoro was slid across the painful ground right beside Nuada. "I... don't know what's going on," he said. "Use Magical Net on him..." He stated, leaning his head onto the ground and resting.
This was going to be tougher then anticipated...
Nuada - September 14, 2007 10:53 PM (GMT)
Debris from the wall behind Nuada hit him in the head. He sprawled out on the floor, his head now bleeding. The door in front of him swam violently, and Nuada vomited. He could hear shouting and other loud noises, but he couldn't keep his senses working. He would hear one moment, and then there would be complete silence the next; he could see the door, and then he couldn't.
Slowly, Nuada opened his mouth. He used a Minor Heal spell, hoping that whatever was wrong on him would be healed. Almost immediately, he felt like a weight had lifted off of him, and he could see and hear properly. But he didn't like what he heard.
There was some kind of beast in the room. Eyes still watery, Nuada couldn't make out what was on the floor in front of it. The beast didn't seemed to have noticed Nuada, and so Nuada ducked behind a small pillar. He could hear the beast pounding with it's fists, and stomping around. Nuada's vision cleared, and it was then that he could see who was on the floor: Yoro. The Cleric uttered a gasp of exclamation, and quickly muttered another Minor Heal. He watched the magic snake its way toward Yoro's body. Then, furtively, Nuada cast a Magical Net on the creature.
Instantly, the creature fell to the floor, and burst into... shadows?!?!
Arthur Paendrag Tanreall - September 15, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
Arthur crashed against the creature with all his might and it fell back a little and he smiled. Arthur had a few cuts and bruises but he was not to badly hurt. The creature laughed and said," Give it up human you no match for the tower". Arthur laughed and said," Never give up, never surrender, and I am not human". The creature looked at him and Arthur transformed into his dragonic state and came forward and he broke the creature into a thousand peices which soon desentergrated into to dust.
Arthru smield and said," That was what I was waiting for, and dang it was harder than I thought". He then heard a crash from a diffrent room and smiled and said," Well Yoro is in trouble, I better go save him". HE smiled and ran to find Yoro. It didn't take logn because Arthru just followed the noises and he soon came upon two men facing a creature. One man he did not know cast magical net over the creature jsut before Yoro got hrut and the creature exploded into shadows.
The shadows noticed Arthur to late as Arthru sent out a breath of flame that dispersed the shadows. Arthru then turned to Yoro on the floor and said," Must you always be saved Yoro, or can you learn not to pick a fight to big for you". He de transformed and smield at Yoro and said," Let me guess yall two were talked to byt a mysteriosu stranger as well".
( SOrry its so bad but I am busy today, even if its my b-day I gota work which sucks)
Unshadowed Fighter - September 15, 2007 01:04 AM (GMT)
The magic made contact with Yoro. He sat up. "Must you always be saved, Yoro? Or can you learn not to pick a fight too big for you?" said Pendragon, "Let me guess, you two were talked to by a mysterious stranger as well?"
Rubbing the back of his head, Yoro said, "I didn't pick a fight." He pulled the map out in front of him. "But I found this, then met a pretty big thing that tried to keep me away from the map and kill me in the process." He stood up. "And yes, I was." He showed them both the map. "This is a special map. It shows where anyone is, movement, and when you wave your hand over it you can see secret passages."
The two others probably hadn't met, so he decided to say, "You two probably haven't met. Arthur Paendrag Tanreall, this is is Nuada Morphe. Nuada, this is Arthur Pendragon. And you both know me. I'm the cool one." He grinned like a child.
Nuada - September 18, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
The flames came out of nowhere, dispering the shadows in a wave of light, and leaving a burning hole where they once were. Nuada jumped when noticed the hulking figure standing in the room. He readied his spellbook in defense, but relaxed after he spoke to them. He must have been the one who killed the shadows... Nuada smiled slightly when Yoro introduced them. He held out his hand to Sir Tanreall. He was large and imposing, and Nuada would have had every right to have the urge to attack him, especially since he did not know him...
Nuada cocked his head slightly, listening. He could hear something. He turned back to the other two, and smiled. "Yes, a... fairy-thing, you could say, came to me... told me that I was the key to save Arda... and then I came." His smile quickly melted into a frown. He could hear a rumbling... but he couldn't feel it. He listened harder, and could soon feel the vibrations.
Too late, he hollered at the other two, "Get out!" By that time, the floor had given away under them, and Nuada was thrust into a hole of black. He could hear the wind whistling around him, and knew that if he hit the bottom he would die. He whispered a short prayer to the gods, and asked that they saved the other two. After all, they needed to save Arda...
...but wait... Yoro had wings! Nuada opened his mouth and, struggling, hollered, "WINGED WARRIOR!" Hopefully...
Arthur Paendrag Tanreall - September 18, 2007 04:15 PM (GMT)
Arthur nodded slightly at what they said. He looked to the other man and smiled as he tnesed. It was good a person who was cautious could never be caught unawares. He was about to say something but the floor fell out from under them and Arthur started to fall but he did not worry. He let out his draconic wings and took flight. He noticed the man falling and he said," Well they never said it was gona be easy". He flew toward the man only hoping he woudl reach im in time. He had no need to worry about Yoro for he knew how to fly. Arthur then had an idea to slow down the mans fall. He said," COntrol of The Winds". Soon a gushing wind came in and started to go udner the fallign man slowing his fall and he smiled and said," Well we should get to him quicker now". He then flew down as fast as he could.
Unshadowed Fighter - September 18, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
The floor was soon giving away, and Yoro began to fall below. "Winged Warrior!" he shouted. Nothing happened. "My mana is gone!" Yoro continued to fall. Pendragon saved Nuada, sort of. Yoro looked down below. He saw what would help him. A vine sticking from a crack in the wall. He would have to time this perfectly. Yoro came closer to the vine.
"Now's my chance!" He swung his arm out and pushed his sword into the crack, then grabbed the vine. The sword was sent flying below. "Swords kill! There goes your sword!" "Well I just dropped it and can't get it!" "Then take some mana and go get the thing!" Yoro felt some energy fill his veins. It was Aurox's mana. "Winged Warrior!" His wings sprouted, and he headed down to claim his sword.
Nuada - September 23, 2007 03:50 PM (GMT)
Nuada closed his eyes, and felt the darkness around him pulse with anger. He felt something rush under him, and he winched, thinking that it was his death; it wasn't. Something was holding him up, slowing down his descent. He opened his eyes, and could see the wind quivering around him, keeping him safe. His thoughts of death and destruction were now replaced by lucidity. This wind would not last forever. Nuada saw Arthur rushing down to get him, but Nuada had to do something as well.
He scanned his surroundings, checking to see how wide the hole was, and how deep. If it wasn't too wide, then he could cast a Magical Net to hold him, which would probably hold longer than the winds... Carefully, Nuada moved his position in the winds, so that he could see the hole better. It seemed that Arthur had chosen the right time to save him... if he had fallen only a little more, he would be speared on the end of one of the spikes...
You must do it now. Slowly, Nuada could feel the darkness in the cave start to pulse faster, and the winds were starting to die. Gathering all his strength, Nuada hollered "MALTHINAE!" At that moment, the darkness dispersed the winds, and, thank the gods, the Magical Net had formed right at that second, spreading out to the walls, and latching onto them. Nuada fell into it, his heart (and mind) racing.
((ooc: sorry if it's not that good; i feel that i've over-used my muse on a few other sites... XD))
