Valynna - September 9, 2007 07:54 PM (GMT)
A long blacked haired youth walked into the Parmamar Library, once inside she stopped at the front counter and just absorbed her surroundings. Never had she seen so many books in one place, she figured it’s reputation was correct. So where was she going to start? Valynna didn’t know how long her and her master were going to be staying here, she had tried asking but never got a direct response from Zanthia. So instead of trying to keep her cool on the crowded streets, she’d much rather read some books in private.

“Miss, can I help you?” The voice came from beside her, her blood red eyes focused on the librarian, an elderly man who almost jumped at the brightness of her eyes, or was it her look? She wasn’t sure what face she had just given him, but he could help her out. Her face softened, as much as she could make it, but it seemed to have the effect she wanted as the man regained his composure.

“I guess Spell casting, first.” She said, half to herself, half to the man. He seemed to nod, taking a good look at her before giving her directions to the floor and isle she wanted.

On her way to her destination, she couldn’t help but stop here and there, pulling a few books off the bookcases and glancing through them before putting them back. During her growing up years back at her village, in between the fights and bulling she read, it was her one freedom where she didn’t have to prove to anyone who she was. By the time she was 26 she had read all the books she could find in her village, which wasn’t saying too much. But even after leaving her village the thirst for knowledge from books continued, now was the perfect time for her to try and quench that thirst before she left this place, probably not setting eyes on another book for a while.

Eventually after several side trips, and picking up a few extra books she made it to the magic section of the library where spell books and other such knowledge awaited her. Finding a few general spell books to start off with she settled in a soft chair, her pile of books sat on the floor as she dangled her legs off the arm of the chair, looking quite comfortable and appearing to settled in for a long time.

Once meeting up with Zanthia, she began teaching her body to channel the magic within her, except Zanthia had so far been avoiding much of the dangerous magic which Valynna found herself more interested in. But from the books, it was apparent she was just going to have to start off slow and build her way up. It may take a while, though if anything had warn off onto Valynna from Zanthia was patience, at least when it came to spells, other times Zanthia’s words of wisdom seemed to go in one ear and out the other.

Arthur walked into the vast library and looked about it. No matter how many times he went to this palce, it always made him breathless at its volumes and volumes of books. He remember spending a whole day im here lost once and that wasn't really to pleasant but at least he had gotten to read. He doubted if he lived in this place for 20 years he would finish reading all the books here and Arthur had that kind of time. He sihged and went to the librarian who lloked at him and smiled. The man was used to Arthur by now, he had been shocked when he had firs came in of course he had been in dragon form then, but the man had gotten use to him. He handed him the books he had borrowed a few weeks back and wnet on toward the magic section.

Arthur detransformed while walkign so as not to disturb the readers with his dragon form. He soon came to the section he was looking for and noticed osmeone htere. He paid them no mind but walked past them borwsing the shelves looking for a particular magic book. He didn't fidn it so he went and looked by the person for it until he saw it on the floor. THe book was called," Magical ENhancments of Weapons and The Times of Their Use". He said pointing to the book," You reading that, because I need to borrow it for a while".

Thal had never noticed the fact that this world had seventy-three suns, and forty-nine moons before. He actually found that fact quite interesting. He wondered how the planet idn't burst into flames from the heat of all the suns, and how the planet had enough gravitational force to hold that many moons in orbit. He also wondered how he knew what orbit and gravity meant. He lay on a bench (which he found quite redundant, since chairs had already been invented beforehand) and looked up at the enormous amounts of objects in the sky orbiting the planet. He was just wondering why his eyes hadn't become burnt, shriveled up specks, when he fell off of the bench. Only it wasn't a bench, it was the top of a bookshelf in a library.

He had been laying with one leg dangling off of the side of the bookshelf with a book open on his chest. When he rolled off of the bench, he actually rolled off of an eight foot high bookshelf. He plummeted to the ground, and slammed into the floor right behind a girl sitting in a chair. The force of the impact caused a few books to slide off of the shelves and piled themselves on the Elf.

Thal slowly stood up, brushing the books aside as he stood up. He looked around, wondering where he was. Then he remembered. He had climbed up on top of a bookshelf to read in peace, when he fell asleep because the book he was reading was so boring. What had the book been? Oh right. It was "The History of Monks." He couldn't have picked a more boring subject.

Only after looking around a bit did Thal notice the girl and a man who were apparently having a conversation. At least, they were until he fell three feet from them. It would have been almost impossible to miss what had just happened, so, if they didn't even look at him they were either A: completely oblivious to the world around them, or B: Complete arses.

Valynna - September 24, 2007 11:38 PM (GMT)
Somebody had approached Valynna’s side, his shadow had fallen over her book that she was reading making it hard to continue reading. With an impatient look on her face, she raised her red eyes to the man in front of her. He was pointing at one of her books in her pile. Half of her wanted to ignore the man, be a jerk and not give him the book he wanted. But he looked like someone who would go tell one of the librarians and she would be kicked out of this small haven she had created in here. Setting down her book, “Spells and Enchantments Level 2”, she reached into her pile and pulled the one he wanted.

“I guess you can borrow it, I’m not reading it at the moment.” She took a look at the title, remembering why she picked it up in the first place, oh well, maybe she’ll find it another time. “I sort of made a castle around me huh?” She said now with a bit of a smile as she looked at all the books she picked up, did she honestly think she could read all these in one day? Was her thirst for knowledge that apparent?

But before she could say anything else, or the man to reply to her something caught the corner of her eye, turning her head she caught sight of an elf falling to the ground. His landing causing a few books to fall from their place. Now Valynna laughed full heartedly. The fool, she thought looking up to the top of the bookcase where he once slept, should have know better to read something up there.

Arthur smiled as the woman handed her the book and was about to reply when an elf fell to the groud from up in the book case. He smiled and had a hard time keeping himself from laughing at the elfs misfortune. He went over to the elf and said," Nice one, yall from the skies these days now". He grabbed the elf and helped him up and then said," Next time don't sleep up there, its a hard lesson to learn, but we all get it eventually". He laughed and went aside and then answered the girl on something she said earlier," Yeah ya did make a book castle, It would take me all day to read that many books, and belive me I have done it before".

(sorry its so short but I am pressed for time)

Thal felt himself being pulled to his feet by the man who had been talking to the girl previous to Thal's little tumble off of the bookshelf. He steadied himself on his feet, taking a moment to make sure that he woulnd't fall over again before looking at the two before him. One was a girl who had hunkered down amid a fortress of books. The other was a warrior-looking man, clad in some sort of shiny, expensive looking-armor.

"Well, I don't know if I'm more sorry or embarassed," Thal said. "I'm sorry for interrupting your conversation, but I'm embarassed at having fallen over the side of a rather large book case. Either way, it isn't a good feeling." Thal smiled a bit to show that he was only joking. Joking was a favorite pasttime of his. Being an Elf, many thought of him as a somber, strict, and wise being. In reality, he was none of the three. Well, perhaps he was wise in his own right, but not in the sagely manner that most people seek out when in need of advice.

"So, it would seem that you quite enjoy reading," Thal said to the girl. "I, myself, can't stand to read for long, mainly because if I sit in any one place for any sort of extended period of time, I either get fidgety, or start to formulate some sort of plot that will bring me some enjoyment. The problem with the latter of the two concequences is, what I consider fun, most others do not, particularly the victims of my pranks."

Valynna - October 6, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
So this elf was fond of pranks, she couldn’t help but remember how many times she had been a the but end of a prank when she was a child. It was far to often, and far to painful for her to continue down that memory lane. But was his jokes like theirs? By the sounds of his words they were. Her face made a cross look, so he was a guy who thought him above everyone else who amuses himself at the expense of others. If she wasn’t in a library she would not be holding her tough right now.

“Or, you could fall asleep and fall off a bookshelf.” Valynna responded in dry humor. “Perhaps you haven’t found the right book to spark your interest, but I’m sure the right book for you would only cause you to continue your pranks.” It could be told by her expression and tone of voice that she disapproved that he did pranks.

It was no obvious to Valynna that her day of reading had been put on hold by these strangers. She wasn’t sure what to do, she could bark at them to leave her alone, but she wasn’t in the mood for that. The book she was reading really wasn’t interesting her, and she had been reading for a while, her brain needed a break.

“If you don’t enjoy reading, then why are you hear?” She suddenly asked the elf out of the blue. Perhaps he didn’t just fall asleep and fall…. “Where you watching me, or should I say us?” She looked over at the other man who had asked for one of her books.
