Title: Gryphon's Song (anyone can join! ^_^)
Description: be lifted by this enchanted melody...
Amedylei - January 6, 2006 01:41 AM (GMT)
It was quiet. Nothing broke the everstill silence but for the crashing of the water and for the soft sounds that excaped from pools near the falls. Each note carried on the winds breath taken to each and every direction around. A melody so sweet so blessed. Even as loud as the water was, the music could be heard amidst it.
She played slowly, the small Gryph Child. A fledgling of only 8 years. She was extremely young, about the intelligence of a small human child. She was very playful and very curious, everything about the world seemed to intrigue her. The animals of the forrest started to gather around her. Sitting peacefully with her as she plucked so sweetly and so gently.
Amedylei was born a princess and she was very proud of that fact if not a little too proud. she was born a musician, the gryphons harp (more the size of a lyre) was passed down from the ancestors of her tribe. Only select few could master the complex instrument. The only one besides her was her great and forgotten ancestor, the one that brought life to the very existance of Gryphon kind.
Sitting upon a risin grey stone situated in the middle of the water, Amedylei continued to play now adding words to her enchanting melody. "awcken noi schen palernta, crensti oplian heiendreo'kr. Souloin parthenai cretein, plesordinae carpei 're."
((translation only for those who understand Gryphon's Tongue, And don't say your character can if they can't! And I know most of you can't.))
((translation: southern winds they come and go, as I sing for the water. Peace around me even still. I sing and play in the daylight."))
((not meaning to be mean about the whole language speaking thing, but I just know most of you can't so yeah sorry if it sounded mean didn't mean it to be.))
She continued on, a cheerful look upon her beak. The water seemed to fall in response. As she sang her mystic words, rain began to fall lightly, everywhere but Amedylei, she was summoning it, even though she had no idea of doing so. She had a power no one else possesed but the gods and goddesses themselves. The power of changing the weather around her, but by her songs and melodies... She went on completely unaware of anyone around her.

(general i use a lot of spells so if you want to check if im cheating look at the bottom of my sig it has my inventory's link ive been acused before and its kind of anoying >.<)
He had been walking for oh so long, days and nights spent in the company of no one but his own thaughts and the relentless buzzing at the back of his mind reminding him that he was not alone. Indeed he was never with out the constant evil that dwelt just out of sight and almost out of mind.
He had heared nothing but the continuse crashing of the rapids and now the waterfall for an hour now and it was starting to wear on his patients. He strained his ears for any other sounds other than that of the water.
He oped his ears and just as hoped the sounds of another person drifted over the white water. But it was no voices or walking but music. Music general fell of deaf ears to him dwarvish ears were not acostomed to the fine points of music but this was indeed a truely good musician.
His walking had braughed the edge of the water fall in view, he continued up to it in the hope that he could catch sight of the player. He stood on its crest as the land dropped away before him for twenty or so foot. He scanned the area and spotted the musician sitting on a rock but it was not an elf or human as expected but a Gryphon. This intreeged him greatly he had not seen a gryphon for a long time.
Hopping it had not seen him he moved forward again and sat down his short legs over the cliff next to the waterfall. He lifted his hlem off gently and placed it next to him letting his beard and long hair hang lose, then he undid his pack and weapons setting them aside. The gryphon began to sing in its own languge, he could have read the gryphons mind to discover the words, asuming it knew common but it would spoil its elegence
He lay back and let the music wash over him sothing his aching head.
Amedylei - January 6, 2006 05:53 PM (GMT)
Amedylei Continued, Lost in the soul and melody of her work. She didn't notice the Dwarf even coming twards her All she did was play. Looking down at the water she noticed the droplets of rain, falling around her though she felt none. Her playing slowed and finally stopped. As soon as it ceased so did the rain. She was very curious to what she had done.
Finally out of her musical trance she continued to look at her reflection, making faces in the water being the child she was. She then heard shuffling... looking up she saw a rather short man, he was very hairy and looked muscular. Suprised she began to back away, not of fear but from his sudden and unannouced appearance.
Fogetting she was on a rock she fell backwards, suprised she let out a yelp "WOOAAAAAHHHHH EYAAAAAAAAA" making a splash as she entered and passed through the surface. Looking up she saw the bubbles, she was fascinated by them, she was fascinated by almost anything. Swimming upwards she flew out of the water doing a flip before she ascended within the frigid depths again. Popping back out shortly she spit the water out in a fountain like fashion then swam over a peice of driftwood and hung on looking at the new person that appeared, she giggled softly and smiled. She didn't know whether he was good or bad, so she assumed good... like she did for all people.
She looked at him with curious soft Azure and Golden eyes. Smiling again she said "Hi! My names Amedylei whats yours? Can you speak the tongue of men?" giggling she continued, "You look funny, Whats your name?"
Raven Silverflame - January 7, 2006 01:43 AM (GMT)
Raven walked on through the forest, brushing her black hair out of her face. She looked around, wondering how far this forest would go before she got to the falls. She knew the falls were somewhere around here, and that once she saw them it meant that she was on the right track and not going around in circles like she strongly suspected she was.
She cursed softly as she tripped over a root. Slowly, she struggled to her feet, wiping the mud from her face. This was getting nowhere.
She closed her eyes, concentrating. Her form transformed to that of an eagle. Taking great care to keep her concentration, she spread her wings and flew above the trees.
That was much better, she thought, as the wind blew around her. She sighed, trying to focus. If she didn't focus, she might shift back to her original form...and at this height, that would be disastrous. Suddenly a song met her ears. She didn't understand the language, but the song calmed her. Without knowing why, she flew towards it.
Underneath her was the falls, and the one playing the music was a Gryphon. A dwarf was there as well. Suddenly, the Gryphon slipped and fell into the water, stopping the song. It struggled out and said something to the dwarf. Raven decided to land there and she did, coming to a soft landing on the ground. She shifted back into her normal form.
Samarin - January 7, 2006 01:31 PM (GMT)
As he whatched the Gryphon fall in surprise of his presence, he chuckled it was a fledgling and a young one at that. he rose to his feet and picked up his helm and jammed it firmly in place. "I Can speak the languge of men as well as many others but gryphon is beyond me." He smilled and reached down and picked up his infernal axe, it was his pride and joy. Sure it was evil but he was confident he could controle it.
"My name is Snori..." he peered over the edge of the cliff, the fall was only about 20 foot it would be fairly easy to get down. "One second i'm going to come down"
He held out his hand and tried to cast the entanglement spell. His plate armour was very restricting and two of the larger plates were grinding together whilst he cast. It threw his gesture compleatly and the spell amounted to nothing. He was getting sick of it, for a mage he did carry about a lot of armour and weapons anyone would thing he was a fighter.
He swore in dwarvish and tried again. This time the spell sucsesfull and insted of entangeling a target, vines and roots sprouted from the cliff face and grew downwards. He turned his back to Amedylei and began to desend down the cliff face, grabbing on to the vines as tight as he could.
He climbed down about half way then lowered himself once more and let himself drop. He hit the floor with a dull thud and then he struggled to his feet, it hurt more than he thaught it would.
"Ah and here is the shape shifter now, I saw you flying as an eagle." He chuckled to himself a gryphon and a shape shifter, what ever next.
He looked around and spotted a sizable rock he wandered over to it and sat his feet barly touching the floor.
Amedylei - January 7, 2006 01:55 PM (GMT)
She listened intently as the man spoke. "I Can speak the languge of men as well as many others but gryphon is beyond me." As he peered down over the cliff he said "My name is Snori..." Amedylei giggled some as she pulled herself up upon the driftwood she was hanging on. Slipping and sliding she decided she wanted go back to the small grey protrusion out in the azure pool. Unfolding her wings, she jumped high diving with full force into the water She smiled when under it's everlasting coolness. She has been always a lover of water. She couldn't breathe in it, but she could swim rather well. she began to swim up when she remebered she had guests. Skyrocketing to the top she broke through the surface, while in the air using her wings letting the water from them fly as she opened them. Floating slowly down she sided herself upon the rock again. Giggling she turuned her head to her new visitor.
She was a girl and an a Shapeshifter. Amedylei may have had a mind of a 7 year old but she was wise, like her grandmother. Her hair was black and her eyes were a peircing gray, though Amedylei only smiled at her new Guest. Looking curious Amedylei began to speak to the woman. "Hi! You're Pretty. Whats your name? Are you a Shapeshifter? How many forms can you take?" Giggling profoundly she almost toppled over again. Catchin herself she looked a the woman enthusiasticly waiting for an answer.
Raven Silverflame - January 8, 2006 04:35 AM (GMT)
Raven turned to the gryphon.
"My name is Raven," she said, "As to how many shapes I can take, in theory I can change my form into whatever I want, but in reality the success of the change depends on my mastery of the form. I'm best at the eagle, the dog and a girl with blond hair."
Samarin - January 8, 2006 06:54 PM (GMT)
Snori closed his eyes put his head hin his hands and rested for a few seconds. He rubbed his face and got up. walking over to the waters edge he began to talk.
"So what do you do fair Raven? my guess Amedylei is a musician but you... im not sure you have a cross bow but not the weapon of choice for a fighter or an archer.... I could be mistaken... "
He stoped talking as he reached his hands down into the crisp cool water and pulled up his hands cupped holding the liquid between his rough hands. He drank then pulled off his helm and set it down next to him.
"You have a fair amount of magic surrounding the both of you but Amedylei is a gryphon so would probably acount for hers."
he again dipped his hands into the fresh water and withdrew his hands, splashing his face with the icy water. It was very refreshing on his tired face.
"So what will it be Raven? Mage, archer, warrior? Because you have thus far iluded an old dwarf."
Raven Silverflame - January 9, 2006 02:27 AM (GMT)
Raven turned to Snori. She shrugged.
"I'm not really quite sure," she said.
Silnímarë Kikkamm - January 9, 2006 03:49 AM (GMT)
Silnimare, in half-dragon form, lept from tree to tree. After a moment he took flight and skimmed over the river. He suddenly launched up into the sky, and dove straight for the waterfall. As he got closer, he began to hear voices. He began to try to sense for magic. A rather unusual amount was present. He landed nearby, in a tree, and called "Hello there! I am Silnimare! Who are you? Wait...Snori? Is that you?" He flew down closer to take a look. "It is you! How are you?" He held out a claw to shake.
Amedylei - January 9, 2006 04:30 AM (GMT)
Amedylei gawked silently. it wasn't that she hadn't seen dragons before, she just was amazed how many different people were near her. her face of suprise then turned to one of gentleness. She always wanted to make new friends, and She figured this was one of the best ways how.
Looking back at Snori she giggled as her question persued, "So you know him?" Giggling again she continued, "and you were right Snori, I am a musician! And I love it! Love it, Love it, Love it!" Again Amedylei was overcame by a burst of giggles. She was hyper today, heck she was hyper everyday but that always insured that no sadness overcame her. She flew from her rock and perched near the large reptile. Looking at him with her golden brown and azure eyes she smiled. "How do you do Mr. Scaley! My name's Amedylei." Sniffing around him she oohed and ahhed at his scales as they were very shiney and amuzed her very much so. "You're not very big for a dragon, are you a half dragon Mr. Scaley? Wanna be my friend?" She smiled broadly as always, sometimes she had the knack for being annoying. Even though she knew his name was Silnimare, she still persisted to call him Mr. Scaley.
Silnímarë Kikkamm - January 9, 2006 11:42 AM (GMT)
Silnimare laughed. "To answer you in order of the questions: very well, thank you; Yes; Of course." He then teleported to the base of the tree. He walked up to Snori and said, "How are things going? I've been meaning to speak with you for a while. I apologize if our earlier meeting left you with a poor impression of me. Forgive me."
((sorry I prolly won't be on until tomorow morning. see you then.))
Samarin - January 9, 2006 07:50 PM (GMT)
"Imprestions are almost always wrong." Slowly he turned around to look at Silnimare.
"learnt a few more spells have you? teleporting... use full indeed." He looked up at the sky, somtimes he wondered what he was missing, flying in the sky so many people could do it. Every one here could bar him it made him wonder if there was anything to it... He should try it some time but he would have to over come the hight thing.
"Just a question but flying? Is it realy as good as its cracked up to be.... As a dwarf I have know very little about it the dark is where I live but I would like to try it.... I am sure a spell would do it but is it as good as it seams?"
Silnímarë Kikkamm - January 10, 2006 04:18 AM (GMT)
Silnimare smiled. "That would deoend on how it seems to you."
Raven Silverflame - January 10, 2006 09:33 AM (GMT)
Raven smiled as the conversation turned to flying. She had taken a few winged forms once in a while, and like she said, the eagle was her favorite. She grinned.
"Well, it depends," she said, "Are you afraid of heights?"
Samarin - January 10, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
"Depends on your definition of afraid but hights are... unnatural for dwarfs, we normaly like to have both feet planted on the ground." He thaught for a bit, the truth was that indeed he was slightly afraid of hights but any self respecting dwarf would be but it didnt mean he couldnt try it. "I think i will try it.... I just have to figure out the right spell hell if hights arnt naturel for a dwarf then nor is magic and I am a very good mage so why dont I go all the way?"
Silnímarë Kikkamm - January 11, 2006 04:58 AM (GMT)
"You can do whatever you put your mind to, snori." He smiled as he thout of blaez.
Raven Silverflame - January 11, 2006 10:22 AM (GMT)
Raven nodded.
"He's got a point," she said to Snori, "Just...be careful...that's all I can say."
Silnímarë Kikkamm - January 12, 2006 06:07 PM (GMT)
"Well, I'm going to train over there." He pointed to a little clearing a short way off. "If you want to join me, I don't mind." He teleported over to the clearing and began to train.
