Title: Making an appearance at the library
Description: private

Lomedor, a large town of hustle and bustle. A town filled with shops, schools, homes and other buldings you would expect to see in such a large place. But Lomedor had something the other towns did not: a library. The Parmamar Library was one to marvel at; filled with hundreds of tomes, ranging from simple childrens stories to adult novels to fighting techniques to mages spells to alchemic recipies, this building had no rival when it came to books. On this fine fall day the trees were already preparing to shead their leaves as a red-haired man walked inside, his katana was securely mounted on his back as he made certain it would not come loose. A grey-haired woman walked to him, "I know you won't be using that in here." she snapped. "Chill, I only use it for fighting and dicing, and I cannont do either here. Don't get your wig in a knothe said and walked by.

There as not much here in the wayof being full. Maybe three people he could see but that was about it savethe people in the study area. Walking around he seen a book on the table and picked it up. Flipping through the pages he found it was full of fables, leaning against a bookcase he began to read a few of them and gave a muffled laugh at some of the stories, most were filled with good advice though.

One of those three people, however, was a man called Dirk Maroon. He was not just any man, though; he was a wizard. Not necessarily one of the most powerful - he was certainly no mage or archmage - but a wizard nonetheless. And right now, his table was practically invisible due to the massive stockpile of books, scrolls, maps, and tall sheafs of parchment all threatening to either topple or crush the table under their weight or both at any moment. He was even more invisible than the literature before him as he had cleared only a very small space and was now utilizing that space to read a rather thick, heavy book on elemental magic. The portion he was reading at present was one regarding the deepest principles of fire magic, and he quietly recited the passages of the book before him as he read.

"...whereas the intense heat would melt most boulders, thereby clearing a path for the creature to be summoned. But only the most powerful mages have accomplished this feat, becoming archmages by rank and title due to this being a deadly test controllable only by powerful archmages, who are said to be the most powerful magicians on Arda..."

Petshop shoved the book back in its place shrugging on the lessons of the day from the fables. Walking towards the tables he passed a table full of books and scrolls. He walked towards it to see what it was about. There a Mage was mumbling some stuff in a book. "...whereas the intense heat would melt most boulders, thereby clearing a path for the creature to be summoned. But only the most powerful mages have accomplished this feat, becoming archmages by rank and title due to this being a deadly test controllable only by powerful archmages, who are said to be the most powerful magicians on Arda..." he said. Petshop saw a book on the table and picked it up. The very fact a few ounces was lifted off of the table seemed to upset its balance making it tilt to one side before he put his hand on it and leaned on the table rebalancing it but making the table shudder for a moment as if it would not hold the weight but somehow found the strength as Petshop held the book open. It was a tome on the abilites of Earth Elementals, reading it he seemed to ignore the mage who was reading and had probably noticed that he was there. If he did, oh well, petshop was busy right now and unfortuantly he had a one track mind so the mage was probably going to be ignored.

Not to worry, though - Dirk was much the same way. He had only peripherally noticed the wobbling of the table, but he hadn't bothered with what his senses were telling him vaguely. He was far too focused on what the book about fire mages was telling him.

"...and thereby releasing the energy into a conduit that would otherwise be inaccessible. The flames wouldn't be properly fueled without this procedure, but once the task is completed the fire elemental becomes far more powerful and durable. It thus makes it very difficult to..."

He went on reading for some time, hardly noticing that the book he'd already finished about earth elementals was picked up by someone else. Finally, though, he finished the chapter he was reading and went to check a reference in another book that the one he was reading mentioned. That's when he noticed someone standing at his table reading the book.

"There's an even better book about them on shelf 16f," he said, pleased that someone was as interested in magic as he was. That book was really just a smaller volume that constantly referred to several other specialized books, one of those being on shelf 16f and another being on shelf 15z. Some might consider it an embarrassing thing to know that much about the library, but Dirk (naturally) considered it a huge advantage.
