The bustle of the crowded city streets, filled with merchants, guards, criminals, and every other type of person imaginable, in the midst of all of this, a young mercenary, called Asuke, was standing in a dark and shadowy corner away from all of this business. He smiled at the carefree lives of all the people in that busy city square, his dark figure and cold smile ignored by all those villagers, in there ignorance to all the wars and fighting.
To bad I can't live like that. Peace, you will always allude me won't you? Asuke thought to himself.
He was looking at each of the people in turn, trying to find his next target. As he watched his tall lean figure stepped out of the shadows into the crowd, mingling with all those people, just another person.
To think that not even a mercenary like makes the villagers uneasy at all.

Nissa had been walking through the streets, going form shop to shop just to see what they have in them when she saw a tall lean man walking through the crowd eyeing everyone like they were prey and he was prediator. She left a shop to walk past him to get a better looke at him and to see if he eyed her like the rest, she would not handle that very well, people eyes her like they were going to attack did not faze her. As she got closer she didnt pay attention to where she was walking and just as she got to him she was tripped by someone and fell face first ontot eh street. One startled gasp filled the air as she traveled downward, and a grun as she hit it. She laid there dazed for a moment then lifted her head and looked around to see if she had lost the man and niticed him standing on the side of the street stareing at her, she heard some noise and noticed that a horse drawn carriage was coming her way and she went to get up but noticed will horror that her fot was caught between stones that made the road and was bleeding and she couldnt move it, she looked around hopelessly and opened her mouth to scream for help but she looked back at the carriage and realized that it was to close to call for help, she shut ehr eyes and braced herself for pain.

As he was walking amidst the crowd, he noticed some commotion and looked to see a girl fallen in the middle of the road, as he looked at her features, he heard a cart coming down the road toward the girl.
Isn't this just wonderful, if I save her, that will make a even larger commotion. And if I don't, hmm... Asuke thought to himself. Than he made a dash towards the girl, and tried to drag her out of the way of the cart.
Hopefully she doesn't get hurt badly.

She watched as the cart almost hit her but at the last moment an unknown person drag her out of the way and in the process her ankle got all scratched up and she couldnt help but scream a little in pain, she reached saftey and looked around at the person who had pulled her away and realized it was a man. Looking at his face she said with much sincerity " Thank you so much" her face then pulled up into a grimance as her ankle throbed with pain. She then tried to get up and walk not likeing to fell dependant and as she took one step forward the almost fell but out of pure instinct, her hand dashed out and grabbed his shoulder to catch herself.

After he got the girl out of the way of the cart, he stood up.
"No problem." said the cold man, Asuke. When she tried to walk and grabbed his shoulder when she started falling, he wondered how badly she was injured.
"Can you walk?" asked Asuke. Asuke wanted to get away from the crowd that was closing in on them because of the uproar. He started to glare at the people in the crowd and put his hand on his sword hilt hidden beneath his cloak, drawing back his cloak to reveal the hilt. They started backing up, and whisper to each other in hushed tones.
"We should leave soon." Asuke said to the woman.

She saw the way he intentionaly showed the crowd the hilt of his sword and the way he glared at them and looked at him disgustly, she glared at him and let got of his shoulder nad tried yet again to walk away from him and said in a cold tone "Im fine i can walk" She took a step again and this time she did fall, she laid there with her eyes closed frustrated that she could not walk away alone.

"You don't like my methods?" Asuke said with a cold smile as she let go of his shoulder and tried to walk again. Then as she tried to walk, she fell and he stepped towards her, offering his hand to help her up.
"If you want my assistance, that's fine, I don't really expect you to though." he said as he offered his hand. He kept his eye on the crowds, making sure no one tried to make even more commotion by attacking them or anything.

She sighed and took his hand and pulled herself up, since i cant walk then i guess you have to help me, she looked around and hated not being able to walk on her own without falling flat on her face again, she looked towards him and said, i should probally get this checked out and see when ill be able to walk again without falling on my face again. Gestureing towards the street she said, shall we go then, o and please dont attack anyone while your helping me, it is terribly rude

He laughed quietly at her words, then helped her to walk towards a medical facility. As they went to the place, Asuke saw the towns people disperse when they started to leave.
"My name is Asuke. What is your name?" he asked the girl, after a time, placing trust in her to not tell everyone, giving him away.

She looked at him through narrowed eyes and said my name is Nissa, She looked over at him and said curiously, why do i get the feeling you hate people? She leaned her weight on him feeling the pain in her ankle getting a little worse than before, you know you didnt have to help me i would have made it here at one time or another. She did not make it sound like she was ungrateful but just to let him know she wasnt completly useless.

"Well Nissa, I don't truly hate people, I'm just not overly fond of them." said Asuke as they were nearing the medical facility, "I helped you partly because you remind me of someone, and partly...well, maybe I'll tell you that much later." He decided to leave it at that.
Is she my target? She looks like it, but maybe not. Asuke thought.

She looked at him suriously, o and who do i remind you of?, and i am not saying that i am ungrateful that you haelped me i am but the way you glared at the crowd and showed them your sword threatenly i got the feeling you hated people, but then you helped me so i didnt know.

"You remind me of my mother. She was elf, like you, and she hated evil. She was killed long ago though, so that doesn't matter now." said Asuke, "I feel uncomfortable around most people, threatened you might say. My sword keeps me alive, I trust it." Asuke put a hand lightly on his sword hilt, in a loving way.

She noticed his gesture and rolled her eyes, you love your sword more than anyhting else then i suppose? and your mother did she look like me or just act like me?, and i do hate evil and anything to do with it. i dont know how you stand it. She looked towards the faciliety and realized they were takeing awhil ,well she was taking awhile anyways.

"I don't remember to much of how my mother looked. And yes, all my friends and family died, I only love my sword now. I don't like good or evil, and if you ask me which side I'm on, I prefer to stay on neither side." Asuke said as they walked into the medical facility.

So your neutrel then? thats sad that your whole family died. She looked towards the front desk where a lady watched them walk in, she looked towards Asuke and said, you can go know they will take care of things for me, and you probally have things to do, she started to let go and walk towards the front desk but founf out she couldnt walk still but just stood there, she grunted in frustration and tried again, this time she made it one step, she looked behind her at Asuke and shot him a glare as if to say "do not make fun of the way im walking."

"My past makes no difference now," said Asuke turning away to walk out of the building, "Next time we meet, I would watch yourself." With that he walked into the city square and pulled out a small poorly drawn image, he looked at it and stood in silent thought.
Why do my employers have to be such poor artists, it makes finding the right target so difficult and time consuming. I will let my employer down this time, I don't really care what he thinks about me.

She stared after him opened mouthed and limped towards the front desk winceing with extreme pain, she then stared into space thinking why she alway's has to be the tough one, and turn away everyone she meets, she turned to the lady eyes watery but quickly blinked them away, and said I need to get my ankle checked out fell in the street and got away form a carriage just before it hit me causing my ankle to twist, crack, then get cut up, she made no mention of Asuke , already making note never to bring him up again she tried not to remember people who were rude to her. The lady at the front desk lead her toa back room to wait to get checked out by the doctor, she laid on the bech and closed her eyes and waired, feeling the gently throbb of her ankle nonstop.
