Title: Split Weapon / Armor Suggestions
Sir Caius Lucius - September 6, 2006 01:17 AM (GMT)
Something other than swords? Easily done.
Sonic Trumpet: Makes such a loud noise when played that it can distract, stun, and even harm people around the wielder.
Arcane Bow: Bow that casts Ice, Fire, or Lightning (or any other type of spell) on the arrow being fired.
Arbalest: Crossbow with tremendous fire power, also can fire multiple bolts at the same time.
Poseidon’s Trident: A Trident that the wielder can cast Earthquake and Waterspout when using this weapon.
Climhazzard Spear: The holder of this weapon skill in acrobats greatly increases to the point where he or she can almost defy the law of gravity.
Invisible Flail: The ball of the flail was enchanted to become invisible when purchased. Only the wielder can see the actual flail part of the weapon.
Enchanting Harp: Small harp that when played causes enemies nearby to lose their will to fight. (does not work so well against PCs)
Seeking Shuriken: Shurikens that do not miss their targets (does not work so well against PCs).
Halberd of Speed: Halberd casts Blur on wielder.

Thought I'd give an option for crossbows as well soo...
Heat-seeking Arrows/Bolts -- thought I'd derive something from the heat-seeking missile idea lol
Such arrows and bolts are drawn to sources of heat.
Arrows/Bolts of malleability - strangely, unlike what is expected of bolts/ arrows, these do not pierce nor penetrate flesh or armour. They however render what they touch malleable within a five-inch radius through extreme amounts of magical heat which lasts for only two minutes.

One word: Robes
The one thing I see that is rather lacking is a selection of different robes for the casters of Arda! I see some neat staves and wands, and tons of spells, but most surely we can't expect the mages, sorcerors and wizards to run around in their birthday suits. So, I suggest the following types of ideas as samples:
Robes
All robes grant little protection against physical attacks, but do provide certain magical benefits. While robes can be worn by all for their effects, they would not make a viable alternative to heavy armor for melee professions.
________________________________________________________________
Robe of the Arcanist
This is a plain robe, made of simple cloths.
Robe of Fire
The material of this robe seems to shift in shades of red, orange and gold, as if it were made of living flame, though it feels perfectly normal to the touch. The wearer of this robe is granted the effects of Protection from Fire, and all fire spells are enhanced slightly.
Drape of Shadows
A thin black mist floats about this robe and its wearer, giving the wearer the same benefits of the spell Unholy Aura. This robe is also imbued with a weak version of Dark Regeneration, and allows the user to blend in somewhat ambient shadows.
Winter's Embrace
The creator of this robe is said to reside in Calaring the Everlight, and has used threads which are imbued with the essence of ice. While wearing this robe, the caster far more resistant cold, and gains the Ice Grip spell as an ability.
Robe of Arcane Regeneration
This robe is made from the finest materials availble, including silk and velvet, and seems to shimmer slightly when light hits it. It is the mana which has been woven into the material by the tailor's assistant. The robe refreshes the magical energies of the caster, and provides a weak form of Magic Armor.
I'll leave it at those few, just to see if there would be any interest in implementing more 'armor' options for those of us who would be far too hindered by leather, chain or plate gear. I did not add any prices, since that would be best left up to the administrators, given the magical properties of some robes. I also don't have any graphical options currently, but could find them and add them if this would be a considered suggestion.
Kieraline - September 22, 2006 06:10 PM (GMT)
To go along with the whole suggestion for robes that I posted earlier, I also started putting together an idea for a set of elemental armor, like the deity sets, but for those of any alignment or school of magic, etc.
Arcane Vestments
This is a set of seven pieces, designed for those who have mastered the knowledge of the arcane arts. Each piece has its own individual energy, granting the wearer certain spells as passive abilities. When the entire set of seven pieces is worn, the wearer becomes more resistant against all schools of magic and gains an aura that resembles the spell Improved Magic Armor. This aura creates a faint, pale blue glow around the edges of the caster.
Arcane Robes of Mastery
This robe is made of fine black silk and is embroidered with the symbols of each school of magic around the edge of the sleaves and down the panels of the robe to the ground. It is made in a way that it will not restrict movement in any way, both by the style it is cut in, and the fact that it moves with the wearer in every way. The wearer of this robe is able to infuse the garment with one protection spell, or other passive spell. The caster must already have this spell.
Arcane Bracers of the Elements
These bracers strengthen the wearers affinity to the elements of nature, causing all spells used by the caster to be slightly more powerful, and have a better chance of succeeding as they are meant to. The wearer also feels less drained when casting nature spells.
Arcane Mantle of the Healer
This golden threaded mantle rests lightly over the shoulders of the wearer, granting them a Holy Aura or Unholy Aura, depending on their alignment. While wearing this mantle, all healing spells, including Dark Regneration are strengthened slightly.
Arcane Gloves of the Summoner
The wearer of these gloves is able to infuse them with any one summoning spell, making it so that all they must do to perform that summoning is to snap their fingers. The caster must own the spell they wish to have infused into the gloves. Also, all summonings done while wearing these gloves will produce slightly stronger minions.
Arcane Hood of the Psionicist
While wearing this cowl, the caster is granted the effects of Concentration. Also, all spells from this school of magic that have a duration of effect will last a bit longer, and other spells will be slightly enhanced in strength.
Arcane Slippers of the Time Shifter
These slippers make the caster immune to the effects of Slow. They also grant the user the ability to advance forward in time by thirty minutes once per week. When using this ability, those around the caster simply see them 'blink' out of sight, as if they had simply disappeared. When appearing, it's as if the caster had just removed a cloak of invisibility.
Arcane Cloak of Shadows
This cloak has a passive ability to shield the wearer from non-magical sight. During the daylight hours, it grants the wearer Improved Invisibility, while during the nighttime hours, it grants the wearer Cloak of Dark Power.
Kieraline - September 22, 2006 07:27 PM (GMT)
Mageblade of the Moon
This blade is made of a special metal found only on Isiltelpë, which gives the blade a very light weight and an odd color. A faint silvery blue glow runs the length of this blade. The metal is not nearly as strong as many more common materials, making it an unlikely blade for those who engage in physical combat, but it is infused with magical energies which increase all celestial spells, especially those relating directly to the moon.
Mageblade of the Sun
This blade is made of a special metal found in the pieces of sun that have either broken free and come down on Arda or were drawn down by an elementalist. Tiny flames ripple along the blade, though they do not burn the owner of it. The metal is not nearly as strong as many more common materials, but it is infused with magical energies which increase all celestial spells, especially those relating directly to the sun.
Celestial Mageblade
This blade is forged of both celestial metals, which does nothing to increase its strength for melee combat, but does enhance the magical properties and gives equally stronger casting skill with both sun and moon related spells. The blade is constantly lit with blue flames, a physical showing of both essences. This is a rare blade, due to the fact that the two types of metal are very much opposite, and therefore, the smith who works them together must have great talent. Note: This blade cannot be created by forging a Sun and Moon blade together.
Zenith Meria - September 24, 2006 03:44 AM (GMT)
Axe of Light - A very lightweight Axe that is able to cut through all metals except Adamantium and Mythril. It is also effected with the blur spell making the Axe harder to see while in swing. Lastly, this axe may fire a blast of Light energy from its blade.
Think of this as Mazzers version of the brother blades, to make a twist in them and have an axe so all may have a brother blade for their own needs.
Kieraline - September 25, 2006 01:43 PM (GMT)
Circlet of Pure Thought
This delicate circlet offers little protection from physical attacks, but does grant the user some defense against many scrying effects.
Tiara of the Will Shaper
This tiara is set with tiny crystals flecks from a broken scrying ball. It is said that the tiara enhances all spells from the psionic sphere, allowing the user to exert less energy when using such spells. Also, all spells are slightly enhanced in their power and clarity.
Obsidian Nocturne - September 25, 2006 01:59 PM (GMT)
Since we have a mage's hammer.. we might as well have ...
Mage's arrows / Mage's bolts- arrows that would have to be enchanted with a specific spell. Once the effects have been discharged, these would have to be re-enchanted again.
cost: 200 gold
Obsidian Nocturne - September 26, 2006 02:43 PM (GMT)
Bow/Crossbow of Augmentation - Augments the effects of enchanted arrows for the better, increasing their range of damage. Eg. If the fire in a typical fire arrow is merely limited to a four-inch radius around its tip, with the Bow/Crossbow of Augmentation, its scope is extended to a good 15 inch radius, turning the attack to a full-blown fireball.
Tetra Hikaru - September 26, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
More weapons for Pirates :D And maybe some lightweight, yet powerfull armour for us too?
Weapon Example:
Cannons: Can only be purchased if you own a large ship. These large cannonball guns can be shot from your boats.
Armour:
Fury of the sea set:
In total this set would make the person wearing get healed by water spells and able to withstand strong winds.
Zenith Meria - September 28, 2006 05:39 PM (GMT)
Gaia Sheild - This sheild is able to form thorns all over and fire them out when needed.
Obsidian Nocturne - September 30, 2006 12:02 PM (GMT)
Armour of Morphing - Protects the torso and limbs like a second skin following every curvature like a suit of leather. It however magically reduces damage to by a fourth of its original value.
Obsidian Nocturne - October 3, 2006 04:34 PM (GMT)
Polelyn of Swiftness - such pair of leg armour is enchanted with the ability to be weightless in spite of the mithril protection it provides. The wearer of which also gains Lightning Agility.
Obsidian Nocturne - October 4, 2006 04:57 AM (GMT)
More leg armour!
Greaves of Fatality - a highly durable pair of lower leg armour that fortifies the strength of one's calves with draconic power, allowing one to deliver devastating kicks of almost otherworldly proportions. One might even be able to break through walls depending on the gravity of one's will to destroy.
Rallika - November 13, 2006 09:13 AM (GMT)
Weapon: ShadowScythe
This scythe curses any victim that is hit so that to them everything is sped up while really the person is just slowed down. Also at the time of death to a victim darkness envelops the scythe and when it strikes the killing blow the soul is trapped in the scythe, strengthening any evil aligned spells.
Tithy - November 14, 2006 11:40 PM (GMT)
Here's a rather new one I cooked up:
Seeker Bow
Arrows fired from this bow will seek an enemy indicated by the user. The enemy must be in sight, and the bow must be pointed at the target the entire time. If the bow is taken off target, the arrow will go wild and miss.
Zenith Meria - December 14, 2006 02:26 AM (GMT)
Cosmos Blade: The ultimate blade of light, this blade can cast Falling Stars, Sun Beam, and solar flare. The blade also acts like the moon beam spells since it has a constant glow within it.
Tyrande - December 14, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
Sword of Light and Shadow - A sword forged by a follower of Threnody, the Animus. (The idea was it will be in the Threnody's bazaar, but if not, you can just remove this sentence >_< ) The blade shows the perfect balance between light and shadow. While one edge of this sword glows with the light of the sun, the other edge is dark as the obscure caves of Ungol Felas. If hit with the light side of the blade, the opponent won't see clearly for 5 seconds and if hit with the dark side of the blade the opponent will feel slight loss of balance. But the sword has his own will, sometimes the wielder can feel the same effect like he/she was being hit, this will happen if the wielder is not at balance.
P.S.
The Picture of the sword I found a wallpaper, cut the sword and colored the backround to match the board color, if you want me to resize it or anything just ask. And sorry if there are any mistakes here it is 2 in the morning and I am sleepy
Alba Meria - December 18, 2006 03:15 PM (GMT)
Phoenix Blade: This blade has the power of the phoenix within. Meaning the blade can erupt in raging Phoenix Flames and has the spell Summon Phoenix as well.
Demetrio Vasquez - December 19, 2006 03:19 AM (GMT)
Poleyns. Just normal ones since there are none in the armor shops.
Karas - December 19, 2006 06:09 PM (GMT)
Basilisk Fang Blade-This sword is created from a basilisk fang and is coted in a poison that never fades. When a person is cut with it, it cuases a burning sensation and itching as well and if the cut is not treated will cause death. This blade also has the power to summon up one basilisk from anywhere on the ground. The basilisk stays for only four posts and can only be used twice in a topic.
Demetrio Vasquez - December 20, 2006 06:14 AM (GMT)
Flaming Gauntlets: A pair of Gauntlets which are heat resistance and can burst into flame at will. Causes devastating punches.
Alba Meria - December 20, 2006 12:51 PM (GMT)
Chaos Katar - A Katar infused with the power of chaos, the Katar is enchanted with the Bone Breaker spell making it easy to do damage onto your enemy.
Lothlómendil - December 21, 2006 03:43 AM (GMT)
Alright, enough debating the suggestions, leave the judging up to me and give me less junk to sort through when reading, eh? :p Get back to RPing to gain your totals for today's competition :poke:
Darkfire - December 23, 2006 10:36 PM (GMT)
How about armor that goes on the full arm and hand?
Like:

This (without the holes)
or a claw:
Alba Meria - December 26, 2006 05:53 AM (GMT)
Ok i remember Loth was asking for a pic of Scale Mail, will this do???
Lothlómendil - December 26, 2006 06:50 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that's not bad. Even better would be a link to the site that the image came from :shifty:
Dark Wraith - December 26, 2006 05:13 PM (GMT)
We need more mage armor. We've got lots of melee armor, but not very much mage stuff.
Cape of Smite: Adds power to the caster's shadow, fire, and other evil-aligned spells. Gives intensity to any dark latent spells.
Paladin's Cape: Adds power to the caster's holy, celestial, and other good-aligned spells. Gives intensity to any good latent spells.
Nature's Cape: Adds power to the caster's elemental spells. Adds intensity to any elemental latent spells.
Cloak of Chaos: Gives the wearer protection from holy, celestial, and other good-aligned spells. Does not grant invulnerablility, but will detract from the force/effectiveness of good-aligned spells.
Cloak of Light: Gives the wearer protection from shadow, fire, and other evil-aligned spells. Does not grant invulnerablility, but will detract from the force/effectiveness of evil-aligned spells.
Necromancer's Robes: Robes infused with evil magic. Adds great force to any evil-aligned spells. Similar to the Cape of Smite, but more powerful. Also gives some protection from good-aligned magic, but not as much as the Cloak of Chaos. Even mightier if worn in conjunction with the Cape of Chaos. Cannot be worn by good or neutral aligned players.
Holy Robes: Robes infused with holy energy. Adds great force to any good-aligned spells. Similar to the Paladin's Cape, but more powerful. Also gives some protection from evil-aligned magic, but not as much as the Cloak of Light. Even mightier if worn in conjunction with the Paladin's Cape. Cannot be used by evil-aligned players.
Robes of Nature: Robes infused with elemental properties. Adds great force to any elemental spells. Similar to Nature's Cape, but more powerful. Even mightier if worn in conjuntion with Nature's Cape.

Idrael Sygran - December 28, 2006 05:16 PM (GMT)
I actually had a few ideas, but since I forgot to write them down I might not remember them all right away. Most of what I had in mind dealt with start-up equipment, though, so it’s all pretty strait-forward.
There’s a lot of swords, but not much else. When I first registered I’d thought about making a barbarian, but there was no battle axe in the startup. So I got depressed because a barbarian isn’t a barbarian without a massive axe in one hand and a sword in the other. v.v So like, maybe change it to where there’s a short sword, a longsword/broadsword or katana, two handed sword, battle axe, a spear/staff, and bow/crossbow. That would cover more bases and people’s preferences. Also, on those same lines, there’s no start-up armor. >>; A leather cuirass might be cool to have in the beginning, or maybe even scale-mail.
Also, a dagger and cloak given automatically to each character at startup would be pretty simple. That way, no matter what, each character would have something to build on. Then, for mages I think it might be cool if the startup magics could have maybe a fireball or something. Maybe even put magic missile up there so they’d have a bit more of a balance instead of having to wait and then go buy their magic later.
Anyway, I think that’s all I had in mind. I just kind’ve thought if startup had a bit more selection it might draw more people to making new characters.
Dark Wraith - January 9, 2007 05:27 PM (GMT)
Rapier: A long, thin sword with a slight curve and a single-edged cutting blade. Has an ornate, protective hand guard with a decorative tassle. Typically wielded by wealthy nobles or even kings.
Cutlass: Carried by all manner of sailors, it makes an excellent weapon in close-quarters combat. Short, sharp, heavy, and lethal. Has a large curve.
Scimitar: Normally carried by horsemen. Long and has a pronounced curve. The blade is thick, making it sturdy and heavy.
I was also thinking of suggesting firearms. Nothing ornate, just basic firearms such as crude muskets and pistols. They would take a long time to load, and would be innacurate over long distances. Muskets would have a range of about 300 yards, and pistols possibly 150 yards. Flintlock actions, with firing caps and black powder. Deadly over very short distances, but inneffective over long distances.
Lothlómendil - January 17, 2007 12:25 PM (GMT)
Sorry, but Arda will never have advanced weapons like guns. Also, we have scimitars and other basic things you've suggested. Reforgings can also change the basic type of sword you have if you want. This topic is intended for special weapons and armor that cannot already be obtained in some way.
Silvexian - January 19, 2007 04:08 AM (GMT)
The Chemical Zodiac. A spear that is a blood red color, and is also longer and more powerful than most spears.
Dark Wraith - January 22, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
Shadow Armor:
This armor is perfect for thieves or shadow dwellers. When the full set is worn, it grants the wearer the Move Silently, Pick Pocket, Escape Artist, and Great Agility skills. It is crafted of hardened black leather that has been enchanted such that it is as hard as plates, but as light as normal leather armor. The Cloak of Dark Power spell can be cast when the full set is worn.
Shadow Armor: The upper body portion of the set, it protects the torso and upper arms. Also has a tall collar to protect the neck. Grants the wearer the Escape Artist skill when worn.
Shadow Legs: The lower half of the set armor, this covers the legs. They are as hard as plate armor, but very flexible, allowing the wearer to move with ease. When worn with the Shadow Boots, it grants the wearer the Move Silently skill.
Shadow Bracers: Covers the fore-arms. Has black steel clasps at one end to attach the Shadow Gloves. When worn with the Shadow Gloves, it grants the wearer the Pick Pocket skill.
Shadow Gloves: Very flexible gloves, these allow for almost total freedom of movement. They are designed so that the wearer barely even notices them. They have clasps at the wrists to attach them to the Shadow Bracers. When worn with the Shadow Bracers, it grants the wearer the Pick Pocket skill.
Shadow Boots: Thick boots, they never squeak and are designed to muffle the sound of the wearer's footsteps on almost any surface. When worn with the Shadow Legs, it grants the wearer the Move Silently skill.
Shadow Helm: Cover's the wearer's entire head, save for his eyes. When worn, it grants the wearer the Great Agility skill.
Weapons Suggestions:
Flame Dagger: Similar to the Flame Cutlass, this sturdy little blade is made entirely out of flames. Cuases normal physical damage for a dagger, but also causes fire damage and the wounds burn painfully. Will not burn the wielder.
Infected Blade: Appears to be a normal longsword. However, any wounds it makes will instantly begin to fester and become infected. Can only be healed with magic. Even after the wounds are healed, the infection often kills the tissue very fast, leaving painful scarring.
Giant's Longsword: An enormous broadsword that is five inches thick and six feet long. However, this blade is made out of mythril and is enchated so that it is incredibly light. This allows the wielder to swing the huge blade quickly and preciesly, making for devastating attacks. (Think Cloud's sword from Final Fantasy)
Alba Meria - January 30, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)
Earth Spear: A mighty spear that lets the user cast earthquake instantly from the blade.
Demetrio Vasquez - January 31, 2007 08:07 AM (GMT)
The Divine Bow: A glowing bow which coats all projectiles with a white flame that provides a devastating attack of holy power.
Alba Meria - January 31, 2007 10:14 PM (GMT)
Shield of Judgement - This mighty shield can create a barrier around the user to protect against all magical attack for 5 mins. Effect may only be used once per topic
Puppet Boy - February 1, 2007 12:55 AM (GMT)
Weapons that allow for more sockets to be installed.

That might be unfare, since the socket system lets you make your own weapons within a limit
Emm...
Nightshade Katana: The blade of this mighty Katana is made from nothing more than darkness itself.

Armor Suggestions:
I have noticed that, aside from plate armor, there is not much made out of mithril, rune, or adamentium.
Mithril plated gauntlets: A set of Masterwork plate gauntlets that are made out of mithril and thus almost indestructible.
Adamentium plated gauntlets: A set of Masterwork plate gauntlets that are not quite as strong as mithril, but second-best and have a darker look to them.
Rune plated gauntlets: A set of Masterwork plate gauntlets that are cheaper and third-best to the mithril gauntlets.
Mithril plated boots: A pair of Masterwork plate boots that are made out of mithril and thus nearly indestructible.
Adamentium plated boots: A pair of Masterwork plate boots that are made out of adamentium. They are not quite as strong as mithril, but second-best and have a darker look.
Rune plate boots: A pair of Masterwork plate boots that are not as strong as mithril, but cheaper and third-best.
Mithril poleyn: A pair of mithril leggings that protect the knees, lower thighs, and shins. Nearly indestructible, but are jointed at the knees for easy movement.
Adamentium poleyn: A pair of adamanetium leggings that protect the knees, lower thighs, and shins. Not quite as strong as mithril, but second-best and has a dark look to it.
Rune poleyn: A pair of runite leggings that protect the knees, lower thighs, and shins. Not as strong as mithril, but third-best and much cheaper.
Mithril plated belt: A masterwork plated belt made out of mithril. Nearly indestructible, and protects the abdomen.
Adamentium plated belt: A masterwork plated belt made out of adamentium. Not quite as strong as mithril, but second-best and has a dark look to it.
Rune plated belt: A masterwork plated belt made out of rune. Not as strong as mithril, but cheaper and third-best.
Mithril aventail: A plated skirt made out of mithril. Nearly indestructible, and protects the upper thigh area. Must own a belt of some kind to use.
Adamentium aventail: A plated skirt made out of adamentium. Not quite as strong as mithril, but second-best and has a darker look to it. Protects the upper thigh area. Must own a belt of some kind to use.
Rune aventail: A plated skirt made out of rune. Not as strong as mithril, but cheaper and third best. Protects the upper thigh area. Must own a belt of some kind to use.
Mithril bracers: A pair of masterwork bracers made out of mithril. Nearly indestructible, and protects the wrist and lower arms.
Adamentium bracers: A pair of masterwork bracers made out of adamentium. Not quite as strong as mithril, but second-best and has a darker look to it. Protects the wrist and lower arms.
Rune bracers: A pair of masterwork bracers made out of rune. Not as strong as mithril, but cheaper and third-best. Protects the wrist and upper arms.
Rune helm: A masterwork full helm made out of rune. Not as strong as mithril, but cheaper and third-best. Protects the head, face, and neck.
Since this is a long list, perhaps to list it in the shops, you could format it something like this:
Masterwork Bracers:
Normal: Price
Rune: Price
Adamentium: Price
Mithril: Price
-----
Also, I was thinking that perhaps we could sell normal armor in sets. These would go for the normal buying price of all the armor individually, possibly minus a small discount. Similar sets could be made for the armor suggested above if it is implemented.
