Title: Training
Description: open to all

Zeath - December 18, 2005 09:03 PM (GMT)
He stood on a tree stump shirtless with his katana drawn, he pulled it across his body and lifted his right leg balancing with needle like presition. He had traviled for a long time untill he found this wood, it provided sollice for him and so he took time to journy through it training in the comfort of the trees. This was what he loved the most the tranquility of the wind the solid earth and the damp mist that hung hazy in the air.

He began to move once more concentraiting on the fluidity and the slowness of each subtle change in his bodys stance, he had been trained to do this and so he would still do it untill there was no strengh left in his body. He lowered his katana and let it rest in one hand, then suddenly he span on his left foot bringing it close into his body. He let it fly past him, embedding it into the earth 50 foot away. He could have let it hit a tree but it was the very thing he trained to defend.

He hopped nimbly down and walked slowly over to it and pulled it gently from the ground. There he sat his legs crossed katana resting across his knees, he closed his mind and began to consentrate on his sences. Then he heard it, near by somthing moved. He shifted his hands fromt he ground onto his katana one on the hilt the other on top of the point at the end, and still with eyes closed his listend.

Menali - December 18, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
Menali hid behind a leaf as she saw the barbarian stir. She hoped he hadn't noticed her. If he had, hopefully he wouldn't hurt her.

Menali stood on a little branch so her wings wouldn't make any sound, and folded her arms across her chest. She had just been flying through the wood like she usually did. It helped her feel more connected with her element of Nature. Then she had seen this barbarian, who seemed to be training. She had never seen him around here before, so she observed him from afar.

Menali had always tried to stay away from those who were larger than her for fear of getting hurt since she was so small. But, there was an advantage to being small. She could spy on other creatures and they probably wouldn't notice that she was even there.

She giggled. She could be very mischevious when she wanted to. She punched a hole in the leaf with her tiny little fist so she could watch him without being seen.

Zeath - December 19, 2005 08:52 AM (GMT)
Zeath stayed perfectly still after his last movements trying to pinpoint the sound, it was so small and could be anything but it helped him to enhance his other sences.

There was some one out there whatching him... but where and who was somthing he needed to find out. If it was an elf he would rend its head from its shoulders. Then he heard it, a giggling it was near by and high pitched.

He used the sound to find its location. Opening his eyes he pulled the Katana across his knees and with his right hand he pointed it squarly at the bush in which [Menali] was hiding, not the leaf but the center of the plant.

"I know your there.... Are you a forest dweller or one who would take what is not yours from me or nature?"

He stared at the bush with his compleatly green eyes peicing the like wise canopy, they began to leave a green trail in the air as he moved. He did not like to be spyed on, it was an elf trick.

He keeped his sword flat to a near perfect degree and continued. "Come out or I will find you."

Menali - December 19, 2005 02:53 PM (GMT)
Menali ducked under the leaf. Alright, now if she just came out and told him who she was, maybe he wouldn't hurt her.

Menali slowly flew out from the bush. She flew toward him, but still trying to keep her distance. Once she was where he could see her, she began to speak.

"I am a fairy. My name is Menali. I'm not trying to take anything from you. I... just... I was just wondering what you were doing here... because I haven't seen you here before," she said, trying to sound calm.

She eyed the katana that he was pointing at her and gulped.

Zeath - December 19, 2005 05:06 PM (GMT)
As soon as the word fairy escaped her lips he relaxed, as mischivius as they were they would not harm the forest, thats all that matterd to him. He drew the katana in close to him and sheathed it gently.

"A fairy. I am truly sorry if i startled you, you are not my enemy and it is only fair for you to wonder who intrudes upon this area. I am Zeath it is a name i do not wish to keep for very long but it has been my name since I was born"

He rose to his feet and streched out a hand to Menali. Fairys were rarly evil if only just a bit anoying as far as his knoledge could tell and as he had thaught the forest was there home and would not destroy it.

"It is good to meet you Menali.

His eyes returned to there original emeralde state, the trails vanishing into the air.

Menali - December 19, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)
Menali smiled and shook his finger so to shake his whole hand.

"It's good to meet you, too," she said.

Thank goodness he didn't hurt her. Fairies were sometimes mistaken to be evil and that's why Menali always did her mischeif in secret. She repositioned her bow on her shoulder and spun around in the air.

"So, what brings you to this wood?" she asked the human named Zeath.

She lied on her stomach on the air and rested her chin on her hands. She was always very curious, which made her get in trouble all the time.

Zeath - December 19, 2005 10:47 PM (GMT)
"The forest gives me my life and it is my home, any forest any tree is my home... I do not like being in the open it worrys me i prefer to be enclosed by trees...And what about you? Do you live here?"

As far as he knew fairys lived in forests... or was that sprites...? He squated down so as to be at eye level with the hovering fairy. He stared intently at her, wondering about who she was and most thing about her past. He knew no one after he deserted the elves employ, or controle depending on you point of view.

He was unsure as to how this would go and what would happen after they left but he was enjoying it for now. Trees may be life giving but unless they harbour a driad they werent much for talking. In fact she was the only person he had talked to in about a month.

Menali - December 20, 2005 03:05 AM (GMT)
Menali turned upside down. She always liked to show off her flying skills to new people. Especially those who couldn't fly.

"Yes. I sure do live here. So do all the other fairies I know. Also, being in the open is good. It's quite hard navigating with all these trees in the way. But, it's my home." Menali paused for a second. She turned upright and cocked her head to the side. Then she chuckled. He must not have ever seen a fairy before.

"By the way, what are you looking at?" she asked him.

She didn't want to sound rude, because she wasn't trying to be rude, so she flashed him a smile with her very white teeth. That was her smile that called for peace.

Zeath - December 20, 2005 12:24 PM (GMT)
"Sorry if i am staring... i havent actualy seen another person in so long." He moved away, stood up and walked around.

Maybe she didnt want him here... he couldnt tell he was no good at reading peoples eyes and expretions. If she didnt he could make a friend, one who was also a friend to the forest.

Walking over to the tree stup he had been practising on he sat, unslinging his katana he placed it on the floor gently. He had always been taught to look after what he owned.

"So what do you do Menali? Do you fight?" It sounded like a stupid question but even fairys had enemys.

Menali - December 20, 2005 11:19 PM (GMT)
Menali laughed as she took her bow and glided her hand over it. Then she flew closer to the barbarian and stood on his knee.

"Occasionally. Besides, it's not like my little arrow could kill a large human like you. I also fight if I'm being attacked or someone is harming nature," she said. Then she looked back up at Zeath.

"That's also why I was spying on you. I care alot about my home and I want to protect it," she explained.

She put her bow back on her shoulder and crossed her arms over her chest. This was the first time she hadn't played a trick on a human. She thought that humans were gullible, but this one sure wasn't. She might even become friends with him, if she was lucky.

After thinking this, she remembered someting. Her parents didn't approve of her being around humans. They thought they were bad influences. But Menali had been around humans plenty of times and she knew how they were. They certainly weren't as quick-witted and fun-loving as fairies.

"And what about you? Do you fight often?" she asked him.

Zeath - December 21, 2005 12:39 PM (GMT)
"I do not mind that you spyed on me it is only right that you do what you must to protect your home, and to answer your question I do fight in fact it is all that i know but I am never the agressor and I fight only to protect the forest."

He looked down at menali, who was standing on his knee. She was either brave or stupid most humans didnt like fairys at all and would probably have tryed to kill her. She probably knew this yet she stood so boldy on his knee. She intrieged him, he wished he would get a chance to see her again.

"I hear voices.... not so far away...." And indeed voices were drifting throught the trees, human voices that fell together so no actual words could be made out.

He lent down and carfully so as not to knock menali off his knee and picked up his katana. Grasping it in his left and he looked back at her.

Menali - December 21, 2005 02:38 PM (GMT)
Menali flew off his knee and strained her little ears.

Yes. There were voices. Human voices, no doubt. But she couldn't make out what was being said. She couldn't even tell if they were large or small humans. She looked back at Zeath.

"Can you hear what they're saying?" she whispered, so she wouldn't take away from hearing those voices. "Are they large or small?"

Menali saw his katana in his hand and she picked up her bow off her shoulder.

Zeath - December 22, 2005 02:45 PM (GMT)
"I can not hear them clearly, I think they are men." He drew out his katana a small way, the blade reflecting the sky in its pollished dimentions. He looked down at her drawn bow and smilled, she was right such a small arrow would do little to a man but she was braver than most.

"I am sure they mean no harm." He reasured her but in his own eyes the desition was already made up, most humans were destroyers of the earth who befouled it for there own gain.... much like the dwarfs who uprooted whole forest to feed their wicked forges.

Chrono - December 22, 2005 08:04 PM (GMT)
"hmmm I wonder what to do now" he was tracking a deer that had fled into the forest. he found it but unfortunetly the wolves got it first. so he continued forward. he was hearing voices. "well I hope their not hostile." he continued untill they were in sight. he knelt down by the fairy. "wow a fairy. I havent seen one of you in ages. how does life treat you" he really was surprised.

Zeath - December 22, 2005 10:18 PM (GMT)
Zeath scooped um Melani with his right hand as gently and respectfully as he could, moving her away from [chrono]. He was wary of this man he was bold and brash, he had no respect. "What is your biusness here?" His eyes turned emerald green and began to glow, he was not angry yet but just wary of this human.

He held his katana in his left hand still sheathed but ready. "You were hunting wernt you, hunting the animals of the forest." He did not like it when humans hunted, they who destroyed the forest to biuld their farms still felt the need to kill yet more of natures stock. He held the katana at an angle and let the sheath slip off and drop to the floor. The blade now naked to the sun, relects the green of the forest canopy flashing in the dappled sunlight.

Menali - December 31, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
((OOC: Sorry, I was on vacation for a few days. But I'm back now.))

Menali kind of lost her footing as Zeath picked her up. But once she saw who he was looking at, she pointed her arrow at the strange person. A half-dragon, no doubt.

She looked sideways at Zeath to tell him to loosen up just a bit. It probably wasn't a good ting to start threatening somebody before you even knew them. They might be nice people. But still, you always had to have a keen eye for detail just in case.

Menali hardened her stare. Her eyes turned darker green and the area around her eyes began to turn black.

"Who are you and what do you want here?" she asked [Chrono].

She was prepared to be nice and prepared to fight at the same time. You could never be sure in these woods.

Chrono - December 31, 2005 06:19 PM (GMT)
he looked at the fairy and then to the man.
"do I need a reason to be in the woods. after all, the woods are free to all creatures. so I don't really see the point in interogating me.
He teleported behind the man.

Menali - December 31, 2005 06:38 PM (GMT)
Menali turned and looked at the half-dragon, then lowered her bow just a little bit.

"All we want to know is if you are here to harm the woods. It is our home, and we only wish to protect it," she said to him.

Menali had never met anyone as stubborn as her. And now, it seemed, she had. But that didn't mean she should back down.

Menali wasn't easily scared, unless someone larger than her whipped out a large weapon and started threatening her. She kept her eyes hardened to show that he was not intimidating her, although deep down inside she was a tad bit frightened. What would happen if he was here to harm the woods and he decided to kill anyone who gets in his way? Or would he put up a fight? But still, he could just be like her where he was stubborn and just did that to show that he wasn't fearful.

Well, hopefully, she would find out soon.

Chrono - December 31, 2005 06:51 PM (GMT)
"of course I'm not here to harm the woods. for goodness sake. the woods are the key to life it self. the trees provied the oxigen we breath. the woods are more precious than anything else in the world. they provied homes for birds and other creatures. so I just don't see why I would harm them. some people seem to think less of them and I have very little respect for them.

Raven Silverflame - January 1, 2006 06:09 AM (GMT)
Raven perched on a branch (in eagle form). She looked around to see if it was all right to change into her normal form. She was about to change when she noticed two people. She stared at them. One was a fairy and the other was...well, a man.

She sighed. A fairy was all right with her, but she wasn't sure about this man. She decided to fly closer for a better look.
