Vaul - July 17, 2007 04:59 PM (GMT)
As the quickly gathering crowd grew ever louder, the echoes of a time gladly forgotten now rang clear as the dawn bells within Vaul's mind. He stood there weeping at the horrific sight which stood before him, clawing at his eyes and tearing at his soul. The sight of the inn; where his beautiful daughter had been left asleep only an hour ago; ablaze, lighting the night sky with its crimson terror.

Many in the crowd rushed about trying to bring water and gravel to try and extinguish the inferno, but to no avail. The flames had caught hold and were successfully reducing the once grand inn to a charred husk. Vaul looked down at the blistered and seared flesh of his hands where he had tried desperately to claw his way into the building to rescue his sweet Calli. It had taken four men to drag him back from the brink of the inferno and hold him down as Vaul raged at them to let him go.

Eventually despair had gripped the warrior and his fury had relented. Confusion and grief had come swiftly after. Memories of his long dead wife came flooding back to him; nightmares of a torched farmhouse and burnt bodies returned to blend in with new horrors that assaulted Vaul's mind. How could fate be so cruel as to rob him of his family twice... and in the same cruel way?

Vaul rose to his feet; his eyes red from tears and smoke; his skin burnt and sore. Gazing up at the flame covered room that had once housed his daughter; Vaul could feel his anger rising once more. But not the anger that he was used to... no, this was a fury he had not felt for many years... since his days as the Avatar of Wrath. Somebody would pay dearly for this crime; this sin against heaven itself. To destroy a life so pure was unforgivable. Vaul took one last look at the blaze and with a prayer to Kieraline to watch after his daughter's soul, Vaul turned and strode off into the crown, seeking the only person he had seen escape the hell that had robbed him of the only family he had left.

Ferentus Had barely made it out of his own Inn. The fire had aught him off guard and he had to abandon all his money and belongings except for his cloak and Katana. He saw as a man cried for his daughter. Ferentus felt guilty he couldn’t save anyone. Ferentus watched as four men grabbed him and pulled him back. Ferentus bowed his head and wiped one stray tear from his eye. He felt it was his fault he had not been able to save her. He watched as men and women along with other strange creatures ran or flew for water and went back to take out the fire.
"Who could do such a thing as to kill someone’s daughter?" Ferentus taught to himself. He slowly strolled over to the man who had just lost his daughter.
"I am sorry...Is there anything I can do to help you through this?" ferentus said to the man in a low tone. He would do almost anything he could do in his power to help him. After all is was partly his fault for not getting any people out. He brushed off the particles of smoke and debris off his cloak. He hoped the man would not blame him for the loss of his daughter. He felt sorry for the people who had did this because they were going to be hunted down by this man, or at least he thought so.

Ploay - July 19, 2007 01:27 PM (GMT)
Happy was the white dove in the night dark blue tainted sky as her small wings moved in the air as if they were dancing. White feathers slicked down the small bird’s body while bushy feathers crowded the belly. With bushy feathers at the belly it would appear that the dove carried slight weight witch was amazing since it flew so elegantly as if it didn’t weight one piece of hay. Small smooth feathers covered the elegant bird’s head, leaving it to be very smooth to the touch. The dove’s swift body flew low in the crowd, moving to its side whenever she had to squeeze though the crowd. Chill of wind seemed to follow the dove’s trail as the dove moved in such speed that one would think she was cutting the air itself. Black jewels of mystery bore into the bird’s skull while flying between different people, watching them registering their movements so they wouldn’t crash into her. Last but not least, the beak held dark tones as wind blew smoothly on such a smooth beak.

She had come there because she could sense that air was being tainted by ash. Which was the cause of flames, and Ploay knew that flames in a city weren’t a good match either. Another thought that creped in her bird like mind was if the fire was caused by someone, or could it be someone left a candle unattended. Mistress of wind ascended above most of the crowd’s heads as she followed the smell of smoke. There were also signs of people carrying buckets of water towards a certain pillar of smoke that her black orbs couldn’t see yet.

Soon sounds of screams ran into her ear drum like a merciless hiss of a snake. Her sensitive ears begged her to turn around and leave as soon as possible; but she couldn’t do that because she had a job to do. Raising herself higher she began to hover over small buildings, and only then did her mysterious jewels lay on the flaming inn. It had been worse than she had thought, it seemed completely taking up in a fiery pit of the unknown. While a small breath of air left her bird body, she dove downward into the street facing the building. People began to pour buckets onto some of the fire that they could safely get to, but Ploay felt that it wouldn’t work. If she didn’t take out the fire then it would take up a lot of the town.

The dove began to slightly glow a small blue as she flew around the inn as fast as her little wings could take her. Luckily the inn wasn’t really big, so extinguishing the flames would be quick and easy. Also if people were still alive in the inn, they could survive the slight suffocation. Besides they were already suffocating by the smoke by now.

A sphere engulfed around the inn, and soon the orange glow shrank than disappeared all together. Once the sphere had finished a small sound of success escaped from the dove’s voice. Now to get rid of that smoke, the dove thought as it stopped encircling the inn to fly just above it. Once hovering above the inn small blue wing like shapes began to rain down from the dove’s body. The affect dissipated the smoke while an odd rain fell downwards. If there were any survivors, and Ploay hoped that there were, they could live long enough to escape. But how long had the fire been raging on?

Before she could even process the though, she frowned at the sight of black wood which would crumble if one would touch it. A few ashen bodies lay inside the inn but she tried not to think about too much. I was too late, a whisper crept into her mind as she descending into the street that held watchers of the disaster. Once her bird feet touched the stony road, her elegant head hung low in respect for the dead.

Nomadae - July 20, 2007 08:49 PM (GMT)
From her high post, Nomadae chuckled lightly. The giant fire was dancing its beautiful waltz around the buildings a few streets away. She could not comprehend the great inferno that lay before her black eyes, but she knew that this was a disaster that would match her own beauty. The fire spread quickly, killing more than was expected. This made Nomadae excited, her stomach full of butterflies in anticipation. This was what her Master wanted. This was what he had asked her to do...

A few months ago, her Master had told her to seek out a particular man who killed the Master's daughter, a very personal task that the Master had set onto her. She was proud and she felt special to be hand-picked for this mission. But when she found the killer, Nomadae was not convinced that he was the murderer. Nomadae had seen many murderers in her lifetime, but none so peaceful as Vaul. Nomadae wanted the whole story. She wanted know exactly what happened that day that the master's daughter died. And she did, thanks to Vaul. Nomadae was entranced by the murderer's story and there were hints to Nomadae's past life, the life that she wanted to remeber, but just couldn't... She was just about to ask about them... But that stupid werewolf came and intervened.

Nomadae decided to leave at that point, but did not want to let her Master down, regarless of the mission. Nomadae had found out that Vaul had an adopted daughter from one of her reliable resources. Of course Nomadae was not going to let this victim go. She would make this as miserable for the father as possible. Convieniently enough, Nomadae also heard from the same reliable source that someone else was hatching a terrible plan for the same person. It took a few days to get the person who she wanted, for there were so many hiding places that he could be found.

But now, her plan was working. And she didn't even feel the horrible guilt of serving two masters. The wonderful emotion of death swelled up inside of Nomadae and she jumped nimbly off her post, and hurried away from the orange inferno, to meet up with her mysterious master. He would give her more orders, even more exciting than the ones she had laid out today. Her hands shook with excitment, her eyes hungry for more bloodshed. Wait, she told herself. Wait for the master's orders...
