There was no sound coming from the port, nothing moving or making a sound. The ground was painted in blood and bodies piled high up in different places, some whole and some chopped up into pieces. Nothing was stolen, nothing was even moved. It was a massacre.

Sasami stood on top of the pole of a nearby ship, covered from head to toe in blood. She had her three and a half foot long sword out, also in a similar situation as her body. Sasami looked around at her handiwork with glee, which would have traumatized a normal woman. She then began to laugh sadistically, her wings beginning to stretch out into the moonlight, red and black mixing with the white light.

Asuke was waiting in a boat with his cloak over him, waiting for the screams to stop. When no more cries could be heard, he crept out of the boat.

This is madness...

When he made his way out of the boat, he looked at the pole to see the being covered in blood.

So that the reason for this massacre, how to get out unseen?

Asuke started to walking away from the massacre.

Sasami stopped laughing, hearing a slight sound in the painful silence. She looked around, trying to find the slightest movement in the port of the dead. Sasami looked to a nearby boat to see a cloaked figure exit its empty hull. ‘I found you’ she thought before lifting off into the air and flying toward him. She landed behind him, making little sound in the process.

Sasami slung her arm around the man’s chest, which would stop him from moving his arms. She then took his sword from him. Finally she surrounded the man with her wings. “I will not harm you, so don’t squirm child” Sasami whispered into his ear. “Is it not beautiful?” she whispered again, pointing to the scene of blood and gore. “Answer me child, what is your name”?

Surprised by the speed and stealth of the being, Asuke decided not to struggle.

"It is impressive. My name is Asuke. Tell me, what is yours?"

Looking at the massacre, he decided to try not to anger the being holding him. He then looked for a escape route, should the chance present itself.

Sasami smiled at the boy's straightforwardness before speaking once again. “Thank you, my name is Sasami. It is a pleasure to meet such an exceptional boy such as yourself” the bloodied angel spoke softly before she began to look at his sword, of course she also held onto him more with her surprising strength to keep him from moving. “What is it that you do Asuke? From your sword I can tell you are no sailor, and you don’t have the look of a pirate to you….so what then?” Sasami asked politely.

"Since you inquire, Sasami, I am a mercenary. I came here by boat and was staying at an inn, when you started your handiwork."

Sasami began to giggle at the thought of the inn. “I am sorry Asuke, but the people of that inn are dead. And as for that matter, everyone is dead....unless I missed a few…” Sasami said before letting go of the boy and lifting away her wings. “I will let you leave, you have intrigued me and I will not kill that which has potential. Here is your sword back” Sasami gave him back his sword with a giggle. “You have my trust, but do not get cocky. One attempt at attacking me will lead to your death” the angel said before walking over to the edge of the dock, looking at her blood covered self.

"I would not think of attacking you. Thank you, and good day."

Then he slid behind a wall nearby and collected his thoughts.

Hmm...I'm kind of surprised I lived.

Looking back at the bloody figure, he wondered what caused her to cause such devastation. All the bloody bodies, one in particular caught his eye. A human dressed similarly to Asuke, carrying the same kind of weapons as well.

Raysal, why didn't you just hide? We could have left together and gotten hired and worked as usual, but you had to help "defend" the people.

"I would not think of attacking you. Thank you, and good day."

Sasami smiled. "Until we next meet, Mercenary Asuke" the angel said before jumping into the cool waters. A minute later Sasami pulled herself back out of the ports waters. Underneath where the blood used to be was a black leather gown with plates of armor on important areas.

Sasami looked around to see that the boy was still here. The angel walked over to Asuke, her wings to wet to fly. She looked down to see a man with similar cloths as the boy, probably a fellow merc, his body chopped up in some places. "I....I'm sorry Asuke....He got in the way when I was blinded by my lust for blood. I couldn't help myself" Sasami said sadly after looking over to Asuke.

Seeing her sad shot a odd sensation through Asuke, almost pain.

"It...I...he was a fool." said Asuke struggling with his own emotions, "Might I ask one question? What triggered your blood lust?"

He wanted to kill her, yet also to forgive her. He could tell she was not always out for blood, as her sadness showed, and he felt pity, for what he did not know.

Sasami looked up at Asuke before speaking. "I was just looking around the port, not looking to do much of anything really. I bumped into a group of men who thought it be good to start a fight over bumping someone. Long story short; I killed them, which caused my adrenaline to start pumping, which set me off to killing everything I saw. I admit I enjoy killing, but not on a large scale like this!" She said while spreading her arms out toward the ples of bodies.

"I calmed down before you came out, I would have killed you too if you hadn't been as skilled a warrior as you are. I'm to tired to fight" Sasami said with a sigh before sitting down on her knees.

"I see, they were very foolish it appears." said Asuke, and he turned away before speaking again, "I may be skilled as you say, but I did nothing while they all died. I hid, normally I have no feelings of anguish from doing something like that, but I feel like a coward now."

Turning around he looked at Sasami, then at the bodies.

To think that this affects me, while countless ones who I've killed never affected me...

"Rest in peace, Raysal."

"It was wise of you, not cowardly. You would have died if you hadn't been smart enough to hide" Sasmi said before smacking a nearby lantern over, causing the piles of bodies to be set aflame. "May you rest in peace, all of you" the angel whispered in prayer before looking to the moon, which began to take in a red glow to it because of the heavy smoke going into the air.

Asuke stared at the bodies devoured them, the smoke rising in the air. All started to seem peaceful.

"This port, who now will inhabit it? It will be empty, desolated, peaceful. To bad I have to leave." said Asuke, then looking at Sasami he said, "You were an angel once weren't you?"

After Sasami had washed the blood off of her he could tell what she was easier.

Sasami smiled. "Yes...I used to be an angel. Now I am one of the fallen, cast out by those who call themselves the people of light" she said before going down on the ground cross legged, thinking of past events.

"I see, I was cast out from the elves." said Asuke slightly smiling as he reminisced about his past, "Why were you outcast?" He was thinking about why Raysal joined him when he was outcast.

"Why were you outcast?"

"I saved a good friend of mine, a little girl, from a large group of humans that lived in the city. I killed them all for traumatizing the girl" Sasami said coldly. "And when I came back with her the counsel had decided to ignore their wrongdoings and instead tried me for the murder of "innocents". After that I was banished, but they had the kindness not to cut off my wings" the angel said, holding back a cry.

"Innocents? Is anyone 'innocent'? I don't think that was just at all. I was outcast by elves because I had no care for the 'innocent' or 'poor'...I killed all the villagers in my anger." said Asuke, then smiling coldly and cruelly said, "They did not deserve it, but I killed them anyway...proving they're point. Ah well, I had no real home, so then I became a mercenary." Then his hands clenched into fists as he held back his hate for those villagers.

"That must be hard, but there is little I can do to help you" Sasami said sadly before reaching her hand out into thespace between them. "Come with me, I have something to show you. Just take my hand and I can show you" the angel asked politly."I promised I would not harm you, and angels always keep there word" Sasami said seriously.

"Hmm...alright." said Asuke, taking Sasami's hand.
'I wonder what she wants to show me. In some ways I wish I could help her, but I can't, and wasn't I always cruel? Now I doubt even my cruelty...no, I must not let myself be blinded by emotion like my father.'

Sasami smiled at Asuke's reluctance, then put hand arm around his waist. "Hold on child" the angel said sweetly before lifting up off the ground and into the air. She then flew higher up untill she was above the port and could see the entire town of Lómëdor. "Look around you, what do you see? Behind it all I mean" Sasami whispered into his ear before pointing down towards the city.

Asuke looked into the town, then said. "Peace, everything at ease, and destruction waiting for it's chance." then turning to Sasami said, "What about you?"
All was peaceful and cheerful in the town, but death was waiting in the shadows.

Sasami frowned before speaking. "I see ignorant bliss. I see people who believe in labling things as "good" or "evil", which is very wrong" the angel said before flipping over, facing toward the moon and stars. "Now what do you see?" Sasami asked coldly, trying to calm down and listen to his views of things.

"Now what do you see?"

"But if labeling things as good and evil is wrong, then what is the difference between a demon and an angel? To answer your question though, I see emptiness and light. What do you see?"
'I wonder...what does she want to get at by this?'

"It is true, some races are known for heroic and evil deeds, but the common folk see all of the race of, for example, demons to be evil. This is a crud example of what I mean" Sasami whispered before continuing. "I see peace and contentment" the angel said calmly before descending back to the port. "You may go as you wish, I will not stop you" Sasami said before letting him go and flying to the top of her standing spot on the top of the boats pole. "May your journey be safe and without death, but I highly doubt that will ever be" Sasami said before staring into the sun, which was beginning to reveal itself.

"Until we meet again, Sasami." said Asuke looking at the angel go to the pole, then he turned and started to walk away. Looking into the new morning sky as he walked, he felt relaxed and content.
