Kennis the Charmer - June 24, 2007 05:12 PM (GMT)
The forest's humidity didn't seem to bother Kennis as much as the vast expanse of the trees themselves. He had been traveling for days in search of some kind of civilization outside his small rut of a town deep in the forest. Maybe his family was right, maybe that self proclaimed 'adventurer' was really just spouting a crock of hogwash for an extra coin. He was too far to head back now, there was no sense to it. Besides, it gave him time to practice his hobby.

The human bent over as he cradled his stomach in discomfort. It was a miracle he didn't feel hungry until now, he ran out of food yesterday. Kennis felt maybe that if he took his mind off of it for a little, he might get the energy to keep moving until he found some kind of place to get food, he wasn't that skilled of a hunter, and it showed. The cloaked human decided to take a seat on a rock in a rather small clearing.. the only discernible way to tell which way was where being a beaten path crossing near the rock he had taken a seat. Kennis set his staff beside him and pulled out 'Ellandrin', the name he called his special homemade instrument. And with a light wisp of his breath, a dualistic melody began to play. A sweet and rhythmic flute mixed with the bass of a trumpet began to fill the meadow. giving him the time to relax and ease his mind. Playing music always DID make him peace at mind.

It may have been foolish to create a beacon to any bandit or predator that may have been near at the time, but Kennis was no traveler, and his sheltered life kept him blissfully unaware of the true danger he might be in.

OOC: just something to start with, feel free to go wherever you want with this. just looking to start off somewhere!

Majik - June 24, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)
Majik carefully slithered around her unsuspecting prey her obsidian black outerscales the perfect camouflage in the shade of the trees despite her ivory white ventral scales, her large lidless yellow eyes seeming to glow in the shadows, she slowly prepared to pounce coiling up like a spring watching her prey hunting insects in the undergrowth, it was quite ironic to think as it was hunting, Rather it was the one being hunted. But then again, that was the world Majik had learned to accept. That there was a reason the gods and goddesses had seen fit to deprive her of company. All her life and food for the last 3 days, and she did not question them, her prey’s ears perked.... But to Majik’s delight, it was too late. she had already launched all 12ft of her body into the air and was wrapping her long tail around its wriggling frame, squeezing until not an iota of motion was allowed for her victim, she made her kill merciful, quickly crushing it into a bloody pulp in what was but a blink of a human eye. she had begun to unhook her jaw in preparation of consuming the jaguar when she felt strange vibrations in the air her tounge flickered out of her maw like a black flamed candle as she headed off in the direction of the oddity carrying her prey in the safety of her coiled body, little did she know what she was experiencing was music

Kennis the Charmer - June 24, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
It had been a few minutes and several songs before he was tempted to get back up and move on... But he wasn't ready to go just yet. the stomach pain returned and caused a hiccup in his beat.. He paused for a moment to hear some rustling deeper to the south.. not by far. Kennis didn't know how long he really stared at the forest, but he was sure it was a good and long while before he decided to shrug it off and sit back down. he looked down at his instrument and started to play another piece. It was probably a mouse.

Majik - June 25, 2007 03:06 PM (GMT)
majik felt the vibrations in the air getting stronger and stronger, she kept following them no matter what got in her way,she found away around it, slithering over fallen trees ducking her way through the various spiderwebs, weaving around the pitfalls and other traps the native shad set for her and anything else they thought they could eat, after half a hour or so he came to a clearing. The naga took a gaze into the clearing, where a human of sorts seemed to emanate those vibrations. It was beautiful, she began to sway her head slightly but not for long, shaking her head out of it... he looked like he could settle a meal for a day or two... but that music... would it continue in her belly? probably not. perhaps she could speak with him... she hadn't interacted in so long that it was almost uncomfortable speaking a common tongue. with a hint of hesitation.. she decided to slither closer to the music. perhaps she could ask how he makes such wonderful music.. and if not, well at least she'll be full for another day or two.

"hello there......" she hissed slowly, trying to remember how humans spoke it was such a strange jilting language "how are you tudai ?" she asked trying hard to make the sounds, her tongue was however not cooperating i was to slender to speak there clumsy language but she endeavored non the less "you make very nice sound......how do it ?" she asked her head going absently minded back into swaying her hood flicking open in a vibrant display of color

Kennis the Charmer - June 25, 2007 03:54 PM (GMT)
As he played, Kennis, didn't expect to be greeted by a giant snake of sorts... He looked down at it's strong arms (?!) and fell off his rock. A snake with arms?! what kind of creature WAS this? He tried to get the speed to run, the initiative to simply move, but all he could really do or say was "s-s-snake.....s-s-snake!" quietly as he simply lied frozen in the forest bed. She was near him... so very close, there was silence for a moment or two before...

"hello there."

He half expected this creature to eat him then and there. for some reason it looked a bit feminine to him, but that was of his own opinion. No sense in giving it a reason to change its mind. "H...hello." he tried to reply without squeaking in a bit of fear. It was his first time out and already he was cornered by a predator.

"how are you tudai?"

Its common tongue had a lot to be desired, but it was acceptable since... well, how would you sound if you had a forked tongue? "um.. no-not too bad... I'm a bit lost and hungry....please don't eat-"

"You make very nice sound....How do it?"

It was almost mesmerizing to see her sway a bit back and forth... she liked...his music? A quite strange situation for Kennis: he had only been playing for a little while and had already gotten a fan of sorts. "you...like my music? I'm hoping to be very good one day, would you like to hear more?" Kennis slowly stood back up from the ground and brushed himself off, keeping his movements slow and predictive so as not to startle the creature. A wisp of his breath coaxed Ellandrin to sing again. It's melodic tones and vibrations filling the air and the snake's ear drums, if it had any that is...

Kennis quietly prayed that the rumor of snake charming wasn't exaggerated...

Majik - June 25, 2007 08:06 PM (GMT)
majik nods happily, swaying slightly to the music as she resumes her jiving attempt at common. "Majik wuld like tuu feel your musik ! Your musik feel very nice to her" She slithers up closer to him once he gets up. "You ungrey ? Wuld you like to share majikies dinner?" She asks sweetly, deciding against eating him and holding out the headless carcass of the jaguar she had caught not long ago "is delisius !" She says and smiles "here haff sum!" She rips off a fore leg and holds it out "is gud for you.." Majik seemed to be a bit nicer with the music playing. And why wouldn’t she? It was very soothing. “So, what bring you heer? What your name?” she asks as she flickers her tongue to the music ad odd intervals her large eyes unblinking "you come tu unt ?"she asks trying to find common ground with her new company

Kennis the Charmer - June 27, 2007 10:15 PM (GMT)
Upon seeing the Jaguar's leg he recoiled a bit.. The smell was a bit atrocious, but then again, nothing dead ever smelled like field of flowers. "uhm... *cough* perhaps we can cook the meal.. if you don't mind." he reaches into his pocket for a little piece of flint before standing up and giving a modest smile to the snake. "wait here. I'll get some fire. then I can play some music while we eat." The human quickly walked off to find some twigs for the fire.

A few minutes passed and soon there was a nice pile of wood in the center of the clearing. with the flint and a bit of dry grass as timber, he used the skill all men have grown familiar with and created fire. Kennis tried to clean off a sharp stick with his clothing, but the leg looked no healthier so he impaled the meat and started to cook, giving a modest smile to the snake.

"you may enjoy the heat, miss... eh... may I inquire for your name milady?"
