Title: Returning to the Land of Men
Description: open to all

Valdearg - December 5, 2005 03:04 AM (GMT)
The wind whipped past his ears as Valdearg flew swiftly high up in the sky, passing through clouds and rays of sunlight without slowing. Eyes scanning the ground for travelers, Valdearg traveled across the immense grasslands. Too long had he been away from the world, staying at his cave, hoping that the problems would go away. Well, now his waiting was over, it was time to do something about it, time to act however he could. Too many of his kind had been annihalated in the last war, it could not be allowed to continue if they hoped to survive. Folding his wings to his sides, Valdearg dove immidiately, dropping like a stone as he raced towards the ground. At the last possible instant his wings snapped open, slowing him enough that his landing was only a light thump on the ground. Looking around to make sure that no one could see him, he quickly cast a spell. His formed shifted, changing shapes like liquid as he shrunk to a fraction of his former size. The wings vanished, and his clawed feet turned into hands and feet with toes. After a few seconds, the spell was done and Valdearg stood up, looking just like any other human.

His pants were a plain black color, no markings of any kind as to who made them; his tunic was a deep green, matching the color of the scales that normally adorn his skin. His boots were scuffed and sturdy, obviously made to be used for traveling. Stretching up to his full height of 6' 1", Valdearg turned to face the direction he had been flying in. It was too close to civilization for him to risk flying now, unless he wanted to become a target for the many dragon hunters that still roamed the land. He doubted that he would make a good first impression by killing at least a half dozen people. The only thing that gave away the fact that he wasn't human were his eyes, they remained a deep golden pupil with a cat-like appearance instead of the rounded pupil that humans had. Well, I'm not going to get anything done by standing here. With that thought, Valdearg began walking, moving with the single-mindedness that tended to characterize dragons.

Chrono - December 5, 2005 04:05 AM (GMT)
He's been wandering ever since he left his sisters grave.
"great I'm lost"this was clear. his stomach growled.
he hasn't eaten for days.opening his bag he finds it a shock that he has no more
meat.
"oh for the love of all things holy. I guess I'm going to hunt. *sigh*

he changes in to his dragon form and begins the hunt. during his flight he spots somthing. "thats odd. that man looks humen but...somthings not right"
he decides that he should check it out he lands a near him careful not to make any sounds. inspecting the man he comes to the conclusion that this man is not humen

"ok now that i know that he is not humen its time to confront." he changes back to a humen. moving close to the man he keeps his hand on his sword hilt.

"hello good sir."

Valdearg - December 5, 2005 04:52 AM (GMT)
A voice startled him, and he spun swiftly to face the source. Another traveler had appeared nearby, one who stood with his hand resting on the hilt of his weapon. Valdearg watched the person carefully, already thinking up what spell he could use for the greatest effect should he be attacked. Still watchful, Valdearg responded in his own voice, a light baritone. "Hello, although I doubt I would qualify as a 'good sir'." Valdearg's eyes kept moving from the man's face to the hilt of his weapon that was still gripped by one hand. Part of him realized that it would serve no purpose to kill this person even if he was attacked, but most of him would feel a sense of justice in whiping out one of the race that had hunted his kind to the ends of the earth. He was fed up with humans and what they represented. A small sigh escaped him, it was going to be a long journey to get through the various towns and villages that he needed to.

A slight breeze picked up, creating ripples on the sea of grass that surrounded the beaten path through the grasslands. A myriad of scents were carried that Valdearg easily recognized. The village he was looking for wasn't that far off, he could smell the cooking fires. Hopefully he would reach it before the end of the day.

Chrono - December 5, 2005 05:21 AM (GMT)
Staring into the mans eyes Chorno slowly came to realize that his thought was
correct. finaly someone who could tell him the truth. his father always told him that whenever he needed help he could always ask a dragon.

My name is chrono. I'm a wandering scholer. you know You really are a little too jumpy. Especialy one who is trying to hide the fact that he is a dragon!

(sorry for it being so short.)

Valdearg - December 6, 2005 12:20 AM (GMT)
"Brisingr!" Valdearg shouted the word, and with a small explosion, a fire elemental appeared. Giving it a silent command, it flew behind this stranger that had spotted him for what he truly was, a dragon. He swiftly discarded the spell he had in mind, selecting another he would use if attacked. Originally, he had been going to try and simply escape from this person, using the spell as a distraction. Now however, he had more on his mind than simply escaping. His eyes were dark as he walked closer to Chrono, never looking at any thing other than the person in front of him. "Are you another dragon hunter that must be taught a lesson? Out to claim a kill, you have bitten off more than you can chew." The elemental hovered behind Chrono, staying there simply to cut off any escape that might be attempted. This conversation was going to end when he chose, not before, and not until his questions were answered.

Despite his anger, he realized that if this person were a dragon hunter, he would either have several friends nearby, or possess powerful magic. If he was going to challange a dragon with only a sword, then he lacked the sense to be a real problem. Killing him would be doing society a favor. Speaking again, Valdearg's voice was softer now, less beligerant as he waited for an answer. "Well, what have you to say? Answer before I lose my patience with you."

Chrono - December 6, 2005 01:29 AM (GMT)
hold on I'm not a dragon slayer. I'm Just a half- dragon searching for information.

he takes his hand off his sword but keeping it ready he askes him the question.

"have you seen my brother Dash. he's been missing for a while.

(sorry for this post being so short.)

Valdearg - December 11, 2005 01:37 AM (GMT)
Valdearg stopped for a moment, judging his words. It would explain how Chrono had picked him out as a dragon, and it also explain the lack of any visible magic. His eyes flicked to the elemental and he sent out a silent command. Without a sound, the elemental dissappeared, returning to it's own plane. Taking a few steps forward, Valdearg stared at the half-dragon in front of him, wondering what had possessed him to come and blatently expose Valdearg like that. With most dragons, they would simply kill you if you knew what they were and you weren't a dragon. Hopefully, Chrono would gain more sense before he met up with any other dragons. Thinking for a few seconds, Valdearg tried to remember the name, wondering if he had ever met Chrono's brother at any time in his life.

"I'm sorry, I have never heard of a Dash before. Unless he traveled close to Lhachlich volcano or he was exceptionally well known for some reason, I doubt that I know him." Valdearg tapped a finger against his cheek, thinking about where Chrono could go to find his lost brother. "He didn't tell you where he was going to be when he dissappeared?" If he had, then that would provide a clue as to where Dash might be. "I don't think I will be able to help you any in your search. I am only one dragon, I can't search all of Imythess."
