Title: The Desert of Lies

Adam Hawk - June 15, 2007 06:10 PM (GMT)
Adam trudged across the desert, his mouth stuck closed from the lack of water. He dared not try drinking at the time for he couldn't get distracted at a time like this. He was on a mission with his fellow evil arrivals, their task was unsure at the moment, for they only knew that a reward would be given to the victor of the challenge. Adam was ready for his task to finish already though, the strange people who had his assemble the band of soldiers clouded his thoughts for could they have been on his side or was this just a trap. All Adam knew at the moment was a reward was involved (or so he thought) and it was waited somewhere in this desert. So he drove up his last his of saliva in him and swallowed. He then opened up his mouth and took a deep breathe, the taste of victory was in the air, or so it seemed.

Augustine - June 15, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
Augustine walked behind the group of people. His mouth was dry from the lack of water, it seemed like they had been walking all day but he truly didn't know he had lost track of time. He looked across the sand wandering what was going to happen next. He wandered why they was out here anyway but maybe they would find some loot.

Adam Hawk - June 15, 2007 06:27 PM (GMT)
Adam stared back at the thief behind him, the person looked so suspicious to him, but that was what all thieves were like, mysterious and evil. Adam was starting to grow fond of the young man, he was older than Adam for sure, but it just seemed to him that the young man was lower than Adam. It seemed that Adam possessed more skill than the other, but it had always been that way, he was always proud of himself and his actions, that is why this journey made Adam lighten up on his character and see that he could still be a leader of some sort instead of a loner. Still even with his leadership skills and needing to be loyal to his comrades, Adam kept the mission purpose a secret. It was the start of many lies that Adam would make. "Don't worry," Adam said , "Our objective is clear and we will be at our destination shortly."

Augustine - June 15, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
Augustine looked to the sky hoping a cloud would pass in front of the sun. He was starting to wander why he had came out here and why he had agreed to be led by someone so much younger then him. He looked to the leader as he spoke, he had kept what the group was doing a secret telling know one. Augustine was beginning to wander if he could trust this group.

"Thats good." He said. "Starting to think your just leading us on a wild goose chase."

Adam Hawk - June 15, 2007 06:38 PM (GMT)
Adam scowled at the man, but it didn't seem to be working for Adam was being looked down at again. He always hated when older people looked down at him, it made him feel like the smallest creature in the world. "I believe we are on the right track, if you guys stop your yapping, I can get to the destination faster, ok?" Adam was feeling anger now bubbling in his stomach like lava. All he need was to distract the people until night came, then he would go fro the reward himself.

Kaze - June 15, 2007 07:13 PM (GMT)
(OOC: If you guys don't mind, I'll be RPing as both my characters, Kaze and Faile)

"You know...I'm bored," Faile stated as she toyed with her short hair.

The two companions had lounging under the shade of an oasis they stumbled across two hours earlier. Now with their waterskins refilled and their bodies fully rested, they decided just to relax.

"Okay, so I'll admit exploring the desert wasn't exactly a good idea," Kaze shrugged as played with his hair color, even turning it neon pink. "But there are stories of..."

He stopped as he heard people coming and motioned Faile to do the same. He quickly pointed to some nearby cover where they could hide, to see what was going on.

"Now this is interesting," Faile whispered as they hid.

Augustine - June 15, 2007 07:19 PM (GMT)
Augustine stopped walking, he had became alert of other people near by. He grabbed the young boys shoulder and pointed to where he thought the two people where hiding. He wandered if they was a threat or not he got low and started making his way towards them. He know looked at the two of the people one was a girl and the other a man. He smiled and looked at the two and pulled out his dagger.

"What have we here." He said.

Adam Hawk - June 15, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
"Don't!" Adam said putting his hand on the dagger. "They are not a threat, for now. We just need to keep moving, if they follow, then we'll make our move." Adam wasn't used to calling off battle, but he seemed to see a little of himself in the boy, scared and in hiding. Adam couldn't kill himself, so he couldn't kill anyone like him. So he forced the dagger to the thief's side and moved on.

Augustine - June 16, 2007 04:16 AM (GMT)
Augustine turned to follow the boy, after all if they followed he would end their lives quickly. He wandered why the other thief stopped him, was their a soft spot in the young boy. Perhaps after all he was just a kid, he hadn't seen the things Augustine seen.

Adam Hawk - June 16, 2007 04:54 PM (GMT)
Adam kept on moving the explorers forward through the burning rays of the sun. His mind was clouded by the thoughts of his childhood. The boy in hiding really did remind Adam of himself, he was always shy and never accepted by others. Adam was always pushed aside and laughed at for never speaking up about anything. Adam had always just been the kind of person who anyone could do anything to, but not now, for Adam now had the strength to take down even the hardest of enemies. Adam could endure the greatest of blows, he could use the fastest of attack, and most of all he was never pushed around, that is why he was the leader.

Adam continued to move and looked far off in the distance at the sun starting to drop. All he needed was the move his group around in circles long enough and set up camp. Then he would sneak away at night and find the reward himself and keep it all. Then all that was left was making an excuse for returning to the city.

Augustine - June 16, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
Augustine watched as the leader of the group kept moving them froward. A few of the men where complaining about the heat and how tired they was. Augustine laughed silently in his mind, they had no idea about true pain. He looked to the leader hoping they was close or else soon the men would start to fight.

"Are we about there?" He asked.

Faile - June 17, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
"Are they gone yet? Faile asked, she was still trying to peak through the cover they had taken. She was answered by the most unbelievable sound ever, if you take into account the circumstances they were in. Kaze was snoring.

It took a good minute for Faile to figure out what she was hearing, then she exploded.

"I can't believe you!" She shouted as she shook him awake. "Here we are, just about to get killed by a gang of thieves and you are sleeping! You will plenty of time for sleep after you get us killed!"

Kaze honestly did try to calm her down, but it is a little hard to when someone else never lets you talk. So he gave up and kept on listening to her until she started to repeat herself.

"Let's follow them," Kaze whispered the rest of the idea into Faile's ears. By the end of it, she was grinning wider the Cheshire Cat. "Well then, let's get going."

Adam Hawk - June 17, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
Adam ignored the other thief, for he just kept on walking, the faster he moved the faster his reward would be in his hands. The desert just kept on going on and on and there was nothing but sad that could be seen even out in the horizon. Still there were small hills and bits of wood, but nothing else, but flat land. There had to be a landmark for to reward, or maybe it could have just been placed out in the middle of the desert under ground, waiting to be dug up. Adam wished he had asked more about the treasure for at the moment all he knew was there was some reward in a vast desert, and on the other hand he had to lead all of these people out here. All if it was according to the stranger's plan, but still nothing could be found.
